Took my car here for an oil change. Super easy to make an appointment and check my car in. Car was ready quickly. My mistake was that he does not accept credit cards. The owner was gracious enough for me to take the car home and return later with a check. Will be back!

Robert is professional and charges fair labor rates. I stopped by his shop on a Tuesday morning with a leaking radiator. He told me that he couldn’t fit me in until Thursday morning. I was able to get by adding coolant to my vehicle until he made the repair. I dropped the vehicle off on Thursday morning and picked it up later that afternoon complete with a new radiator. We make a yearly trip to HHI and I am thankful that I now know a mechanic on the island that I can trust.

Island Motors took care of my air conditioning refrigerant refill promptly and at a fair price. Highly recommend them.

While vacationing at HHI, I noticed a nail in a tire on our van. I was nervous Id pay a premium once any mechanic saw I had out of state license plates. After calling several places, I was able to get my tire repaired that afternoon at Island Motors. I was greeted by Robert and he was able to fix the tire quickly. I feel like I paid a very reasonable price for the quick repair. If youre from out of state, dont look any further and take your vehicle here.

He was quick, courteous, and fairly priced. I would recommend seeing him when in Hilton Head!

After a long drive to HHI I noticed a grinding noise from my brakes. I found Island Auto from a search. I called and he said he was booked but to bring the car by and he would see if it was something simple. I did and he called me a half hour later (3:30pm) and said I needed rear brake pads and rotors and he could do it by 5pm. The price was a reasonable price for the service. He had the car ready by a few minutes after 5:00 and I saw him road test my car before he finished. He did a great job in a short time on short notice at a fair price.

I’m from out of town and got a nail in my tire. A couple other places couldn’t get to me. Robert told me to come on over. He got me in immediately, patched the tire and I was done in less than 20 minutes. He gave me a fair price and was great. I’m glad I found him.

Had my radiator in my truck go bad and island motor was able to have it repair and back on the road the next day in just a couple of hours. I highly recommend him for top quality service.

We moved to Hilton Head Island several years ago. Like finding the right Doctor, finding the right mechanic eventually becomes necessary. That day came. It was the dreaded break job on an import. Based on the referral of a friend, we went to see Robert at Island Motors. All I can say is WOW. Robert was very thorough, fast, fair, informative, and professional. We continue to use him for all of our routine maintenance and repairs. We recommend Island Motors.

Ive never written a negative review. Always compliment businesses, restaurants, etc. when I appreciate quality and exceptional customer service. But my suggestion is to stay away from Island Motors. I made an appointment a week out. I arrived and the owner greeted me by saying he could not get to the work. I said why didnt you at least give me the courtesy of a call so I can plan my day. Roberts reply, take the car elsewhere. Rude. Unappreciative. And, I might add, in the past he did incorrectly diagnose a problem. I got a second opinion, which resolved the problem for little cost. Had I move forward with Island Motors he would have charged $900 for work that was unnecessary.

While on vacation we had a water pump that needed to be replaced.I called my trusted mechanic back home to get a ball park on what a reasonable price for removal and replacement would be and gave Island Motors a call. Their price was actually lower than my mechanic back home and they worked me right in and did the repair same day. I would highly recommend this shop to anyone. Super clean, organized and prompt honest service. When broke down on the road you could not ask for more than that. THANKS!
