The ladies running this cute little shop are so perfect. In every way they helped me decide on what to do for the big day. I knew immediately which dress I wanted as soon as I put it on, even though it wasnt my size. They are so patient and helpful in everything they do, and of course I felt nothing less than beautiful on my wedding day!! Thank you ladies so much I hope I can update you with more pictures here soon!!

I originally posted my 5 star review a year ago when I first went to Modern Brides and really I wish I could give them 100 stars! I honestly cannot say enough good things about Modern Brides. Pat is so sweet, kind and made every special request for my dress come true. She is so creative and executes everything flawlessly. I found the dress of my dreams at Modern Brides and Pat came up with a way to add a sleeve that came right out of my brain and made come true. She also adjusted the bust area and added a few little modesty pieces to the bust area for a little more coverage. Everything looks flawless! Every single gal who works there is incredibly helpful, sweet and wonderful to be around. I can’t thank y’all enough for making my wedding dress dreams come true — it really means the world to me!!

The quality and style of the dresses they had to offer were so amazing that I had trouble deciding which one to get!!! But I found THE perfect one. Lindsey was SO helpful and a delight to work with. I’m excited to go back there for my daughter’s flower girl dress as well. This experience was better than I could have hoped for!

My experience at Modern Brides was incredible. From the moment I walked in I felt like family. Meredith was extremely professional and walked me through the process to make sure I was comfortable. She was sure to check on me throughout the blur of dresses and fabric and accessories to make sure I wasn’t feeling too much pressure or stress. Just wow! Modern Brides was one of my first places to look for my bridal gown. While I ultimately purchased my dress elsewhere (picky bride but they tried SO hard to please me!), I chose to have my alterations done here. I’m so glad I did! Everyone was so wonderful and supportive. They offered things that would improve my dress and they definitely knew what they were talking about. I’m very, very pleased with it!Very reasonably priced as well.Highly recommend!

We were happily surprised at the extent of prom dress here. So many to choose from and we found the perfect one. Pricing was fair and better than any where else we had looked. Everyone who works there was wonderful to us. It is now our go to shop for formals. My only regret is we did not go to Modern Bride first.

We drove 2 hours to find the perfect prom dress and we are so glad we did. My daughter found the perfect dress. I was really impressed by selection of sizes, colors and styles. We were looking for something very specific and they were the only place in town that had it. We will definitely be back!

I ordered a bridesmaids dress and received it. I had to order fabric for the dress when I found out I would be quite pregnant during the wedding. When they called and told me my dress was ready, they said that the fabric was not there yet. I called a few times and was told they did not have the fabric. Wedding was last year. I just called today and they told me the fabric had been there before the dress got there. Not sure why I would pick up my dress and NOT the fabric I needed for it to fit. This was clearly their mistake but they refuse to refund me for the fabric they they told me was not there.

Where as I would have loved to shop there, the Lauren girl wore a mask.... but I was told that I had to wear a mask, while the other is not wearing a mask. I was there to buy a dress, not a double standard.

I’ve had such a wonderful experience at Modern Brides! They pinpointed my style immediately, and my family and I had so much fun trying on dresses. I found a beautiful (and very inexpensive) dress, and Ms. Pat altered it perfectly! Everyone I encountered was sweet and accommodating and I never felt pressured to make a purchase or settle on something I didn’t love.

Poor turn around on dress alterations. I called weekly to see if the dress was ready and they kept saying no. I finally hear from them (through another bridesmaid) that they are ready...3 days before the event. The only time they could get me in is Thursday (2 days before the event). And I am not available. 2 and 3 days before an event is a busy time and they expect me to be available when they say.

Cannot recommend this place enough! Kat recommended several beautiful dresses that perfectly fit the event I was attending in early November, & their seamstress made the dress I picked fit like a glove. Thank you all so much at Modern Brides Inc. for your great service!

