Local Foods has been a local favorite of mine. Ive been to all but one location and each one has been great! The food looks, tastes and feels fresh and I never feel heavy after eating there. Recently as of last year they have been selling their own groceries which I believe is organic. They also sell wine, beer, snacks and more based on location. I typically like trying something new but I cant get away from the Garden Sammie! I am not an artichoke fan but this sandwich makes me one, especially with chicken added. The Crunchy chicken uses pretzel bun and most pretzel buns Ive had are salty but theirs was perfect. Definitely a go to no matter my hunger mood!

Wow, super super great food that was still great upon delivery! Packed perfectly, fresh, and massive portions. The harvest salad was excellent as was the crunchy chicken sandwich. Lemongrass soup was sweet and almost like a Thai curry in consistency and flavor. Definitely will order from here again!

A great cafe with quality, colorful, fresh food. Theres so much variety especially with the sides.The winter harvest salad is amazing. Probably, one of the best in Houston.The deli at the entrance is filled with some of the most interesting products.

ONE OF THE BEST PLACES for vegan selects. I just had the best vegetarian hamburger. No soybeans burger here. CREATIVENESS WITH FOOD is sole here. They also have other awesome vegan dishes I previously tried. Good place for lunch; the service is quick and customer service is great.

Free garage parking, which we have never had trouble finding a spot. Great location!!

We were looking for good fresh food and found it here. My salmon bowl was loaded with flavor and seasoned perfectly. The atmosphere was relaxed with an outdoor eating area. Avocado toast was rated delicious by my fellow diner.

Love all the local foods and this location does not disappoint. there is a lot of seating for both small and large parties and the layout is conducive to both intimate and public type atmospheres. Great place to come alone or with others. You could study, talk, or celebrate a birthday. They do serve alcohol which is a plus for most adults. Kids are always welcome in the outside spaces usually live room for little ones to run around. The upstairs is small, but very cozy. Great for catching up. The seating along San Felipe is bright and sunny making you feel like youre a part of the city. The food is always very fresh and the drink choices are varied. Many seasonal options. Sensitive to vegetarian vegan and dietary needs. Friendly staff. Great aesthetic. Always very clean. Theres a great outside space behind which has a lot of seating. Excellent for weekend get-togethers.

Simple, trendy interior and ambiance, with bar seating, high tables, round tables and booths. Healthy menu with diverse range of options (from pizza to curry). Drinks are delicious with a healthy ingredient twist. Would be a 5 star if not for its slow service on a Sat night. Plenty of staffs, but a dedicated server system. Took 20 min before getting a menu and service; and equally long before getting the server to come pick up our credit card.

I’ve never had a bad meal at Local Foods, their dishes are consistent no matter the location. In fact, they continue to surprise my tastebuds over the years! They are skilled at paring complimentary flavors whether it be a gourmet sandwich or something more healthy like soup or salad. My family will surely continue to visit this Houston establishment for years to come!

Great lunch spot. Ive eaten at other local food locations and this one is my top favorite. Its probably the friendly staffs and cozy interior.With COVID, I definitely see less people dining in and their store layout has been changed a bit. They sell food, sauces and snack in the corner as well as have limited coffee menu.But there still was something for me, I ordered latte and salmon poke bowl. The salmon poke bowl was so delicious. They gave me generous amount of salmon and the bowl portion overall was just right, didnt leave me bloated. The latte tastes great.You can park at the garage next door. I will be back :)

You can never go wrong at local foods. They are very consistent in their taste their service and their smiles. I will say that the organization and flow of this location is a little bit different than others but it did not deter the quality of the service or the experience. Definitely a return trip is in order.

It was very nice inside! Compact but I didnt feel cramped. Its in a small apartment complex courtyard which was really cool. Had the weather been nice it would have been cool to sit outside. And the food was absolutely delicious. I had the Avocado BLT and the potato salad and broccoli salad. SO AMAZING. I would absolutely go back here, the entire menu looked amazing and Im upset I couldnt try all of it!

The service here was good. We went to sit outside to dine and a lady walking her dog allowed the dog to pee on the wall. It was unsightly and unhygienic. I think property management needs to do more to enforce these kinds of things dont happen. Otherwise, the service inside of the restaurant was good. Very friendly helpful people.

Girl who is attending Uber Drivers today August 31, 2021 is very rude. She wanted I tabbed on the button of “Start Delivery” for give me the order that I trying to delivery for. She do not understand we do not have a Boss. We decide which order to pick up or which one not. Somebody has to explain her, because she is obstructing our business.

