Really sweet little cafe / lunch spot tucked into the PNC building just steps from Big Spring Park! Cozy Cow has occupied this spot for a while, and its a great lunch stop, especially for a picnic in the park or a quick work meal. Its also a good place to grab an ice cream treat and walk by the spring on a date, if thats more your style. :)They have simple sandwiches with lots of different bread choices, a couple burgers, coffee, soda, tea, chips, a couple of lunch-type sides (potato salad, fruit cups, etc), baked goods, and Blue Bell ice cream available. The staff member who greeted me was helpful and warm, and his teammate who brought out my sandwich kindly asked if I needed a bag -- which I did, as I needed to cart my meal back to my car so I could take it home with me. A nice touch. :)I ordered a simple grilled cheese with chips and a sweet tea and added on a peanut butter brownie because it looked too good to pass up. I have been to the Cow before, but only for ice cream, so I was excited to try their actual meal options. Overall, I enjoyed my sandwich - good balance of cheese and bread, the sourdough I selected was nice and had the chewiness that I love from that kind of bread. I wish theyd had regular, non-baked Lays for my chips, but the Miss Vickies did the trick, too. The sweet tea was really solid, not overly sweet, and fresh-tasting. I prefer my brownies without chocolate chips inside, but thats not a mark against the Cow really, just a personal preference. I ate around the chips and thoroughly enjoyed the gooey brownie and the peanut buttery icing goodness. The inside of the shop has nice windows where you can look out and people watch, as well as a small patio if youd rather eat outside. I enjoyed my walk to and from my car, just taking in all the sights of downtown. Give the Cozy Cow a try if youre looking for a wholesome sandwich-type lunch or treat.
Just went to Cozy Cow for the first time. The inside decor is fun and staff are very friendly and helpful. I ordered the BBQ & Bacon Burger, and it was the best burger I’ve had in a while. Not too much sauce and a good pulled pork to burger ratio that didn’t cross the line into stunt food. The burger was well done but not dry, very juicy. Overall I’d give this a 10/10 on places to go in Huntsville. The only negative is I haven’t been sooner!
Amazing food and super friendly staff. Had a breakfast burrito and loved it so much I went back the next day for lunch. The panini was really good, but the potato salad was delicious!
We came in after the lunch rush. The food was good. Mac n cheese really wasn’t all that great. The thing that upset us was that I ordered my smoothie, The Southern Sunrise, with almond milk. While making it the blender had a hard time because the lady hadn’t added enough liquid which I overheard a coworker tell her she needed to add more liquid. When I tasted mine it straight up tasted like almond milk. No other fruit flavor. When we asked if they could remake it they stated that when you order a smoothie with almond milk it’ll taste like almond milk. Honey, I make almond milk smoothies all the time at home. It shouldn’t only taste like almond milk. I’ll be making them from home now. They refused to make another. Service was quite rude.
Wonderful place to hang out in downtown Huntsville, but hard to deliver to :-)
Great food, great location, great service and ice cream! Always stop to eat and enjoy when taking the grandkids to feed the ducks. :-)
Parking is very hard to find since this cafe is downtown next to big spring park. All the street parking was full so i ended up having to park in the event parking garage for $5. It would be great if they made a partnership with the garage and did validation.Outside of the parking situation, the food was pretty good. I ordered a chicken salad sandwich on a croissant and the croissant was great. The chicken salad was a little pickley for my taste and i think it may have had dill in it but some people love that. The ice cream seemed very nice and they offer a nice selection of house made pastries as well.Overall it was a nice little cafe the parking situation is just a bit of a headache due to the location.
Tasty lunch spot. Parking can be a challenge. Service was great.
Our favorite local ice cream stop! All employees weve ever met were great
Ordered cold brew with cream, they ran out of cold brew and instead of asking if Id like something else, they proceeded to gave me a cup of half cold brew and half creamer. It was disgusting. The whole time I was in the shop, the staff was talking to one another to figure out what to do. The young barista was told to just give me the cups of coffee... Thinking I wouldnt say anything is my assumption.Upon returning unsatisfied, the manager asked if I wanted to try something that she would make as she knows what she is doing and that the young barista was inexperienced and didnt know how to properly make what I asked for. Not admitting they had run out of cold brew AND not offering me something different.I would not recommend a shop like this. Blaming the new girl for being inexperienced while still giving a horrible cup of coffee away. This is my second time here and I will not be back here, regardless if its the last possible cup of coffee Ill have in my life.Train your workers! If your employees dont know how to do something, thats what the THREE other workers in the shop can be used for.
