Kept me standing around for quite awhile until someone asked to help me. Told him I wanted to buy a grill and was told that they couldnt tell me when it would be ready because of unreliable assembly help. Asked me to come back tomorrow and speak with the manager. Went to a different Ace the next day in Arden. Explained I wanted to buy a grill and I was told when it would be delivered, I paid and left in less time than I spent waiting for some help at this store. Got to do better than that!

Helpful friendly staff, and they have a lovely selection of indoor and outdoor plants, shrubs, and trees. With their coupons and special sales I have found some great deals on beautiful perennials!

They always have the filter for the ac unit. An odd size. Im always thankful to find it here.

-0 stars I love the unique items that the store carries! Every time I have gone to this store to buy anything on the flyer it’s never available! There are no rain checks. I really feel that it’s a bait and switch situation. No one can help you with any comparable items at the same price to accommodate customers. Also, I have bought 3 bird feeders from this store and are defective ACE brand. The manager is never available nor the owner. I’m very upset with my visit. I feel like it’s a waste of time and money.

Wish I could give zero stars. This place is HORRIFIC and should be embarrassed. When Home Depot is more helpful and caring, then you know you have a problem. Manger could care less too. What a waste of time and energy. PLEASE do yourself a favor and shop at Lowes and Home Depot. It is worth the extra 5 minute drive.

Wow, what a hardware store. I came by for some tie downs and a tarp one Saturday and they had live music, free lunch, and a Stihl tool showing and give aways. Parking lot full and people just shopping away. I love the vibe and atmosphere and as usual the staff are friendly and very helpful. If I go to Ace and atleast 2 people dont ask if I need help it would be abnormal. Keep it up!

I ordered a product online for pickup. It says right in the email to wait for the call from the store to pickup the item. A week later, no call.. so I reached out. They said the item had arrived, so I asked why I hadnt received a call.. they said it wasnt their responsibility to call me. Wth?

New to Hendersonville but already this Ace store has impressed me with excellent customer service and products. I go here first for my hardware, etc. needs.

Picked up blade 10 in still had sale price on it they would not honor the sale price even though it was there fault. Then more people in line behind me the cashier was rude and shuffled me to the side when I still had another item to purchase so I left.i have a ace rewards card but I guess it wont do me any good since I wont go back

Between waiting for an older gentleman for 10 minutes to shuffle across the store because he was supposedly the only one that could deal with lawn mower sales, to discovering they were out of stock and “could have that model here in a couple weeks,” and not being willing to move on the price of similar self-drive mowers, my patience wore thin. Sure, I consider my time in billable hours when taking a break during a work day, but it was like a scene from a western movie, a geographical oddity.I drove up the road to the Arden Ace, they had the model I was looking for, quickly loaded it into my vehicle from a shipping crate, and applied a $20 off coupon the Hendersonville location wouldn’t honor. It took 12 minutes start to finish, as where this (HVL) location took 20 just to tell me, in too many words, they’d have to order, wouldn’t make price adjustments and needed computer training to use a PC keyboard.This ace is the place with the not so helpful hardware folks, that “don’t use the computers cause that’s how they get ya!”

I needed a new leaf blower and I love the Stihl products. David was so kind, very knowledgeable, and most helpful. I appreciate that he did not waste my time and did not push something on me that would not meet my needs. He listened to me and helped me get exactly what I wanted. He even went the extra mile and assembled it for me too. That is real customer service!! Please know how blessed and fortunate you are to have a person like David working for Ace. He has a wonderful outgoing personality that draws your customers in. David is indeed a true asset to your company and business.

I have been a loyal customer of this store since I moved here five years ago. After today I may not be back. I had several items to puchase but walked out empty handed. Some items they appeared to be out of or maybe were moved but since I could not locate anyone to ask for help I cannot be sure. The recent remodel certainly has not helped the shopping experience. I will be going elsewhere.

The entire store was turned upside down on the day we visited there. Markdown items covered tables in the center aisle of the store and it had the appearance of a store that was closing down permanently. They were moving shelving and repositioning aisles, with most of the stock buried in boxes. Needless to say, we did not find what we were looking for here. Nice selection of plants on the patio, and we enjoyed seeing a Hallmark store connected to the interior of the Ace Hardware.

I love coming to this store. Its so convenient for me! I didnt realize yall price match! Ive yet to meet a terrible employee. There is one young lady, relatively young and pretty tall. I didnt catch her name but shes always helpful and super sweet!

