I love the pan dulce here. This is my go to place for the sweet bread. However, I ordered/purchased a cake for my daughters 1st communion and while it was a beautifully decorated cake, it was very dry. For $72, I would have liked a better tasting moist cake. There was hardly any strawberry filling in the layers either. I wont be ordering a cake from there again.
One of my favorite places to go when Im on the Northside of town. Make a quick stop in, pick up a pan and a set of tongs. And pick up pan dulce (sweet bread) to your hearts desire. My favorite are the cream cheese flower cups. The line can sometimes be long but it moves quick and the prices are well worth it.
I LOVE THIS PLACE! There pricing is super cheap for good bread and they have this cute feel when you go in. I love it
This place is an experience! Tons of great food to choose from. And its all so inexpensive, you can walk out with a big variety for < $20. I sampled about 8 diff things and liked them all. Plus, the workers are super friendly and helpful. I cant wait to go back.
Definitely recommend the cakes and the bread! I came from a different state and I definitely loved this place.Muy ricos los pasteles y el pan. Definitivamente recomiendo este lugar.
Authentic Mexican breads, a great variety and great bresh baked goods.Conchas, pan d muerto, bolillos, fresh made flour tortillas, and great selection of tres leches cakes along with chocoflan and more...Love it
Mexican bread for days and days. Super awesome place, a must go.
Ive been loyally coming to this bakery since I was a child. Unfortunately they lost an important birthday cake order and completely ruined the day. I phoned in the order on Friday morning, came to pay for it Friday night. And on Saturday afternoon, the cake order was missing. Dont come here if your cake is for an important event.
Great little local shop. Great options, especially considering most items are less than $2. Some menu items are much better than others, but theres plenty of choices for everyone. Definitely come here at some point while in Houston!
OMG!!Anyone who hasnt been HAS to go.All 4 walls have bins filled with baked goods as well as several shelf carts that are LOADED with additional items. They have as many as 6 people checking you out at one time and they still had lines, but the wait wasnt long.Food is amazing, shop is clean, staff is efficient, nice, and patient.Honestly, this is a must if you have never been.
I went to look for a last minute cake I needed and they had a few to choose. It was not only beautiful but tasted delicious. The bread is always fresh.
Such a cute place. I love all the desserts and they taste amazing. The prices are very reasonable. It can get pretty busy, but understandably so since they are so good. Highly recommend this bakery and their other locations.
Good Mexican sweetbread. Good Tres Leches cake for all occasions. You can order or buy on the spot. Homemade tortillas and bolillos. Very popular place.
Really enjoy their desserts. Place is clean and great taste.
I’ve been coming here for years and years and I’ve gotten my friends hooked so any time I make the trip out there, I end up buying for at least 15 people! My favorites will always be the cream filled pastries but everything is good there. The people who work there have always been so kind and friendly. Love love love it.
The freshest most authentic Mexican bread in Houston. Its worth the trip from Cypress to get some of the pastry favorites.
The bread and cakes are extremely delicious. That being said, for those of you conscious of COVID or hygiene of any sort ... it is always packed and the bread is self serve and unpackaged. They also have the fresh bread out on rolling racks directly in front of the entrance and not covered at all. Personally I find this very unhygienic. I have not purchased their sweet bread since the pandemic. I would trust the cakes though as they are kept behind glass and only touched by employees.
This place is the best EVER! Pan dulce de lo mejor!!!
The bread was so good always go here no matter what im a real person what a bot would say but im real bread was so goooood
Wow. Place was something else so mucha bread. So clean and friendly. The lowes prices i seen in a long time. It was worth my 25 minutes drive. Dont forge the tamales
The bolillos alone are worth 5 stars, but some of the pastries are also amazing. On top of that the prices are very low. A great H Town place
Love the bakery. Sweet bread and coffee. Cant go wrong. Great for breakfast...