Very chíc and trendy place. The food is outstanding, and it has definitely become one of our office go-to locations for a nice lunch. I am especially fond of the crunchy chicken sandwich, a sandwich of thick slices of chicken piled between two slices of delicious pretzel bread with a layer of crunchy nuts and crisp cucumber. The egg salad is also pretty outstanding, and my party also tried the grilled french toast, which was scrumptious.The restaurant itself is located inside the courtyard of the Tanglewood Apartments. It shares the courtyard with a spa and another restaurant, Dish Society. The courtyard itself is very pretty and males for a great dining atmosphere, but the downside of that is that all three businesses share the same parking lot. This is usually not a big deal since the fact that its in an apartment complex means that theres an attached parking garage, but that garage can fill up during peak dining hours, which can be a bit of a headache considering the upper levels of the garage are reserved for tenants.All in all, I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone willing to listen. The food is great, never fails to taste fresh, and the staff is friendly.

There is something so refreshing and unique about a healthy restaurant that doesn’t sacrifice VALUE! Local Foods serves up amazing dishes for great prices and you walk away satisfied, not dying for more like most health-focused spots. The salads are huge and the sandwiches come with complementary sides! In my opinion anything with the Brussels Sprouts are a must try.This location was fast, clean, and busy for lunch!

Great local restaurant with a large variety of menu choices. For the health conscious and for those that are on the fringe. We had the sea food sandwich and the roast beef. The sea food was outstanding and I need to order it again. The Thai slaw was also outstanding and a must order. The roast beef was good, but the chips were too oily. The vegan queso was interesting and not high on my list of flavors I enjoy.

Very healthy, very yummy. Ordered the Taco salad which came with Tempeh taco protein, and added chicken. Portion was huge and fresh, two meals worth! Menu looks like anyone could order their healthy eating plan, Vegan, etc. This will be my go to place for nutritious + delicious. Take out and inhouse dining are convenient with great service

TL;DR - unique decoration and setting. Worth a try.Imagine you can stop at your local grocery store and to pick up some excellent brunch food at the same time. This is the vibe of this location. There are some wine, beer, and grocery items on the shelf.The food and service are good. We got the Ribs and Grits and the Egg Sandwich. Both are a little bit on the salty side.The restaurant has plastic glasses set up in between tables and counter space. Overall, they have all the proper protection setup.

Causal restaurant with incredibly delicious food! I also loved the architecture, the industrial lights, and the fun atmosphere. And the vegetarian main dish (I added shrimp) was enough for two people. If I only lived here, Id have a nice lunch tomorrow.

Everything Ive had here was delicious. Most recently I had the crispy Brussel sprouts (burrata and hazelnuts were a nice touch) and Pozole (very tasty with lots of chicken).

If you’re local you know this place goes through phases. Sometimes they are the best ever and other times it’s meh on meh and not worth the expense. You can always tell a place is on its last leg when they have to convert part of the place into selling trinkets and goods. I hope this is not the case for them because I put up with the meh on meh Phases just because I like the bar and the staff is nice.

I had the Grilled Salmon Caesar with bacon and avocado. It was AMAZING! The salmon came out undercooked and the manager had my salad remade. He also gave me a gift card and made another Salmon Caesar to go for the inconvenience. Best Customer Service!

This is a horrible restaurant. I walked in to get the DoorDash orders. The guy asked me if I had a mask while everyone else inside was WITHOUT masks. I said no. He handed me one. I put the mask on. I was being nice to the guy and followed his instructions.When I reached to get the doors bag (which is a part of my job), the guy suddenly got angry. He started shouting “don’t touch my baagggsss”And he kicked me out of the restaurant.I am surprised and offended by the treatment of the guy. I don’t understand what went wrong. The only thing is I DIDN’T DO ANYTHING TO DESERVE THIS TREATMENT.

Went here for lunch. Once we ordered our food it was brought to the table quickly. I was happy to see they started to provide recyclable paper straws. Staff was very friendly. Will definitely visit again.

I’m a big fan of this local chain, mostly for the high quality of their sandwiches and salads. This particular location has the added charm of a lovely outdoors patio where you can pretend you’re somewhere in Europe... Not cheap for sandwiches, but definitely worth it!

I love Local Foods, but lately, the Tanglewood location has been missed the mark every time.My fiancé and I order out from here about once a week. The past several times we have gone, something has been wrong every single time. There is almost always an item or topping missing. Or theres an item that was not removed. We have had to drive back on several occasions to get the food that is missing. It happened again TODAY and we are truly fed up with this location. When we reached out to the manager about these issues, they tried to rectify it by comping some meals. However, every almost every single one of these meals were missing items as well. We will never return to this location. We will no longer continue to order and pay for food we do not receive and have to go back to get. You might think, oh why dont you check the bag? Well, they package it up differently every single time so its never consistent. Well think we have everything and then go home to take everything out of the bag and every time one or two items end up missing.