I would definitely recommend Modern Brides for your wedding dress and bridal accessories. The staff was extremely kind and helpful. I probably tried on at least a dozen dresses and it didn’t phase them one bit. They were so accommodating when I brought my 18 month old nephew to dress fittings and even let me come try my dress on the day it came in even though I couldn’t come in until just minutes before they closed. And the alterations! My dress was very intricate - covered in lace with a fitted corset top. I lost quite a bit of weight between the time we order the dress and when it came in. The top was huge but after she took it in, it was perfectly fitted to my body. I’m also very short but I desperately wanted to keep the scalloping at the bottom. She had to remove all of the lace, hem the dress, and then sew the lace back on. I couldn’t even tell it was different at all! The bustle was absolutely perfect too. I had a great experience and I hope that you add Modern Brides as your first stop when dress hunting. You won’t regret it!

This place is amazing and Ms Pat is like the fairy godmother on Cinderella. She did alterations on my daughter’s dress a couple of years ago and worked her magic. My daughter still talks about it. She hemmed my mother of the bride dress for my sons’s wedding and everyone is so friendly! Stress always runs high during the planning of a wedding but at Modern Bride they always make sure your happy and they go above and beyond what you would expect!!

The bridal party I was with had an appointment, which had been scheduled for 2 weeks. When we arrived we were not waited on for almost an hour. There was one lady trying on dresses and they acted like we did not exist, I believe it was because we were African American, very distasteful and we all have very well paying jobs. This will not be a place I recommend for anyone! Racism still exist, I would never spend a dime in that low rate place!!!

Modern Brides has worked with me tirelessly throughout this pandemic and throughout the years have been absolutely incredible. Today, surpassed all of my expectations. Today, Mrs. Pat just proved that going above and beyond for something you’re passionate about and loving your customers is what makes businesses like hers successful. Jos A Banks is where John Michael ordered his custom tux for the wedding in early March. Due to the pandemic, their store closed and we were unable to pick it up upon its arrival to the store. Now, the store is closed until May 30th, even though the mall is open and the tuxedo is there; they’re not willing to work with us in order to find a solution to get his custom tux to him, refund our money, or assist us along the way. Last night, after working 12 hours in the ER, around 9:00 pm, I sent a message to Mrs. Pat at Modern Brides. John Michael and I both were so upset. She responded within minutes, welcoming us into her store, and this morning, only 12 hours later: she had taken measurements, allowed him to try on a few tuxedo options, and had a new rental suit ordered that should be here in 1-2 days. Talk about a blessing! Mrs. Pat has been phenomenal! She’s so excellent with customer service, but also just a sweet person. She has extended the offer to other brides, as well. She knows everyone, and everyone loves her because she’s so precious. So, if you find yourself like me, stuck without options due to this crazy time - caterer, photographer, tuxedo rentals - anything to do with your wedding, please contact Mrs. Pat! You will not regret it. I cannot say enough about this sweet, angelic, Godly woman. A blessing to all of us in this area.

Great experience for my wedding party and I! I purchased my wedding suit as well as my best mans suit from Modern Brides. The ordering process was very easy-the highly educated suit specialist measured us perfectly and received the items in a timely manner. My wife also purchased her gown, bridesmaids gowns, and flower girl dresses. She was absolutely stunning and the attendees looked beautiful! Modern Brides expertise is out of this world! They also recommended several wedding vendors to help plan our perfect day! There arent enough kind and gracious words to express the experience my wedding party and I had at Modern Brides.

I had such a wonderful experience with everyone at Modern Brides. I would never have been able to make a decision on a dress if it was not for them. I was on dress #101, before attending my appointment this past Saturday at Modern Brides. I was able to look freely without being over crowded. It was just me, so I was nervous at first because all past times trying on I had way to many opinions. My mom was meeting me later in the appointment. So we went ahead and started. Lindsey was my consultant and she was fantastic. She could not have been more attentive. I was torn between two dresses and by putting the entire look together she was able to make me feel as if I really was about to walk down the aisle and was able to choose a dress! We came back later in the week and Pat helped us out such a great deal, so my Mother was able to get the whole bridal experience as well. Out of my visit to 15 dress stores, I would NEVER choose or refer my friends to any other store! Plus I even live 2 hours away and they have always made my visit worth while.

I had a friend of mine go there and when she went and got her there was hole under the arm, dress didn’t even fit, and they didn’t see on her belt plus there was stain on there. I wouldn’t give them business!