What can I say about El Bolillo Bakery that you dont already know. One of the best Mexican style bakeries in town. Exceptional prices, great variety of sweet and savory bread. Warm home style flour and wheat tortillas. Also sells tasty tres leches cakes and they offer custom made cakes for all types of occasions.
First time at El Bolillo Bakery, highly recommend for a large variety of sweet breads and desserts! While there, they were constantly replenishing with fresh items. I bought several different breads, cookies, croissants, empanadas, and muffins. My favorite are the maranitos! About 2 trays full for only $20. It was quite busy around 11am and only 1 person per family was allowed in. They sanitize your hands before entering but no gloves available to use for tongs or opening the cabinets.
Cake exceeded my expectations ! This is the picture design I picked, but they designed my cake even more beautiful in person. My party theme was purple and lavender, and they were so accommodating to everything I wanted. I could tell they took their time on my cake design, and I will be definitely ordering another cake from them in the future !
For the 4th of July I decided to try out the chocolate tres leches with raspberry filling and chocolate icing. It was delicious. They don’t always have it available in stock so I decided to order it. It was a big hit. Will be buying it again.
Bread here is good. It’s busy all the time
I love Mexican pastry. I had not been here before. The shop is big; lots to choose from, friendly people.
As I walked outside passing by this store, the smell lifted me like a cartoon character and made me enter this bakery. Lovely cozy place with lots of variety of baked goodies. Breads, donuts and cakes and other sweets. Its a shame Im not eating any carbs. Grab your insulin shot and go on in this bakery store.
Mucha variedad de pan, beautiful cakes, the place is kept well clean and smells amazing
Amazing bread. Order a delicious cake for a special occasion or come for a quick treat.
Great pastries, bread and now tamales. Wonderful service.
A friend recommended this place so I went and I really enjoyed it the colors are extremely vibrant the flavors of all the baked goods are delicious and everything keeps coming out fresh regardless of the time you walk in with a big tray and fill it up however you please go to the register and its so cheap
I love this place! Best pan in Houston❤️
Always fresh and stocked. Only wish checking out was better organized.
One of the best panaderias in town. You will not be disappointed with the variety of Mexican pastries and of course the taste.
It was. Berry Bessy and have many delicious sweet bread
Always fresh pastries we live in Texas when go to Houston thats one of our stops on our way home great service and Mexican pastries.
It is a very good Bakery to go and buy some good delicious bread
Love their breads and cakes everything is delicious. Even that I live far its worth the time
Delicious bread I recommend 😋 👌
This is definitely one of the best places to buy all your goodies . Excellent
Best bolillos and tortillas around and good pan dulce!
Always fresh pastries we live in Bryan Texas when go to Houston thats one of our stops on our way home great service and Mexican pastries.
Number #1 Mexican bakery in all of Houston. Best Jalapeño bread, Churros and Tortillas. Their Tres Leches is out of the world awesome!
The best pan dulce you will have in your life!
Heaven in a bakery. Must stop in Houston. Plan to bring home goodies.
It’s a Mexican bakery with wide variety of options with less price . We bought so many items most of them seem to be fresh .Tres Leches is indeed awesome . But only problem is they have not mentioned the item name for all the stuffs which is very difficult to chose if you are non Mexican as we don’t know the item name and ingredients . I would suggest naming all the items so that we can identify easily. And the cashiers don’t understand English much so difficult to communicate with them.
Ive tried lots of others, but this is the best Pan Dulce in town.
❤ this panaderia. Ive been coming here most of my life and never disappointed. 🥰
I come from Louisiana and I always come here to buy fresh Mexican bread.
Great variety, and inexpensive prices. Worth trying, if you are in the area.
