If you have a BMW or German manufactured car in the Houston area, this is where you need to take it for service and repair. Absolute all-star team and service. They know their cars and they care about doing the work right. Chris is a phenomenal manager and owner. He works hard and leads a great team. He’s always transparent and works to get your car done and back on the road as soon as possible.BMWs are expensive to own and maintain so take reviewers crying about price with a grain of salt. This shop will almost always be your best bet for the trifecta of price, quality, and customer service. If you want peace of mind in knowing that the team working on your car truly cares about it, you, and your experience on the road, then the decision is easy. Go see Chris and his team! It’s that simple.Even if your service quote is hefty, Chris will help you prioritize what needs to be done out of safety, what are “nice to haves” that can wait, and what will cost you more later if you do wait. You’ll have the data you need to make a good decision for you and your budget. As an aside, I’ve heard plenty of anecdotes where a customer came to Chris and team with a quote from the dealership in the 4 digits on work that should’ve been done for free because of manufacturer recalls or repairs. Chris is honest and transparent. He operates with integrity - he’s not hustling you just to make a quick buck.I had to move from Houston but I love this place. Chris even offered to use the network to help me find a reputable service shop in my new city. Definitely add this shop and group to your team!
The finest BMW technicians in the land. Trust them. They are tip-top, standup professionals trained by the genius, late Mike Perkins (RIP 2011). 41 years of Mike’s legacy..
Know their BMWs
I recently stumbled upon Bavarian Machine Specialties when I needed some work done from the BMW dealership that was going to cost a fortune. I talked to Chris Lund, the General manager and he said he could definitely help me out without it costing what the BMW dealership wanted. I had the car towed to Bavarian Machine Specialties and they completed the work in a timely manner for about half the cost of what BMW wanted. Fast forward about a month later and the engine in my car seized. This was a completely unrelated incident to the work that was done before. I did not know the engine was seized at the time, but I had it towed to Chris’ shop again. Chris got back to me within a day and told me the bad news. At this point, I was pretty downtrodden about my car and the luck I was having with it. Chris quickly reassured me that they could find a new engine and that they would do their absolute best to keep the costs low as possible. I’m not sure you can imagine the work that goes into replacing the engine in a BMW, but let me assure you from the pictures, it was no easy feat! They took the opportunity to replace seals on the new (used) engine because it was already out of the car. I was amazed at all of the stuff Chris’ team did to ensure the new engine was clean, carbon free, sealed, and ready to go back in the car. Doing engine maintenance is much easier when the engine is out of the car and on a stand so they took every opportunity to double check every single component. I have a lot of experience working on vehicles and was amazed at the thoroughness of what they did. I would recommend Bavarian Machine Specialties to anyone that drives a BMW. This would be for oil changes, tires, other routine maintenance, check engine lights, and even complete engine replacement. Chris Lund is an amazing manager and not someone looking to squeeze every last dollar out of your fear that your car might not run right.
Great experience getting my Z4 back in shape. Chris and crew consistently go the extra mile. If you have a BMW, you know its not going to be cheap. Here, you know its going to be right.
This is one of the best mechanics Ive been to. A true expert, John does an extremely thorough and comprehensive inspection to diagnose the problem before letting you know what you need. Filled me in on all the details, even emailed me pictures as he was inspecting my car. Very knowledgeable, he cuts right through B.S. to let you know exactly whats wrong and what he can do to fix it. Is it more expensive than any old random garage mechanic? sure. But cheaper than the dealership and a much better experience in my opinion. Unlike the dealership, youre not in the dark, talking to someone behind a desk, while a God-knows how experienced of a mechanic is tinkering around in your car. After they were done they cleaned my BMW E46, left it looking way nicer than when I dropped it off. Overall, a very positive experience. These people are passionate about the work they do and it shows.
Ive been to several mechanics in Houston for my baby and BMS is by far my favorite. They always keep me informed of the status of my cars service, how long its going to take, and how much its going to cost. Theres never any questions left on the table about price or time to complete work and I love that about them. Id recommend anyone who owns a BMW that they love as much as I love mine to take their car here for out of warranty work.
Awesome service. Owner/manager was extremely friendly, honest, and trustworthy. Prices are much better than BMW dealership prices for the best service. Recommend them strongly to service any issue on your BMW.
This review is based off of interactions with Chris the Service Manager, not for any work Ive had done there. I contacted them because I live in San Antonio and was looking at an older M Roadster there in Houston. I contacted Chris with some questions and he was incredibly gracious with his time and help, and was really knowledgeable of issues with the specific year/model I was looking at. If I ever find the right M I plan to head back to BMS to have them do some upgrades.
Stopped by to inquire about a diagnostic on my E92 ///M3, price was higher than the dealer. Gave me the mechanic mambo jumbo, It could be this it could be that I already know it could be anything, you as a experienced man in the business should know better than me from internet searches. Said I had to drop off the car, how long does it take to plug it in and get a code? Hard to believe the dealer was a best choice. And the other comments below dont seem legit for some reason, just my opinion.
Very knowledgeable staff. Professional, thorough, and fair pricing. Highly recommend.
Extremely helpful and courteous, read and reset my diagnostic codes, taking up about a half hour of his time, for no charge.
Came to John for help with a pre-purchase. Incredibly fast and knowledgeable responses, super helpful in every way. Very impressive level of service and these guys know their stuff inside and out. Thank you!
My car broke down in front of their storefront. they were very helpful in giving me assistance.
They are the best BMW Repair shop in Houston. They do it right the first time.
Still one of the BMW s repair garage i would trust with a BMW
Friendly service and expert advice. I have used them before and will again.
I feel overcharged most times I service my vehicle here. Despite how much I have spent here I am still charged double the rate for a tow and was once charged a fortune for a gallon of gas.
