Drove all the way from Raleigh, NC to look at a camper. Before traveling all that way I asked Joe on the phone if it had any leaks or soft spots to which he replied: “No soft spots, no leaks.” When I got there the RV had a leak around the front window that had stained the dinette booth wood below that window, the camper wreaked of mildew, the A.C. would not blow cool air after running more than 5 minutes, and I found no less than 8 roaches while checking the camper out. Definitely cannot trust their descriptions of their inventory. Buyer beware.

My husband and I travelled a few hours to reach Happy Campers. We we immediately glad that we made the trip. In our opinion they have well earned their name of Happy Campers: our experience shows that they are a caring and family-run business. As first time RV buyers, we were anxious to make the right choice. Justin and his team went out of their way to accommodate and educate us.We purchased a wonderful 24-foot RV and, well into our trip back, I realized that I left my high-priced prescription glasses on their premises. They were most gracious in finding them and shipping them back to us!

We bought a 5th wheel from Tony and Justin. We were told there were no leaks or water damage. Once we really inspected the camper we found that it had leaked around the sky light in the shower. It was pretty obvious. I asked Justin about it and he said he was not aware if it u til I showed him. Like I said it was very obvious. We did not see anymore spots and no signs of mold or mildew at the time. We really loved the camper so we moved forward with the sale and bought it. Once we got it to our location and actually stayed in it we realized the roof around the closet was a little saggy but dry. We looked further and realized it had leaked at some point and that it does have water damage. We will have to fix it at some point. As far as we know now it does not leak. We keep it under a pole barn at all times so we least we will be able to fix it later. Not sure what it will cost us😟. Either way I feel that they knew about this and did not plan on disclosing it to us as the add they listed about it said NO water damage. But I can say that the AC, fridge, hot water heater and all works fine so far. Overall they seemed like honest people. But they could have at least told us the truth about the old leaks/water damage.

I do not usually write reviews but as i am very unhappy with this company, i felt as if i needed to share my experience. I found a camper online that happy campers and cars was selling so i messages the owner and ask questions about the camper such as “has there ever been water damage?” and “Is there any soft spots in the floor, ceiling, or walls?” He assured me that the answer to both of those questions were no. So i drove an hour and a half to see this camper for myself. I checked the camper over as best as i could for any signs of water damage and i also asked the salesmen at happy campers & cars about 3 different time during my visit if there had been any water damage or soft spots and once again, he assured me that there had not been. As seeing this is a professional company, i felt as if i could trust that he was being honest with me so despite a few concerns i had, i decided to purchase the camper. When filing out the paperwork, i could clearly tell that the salesman was unsure as to what he was doing considering he had to call his boss 4-5 times to ask questions about the paperwork. I filled, what i thought was, everything out & gave him the check for the camper and left. (The told me they would tow it back home for me free of charge.) Later that evening i got a call saying that the paperwork that i had filled out was not the correct paperwork & that i needed to come back to fill out the right paperwork. So later that week, i drove an hour & a half again to fill out new paperwork. Fast forward to now.. we got the camper to it’s permanent location and we stayed in it a couple weeks when we noticed a rotten wood smell. So we decided to really look over the camper hard to see what kind of damage it may have. All 4 slides have water damage (soft floor, soft walls)& there a big spot in the floor of the bedroom is soft where the wood has rotten. This is damage that will cost us THOUSANDS of dollars to fix all because a professional company was not honest. Long story short.. don’t always trust what the seller has to say, even if it is a professional company.

We purchased a camper from Tony Johnson a few years back when this business was in Travlers Rest. needless to say after we purchased it we found out it had water damage. we actually took him to court and he was a no show and closed his business and moved. So beware of buying from him!
