Just stopped in while in town from Nashville after searching for some coffee and so glad I came to this place! I knew I had to leave a review. The dark waffle and coffee I got are SO GOOD, the girl working today was super sweet, and the vibe of the place is terrific! Would love to come sometime when music is going on. Everyone should support small/black owned businesses like this over the big chains. Y’all keep it up and I pray God blesses this business tenfold! 🙏🏼

The service was great and fast, staffing was so chilled and cool, and coffee was amazing! This is literally the first time in my life I’ve drunk a coffee full n didn’t add sugar! I will for now own put my money here when I’m need of coffee or just want a spot to get away. I am glad to see my people doing great and delivering great.

Got an iced latte and it was the best Ive had since moving to Huntsville. Such a cool atmosphere and great place to hang out and sip some good coffee.

I ordered a shot of espresso and a americano. Coffee was roasted well so didnt taste bitter. The cafe was clean, small and cozy and the employee was super nice to all customers.

Went to this cute coffee shop to get some studying done. The staff were friendly, the music was good, and the internet was fantastic. Was more expensive than I expected, $7 + tip for iced tea with oat milk. No non-fat or 2% available, hence the oat milk option. I forgot to say a size so maybe they gave me a large and that’s why it was so expensive. I believe there were some pastries, I may have bought one if they were on display but I felt weird asking them to show me them first.

Really love this place. The prices are decent, the coffee is great and the service is always top notch. This part of town really needed a good place that you can feel comfortable going to for a late coffee. The desserts are really good and I usually ask for the little donut holes (cant remember what they are called) and they go very well with a flat white. The owner has been in there several times and always greats everyone with a smile from what I have seen. I hope they stay around for a while.

Stopped in for some coffee on a saturday morning and loved it! The interior was well decorated and clean. There were board games to play with my little one, and plenty of sanitizer available. The barista was wonderful and explained beverage options clearly. Will be back!

Nice spot very hip and modern decor very clean spacious I got a double shot espresso it was over $3 thats the most Ive ever paid for one anywhere. It was a good espresso not the best one Ive ever had so I question the price. If I pay $3 for an espresso it better be the best one Ive ever had.

I had to come out and support this new coffee shop! The selection of coffee & food was excellent. The decor and the vibe at the Darkside is so perfect. Also the staff was so friendly and accommodating. Also they know what they are doing when it come to making coffee it was hot, no bitter and the right amount if cream and sugar. I will definitely be back.

Great little coffee shop! Love their creative coffee options and they have tea lattes too. They do have space for people to work, but it’s small . If someone in the room is talking loud, you’ll hear it bounce all over the room. So it’s not quiet, but it is cozy. Overall great staff, very knowledgeable and kind.

A black owned business I can be proud of, great location, great coffee, great atmosphere, and great staff! A very chill place to hang out and enjoy a persons company. Prices were also reasonable and they have several discounts for students, essential workers etc. Highly recommend and will be back.

This place was so cute and Edward did FANTASTIC. I asked him to make a breve, but he told me he wasn’t sure how to make one. Instead of having to order something different he asked me to tell him how to make one so I could still have it. 😭 YALL. It was YUUUMMMYYY . He did awesome and my heart was so happy. Great coffee shop in northern Huntsville. Finally a coffee shop in town that offers good hot chocolate. Also, the hot chocolate was hot which is hard to find anywhere. The wife and I had sandwiches as well. Everything was great.

This was a random stop that we decided to make when we saw a cute coffee shop on the side of the road and I am SO glad we did! Coffee was on of the best I’ve had in Huntsville and wonderful food!! We got the donut holes and bulldog bagel and they were unreal! Friendly staff and adorable atmosphere! A must stop for sure! Definitely recommend, even if it’s a little out of the way!

