I brought my bike in on Sunday and the guys in the store were friendly but said that they couldnt properly diagnose the clicking sound in my crankset until Monday when Tim would be there.I called to check on it in the late morning and Tim hadnt looked yet, but he called back in the afternoon explaining what it needed, what the cost would be, etc. He seemed incredibly thorough and I was confident he would do a great job.At the end of the day on Tuesday he called and told me the bike was ready - faster than he quoted, and he explained everything that he did. I picked it up and had a great ride today. He not only fixed the clicking sound, but he gave the bike a full tune-up, replaced a cable, and did an A+ job. I felt like I was on a brand new bike, rather than on my seven year old Giant. Thanks Tim!

The pandemic has made shopping for bikes hard. So hard, in fact, that I had to buy the model I wanted (Salsa Journeyman) used from Florida and have it shipped to me. The pieces miraculously arrived in tact a week later. Knowing little about bike assembly, I called HB Cycles to see if they could help. Sweet biscuits and gravy! Im glad I did!Elliott answered my call with a positive, can-do attitude which made it clear to me Id be in good hands. The store is easily spotted from Beach Blvd, with plenty of parking. They have a bit of everything in their store. These guys are amazing! I was in the market for my first tri bike, they let me test ride a couple bikes and told me to really go for a ride to get to know the bike, not just around the lot. They gave me a great deal on the bike and hooked me up with a great discount on a pair of shoes too. They also made sure to mention that the bike gets free tunes for life when you buy it from them!

This shop is amazing if you buy from their store its literally worth it. Then do everything for you. For free. If you need to get a bike trailer hooked to your bike cuz youre scared to do it yourself these guys will do it for you for free. They do monthly maintenance on your bike for free as well. But its for only 2 years then after you pay like 80 or something but still really good. Love this place. I dont mind driving all the from Compton to come here

I took my wifes bike in to get the gears fixed. The staff were very nice and helpful. They quickly diagnosed the issue and they are fixing the bike as I write this.I could tell the place is highly respected. Its a small shop, but there were a ton of people there. The staff at HB Cycles is amazing. Im new to cycling and bought and resold a couple of used bikes until I find just what I was looking for. Ive taken several bikes here for minor things like brake pad replacement and shifter adjustment. Theyve always done these minor repairs quickly and reasonably priced. Some small things theyve done on the spot while I waited and didnt even charge me anything. Everybody Ive dealt with here was nice, respectful, patient and attentive. Nobody made me feel foolish for my noob questions. Such a nice change of pace after not so good experiences at Jax. I wouldnt go anywhere else. I definitely highly recommend.

I brought my Specialized Enduro S5 Expert in for an upgrade from an aluminum SRAM GX to a carbon SRAM X01 crankset and an aluminum Specialized 800mm to carbon Deity Speedway 810mm handlebars upgrade for hand fatigue and on both visits was very impressed by their professionalism and patients for my many questions. I would highly recommend this establishment for being so professional and using the right tools (torque wrenches) to get the job done.

This shop is awesome, great service and they will keep you informed the whole time they work on your bike. Also their bike selection is pretty healthy. If you need any service I highly recommend them.

At first glance I thought this place was just another bike retailer, but in the back of the store there are actually many highly skilled & knowledgeable mechanics that according to them have found themselves working much longer shifts to meet the increased demands of the community. The turnaround rate was pretty much the same as many of the shops in the area but at least if you drop a cycle off here you have the confidence of knowing that you will get the best service available on your bike. Very satisfied new loyal customer.

Went in to get a seat post for my new seat, was expecting to spend some money, guy was very nice i forgot his name had blonde hair but he took off the seat post from the old seat and installed it on the new one took less than 5 minutes. My bike shop of choice! Theyre a smaller shop so they dont have quite as much stock as some of the competitors. But the stock is quite varied for the size of the shop.Things are insanely busy right now in the biking world due to covid, but I came in for some brake/gear adjustments and they took a look at my bike right away. I was in and out in 20 minutes, and the price was very competitive. Ill always recommend this shop!

This place was amazing. First off the staff is super helpful and knowledgeable. This wasn’t my first attempt to find a bike shop but I’m so lucky to have ran into these guys. Not only did they listen to my needs but they gave me great advice. Secondly they DO WORK!!! They had my bike ready with in an hour an half with a big work load. No slouches here. Thank you guys for an amazing customer experience. As someone who thinks people just don’t care anymore you guys proved me wrong. You guys have all my bike business!

I first took my bike to Jax cycles in HB. They made we wait in line for 20 minutes before telling me they couldn’t fix my flat tire for 2 weeks.So I brought my bike to HB cycles and they took me in immediately and fixed my tire in 5 minutes. Super grateful for this shop! I came in with a dolly i needed air in and realized it was a bit of an operation. Had to seal the tire and everything. Went in and didnt pay a dime, and these people went out of there way to help me get this tire rolling. What great people, to go out of there way to do something like this when they dont have to. I highly recommend buying a bike from such good people and will be going here for all my bicycle needs.

The owner and staff are very knowledgeable, professional, friendly and have a passion for biking. I had a bike fitting performed by Jake and now cycle in a better position which has helped me ride longer and with more power and comfort. The fitting was very thorough and not rushed. Adjustments included saddle position (height, fore-aft and angulation), handlebar position (height, reach, angulation), pedal stroke analysis and proper foot fitting. Besides the outstanding service, I noticed they also have high quality parts and bikes. This shop certainly earns and deserves all these 5-star reviews!

Went in with a couple of questions and ended up talking shop for a while with Elliot. If youre a biker chick, know that Elliot wont give you attitude or mansplaining. Dont know about the other employees. I recommend this cool dude. :)

Awesome, local bike shop! Have taken both my beach cruiser and road bike here for tune ups and tires. They are super helpful! We will definitely be back.

By the time this place opens, I just lose intrests. 12:00pm. Unbelievable!!!!! Then when you arrive, You stand and wait in line and in silence until the one rude guy finally gets to you. But then, they close at 4:00pm.

I had to have some repairs done on my Jamis road bike. I was fully taken care of and explained in detail what they did to my bike. It did not cost me an arm and leg for the parts and service. Ok selection but, i walked in the door at 5:18 pm after looking on the internet that they close at 6:00 pm and he said they were closing soon i said ok, can i look around real quick?, he said yes, a women walked in right after then less then a min he said they just closed the register when i can see no one at the register. He asked me to leave. Then, the women that walked in asked can i pay with cash? And i didnt hear a response because i think he was waiting for me to leave and i did. I WILL NEVER COME BACK HERE AFTER BEING TREATED LIKE THAT!

I BOUGHT a Fuji road bike at another dealer. It was never set up right from them I brought it to the cyclist for a service. They are friendly and did a superior job dialing in my bike. Wont go any place else now!

Super great service! I purchased a stumpjumper and needed to warranty a thru axle. Often times shops are stoked to sale you the bike but cringe at helping with warranty claims. Tom was super helpful. He kept me updated and delivered on his promise. I will be back. Def earned my business and respect.

Want to thanks Tim, I went in with a broken bike and left with it fixed and he didnt even charge me. He also filled me in on other issues my bike has and about how chains stretching over time and what it does to your gears. I had no clue that you had to replace your chain over time as it stretches out or it will grove out the gear cogs. My bike needs a lot of work I have over 3 thousand miles on it with the original chain, but will most likely replace it instead and I will be going back to make a bike purchase and in the future when my bike needs a tune up.
