I approached a worker there to help find a price on something. Then he disappeared. I found him by the front desk eating a sandwich. I asked can I get some help. He said something under his breath. I found two pieces which I liked. I asked if there was any specials. He said if you pay cash you will get a little discount. So I said I will be back and went to the bank. When I came back they were busy so I waited my turn. I was observing the guy who helped me and he was so helpful with other people. Finally I paid for my items. Then he was about to walk away. I said is anybody going to help me load it in my car. Again he said something under his breath. I left that place feeling like I was discriminated against plus I think he was the manager. I am all for supporting local businesses but I was very disappointed in customer service. I am not one to complain but if the owner reads this I want them to. be aware of workers who can hurt your business. This was my first time in this store and it was not a pleasant experience. I tried calling later to get the owners name but the same guy who helped me answered the phone and he was very evasive and questioning me why I wanted the name of the owner. That made me more irritated....First impressions are crucial and this manager failed big time.
Worst furniture store on the Big island by far, horrible customer service, over priced wood that has termites and longhorn beetles in all their furniture, got 2 dressers from here with this problem and now spread to my kitchen cabinets, now I have to pay even more money to Hilo termite to tent my home. BE AWARE OF THESE CRUEL OWNERS.
Good selection of furniture. From finished to unfinished, so you can save some money. Not small in the inventory, there are two large warehouse spaces. I used to go to the Kona location, now it is the Hilo location for me. There is also a location in Koloko not so big but might save you a long trip. They used to have lots of ceramics as well. This should be, could be happening again in April 2021.They also sell hotel furniture and art from hotels when they remodel. As they name implies they carry lots of bamboo and teak furniture this is their main claim to fame.Schedules change best to call before you make the trip.
Not one to post negative reviews, because I know how important local businesses are, especially in a pandemic. I stopped in and picked out about 2k worth of furniture that I was ready to buy on the spot. It was a Tuesday afternoon. My family were the only people in the place. I walked up to the guy at the front desk who was very busy playing video solitaire or some such thing. I said, “hey, is there someone here who could help me put together a package price on this stuff and negotiate a deal?” To which he replied something to the effect of, we only sell at sticker price and there is nobody to talk with about it. Obviously, I know this is not the case because I read the other reviews before I went in there. I told him that with nobody in the place and the fact that the furniture I was looking at had obviously been it stock for a long time, perhaps he could put me in touch with someone who could discuss it. Again, in his condescending way, he said they do not negotiate. I thought about it and said, “will you take my name and number down and give it to the owner in case something can be done?” He said that’s never going to happen and would not even take my info. I was with my wife and parents at the time. Then he sat back down to his riveting solitaire game. All I was looking for was just the most basic customer service. Do you want to sell something? I might have even paid full price if he would have just been the slightest bit friendly, but to completely dismiss a 2k sale would be totally unacceptable to me if I was that business owner and I would fire his lazy video game playing butt on the spot. Go dust something! There is always work to be done. Ridiculous! The dog at the place was the best salesperson and at least seemed happy to see us, following us around.
Great store and the owner is a standup kind of guy. Gave me a great deal on some cool door stoppers and the bedroom furniture weve bought here is really nice quality.
Great place for beautiful solid wood furniture and excessories for any island home!
Good quality all wood furniture; bamboo, Teak, mahogany. Very reasonable. Some pieces are unfinished at a reduced cost. The selection changes often so its a place to re visit if you dont find what you are looking for initially. They carry dining tables, end tables, living room furniture, bedroom bureaus, desks, decorative pieces just a huge selection. You can even return something that you bring home! Staff is friendly and knows the stock. Love this place!
Love the selections. Not USA made but excellent selection and fairly good prices...for Hawaii. We will be getting some of our furnishings, but probably Kona store.
Best priced furniture on the Island, also best quality furniture on the Island. The owner Mike will help you find the items you need.
