I am a police officer and needed to install a siren and red and blue emergency lights on my personal vehicle. I went to a few different radio installation shops and one of them quoted me an insane price and kind of blew me off, I could tell they didnt want to mess with it. Discount Car Stereo were honest with me upfront. They advised me they have not installed these lights before but they downloaded the instructions that came with the lights and read up on it prior to me bringing it in. It only took 2 days (approximately 1.5 days) to get everything installed. When I arrived to pick up my vehicle a couple of the lights were not where I liked them, and they gladly moved them. They installed all the interior lights without drilling holes in my vehicle, which is one thing I was worried about.They did a great job for a reasonable price and completed the job quickly. They were very honest and professional. I have more lights on order and will gladly come back here to have them installed when they arrive in the mail.

Discount Car Stereo - HoustonI went to Discount Car Stereo on Wednesday February 24, 2021 to buy an Alpine car stereo for my wife as a gift for her belated Valentine’s Day present and after our Texas weather disaster. After the car was done - I drove home 1/2 an hour later and trying to find the manual so that I know how to use the unit. The stereo box was empty; the box looks old.I call the store to ask about the missing manual and the new product registration and the technician who answered the phone told me that they threw away the manual. He told me that they don’t have it and that to try to find the manual online. I told him the manual is large and how can they throw it away. He said things happen. He hung up on me.I called back and asked to speak with Ray the owner, I told the owner that I need the manual and that I will need to drive back tomorrow to pick it up. I further told Ray that the technician took my rear license plate special key and that I need that key back should I need to remove the license plate down the road. The owner told me that they threw away the manual. I told the owner I was just there 1/2 an hour ago and how can it be destroyed. I told the owner that after I go through the unit, I saw another guy’s information that he put it inside. The owner yelled at me and hung up.I called back and ask the owner why did he hung up on me... he yelled at me, threatened me, and hung up the phone again. So I got cheated so I called the credit card bank and told them what had happened with this seller.The blue tooth works very sporadically and unable to connect to both my wife’s iPhone nor my iPhone. It is almost $1,400 unit and this can’t be happening. The owner of the shop seemed not to care about me after he got the money. No manual, no product registration, the blue tooth connecting sporadically & dropping 90% of times. The back up camera fails after the second day — going complete blank. (see enclosed pictures)Now I don’t want the unit anymore, I want to refund, and I want to have Bestbuy or at another merchant to remove the unit and I send back to Discount Car Stereo. I also want the Discount Car Stereo Shop to pay for the removal of the unit as well as the costs of sending it back to them. I don’t want to do business with then. They have verbally threatened and therefore I will let the authorities handle this matter.To add further to the insult, the installer left grease marks all over the car & panel. The workmanship is subpar. (see enclosed pictures)Updates 3-3-2021While driving the car which only has 19k miles, the rear panels rattle. It is so out of place and very annoying. So after a careful review, I noticed 6 or so of the plastic clips holding the rear panels had broken off and it lodges inside the metal of the car. Both the plastics & the loose panels were making rattling sounds through vibrations. I lost 2-1/2 hours driving to Autozone, in which they did not have, and then to the Toyota Dealership in which they did not have and needed special orders at $3.50 each piece. The problems are beyond my expectations! Painfully. I sort of found out that these people will bully those customers who they think are nice or not knowledgeable. I will let the City Judge knows.

I took my car there today and spent 500 for an installation I provided the radio door speakers and purchased the rear speakers from them. I pick my car up and it’s making a whining noise when you press the gas. The owner said they’d look at it when I took it back. I gave them 2 new speakers for the door and they installed one and left 1 that was in the car and kept my other new speaker. I knew it was the same speaker cause the tweeter is cracked and they didn’t leave anything from the parts that were already in the car. Bad business

I needed speakers and an amp installed on my Honda Accord but I wanted to keep the factory radio. They did an excellent job, and had my car back to me in about 4 hours.I went back to have my bass adjusted to more of a hit that I was use to with no issues. I got a quote from them for 4 speakers, a 12 sub and box and a 5 channel amp along with the kit and their total quote was $500 less than House of Sound. No more trips to House of Sound for me, Im sticking with this place.I also had a system put in my Camry (Radio, door & rear speakers, a 12 sub and an amp to push the sub. It did take 7 hours to complete but the results were worth it. It sounds great for just 1000 bucks. Cant beat the price for the work they did and the sound. The controls on the steering wheel work with the radio as well as the back up camera. Just check out the photos to see the great job they did.