The crunchy chicken, and egg sandwiches are both awesome. Sandwiches come with two sides, always end up really full. Ive not had a single complaint when bringing people there, consistently good food. Parking in the garage structure is a pain when its busy on the weekends though.

Excellent service and beautiful ambiance.We came in rather early and got a great spot by one of the windows. I cant recall what my husband got, but I got the BLT and it was AMAZING. I was expecting it be greesy and just mayo flavored but I was pleasantly surprised. The bacon was crisp, the bread was nice and toasted, and the egg was very nicely seasoned which made for a yummy experience.They have a great little mini mart portion of the store with a selection of take home items too ranging from pasta to desserts to wine!Love this location and we will definitely be cómo back soon!

Absolutely hands down the best eatery in Tanglewood. When I visited the first time I had their burger on the pretzel bun, and boy oh boy was it amazing. Today I had their shrimp cobb salad and ate the entire salad! Besides the food the main reason for my review is Daniel! I was super curious, yet skeptical about the vegan carrot cake and what made it vegan. He took the time to explain and sale it to me. When he noticed I was still skeptical he offered it to me for free, because he was so sure it was nothing less than amazing. I really appreciated his passion for his products and his overall amazing customer service. But let me tell you! The carrot cake!!! I am in love! He will see me back just for it. On my cheat days of course! :)

Wow, I eat here quite often and it’s always been so good. Til today. I had RAW chicken in my salad; so many pieces of raw chicken, not just one. I called to let them know. They said they would remake my salad (without chicken, of course) and give me my money back. When I went to the restaurant, I asked for the manager, Ryan, whom I spoke with on the phone. I showed him the chicken and he handed my my salad. He said he would apply credit to my account...? I asked for cash, but he said no. Why? Anyway, I hope that credit is there... Check your meat, folks!

This was my first time here. My friends and I stopped in here to get a bite to eat after running errands. This place has great ambiance and nice decor. The cashier was very bubbly and friendly and was able to help one of my friends with some suggestions on what to get. I ordered the vegan spinach dip with a vegan carrot cake cupcake on the side. One of my friends ordered the shrimp sandwich with a chocolate cupcake and the other ordered the seafood gumbo with a chocolate cupcake. We also had a my friends niece with us and she wanted grilled cheese and pizza bread. Our food was sooo good! Its really a cute place within the Tanglewood area so its close to plenty of shops. Definitely great for a casual date and is kid and vegan friendly!I will surely add this to my list of places to return to!

Im not a healthy food kinda person and I love this place, which boasts healthy locally sourced foods. There is plenty for everyone. This location in particular is the best in town, sadly the spot in the Heights does not have the attention to detail as this place.

The chicken pozole was really good! It had a good flavor and the pumpkin seeds gave it a little extra cruch/flavor. However, the tacos were disppointing. The shrimp tasted good but they were cold. The double corn tortilla is unnecessary. The coleslaw and salsa were sloppily added and had no flavor. Not fun to eat; just a big mess.

My new go to happy hour hamburger! Only$8 for a great gourmet Burger. The flavor was perfect, toasted bun, meat cooked perfectly. Another great thing was that is wasnt crowded. Servers were all very friendly. Restaurant was spotless and had a beautiful day. The chocolate cupcakes was also delicious.Im really looking forward to getting to try the other happy hour menu items. Love the atmosphere! Free parking garage. The inside is eclectic, and clean, with modern lighting and tall ceilings. The food was delicious; their red potato salad was a little too dilly, but everyone I ate with enjoyed their foods. Their agave sparkler is delicious, not too sweet. Enjoy!

OMG!!! I absolutely LOVE their food!!! Lots of vegan options. The 🥨 bread is awesome. I substituted the chicken for shrimp on the crunchy chicken sandwich. The parking garage at the San Felipe location gets crowded fast and is kind of small. But it’s worth the trip.

The specials are always a good choice, along with the egg salad sandwich.

They have the best vegan taco salad ever! Other food there is really good, and the prices are decent. If you go make sure to go during all time, as it gets really busy at lunch.

Tasty and unique creations sourced from local farms. They have some staple menu items, but many weekly and seasonal specials. Vegetarian and Vegan options are available. They offer excellent wine selections as well as wine and Sake craft cocktails. Ive eaten here several times for lunch and the Truffle Egg Salad sandwich is my go-to for lunch. Tonight was my first time to try options on their dinner menu. My first choice selection, grilled shrimp, was out, but Im pleased that I then elected to order the cheeseburger. It was hands down one of the tastiest cheeseburgers that Ive ever had. I also really enjoyed the grapefruit sangria made from a Rose wine...sweeter than I typically drink, yet I found it very refreshing. Now, that Ive sampled the dinner menu, I wont be going to Local Foods just for lunch. Its a great choice if you want upscale food but dont want to dress up! Highly recommend!
