I LOVE THIS PLACE! Love their pastries especially the mango and guava puffs! Their donuts are good too, but I like the puff better.As for food, the turkey avocado sandwich is the only one that I’ve tried so far, so I got nothing else to compare it with. But it is still so gooood! One thing to note though…the sandwich bread do come in a weird shape so it is a bit hard to take a bit from.For drinks, do they make awesome iced mocha. It is perfect amount of sweetness for me!Overall I would definitely recommend this place if you wanna have a quick lunch with coffee and dessert afterwards.

So good! We got a breakfast popover and donuts. Good prices too! The popovers are $7 and the donuts were $12.50 for 6. Definitely going back!

Looking for a non touristy spot for breakfast that isnt insanely priced pop on over.Cant find a good donut on the island,.pop on over.If youre need of coffee that will help you make the drive back to Kona....pop...on...over!Seriously great place and they had a nice cover outdoor area. The donuts go fast and Id pass on the cookies of we came back.

Excellent pastries and sandwiches. We ate here every morning we were on the island. The ABC sandwich and ham and swiss (pictured) is absolutely decious and the pastries and coffee really hits the spot. Highly recommend.

Im so torn. Selfishly I want to say this place stinks. Don’t go there….but in actuality it is just …Fantastic!!!!! This place is phenomenal. Hands down the best Hilo has to offer. Try a breakfast popover. You won’t be disappointed. Yummy times a million . Save some for me!. Enjoy!!

I went a few days ago and I got a snickerdoodle, chocolate puffs and a Danish. The cookie had a bad flour aftertaste, the Danish was very artificial tasting and the puffs were good

I sneak in here for a donut from time to time. When birthday time rolled around for my girlfriend I asked if they made cakes.They do.Amazingly well.I ordered a lilikoi cheesecake. I honestly think it is the best cheesecake I’ve ever eaten.Not too sweet and quite light. The lilikoi was the perfect tartness.Next year I will be headed back to get her a cake there again.Super friendly staff and the price of the cake was extremely reasonable.

Unique popover pastry that can also be used for a sandwich. Donuts are visual works of perfection... Plan on sometime if you order a sandwich, not a fast food place.

On your way to Popover Cafe and Bakery, you most likely will pass it the first time. It is an unassuming building, but the food is the most delectable experience your taste buds will ever enjoy.

Fantastic place for tea and coffee. Fresh bakery. I had the yummy cinnamon twist and hubby had the mini doughnuts. We enjoyed it thoroughly. Tea was delicious. Highly recommended.

Decided to try this place out for breakfast one morning. Showed up and not only was there no place to sit but there was no food available. Why even be open if you only have 2 things to eat? They told us no breakfast sandwiches and the donut case was basically empty besides maybe 3 off ball flavors. Felt like a wast of my time so I left.

Big emphasis on popovers with their popover sandwiches that are fresh & delicious, they also have flatbreads that are hearty and filling. Also great to just grab some baked goods like their strawberry lemon coffe cake!

The counter help was extremely friendly.! The blueberry cream cheese Danish tasted exquisite. The liliquio mochi is delicate, smooth, and yummy. Visited late in the day. Glad there were items to choose from.

Hi tech and great donuts and popovers. Everything good. But the sandwiches are expensive for what you get.

It was love at first bite. We tried 4 different puffs and it was a hard decision, but the favorite was the Haupia, it had a beautiful coconut flavor and an absolute must try if you go here! I got a latte which was amazing and they made it look beautiful which somehow always makes it taste better :) We also got the turkey avocado sandwich, and the ABC sandwich which was a special that day. They were both PHENOMENAL!! To top it all off, the service was amazing and the lady helping us was one of the nicest people we met on the island. Would definitely recommend!!

Popover is the BEST bakery on the entire island. You will not be disappointed with anything you order: donuts, danishes, sandwiches, flatbread, and coffee! Affordably priced too! But I’d literally pay more if I had to. Enjoy!

Coffee is the best on Hawaii Island. . Pastries are excellent. Sandwiches need work. They are lacking substance. Also they need more variety from the same 3 choices.

I waited an hour for my single drink order when I was the only one in the shop. On top of that, the lady was extremely rude for no reason. It confused me because I did not do anything to provoke her.

Excellent little cafe! I ordered a dirty chai (chai with a shot of espresso). The beverage they handed me is beyond my expectations. So delicious! Foamy milk on top swirled into a perfect heart. Beautiful presentation. Very friendly service. I highly recommend this coffee shop!

Popover has been open less than a year, so Im keeping that in mind. I really expected more. The espresso was okay, as were the popovers. The croissant was disappointing and was similar to something from a grocery store.It was not an inviting atmosphere. It seems like the proprietors cant decide if they want a cafe or a bakery. Right now its a bit dreary with very little in the way of personality. I visited on a weekday morning so, perhaps on the weekend its a bit more lively and relaxed. The loud classic rock radio station didnt help the vibe.Popover was ok but seems to be suffering from an identity crisis. Maybe its doing just fine and I caught it on an off day. I hope they find their groove and are better next time in Im town.

The donuts are always amazing. Ate a popover this morning and didnt see what the big deal was. Am I missing something? The butter mochi has a unique taste to it, so that was pleasant. Would like to try the coffee next time.

Took my sons in for a treat and was disappointed. We arrived about 11:15am and no one who worked was around. There were 4 people sitting and 2 had food and 2 others looked like they were waiting. We browsed the display which looked delicious but after 10 minutes of NO workers and no way for us to order, we left.Havent been back so still dont know if the actual food is good.

The Popovers with lilikoi butter are heaven. They were so good we were almost going to turn around to buy more before heading back to Kona. No matter what side of the island you live on this place is worth the drive. The lady who helped us who I think is the owner was super nice.

Came home to visit family and they talked about this new place down the street that just opened up. They are known for popovers but we tried the spinach, hamakua mushrooms with pesto flatbread...broke da mout!!!!!I also got a cold brew, but they have a full espresso set up...yumThe staff was super friendly and it’s so clean. You even get to see into the kitchen as they make all the food.Go check out this family owned business. You won’t be disappointed!

The blueberry coffee cake is delicious! As is their lattes and teas! If youre looking for donuts theyve got a variety of flavors to try!! Butter beer crunch donut, ube donut, matcha, lilikoi coconut, cookies and cream! If you love apple pie you should definitely try their apple lattice. As you can see ive tried quite a bit of their menu already. The popover turkey avocado and breakfast scramble sandwiches are also great as is their hamakua mushroom and sunrise flatbteads! You wont be disappointed no matter what you try!