I recently got my speakers changed there along with a sub. As soon as I stepped inside they treated me like family and made sure I was aware of the pros and cons of everything. They were extremely clear about pricing and installation time. 100% worth it. Even if you want to simply learn a bit more before investing this is the place to go.

These are the guys to go to for reasonable prices and a friendly atmosphere. With everything I wanted done most places said I would have to leave my car for a couple of days. But when I found this place they did it in a few hours and the installation was above par. I would highly recommend this place. They will always be the ones I go to from now on.

I recently just purchased a pioneer car stereo, LED interior lights and a remote starter for my 2010 Camaro and I say these guys are absolutely good at what they do. Bad service. took my 2014 silverado for amplifier installation an speakers,only they burn my door speakers mest up my stereo my backup camera.they left my truck outside overnight took my truck keys an still had to pay 200 for the mest up installation.

Brought my car here to get the windows tinted. The people that put the window tint did not clean the windows from the inside and now there’s white dots on the tint because of the trash the window had and if they would have clean it it would’ve come out better and the cuts on the tints are bad I could’ve done a better job then them and came here because friend recommended me and would never in my life come here or recommend someone. PLEASE DONT BRING YOUR CAR HERE YOU ARE GOING TO REGRET IT!

Great customer service! I was a bit nervous about getting a sound system setup in my car but now I’m thankful I did. I’m really impressed with the quality of music! Thanks to Ray and his team for providing great experience to a first time customer. I even got to catch up on Netflix shows while I waited lol.As I binged Netflix shows in the store, I started to hear music blasting loud nearby with deep bass. Thinking it was a car along the highway passing by, I paid no attention to it. Then Ray tells me my car is ready and I’m thinking, wow! that’s my car banging like that. Surely enough it was! They asked me to come back when I got my head unit for my car so I did. Overall was it decent experience, the only reason that Im giving them a 3 and not a 5 is because when I got my car back I had a few new rips and tears in my interior, and when I asked the installer about it he said he didnt know how they got there. And Im a real stickler about getting my things back in the same condition that it was in before the work was done. Other than that I dont have too much to complain about.

I was in town just for the weekend. I contacted several other places in the area and the price and labor time i was given was expensive. I contacted Ray and although he was busy, he took the time to talk to me on the phone and explain to me several options he had within 15 minutes. I ended going to the store that day and we talked about what I was looking for and gave me a price range. I was blown away by the price and the quality of system I was given. Fantastic place for car and window/tint installation....... expertise at its finest!

Went to them to get some subs that I already had installed and also purchase some mid range speakers and maps and I really am not satisfied. The guys didnt know how to wire up my subs and blew one out instantly, and after a month and a half I can only hear out of the passenger side of my truck. Another bad part is that from the very beginning I couldnt hear the alerts from my truck and went I have a phone call, I cant hear the other person. Honestly, the worst part of all of this is that the installers placed the sub power output knob in a spot to where the little light blinds me when Im driving at night.

Very helpful although we couldnt fix my new radio that I had gotten with my new car the employee was more than willing to do whatever it took to try to fix it. And I like that somebody that has initiative and has awesome work ethics

They are the Best Worst Installers in Houston I brought a radio from them and let them install it and they Did a Good job of MESS UP MY INTERIOR and try to fix it with rubber glue... I recommend to only buy your product here. Don't let the high-school drop out installers touch your car.