The hot cocoa was awesome. The atmosphere is dope and I love the plants and black decor throughout. There is also a cereal bar but I didnt try any. The servers and other employees were personable and made the experience all the more enjoyable. I will be back for breakfast and coffee soon.Went today 11/25/20 and had the vegan sausage bagel and it was sooo delicious❗

I really love this place. Its cozy inside with dark walls and lots of plants. I had a hazelnut latte and it was delicious. My husband had a darkchinno that was also very good.

I tried the Snickerdoodle Latte (hot) and the Dark Side pastry of the day, which was a chocolate chip Belgium waffle with blueberry syrup and whipped cream!! I enjoyed them both as well as the chill atmosphere. Ill definitely go back to try other items on the menu and hang out a bit more.

Refreshing experience from other coffee houses I frequent. The atmosphere was amazing, the service is great! I had the iced Othello and a regular coffee and the flavors were strong, but perfect! Definitely will be going back!

Finally stopped at this shop on impulse one night when looking for a coffee shop that was still open (as a grad student coffee makes up 1/3 of my diet so it’s nothing new to have a cup at 8pm). I was immediately impressed by the unique aesthetic of the place. The furniture was well placed, varied, and inviting. I like to have options for what I want to sit on and where I sit at a coffee shop and this certainly provided it.The staff was super friendly and helpful when I asked for her recommendation. The dark side dots were absolutely divine, the flavor of the day was red velvet and I had them warmed and I was blown away by them. The coffee itself was absolute perfection my friend and I both got the snickerdoodle latte with oatmilk. It was well flavored and the coffee was divine, it immediately became one of my new favorite spots in Huntsville. Seriously cant say enough good things about this place!

This new coffee shop, tucked away next door to Betty Maes, is a real gem. They have a really cool story and mission; Id recommend looking them up to learn about their origin and their goals.I knew I had to try this place and decided Id stop by as its relatively close to my work. I wanted to go at lunch to try one of their delectable looking sandwiches (they also have a cereal bar for eats), but sadly I was too busy to take a lunch break, so I stopped for an afternoon coffee instead. Theres ample parking outside. One cool thing about Dark Side is that theyre open every day of the week and stay open till late in the evening, which is sort of unique for a local coffee shop.The interior isnt as large as I expected it would be -- its quite cozy and beautifully decorated. Somewhat limited but comfortable looking seating. Plants everywhere, art in innovative places...Dark Side exudes cool.If the space exudes cool, then the employees exude kindness. Theyre masked and gloved, too. The sweet girl operating the cash register was super polite, doled out a sincere compliment, and made great recommendations. I wanted to try their specialty drink for now, the Othello. Im not sure what all the ingredients are, but I know the ~special~ part is it has OREOS in it. I ordered mine with almond milk.It was really yummy! Their iced drinks comes in one size, which Id describe as equivalent to about a medium size at most places. One small complaint is its pretty expensive - a little over 6 bucks, more with the tip I paid, for it. Im willing to do it to support a cool place and especially since its a specialty drink, but I cant make it a crazy frequent treat, much as Id otherwise be willing to do so, lol. On the bright side, 5% of all proceeds go to directly support various initiatives in north Huntsville, which is awesome.It couldve been stirred just a tiny bit better (some of the syrup / chocolate flavor was really concentrated on the first few sips), but overall it was smooth, sweet, creamy, and silky. And yall, I was skeptical about Oreos working in a drink, but they totally worked. It was yummy enough that I drank it fast enough that they never got soggy, instead adding a great crunchy, chocolatey sweetness to the beverage. Some of the Oreo pieces were a little too big to fit in the straw...Id be lying if I told you I didnt get a spoon to scoop out and finish off those delightful remaining pieces. Really good - definitely want to stop in again before this drink goes away.Ill update this review as soon as I get my hands on one of their sandwiches. Cant wait!