They use dark roasted bean from a local roaster, and since thats exactly the kind of beans I like for my espressos, I enjoyed it quite a bit. Very cozy atmosphere and.a good selection of ice cream.
One of my favorites little spots for a good sandwich. I usually get the smoked turkey with provolone on cranberry walnut Fred Bread. Its piled thick with turkey. The grilled pimento cheese is also a winner. I always get a combo and get hand dipped ice cream for my side! They give you a huge serving of ice cream. Ive been coming here for over two years and they are consistently good.
Great food in people know their products. Great place pick up a lunch or early dinner Ill take it to the park and relax and enjoy
Great staff! They even let our dogs hang out on their patio while we drank our coffee
Fantastic prices, quick and friendly service, and delicious food. Put that together with the only regularly available restroom on the park and its a regular staple for me and my family. If we all go more often maybe theyll be open on Sunday!
A great coffee shop in a truly superb area. In the heart of downtown Huntsville overlooking big spring park, its tough to find a more city cafe type atmosphere anywhere in the metro area. The espresso was good, not great. A bit on the bitter side (grind too fine??). The iced coffee however was fantastic! A great place to pick up a brew to walk through the city or just to sit overlooking the park.
It was really great. Clean, friendly staff, service was quick and the food was good. Would definitely recommend that you give it a try
My party & I were very satisfied with their ice cream. I personally had their Southern Blackberry Cobbler ice cream in a Milkshake... it was SOOO good!!
BEST SWEETS AND FOOD AROUND!!!amazing family owned restaurant and lovely staff.Inside is so cozy and I could eat everything on the menu haha
The mint chocolate chip ice cream is the best Ive ever had❣😁😁😁😁
Blackberry Cobber Ice Cream was very good.
Excellent place that many probably pass by if they arent looking for it. Reasonable prices, and the cowlifornia club on jalapeno cheddar bread cant be beat
Small spot located in big spring park, patio has beautiful view, food is tasty, drinks are great. Nice staff.
Good food, varied options, nice people! Very small place, meant to pick up and go. Great to take and eat in the park!
Love the ice cream here.
Amazing burger! Presentation of the food was spot on.Food tastes super fresh and everyone was so friendly.Due to food allergies, I had a bunless burger and they were very accommodating and put my burger on lettuce for me.
Very lovely and aesthetic. The food was amazing and they had a surprisingly large variety to choose from. They also had a very large selection of coffees including frappuccinos. Seating was good and the employees were very helpful and kind. Will 100% come back!!
My friends had the Matt burgers and I had the Leah burger (veggie burger) and they were all amazing! Hands down best veggie burger Ive ever had. It was pretty cheap, too :) This was probably the best part about my stay at the Embassy.
My toddler son & I always make it a point to visit The Cozy Cow whenever we are at Big Spring Park. I’m so grateful for a place like this; such a perfect location. We love their chicken salad (their pimiento cheese sandwich leaves a lot to be desired, but that doesn’t limit your options in the slightest). I really enjoy their iced lattes (my go-to drink). They sell Blue Bell ice cream which is always well-stocked, much to my son’s delight - we can’t leave without some mint chocolate chip. Seating is more limited due to Covid restrictions, and the square footage is not much to begin with, but there is seating outside and also plenty of places for a picnic in the park should all of their tables be occupied. Although Covid has made things more difficult for local businesses, I do appreciate Cozy Cow continuing to offer their services; as such, we will continue to be customers.
We visited this coffee ice cream shop on a visit to the park nearby! AMAZING! One of the best Chai lattes ever! I didnt get her name but the staff were so calm and patient! They helped me by giving me a large cup for my toddlers scoop that saved us on the car ride home! Id highly recommend! This place!
Great food! So exciting to find a place that takes pride in their food.
As the name implies, this is a cozy, quaint place that had almost a hipster feel to it. The family and I went for lunch, and we each got sandwiches. I ordered the pimento sliders which were pretty good. The counter also offered a number of baked goods and sweets which looked delicious, but I did not partake.Overall, a fine place, but nothing that wowed me. If youre looking for a lunch spot, you could certainly do worse.