I would rate it a 3.5, employees from this location are always very rude and disrespectful . I once ordered a cake and they gave me my order wrong and didn’t fix anything . Cakes are beautiful but overpriced . However Bolillo and pan are amazing at this location i will not be purchasing cakes but recommend the bread
I absolutely loved this place! Very unique, cute, and fun to explore! Discovered this on my Instagram and because I knew Id be visiting family in Cypress, I just knew I had to convince them to go when I went and I have zero regrets. You walk in and you immediately get the scent of freshly baked bread. Very inexpensive, I got at least 2 sweet bread for each person (6 people) and paid just less than $15. I wound up with a rainbow concha and it was very delicious. The customer service was excellent and speedy!I highly recommend this place! Its also easy to find if youre a tourist.
The worst customer service ever! Every single employee there is rude! They don’t greet you at all and when you ask for help they look at you like you are crazy and don’t answer! Where were these people trained???!!!!!! Never returning again!! Regret with a passion getting a cake here!!
OMG THIS PLACE HAS THE BEST MEXICAN BAKERY ITEMS! Everything is made with quality and care! We recommend and will definitely be back!!!!
I love this place. Been going here since I was a kid. Before they opened one up on Airline.
Easy to select pastries and checkout.
Always the best pan dulce!
Lady was so helpful, I was feeling bad and she was so kind and fixed up my order so beautiful and presentable 🍰🍪🎂🍩🧁🍪
This place might be good for fresh bread, sweet bread, stuff like that. If you’ll order cakes like a tres leches cake, stay away. There’s no tres leches in that dry cake. I know it’s affordable, but charge a couple of bucks more and make it right. Tres leches aint supposed to be some dry cake with some whip cream on it.
OMG. fresh sweet bread ALWAYS
Great 👍 I love 💘 the tamales
I lived a few blocks from zEl Bolillo for years and went there regularly. I love their fruit pies and tortillas. I now live two hours away, but always stop by when Im in Houston. Easy shopping, clean, nice friendly folks, great prices and rapid checkout. Love this place.
The bread is awesome I loved a bread that looks like an s and its feeling is cajeta oh and also it has the top part like a concha... the bread was sooo soft 🤤
The cakes and bread are really good but im pretty disapointed how it came out. Sunflowers do not look anything alike, like the picture i uploaded you can tell which one is the RESULT, and... same picture i gave them for the type of cake i exactly wanted. Not happy at all! Flowers just look ridiculous compare to ones with other cake.
This place is bakery heaven on earth. It’s cream cheese empanadas and sweet bread is absolutely delicious. I will be stopping by every time I visit Houston. Please open one in Corpus Christi. 🙏❤️
Authentic Mexican bakery, usually a line down the sidewalk so wear comfy shoes & pack your patience. Priced well, but the only thing I dislike is not all pastries are properly labeled with name or ingredients so youre left trying to figure out what items are. The tortillas are amazing, get two packs & thank me later!
This place has good pan de dulce. Best at everything. Must try it.Tres Leche cakes are awesome. 😀👍
Good, inexpensive. What more do you want?
Been going to this place for over 10 years best bread in town but lately if you order your cakes with time they always mess up your order so make sure you check it before you leave.
My go to bakery for all pastry/cake needs. Absolutely enjoy their “enamorados”. They are a doughnut like pastry with creme or Bavarian filling. You have to go early as they run out pretty fast.
I love el bolillo bakery but after this last visit it’s evident that they lack some food handling/ sanitary protocols. Noticed the lady bringing out the fresh bread from the back, she was opening the doors which every customer had touched and then with those same gloves grabbing the bread by hand and consolidating them into less trays. Called the store and spoke to the manager Miriam to express my concern and her only comment was that they haven’t found a better way to do it so if I knew of a better way to tell her, completely careless. It’s as easy as grabbing the bread with tongs or changing gloves out after opening the doors so you won’t contaminate the food as your grabbing it. GROSS!
Still great pan dulce despite all these years and catering to the white folks nowadays. Still keeping it real for the Mexicanos
The tres leches cake i purchased was under cooked! It was horrible! I literally had to throw away entire cake. What a waste!
