Prices are good, lines are long.There was only one checkout person.Self checkout only had one open spot and I had to get help from an off duty employee.Management needs to be better are sufficiently staffing their stores.

Overall I always have a good experience in this Food Maxx, although this is one of the busier Food Maxx. The only problem i had are in the checkout area. The lines are long because there are only 1-2 cash registers open (3 if it gets extremely busy, I digress). Cashiers can get rude at times but that can be due to the high workload of workers. One cashier today was pretty rude. The way that she spoke was very condescending, all because we were correcting her on a price of coffee. She might need an attitude check or quit working here because she should not speak to people like that.

Sometimes they dont have enough cashiers which leads to long lines at check out. They have fresh produce at good prices. The staff are very helpful and nice people.

I bought chicken wings cost 17$ when I opened the bag at home, I found pieces of bones, crushed wings, frozen bloody meat. The smell was terrible. I can not say its wings at all. I cant even feed my dog with that.

Its a great place. I know, because I used to work there. The Price is Right the produce is great the meeting poultry and all that is quality stuff. The only drawbacks are, are that they dont sell certain brand name products like del Monte and the lines tend to be long when you want to check out and pay for your stuff. Other than that I love FoodMaxx. All of them

Excellent prices and excellent cashier service. Well stocked with quality items, meats, produce and even has a Ace Loan company. Highly recommend by me. Very satisfied customer here.

The best place to get your groceries in the Bay area for a reasonable price everybody else is so high they just dont carry as many items if you see it buy it now because it might not be there in the next time you come back its an overflow store I believe for Safeway you can get some good deals here

Always no enough cashiers. 15 minutes on line. This is ongoing problem in Hayward and Union City stores. Otherwise, prices are good and store is well stock

Fantastic, Staff very friendly and knowledgeable. The prices are the best and I always go to this FoodMaxx very convenient and close by and this is the only supermarket I use I give it up AAA five star hope to see you soon there also.

I was trying to buy bread, but it was moldy. I told a few workers and a supervisor but they said its not their product, and said they will wait until the company clears the shop. Its been 2 days, and no one bothered to remove it.

I like Food maxx I can usually get in and out in record time and their prices are very reasonable

It seems to contain all the necessities as the large food supermarket chains offer.

Lines are very long during peak hours with not enough checkers, so expect to spend 20 to 30 minutes extra to checkout or shop during off-peak hours. Items are stocked well and aisles are spacious, so you can shop without interruption from traffic jams. Another perk, is couponless shopping while getting great prices, but that is true for all locations.

Great food deals....just needs to focus on cleanliness and customer service....

Rare that im in and out in a short period of time plus they had exactly what i was looking for at a very good price so for this visit 5stars

They have everything. Good price. Lots of fresh meat & vegetables, canned goods & on sale products. Very covenient w/ self check out. Employees very polite & professional. Ample parking.

If theres a zero star thats what Id give this store. Not my regular shopping place,entry way was a mess they had a poor selection of many things all meat prices were exorbitantly high as well as higher need items . I wont be going back.

This store since the covid-19 has been true to its time frame of opening times has been a God sent supplier of everything even better it kept its prices low,and this staff is trained to know every item in the store by the product. Thank you foodmax of showing California your reply helping people.

As I was in the store a young black man asked me if I needed help. I asked and without missing a beat. This food max is super clean. I was impressed. I am not from the area I live in Alameda the other food max that are near me are not clean. But this one was impeccable clean. I will travel this food max. Good job.

Open late and have great deals on produce. There are even some healthy options if you pay attention to the ingredients labels. Although, be prepared to wait in a somewhat long line if you shop at 11pm at night like I did. Luckily the cashier was relatively fast.

Great store with good prices people are always nice and helpful. the only bad thing is the wait in the registers. they always have few open and line gets super crazy. sometimes I take more time in the line than shopping

Its a pretty good size grocery store. I found most of the items I was looking for and it had enough assistants and cashiers that didnt take very long to get through.

Its a discount supermarket, there freezers break quite a bit, and there selection kinda sucks and the bakery is especially subpar, Ive found maggots and moths inside pastries from there, but its not so bad that I wouldnt go back.

I discovered theres no Safeway or Luckys in our neighborhood near Tennyson, in Hayward its not that I love them so much I said I cant go to Smart and Final and Costco everyday. I accidentally discovered that theres a FoodMaxx on the corner of Hesperian and Tennison, and I cant be happier the prices are really good theres really good deals, its not pretentious you go in you get what you need and you leave and the bill was $42. I love that.

So there is nothing to wipe down the carts with and it didnt look like they are doing that either. Bathroom was very clean, and the store overall seemed clean.

Management at this location is inadequate. checkout lines are routinely long and cashier speed is equivalently slow. there is very little sense of quality customer service in that area. the store is clean. bakery and dairy are effectively managed but the whole store needs a revolution in efficiency.

Decent selection and quality for a bargain market, definitely cant go wrong when youre here to save. The produce is fresh and the bakery is not bad.

The store was very dirty and messy and the meat looks Brown the raw Beach the chicken the beef is very nasty and old