It started out as a very good experience. I bought my wedding dress there off the rack because I needed it pretty quickly. The salesgirl was very nice, polite, and helpful. I even felt like I was getting a good deal on the dress. Then I found out the price of the alterations was nearly as much as the dress itself. But I was told it would be cleaned and pressed, so I figured it was worth it. I picked the dress up 3 days before I left for our destination wedding. The first thing I noticed was it was more wrinkled than ever before. It also had spots on it that were not there before. It looked like someone had stepped on it while it was being altered. Also the dress had these fabric flowers on the strap which I noticed still had dust on them. So theres definitely no way this dress was cleaned! They did, however give me a coupon for dress cleaning after the wedding, but considering they may not ACTUALLY clean it, I wont be using it.

By far the easiest and most wonderful people to work with. I have had the best experience with Modern Brides. My wedding gown as well as my bridesmaids gowns all came from Modern Brides. Mallory and Ms. Pat took time to ensure every detail was just perfect in all the dresses and have made my experience so very special. I highly recommend Modern Brides!

I would recommend Modern Brides to every bride that is looking for outstanding service, beautiful gowns and great prices. I found my gown here and Mallory was my consultant. I cant even give her enough compliments for the way she treated me,all my girls and my family. She helped us for hours. But we accomplished so many things at one time. She is excellent as a consultant and I can see her as a new best friend.

Pat gave me great advise in all of the planning in my wedding process! Right down to the amazing vendors I found at her Bridal Show, to her bring my dress to me on my wedding day!! So sweet of her! I could not have asked for a better wedding day! BUT it was the ladies at Modern Brides who made me and my entire wedding party look better than any wedding I have attended, and I am not favoring my wedding. haha, but truly I had the best bridal experience at this boutique the ladies love what they do and it shows!!

Shopping for a gown at Modern Brides was a good experience: the young lady waiting on us was helpful and gracious, with that joyful attitude that makes everything more fun. I would characterize the gowns here as very formal, so if you are planning a wedding in that style, I would highly recommend scheduling a visit to Modern Brides.

I ordered my bridesmaids dress from Modern Brides and did not have a great experience. The actual dress buying process was relatively easy and they had a decent selection to choose from. However, they took my measurements wrong and ordered me a dress that needed at least 8 inches taken out of it! I live in Birmingham and had the dress shipped to me (for a very outrageous price, I might add) and when I tried it on it swallowed me whole. It took me several days of calling to get anyone to answer the phone, and once I did get someone they said theyd call me back in 30 minutes. I never heard back. I could then not get anyone to answer the phone again. I had to have the brides mother go to the store for me and talk to them in person since I live out of town. They then said there was nothing they could do except have me bring the dress back and they would alter it for me (at normal price). I was unable to make it back due to my work schedule, but they were incredibly unhelpful with trying to fix the problem and a pain to get in contact with. Its costing me the price of the dress to have it altered down to my size because the have to take it totally apart and remake it. Im very disappointed in their customer service and seeming inability to help fix a problem that they caused.

I had a great experience with Modern Brides. Mallory was the most helpful and creative salesperson for my dress and the bridesmaids dresses. Pat was wonderful and helpful with the alterations for my dress and the bridesmaids. Even when my wedding date changed, the company was very helpful getting everything taken care of. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME DEALING WITH THESE PEOPLE! Sure, at first everything seemed great, and the employees were helpful in assisting us with picking and purchasing the bridesmaid dresses for the recent wedding I was in. (6 of the same dress was purchased in different sizes). Then came time to be fitted for alterations, and alterations themselves-MOST TRAGIC EXPERIENCE OF THE WEDDING! Myself and another bridesmaid went in a few months before the wedding (as we were kindly prompted to do so); the wedding was at the end of October. The first week in October I was told the alterations had not begun as they had not received all the fittings yet (which they HAD!). I was also told I did not come in soon enough, I kindly reminded them I had been in at least two months prior. Later that day, another bridesmaid called and was told alterations were currently being performed and they would be done soon. Over a week later I called and was told my dress was finished, AND HAD BEEN FINISHED and they were waiting on me to come pick it up. However, no one at that store was gracious enough to give me a phone call letting me know the dress was ready. Other bridesmaids were told their dress was ready when it wasnt; or that their dress was not ready when it was. Alterations were also extremely overpriced for the experience that we had.. Not to mention they looked bad. Please, if you value your sanity, your money, and your relationships with the people in your wedding, DO NOT SHOP HERE, youre better off making your own dress. Heck, a monkey and a sewing machine would probably be less stressful and more helpful.