Carolina Ace cannot and will not cater to people with disabilities. Their aisles and sidewalks are junked with merchandise clearly against ADA policies. The owners are rude, have been approached about the concerns, and are unwilling to make any adjustments. They don’t understand human relations let alone customer relations. If you continue to read the owners later thread, what an outstanding display of threat and ignorance.The owner has worked with me on multiple occasions to move merchandise that is blocking the aisles. That should be signal enough that there is a problem. He knows me, and as a customer who will take thousands of dollars of business elsewhere.I’ve never spoken rudely to employees, but will say I know where to find what I’m looking for. When they help move merchandise, they are incredibly apologetic. Emails have also been sent to the store and no responses were given. How is it that he’s never met me, but has been able to identify me on camera? Profiling?Currently, there are pallets blocking the sidewalk on the handicap parking side of the building that must remain clear. That is not a choice anyone can make to obstruct. If I did what was necessary to contact every item in the store that was in my way and blocking a 4-5ft turning radius, I would do significant damage to merchandise and myself. Dually, contacting the local ADA office would probably incur a number of fines for lack of compliance.Luckily, Mr P. Is incorrect about his small business presence. There are other Ace stores within 15 mi of his, and they function much better. Sometimes it takes a situation like this to determine someone’s true goals about their business and their role in the community.

It’s more than your typical hardware store, This ACE location has everything you expect but also has a very extensive plant and shrub selection as well as some young trees for sale. It’s beautiful.

Should he ever leave, though I will be disappointed-I guess Ill just go back to my local Ace in Arden!!Oh yeah, the 60s-70s music is a nice touch!

I shop at ace often. I dont know what happened on 12/5/20. There was no parking, and the merchandise was in the process of being moved around the store. It was literally a zoo. Very confusing

The lady at the cashiers with a raspy voice is extremely rude, when I asked for her name, so I could talk to the manager, she refused to give it to me, then she said she was the owner, and refused to give me her name. She told another cashier to not tell me her name. Why was she so afraid to say her name?For the mental health of all the workers there, I hope she is not the owner, but If it she is, I feel for them and their mental health. This lady is as toxic as is gets - her behavior is so rude, angry and unhappy. A person this angry should not be in the front of any store.

This was a very nice store for a local community hardware store. I understand the big box stores are quite aways away, this will have a pretty fair amount of what you need. They have a garden section. Plumbing and electrical. Grills and so much more. They had everything I needed for this quick trip.

I recently checked out with purchases in the amount of $288.00 & felt I was treated rudely by the cashier. I could get all the items Id purchased on the counter except a bag of soil, which was on bottom shelf of cart & too heavy for me to lift up onto the counter. The cashier came from behind the counter, grabbed the bag of soil from the cart and literally slammed it on the counter on top of my purse which was on the counter. There was no apology or any kind of verbal exchange. When I got home I realized my cell phone had been temporary jarred when the heavy bag was dropped on it. Thankfully I was able to restore the setting. Id rather have someone else check me out on future trips to this store.

Well-stocked with variety within categories (tools, home and garden, etc.) with experienced staff who seem to always be there when you need help. Annexed within the store is a Hallmark- when you need a decent card or seasonal decorations that are extra. Sales are frequent, parking plentiful, and open 7 days a week. Carolina Ace is my go-to for home projects, gardening, and supplies to feed the birds, bees, and butterflies.

Too many restrictions on what you can use gift cards to pay for. I wasnt making a claim of deception. I received the card as a gift. I couldnt use it for decent hardware or pretty much anything useful. cannot use for anything with a power cord is just ridiculous. Ace hardware apparently lives by the fine print. Pretty much giving the finger to the consumer.

I am a 44-year-old professional female working in the real estate development and investment sector. I head a networking group for a niche collection of contractors and artisans in the building and construction industry. I am a public speaker who promotes training our youth to become trades professionals, as the shift to tech careers has left us with a deficiency in many trades.Today, I woke up and my car wouldnt start. My code reader showed nothing, my battery tested functional and what I could tell it is either my cars ECU, or my key chip is not working because they arent communicating....car isnt starting. Many times Ive been to this ACE, and I remembered them promoting their new service of reproducing chipped keys. I needed to find someone who could tell me if my key was readable.I called and got a gentleman on the phone who abruptly told me that they dont do chipped car keys at this location because of covid, and the need for a worker to enter my vehicle. After doing a bit of research, I thought I would call back because maybe he misunderstood my need. When I explained that I would like to speak with someone regarding what technology they use to duplicate keys, he got another worker named David to speak with me. David immediately told me that to program a key they would need to get in my car. I asked if they had a machine that could read my existing key or if he could just rip another from a blank so I could reprogram it myself. He immediately started to interrupt me to tell me he wasnt going to cut a key for me for free. When I asked again if he could just cut a chipped key, he kept insinuating that I was trying to get some form of handout and kept talking over me like I had no idea what Im talking about. Thank you Dave, for giving me the impatient, buttinski man-spaination.I historically shop there for anything I can instead of Lowes or Amazon because I value the locally owned business. I give you three stars for the two employees who have been helpful with my plants, mulch, bedcover, gardening supplies, and tools. Please ask your employees to listen to the needs of your customers instead of speaking down to them or jumping to conclusions. Evolve.