Great selection and super friendly staff. Will be back!! =)
Great drinks and coffee
Great little sandwich shop in downtown Huntsville! Their lunch selections are delicious; just pair it with their brewed ice tea! I had the tuna melt sandwich which was pretty good along with 3 desserts (Lemon cake, brownie and chocolate chip cookie brownie) I just had to try them all! My favorite of the 3 was certainly the brownie.
Good food, milkshakes and coffee. We really enjoy this place. Enjoyed their hamburgers, Santa Fa Salad and many other items they have.
Everything I have had here has been very good.
Stopped in twice during our visit to Huntsville. Friendly staff. Made us a Cuban coffee that wasnt on the menu. Even got some bread heels to feed the ducks in the park.
I dont usually bother with writing reviews, but The Cozy Cow needs one. I came in for the first time with a group of 7 people and we all got meals, desserts, and coffee. This is a cute little coffee shop thats not really geared towards large parties, but the time I spent waiting for the all of the food and drinks was still less than I have spent at many drive-thru windows. The staff was very friendly and patient with our large order, read it back to us twice for accuracy, and delivered everything to us exactly as ordered. All of that is enough to warrant becoming a repeat customer, but then there was the food... Everything was delicious, and the desserts were AMAZING. We all sampled each others meals, and we all agreed that there was nothing we wouldnt order again. From start to finish, it was an awesome meal and an awesome experience. Parking is a bit of a challenge, but if you are going to be going to Big Spring Park, I absolutely encourage you to stop in and give them a try. I will be returning often!
I LOVE this place. The food is good and its very quaint. Whenever we go to an event down town we walk here to eat. Just always get a drink or bottled water because their normal water always tastes bad. I think thats more the citys fault than theirs though.
Absolutely amazing! What a great little place. And the people! Definitely a destination.it is so worth getting out of you trek to visit.
Everything at this shop is good. If you are in the area stop by and get a cup of coffee.
Very tasty ice cream, creative cups, very good home made ice cream, cozy, nice view, clean, friendly service, park on the street.
Yummy food at a fair price ☺ I love that theyre located within the park.
Fantastic food. Very cozy atmosphere. Very friendly staff. Great prices. A real gem.
Amazing.
Always a good experience.
Been hearing great reviews on this place so I stopped by on yday. The wait was really long (about 30 mins) but they had a live, blues band to pass the time. Couldnt decide on oxtail plate or ribs plate so I got both and saved one for lunch the next day. The oxtails and rice was divine!
We came on St. Patricks Day, hoping to get a warm bite to eat before the parade. Our first, second, and third chooses had failed us, so we were both desperate and thrilled to happen upon this place in our wanderings. The fact that we were in the middle of Lent meant I had some self imposed dietary restrictions, but I was still able to find a nice, healthy and tasty option on their menu. The workers were super friendly and helpful, and they even made some tasty recommendations. I loved that the bagels tasted fresh and that our meals were made to order. If I were in the area more often, Id be happy to go back more frequently.
Pretty good for pretty good price! Got the loaded sandwich, a hot tea, and a cup of the chicken salad for $13~. Lots of hot tea and coffee options as well as food. Right across from the ymca so going by there after working out is a no brainer!
Decent food for a decent price. Quaint and cozy. The coffee is trash though so dont bother with that. Also, the pimiento cheese is...weird so maybe opt for a different side.
It is hard to find a good place for lunch in a downtown area. The Cozy Cow is a great place. It is a small café with great sandwiches and desserts. They were very busy when I visited but our orders were perfect and the food was excellent.
Nice little cafe in downtown Hunstville. I had the tuna melt sandwich which was pretty good along with 3 desserts (Lemon cake, brownie and chocolate chip cookie brownie) I just had to try them all! My favorite of the 3 was certainly the brownie.
Great smoothies, fresh sandwiches and a great service team. Had a great lunch in a great atmosphere (surrounded by adorable cow pictures). Could you ask for more? I dont think so.
Always happy with what I get here. We order for lunch at the office quite often & they seem to always get it right. Decent selection of sandwiches, too.