Me and my best friend went into Modern Brides and the workers were rude and snobby. as soon as we walked in the lady asked what we were looking for and we said prom dresses for my friend so she said “ok we will go to the bigger sizes” and she’s not a big girl. she is a moderate size. and she said WE WILL GO TO THE BIGGER SIZES. like ok den

I highly recommend stopping by Modern Brides! Im so glad I did. Modern Brides was my first stop( my wedding dress ended up being the first one I tried on) After my first visit, I went to many boutiques... ended up coming back to Modern Brides 4x to try on the same dress before purchasing it. I purchased a gorgeous Casa Blanca, amazing designer!

After looking at several stores, my daughter found her wedding dress at Modern Brides, which is three hours from our home. The sales staff were wonderful. When it came time for alterations, which are not included in the price of the wedding gown, was when the problems arose. They have only one seamstress and it is very difficult to get an appointment for alterations. We had a family member pick up the wedding gown and maid of honors dress to save us a three hour trip the week of the wedding. When the dresses were picked up they were on cheap plastic hangers, like you get at Wal-Mart, and they were in the thin clear plastic bags, the kind dry cleaners use, with a knot tied in the end of the bag. We were told the nice zipper bags are only used for the short prom dresses. I guess that they reward you for NOT spending a large amount of money at this boutique. This sends the message that a prom dress is more important than a wedding dress. My family member went to another bridal store and purchased a zippered garment bag for my daughters wedding gown so the cheap bag we were given at Modern Bride wouldnt tear and possibly let dust or something worse damage the wedding gown. By the way, the garment bag from the other bridal shop only cost us $10, so it cant be the cost of the garment bags that keeps Modern Brides from providing them to the brides purchasing their gown there, after all they do provide them for the much less expensive and short prom dresses they sell there.

These ladies were a joy to work with. I went to two places, knowing I had to get a dress that same day and the girl pulling dresses for me was awesome. I went to another place before coming here and was so upset and disappointed with the service I wasnt in a good mood when I walked in to MB. My mood changed quickly just because of the knowledge the girls had in what was in the shop and by knowing exactly what I wanted. My dress was perfect! I had the alterations done here as well and she really knew what needed to be done to it to make it look amazing on me. They also have wonderful accessories and I found the perfect sash and hair comb that added that extra touch to match my dress. These ladies were true professionals and a pleasure to work with.

I walked in and one of the associates were extremely rude. I stopped in she spoke to us and waited till I had a few dresses in my arm to then come up to me and inform me that I couldnt try on any dresses that day and Id have to make an appointment to come back. I informed her that I lived an hour and a half away and she still would not allow me to try on. Good way to lose a sale. I will not be back or recommend my friends.

I have never seen so many beautiful dresses in one place before that gave me so many options for my senior prom! Customer service was absolutely amazing, and it was a great shopping experience! Highly recommend

It was a little difficult to locate because gps sent us into the construction area. But once you locate the shop, its a great experience. Very nice and knowledgeable staff and a compfortable atmosphere.

ONLY will purchase my pageant dresses from MB!!!! They can always order me my dress, and find me styles that they have in the store that will make me feel comfortable with my special order. I have one every pageant, since I have started having the girls at Modern Brides keep me in mind when all the glitzy dresses come in!