Very poor and RUDE management. “Jay” was not helpful at all and never acknowledged me as a customer. The other associate was very nice and helpful, but Jay never offered to see if he could order an item and never offered to help me and was extremely rude!! During these turbulent times I try to support the smaller stores, but because of “Jay” I will take my business elsewhere.“Jay” just cost this business some big bucks because of his attitude.To the owners of this ACE, find another employee! I will never ever grace the doors of this store. Jay, the customer comes first!Not paperwork, stocking, or looking at your clipboard. On my way to Lowes!!

I own a business Harleys handyman and driveway service this Ace location is the best the owner and the employees are very helpful if they dont have it they will find a way to get it for you. Prices are great the cashiers are wonderful I dont have anything bad to say about this location I give them a five Star plus. If Im doing handyman work need something I always go to Ace if Im doing driveway repairs or as sealcoating crack feeling etc I still end up going to ace to get certain things I need

Had what we needed!

When I want something unusual I find it here, from plants to hallmark cards to bird feeders.

When youre in a pinch they almost always have what you need to finish the job. The checkout lines never hold you up and their propane refill costs are even cheaper than Blossman.

The employees at this location are so helpful and friendly. They always try to make your experience top notch, while helping with all your needs. Theyll price match within reason, and the cashiers have handed me valid coupons at the point of sale to keep costs with my budget. These are the reasons I drive 20 minutes instead of going to the ace less than 2 minutes from my home.

I frequent Ace Hardware several times a month. Ace is conveniently located and I always get personal service. It never fails when I walk into the store an employee is asking if they can assist me. I have never received this type of service from a big box store. I would like to give a specific shout out to Eddie. Eddie seems to be the gentleman who always asks if he can help and he always has the answer and can go right to the product I am in need of. Carolina Ace is a great place for ladies who dont always know the screw, bolt or other items we need to do a repair. I have always been satisfied when I leave! Thank you Ace Hardware for making my shopping experience easy!

On Friday I purchased three flower box coco liners, using the 30% off bag sale coupon I had received in the mail. When I got home, I realized I had purchased the wrong size. On Saturday, I returned (to the same cashier) to exchange the smaller liners for three larger ones (and pay the difference). When she rang up the new ones, I asked if she had applied the discount. She said no--that Id need another coupon. I told her she saw me yesterday--and Im a frequent shopper there. She wouldnt budge. I asked to speak to the manager and she said she was the owner.So, in this time when were supposed to limit our activities, she wanted me to drive home and get another coupon (which we happened to have) and return to the store in order to get the discount.As I was leaving the store, I ran into my neighbor. I asked him if he was going to be using his 30% off coupon and he said I could have it. So, I got back into line for this insensitive store owner to apply my credit.

Had to get more paint for the house & the old formula had changed. Staff was great at helping us get the right match.

Went there to get a fishing license. One of the store associate acted like he didnt even want to help. Waited in the check out line for about twenty minutes, finally it was our turn asked the clerk about getting a fishing license and was told that I had to go to the back of the store to do that. Went to the back of the store and no one was there another customer was waiting and I asked if she had been helped and she said no. Found a store associate that was walking back and forth and asked if they could get someone back there and he said there is only a few of us here today. Finally he went back there told the other lady that she would have to wait cause he couldnt cut a key and asked what I needed and I said a fishing license and he said that I would need to wait because he wasnt the person who does that. I was so mad, I just said forget it and left. When I left I counted at least 7 employees at the store. Im not interested in any excuses either your here to your job or not. Will not go back to that Ace Hardware again.

Extremely helpful staff, willing to explain how to work on projects to this electrical novice. I far prefer to shop this smaller and more intimate establishment over the sprawling acreage of Lowes, where help is hard to find.

Staff wasnt on its top game for a Sunday afternoon. I love this store and shop here often. Convenient, great selection and usually very helpful staff. Unfortunately today I had to go find someone who was standing talking to another employee. One came back to plumbing with me and ended not knowing how to help me, had to get a manager.

Great place for convenience on that side of town. kind of pricey on somethings, not a lot of stock sometimes.