The tortilla soup was very good. My wife’s pimento cheese sliders were also good. It was very clean and unlike many places these days not overly noisy. Unbeknownst to me, my car keys fell from my jacket pocket as I left. I did not realize I had left my keys until about 1/2 hour after closing. I called and spoke to the owner. He was willing to take time out of his day to meet me to return my keys. The willingness to go the extra mile for a first time customer and the good food ensures that I will return.
One of our favorite local sandwich and icecream shops
Good, but could be better.
Great not just for coffee, but really good sandwiches/salads etc. Desserts are unbelievable!!!
Came to this restaurant for the first time and was very impressed. The service was fast, the food was delicious, and the environment was relaxing. I will absolutely be back!
Had been a while since I ate at Cozy Cow. Same great food. Turkey sand and ham sandwich both on cranberry walnut bread. So yummy.
Great coffee
Busy place, service was great and friendly. Amazing menu, decent prices. Will go back!
Its a nice place. I dont drink coffee, so I cant rate the obvious draw of this place. The smoothies are really good. They have a good selection and every one Ive tried, Ive been pleased with. The food is also surprisingly good for a coffee shop. Not a great selection for vegetarians, but I doubt that affects them much at all.
I cant believe Id never been here before!! I LOVE this place!! Great people and a seriously yummy sandwich totally made my day :D
One of the best chai tea lattes Ive ever had.
The young ladies behind the counter were so helpful and polite. One suggested the peach paradise smoothie and I was so pleased. I removed my boots and took a nap on the floor...thats how cozy I felt. Dont judge me.
Friendly service. It was my first time visiting, so I asked for a recommendation and was presented with the pimento cheese sandwich, potato salad, and a pickle. The pimento cheese was quite good; nice and peppery! The potato salad is the second best Ive had in the area. Ill go back.
Milkshakes here are really good! Only complaint is their business hours -- how do you stay in business when you close at 3pm? Ive wanted to try the ice cream here for over a year and only today did I make it over on my lunch break.
Love the owners and staff. Been a customer since they first opened and Ive never had a bad experience. I eat here on average, once a week. Great food and coffee.
First time eating at Cozy Cow and was NOT disappointed! Delicious food and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful . The cranberry chicken salad on toasted cranberry bread is probably the best Ive ever had. Cant say enough nice things about the food and service ! Will definitely eat there again.
The coffee is blah. The tacos are like an over cooked puree of meat like tooth paste, and it matches the personality of the gluten free...huh? Service. Match that with the cafeteria like atmosphere where you serve yourself and the barista stands behind the counter joking and entirely indifferent to the customer. Then they expect a tip. Its mellinial service meets menial quality at a school cafeteria. The cow is cozy....not the customer.
Espresso was good, and the young one with me had vanilla icecream. Said it was best shes had.
We have always had great service when we eat at Cozy Cow. They are very friendly and the food is fresh and tasty.
Very quick and friendly service. The burger I had was great also
Great ice cream sundae and latte. The owner is very pleasant to talk with. Great location on the park.
Had been a while since I ate at Cozy Cow. Same great food. Turkey sand and ham sandwich both on cranberry walnut bread. So yummy.
Small unimpressive menu but good food, nice location, good view, nice small personal space, icecream, clean, and friendly staff.
Unimpreaive menu, unimpressive food. There was a weird smell, service was horrid, and the food was not worth what they charge. The coffee was bland, and the coffee menu is just lacking. Giving it 2 stars because at least the ice cream wasnt melted.
Such a Quant and comfortable place to have coffee and relax.
It was good for an Icecream Shop and Coffee Bar. We enjoyed it and the prices are reasonable.
The best! I come down here to pay my power company bill monthly in person and it just across the street. Thats so I can have an excuse to come over here and eat least once a month if not more depending on my budget. PS the website is available if you havent noticed. It now has different hours so check the website or when walking around Big Spring Park. Also check out on Groupon sometimes they have specials there.
I eat there a day or two a week and love it! The hamburgers are delicious and the coffee is great. I also get sandwiches on Fred Bread. Really nice employees and good service. Highly recommend.
Yummy sandwiches. Not much seating. Great ice cream and desserts!
Great food for a great price! They also let you turn any of the sandwiches into a panini so I would definitely recommend doing that! And ordering a side of the potato salad! Service is always great too!!
Small secluded sammich shop.. cozy