The decor will be the first thing to hit you before you even walk in. Being able to keep breathing fresh air from the screened in and shaded large window pictured is a refreshing and welcome second, even without covid. Safety dividers and hand sanitizer available when ordering, employees and most patrons were masked, distancing practiced even in the small space. Outdoor seating is available, but not shaded (Im guessing yet)I was sad they didnt have lavender but the barista recommended snickerdoodle and it was SOOOOOooooo good. A lot of coffee places under season spicy coffees but mine was the flavourful perk I needed to run errands.Small step up at entry but curbside ordering and delivery are available for handicap accessibility, inclusive, clean, well decorated, fast, friendly and efficient service, well ventilated, covid safe

Stopped in there yesterday and got a medium latte and it was over $4 and that with a vet discount. It was nice and creamy the way I like them and the service was prompt and courteous. Only 4 stars because of the cost.

What a great place. Excellent coffee and a very attentive caring staff. We were impressed by the fact that when they ran a little low on coffee they didnt give us the remnants but brewed more. It took a little time but was well worth it. Will definitely be back.

Im so impressed with this place. I absolutely love the location and the name. Its a quaint little spot where the service is nice and the coffee is amazing. As compared to Starbucks, theres no long lines so you get in and get out. I will continue to support this establishment.

Ordered breakfast sandwiches, an iced coffee (tried it black to get a fee for their coffee bean choice - it was full-bodied, chocolatey/nutty, well-balanced and delicious!), A steamed milk with hazelnut syrup, dark side dots (imagine a chai cake donut mixed with a hushpuppy), and they also gave us their house waffle to try! On the house! Every single part of our order and our experience was above and beyond! Cant say enough good things. If you havent tried this Dark.Side yet, youre missing out! Go today!

Coffees a bit pricey, but the Bulldog Bagel and the Dark Waffle are incredible. The Vegan Cinnamon Roll they offer is also great, if a bit too sweet.

I couldnt wait to try this place when I came into town! I was so excited about a coffee shop opening on the North Side of Huntsville and missed the old Starbucks when I would visit. The atmosphere is very warm and welcoming. My latte was good, I ordered the flat white with sugar free vanilla. Highly recommend!

Great new coffee shop! Staff is welcoming, patient and kind. I got an iced americano and in my humble opinion it is the best in town! They are open late (hallelujah) and open early! So the best of both worlds! They gave me a sample of their salmon breakfast special and I am not a big fish for breakfast person but it was delightful!

This place is a WHOLE vibe! I had the peppermint mocha coffee with the average Joe sandwich with bacon and egg!!! It was phenomenal. I also got the pecan waffle with raspberry whip cream topping, and it was phenomenal!!! The decor is subtle, but very inspiring and eco friendly!!! I cant wait to go again

It was great to be able to order hot tea in a coffee shop. The food is awesome and the staff is amazing. I recommend those handling food always wear gloves even after washing hands then Ill be back.

This is one of those places where the people just care. Every person they greeted so kindly and went out of their way to make it a great experience. They’re still working on the coffee flavor but I have high hopes for them!

A friend took me here for my first time and i loved it. It has a great atmosphere, welcoming and uplifting, great decor, music and furnishings, all in all a aaesome setting. Best of all, the staff and food were amazing! I got a chai tea and a dark waffle and both were delicious! I have to make time to return and spread the word! I went to DarkSide on a suggestion from a friend and it did not disappoint. I am not a huge coffee drinker, but one of the owners made me a delicious coffee and my mom ordered a hot chocolate. She is still raving about it to this day and reminds me to stop by and grab one for her if I am ever in the area. I would highly recommend to everyone. They also have a great atmosphere and a selection of food much better than a chain coffee shop.

After hiking at Monte Sano, my wife and I wanted to check out this place. The lady who took our order was very nice and recommended several different coffees/teas which made it super easy to order. We had ours to-go since its still the pandemic but definitely plan to be back!

The staff was very friendly and made my wife and son white hot chocolates even though it wasnt on the menu. They both loved their drinks. We also got their dark dots which were the best donut holes weve had since moving to Huntsville. They are well with the drive.
