Lacking on shipping 7 days to get your order, this will ruin anyone’s fishing trip weather, I’m sure costumer will pay for faster shipping if their was better communication skills. You guys can do better

I give them five stars because they had the exact one part that I needed. Supply chain issues are crushing this place. I dont think they had a single new Hobie Fishing Kayak in stock. The facility and parking is pretty average.

If you want to rent or buy a high quality kayak this is the place to go. These guys are kayak gurus and they have everything you need to prepare you for your kayak adventure. From kayaks to all the necessary gear and hardware you may need, they have it all. The staff is very knowledgeable, professional, and best of all friendly. Highly recommended.

Just bought two kayaks from ACK-Houston and highly recommend a visit here if you are looking, too! We found out about them at a Kayaking 101 event hosted by HTXoutdoors/Bayou City Outdoors. Took us a while to finally take the plunge, and when we did we came back here. We werent sure what we needed and had hoped to get some guidance. Bill helped us and we were not disappointed. He offered lots of advice and tips, and he helped us pick out two kayaks that we took out immediately after picking them up. Definitely perfect for us. Well be coming back for anything else we need!

Be careful when ordering online. I was told the kayak I wanted was in stock and after a week I checked on the status and was told the kayak was out of stock. Noone bothered to call or text me.The same issue happened with a paddle also.

These guys were fabulous. Had a real malfunction with a piece of equipment that was added onto my kayak, not made by them but install by them on my Hobie pro angler 14. They were able to work their magic and when the manufacture of the piece of equipment wouldn’t stand behind their product they completely took care of me and went above and beyond expectations. I would highly recommend their knowledgeable, friendly, experienced staff to anybody considering a kayak.

This place is great! I have never had an issue with anyone here except when I rent a kayak for a buddy coming into town. They arent quick to help you load and strap it down to make sure everything is good. Other than that they have hobies, which I bought from them back in March of 2016. They are friendly, and mostly willing to help or just talk fishing. Like your neighborhood bar without the alcohol.

Great kayak shop. Helpful and knowledgeable staff. Have a good selection of paddle sport stuff and even some pretty good deals. They have a lot of high-end merchendice and some mid range as well. They can get you outfitted for just about any paddle sport outing and seems like the staff are really into the sport as well. I would come back. They also have a pretty extensive selection online and do business across the country. So check that out first. Be forewarned, the neighborhood is not the best and the parking lot/ re-entry on to the road is a bit challenging.

The customer service out of this location is second to none! I live in Richmond but gladly drive over to this location for anything Kayak related. They stand behind their products and value their customers. Whenever I’m asked about a location to shop for kayaks and accessories I always refer to these guys.

We got EXACTLY what we needed through the detailed help that Aaron provided with critical kayak accessories and the coaching that Ben gave us about how to load the boat on our jeep. Have attended two demo days and was at the store today because our special order boat had arrived for pick-up. Without the demo days, Im sure that many people would end up with the wrong thing. We sure would have. A great service they provide in giving people an opportunity to spend hours, if wanted, on the water testing and retesting until the right decision is made. I wish every shopping experience was this high quality!

If youre into kayaking or kayak fishing, this is place should be familiar to you. Rented a yak. It was loaded onto my truck while I paid, inside. I noticed a hatch was.missing and pointed it out. The hatch was replaced and I was on my way.While fishing in the rented Predator PDL, the prop got tangled with braided line. Informed them and had no issues with returning the equipment.

I attended their demo day and learned a lot about kayaks and kayaking. I was so amazed that I decided to purchase a Native Watercraft Titan 12. I would definitely recommend ACK of Houston for your kayaking needs!!!

I pre ordered a kayak from the Houston store six weeks ago. I contacted the store last week and was told it would be in store on August 30. I called today, the 29th, to make sure they weren’t delayed and was told they won’t even be shipped from the manufacturer until “Maybe” the 31st. Then I was told that “your not the only one waiting, we’ll let you know”. I get that ACK has no control over the manufacturer but even when I ordered the Kayak it seemed that I was more of a nuisance than anything. I’ve ordered online in the past and it was always a pleasant transaction even when something went wrong they were great. The Houston store has been a major letdown for me as far as customer service.The manager of both Houston area stores, Sean, contacted me immediately after I emailed customer service and he took care of the situation. The employee had the wrong information and the Kayak will be there when they originally told me. That was never my issue to begin with. I understand everybody has a bad day now and then and after speaking with Sean I feel better about the situation.

My family and I were totally ignored, i get im a black man and maybe not many black men come in there,but never have i ever been treated like this..not even acknowledged as a customer..no one greeted us when we walked in the store..let alone while we looked around...they guy at the register didnt even look up..but they did help the guy that came in after us that didnt look like me(hint hint).i came in around 3:30 and stayed for about 15 minutes...so needless to say my family and i just left..the crazy thing is, i actually went to purchase a pilot....In the defense of the other staff that helped me the 1st time i visited were very helpful and made me fell very welcome..(thanks guys)...for not being at the houston boat show..because if i had gotten treated like that on the 1st visit, there never would have been a 2nd..this experience leaves me to wonder....is this the america i fought for..Wow guys...if you were on the clock at 3:30 to 3:45 today thanks for nothing..

Been kayaking for Years . Sure there are cheaper Kayaks at Academy, but they are totally risky when fishing in Salt water . Been on several kayak fishing trips with guys who decided to buy a Kayak from Academy . I was kayaking with my Tarpon 160i and there was no comparison at all . Kayaks from Academy are no match to very reliable Kayaks from ACK . Try kayaking In high winds with a Academy Kayak . Your arms will feel like coming off after 30 minutes . Higher end Kayaks are worth every penny . I have purchased two from ACK that are for fishing in the Bays . I wouldnt put any of family and friends on cheap kayaks that are not sea Worthy . The guys from ACK know Kayaks, and are very helpful . Dont take a chance with a Cheap Kayak because its not worth a seriously bad day in the Bays . Tapron 160i has performed a 100% every time Ive been out in the water . Hope all thinking of Kayaking in the surrounding bays make the right choice when buying a Kayak .