Buying your dress from here is fine as they have a good selection and the attendants helped me narrow down a dress much better than Davids Bridal. BUT I would absolutely recommend you get your alterations done somewhere else. I was very unhappy after both fittings and was glad I had an aunt there to confirm it was not a good fit even though the owner/seamstress was trying to tell me it was. She was pinning for more alterations trying to assure me it would be better, but I didnt like it with it pinned and was terrified at my 3rd and final fitting I would still hate it. I was about to scrap the whole thing and get a completely different dress (crying over the thought of the cost) when my aunt took me to another tailor who immediately (just by pinning the dress differently) was able to get the dress to fit me MUCH better. Seeing the photos side by side made it apparent Modern Brides was not qualified to be altering wedding dresses (see below for yourself - Left photo Modern Brides pinning; Right photo other seamstress pinning). Unfortunately so much padding was already added by Modern Brides that the new seamstress/tailor could only do so much with the top so it was never a perfect fit and I fretted about it at my wedding and am still noticing the ill-fitting in the wedding photos. Modern Brides was professional about returning SOME of the money on the alterations (as another reviewer mentioned - every time I went in the store there was some new charge on my dress and despite paying it every time I was treated multiple times like I was delinquent) and offered a free cleaning of the dress still, but I needed to post to try to spare others from what I went through. Also, a friend had the same experience just before me and I should have listened and NOT let Modern Brides do my alterations.

Wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. We made an appointment, but weren’t greeted until we had been in the store for at least 10 minutes. The consultant looked high school aged and was dressed quite sloppy for the job, which seemed unprofessional. After we picked over the outdated selection of dresses, the dressing rooms were a bit dirty and another bride was using the mirrors most of the time. After trying on the first few, she didn’t push us to try on more and the environment just wasn’t inviting enough to want to spend money there.

While their selection and staff are great, Pat the seamstress is not great at all. Go elsewhere for alterations because she doesnt alter your dress until DAYS before your wedding. Im still frustrated with the fit of my dress years later.

The store itself is very dated. They carry nice wedding gowns and bridesmaid dresses, but if you are looking for the full bridal boutique experience, then you dont want to go there.

I am beyond pissed off, no one who worked there spoke to me and my cousins and we are both looking for wedding dresses and bridesmaid dresses, no one offered to help us Noone even spoke to us or greeted us probably because we were in our everyday lounging clothes but for the fact that we were walking around waiting and looking at them and 6 people cam in and they got greeted and got helped besides us that is UNCALLED FOR!! I wouldnt even give you one star I hated it! Yall are rude and not helpful at all!!

I recently went looking for a prom dress for my daughters Senior Prom. I looked everywhere in my area and she couldnt find what she was satisfied with so while reading reviews I noticed that Modern Brides had some good reviews and we decided to go there. The young ladies that showed us the prom dresses were very nice and my daughter got to try on several dresses. While picking out her dress, all workers were as nice and patient as they could possibly be. My daughter did have to have some alterations to her dress and the alterations were very expensive! We started out with a 20% discount off the dress, but every alteration had a price to it. She had to have the length taken off, three layers at $20 per layer! $60 dollars. $20 to take up one strap. Pat, the lady doing the alterations, said it would be done in a couple weeks. After 3 weeks, I had to call and the dress still wasnt finished. When we went to pick up the dress, 1 week later after calling again, the alterations were aweful! It was to short, the strap taken up was to tight, and the chest area was still to big. The front of the dress was crooked and the side without a strap turned under. When I brought all this to Pats attention, she blamed it on the way the dress was made. Said all the beads on the dress was causing it to turn under. My daughters prom dress the year before had the same amount, if not more, beads at the top and we didnt have this problem. She charged me $5 more dollars for doing a quick chest take up and when the dress still didnt fit right, she charged $30 more for leaving the dress again so she could take the chest area up right. She wouldnt even take off the $5 I had just paid her for the seam she had just took up! After another week of leaving the dress again, it still wasnt right. The front without a strap was lower than the side with the strap making the front look lopsided! We left with the dress and still had to go purchase body tape and breast push up inserts! Another $30! Be advised that I did read the reviews before purchasing the dress and until I purchased the dress everyone was great, but afterwards, the owner/seamstress was very rude and non-negotiable. Everything she does has a price! So beware before planning a wedding or prom dress affair with this company. You will be charged for their mistakes!

My groomsmen and I rented tuxedoes from Modern Brides last month for my weddijg. The fit was perfect and ordered in a timely manner! The customer service was outstanding and the neasurements were percise and taken very quickly. Along with great prices