I first opted for a less expensive Boss audio stereo, they had it installed the next day after ordering the kit, and I was to work on time as promised, and as the day went by i think it was two days later I called Mohammed and asked if he would allow me to exchange it, I didnt really like it, He was right and I should have listened to him, Either way I went the very next day and chose the Pioneer that I really wanted with all the bells and whistles, and I also was out and ready before it was time to make it to work. Run the other way!! Purchased a radio from them also had a amp and 2 subs installed, I’ve been having trouble with car draining battery Every since never had this problem before they did work. Finally fed up had someone take a look at wiring when they pulled out radio wires where hanging out, radio with fade in and out found out why they had a wood screw stuck in back of the radio instead of just plugging in the antenna. They charged me for wire harness but there was not one just spliced wires everywhere, charged me for radio mount there was not one they just screwed it into dashboard frame. On top of that my parking brake release lever is missing they said it was missing when I gave them car that’s a lie, had a pop a lock kit in trunk for over year that came up missing as well . I’m just so frustrated with what they did just in process of getting car redone and counting my losses a lesson learned. Just got my Mercedes whole audio system redone here because of the the errors that another shop did on my car. my car audio was just not right. now, i can definitely tell the difference. they fixed all the issues, put in a new 7 inch pioneer unit in my car, new amp and rewired the whole thing at a great price. definitely check them out, they also have the best prices in town and above all they are honest. that i know for sure you cant find everywhere. also they have one of the lowest installation cost in town, better than fry s or best buy. thank you DISCOUNT CAR STEREO

Just be prepared onto your car goes into the back and they take it apart they start telling you need modules extra and you cant start it any more. You end up spending around 200 to 300 hundred more from what they tell you at first.

One of the best audio installation experiences. Ray took care of my installation, gave me options of speakers to choose from and let me decide. They walked that extra mile to make sure my microphone on bluetooth phone and USB/ AUX was placed properly to my requirements- very fine attention to detail. If I can save just one person from getting an install there it would be all worth it. The installer that worked on my new vehicle was so incompetent he didnt know his left from his right even when the product had it labeled on it. If thats not bad enough, when I starting uncovering and tracing back the work I couldnt see I found extra drilling broken & stripped screws.They will tell you they can do a job even if they have never done it before. They will give you a time frame for a job, be prepare to wait twice that time if your lucky. I have a warranty for installation but I chose to pay extra to get it done right. Im convinced that any higher rating than what I give them are people they actually know or were very fortunate. BUYER BEWARE !

Came in for some speaker wire for my wife truck, wound up getting a whole Memphis system for my 2014 GMC Sierra. I had shopped around for some speakers, happened to walk in and hands down best price. On top of that no credit 100 day no interest, couldn’t say no.

I went to Discount Car Stereo after having my truck broken into, so I could get a new stereo. Ray, one of the owners, was more than helpful with my dilemma. I ended up purchasing an impressive stereo with bluetooth, so I am now hands free while on the phone, and I purchased a top of the line alarm as well... all at very reasonable prices. I also ended up coming back just a few days later and purchased a double sub woofer kit and power amp for my back seat! Im going back again today to have my windows tinted, and I have come up with more things that I would like them to do to improve my vehicle. The service was wonderful and personable, and they even have a two sofa waiting area with a big screen tv to relax as you wait! I definitely recommend this place as a quality car enhancement center, and look forward to continued business with them.

Not a professional atmosphere. I had my whole system done by them and they didnt secure my box in after they installed it. My fiance got new door and rear speakers for me for Christmas from them, first the speakers were very low quality then the drivers side door speaker blew so my fiance took it up there and exchanged it for what he thought was the same, brand new speaker but when him and his friend installed it in my car they saw that it was a completely different speaker and it was blown. When i went back with my fiance to exchange that one, the owner Ray was very confrontational about the whole situation. I will not be returning and i encourage my friends and family to go elsewhere for their car audio needs.

Installers are unprofessional and do not know what theyre doing. They broke clips on several plastic parts of my vehicle and I witnessed them fist hammering apart that was not snapping into place breaking the clips on it.I suggest you go somewhere else and pay a little bit more. You will be happier.

I have been here twice so far. once to install my audio unit and once to install speakers i purchased myself. I believe in giving credit where credit is due. I have a red 2002 Ford Escort ZX2 and Ali is the man. I have had no problems with them what so ever. I am now bumping some of the best audio sound i have had in my vehicle thanks to him and his crew. the prices are unbelieveably reasonable. Their service is some of the best in the city. I had to wait a minute but i always bring magazines and stuff to read because even with the right equipment these guys are professionals and it gets done right. My hats off to the guys in the back and Ali for both jobs being well done. Now its going to be three. Just got my satellite receiver in yesterday! Kudos to Ali and his crew and so far i dont plan on going amywhere else.
