This local Kroger grocery store is located at 7090 Highway 72 WHuntsville, AL 35806. The great thing that sets Kroger apart from other grocery stores is it doesnt have clothes, outdoor furnishings, etc. It has groceries. There is a Starbucks located inside the store, as well as pharmacy, flower shop and in addition to all of the well stocked grocery departments. SO you can get your favorite mocha, latte or espresso to enjoy while you shop. There is a fully stocked produce department with fresh fruit and vegetables. During the Summer months they carry a Tuscan melon that is the sweetest and juiciest Ive ever tasted. There is a fresh meat department that carries beef, pork, chicken and seafood. Weve purchased the jumbo shrimp several time when it has been one sale for $9.99 a pound. It was fresh and delicious each time weve bought it. Occasionally Kroger has the whole Beef Tenderloin on sale for $142.36 for 14.2 pounds which averages to just over $10 a pound. We had the meat department slice the whole tenderloin into 3/4 thick steaks. It made 15 thick steaks and about a pound and of tender stew meat. Weve also watched for sales online and theyve had Choice Boneless Ribeye for $6.96 per pound.Kroger also has a great deli meat department that has cold deli pork, beef, chicken, turkey and many other seasoned deli meats. Weve bought the Boars Head London Broil Roast Beef $12.37 per pound. We had the deli department slice it nice and thin and it makes fantastic roast beef sandwiches for French dip.Kroger also has a large variety of potato chips, snacks, canned fruit and vegetables. They carry a wide variety of household cleaning and laundry supplies. There is a large variety of dairy milks, cheeses and yogurts. They carry pretty much everything you can want in food and sundries. There is staffed checkouts as well as self-checkouts. Make sure your register for an Kroger saver account that you can use and track on your smart phone. On average we save anywhere between $15-30 per visit and can track the sales using the Kroger app.
Worst pickup order experience everI picked up an order an hour ago, and the chicken I bought was the wrong kind and it got ripped so it was leaking all over my car, half of my cans got left out, and a bag ripped open because they overpacked it. Never again
If you want to do grocery pickup here, don’t! Third time in the past month, my order has gotten pushed back. I select every Sunday at 9am, and it keeps getting pushed back til after 12pm! Not fair. If they are so behind how about cut the number of orders they take in half? That way I don’t have an expectation of having my groceries at a certain time. I will not be coming back to this Kroger.
Got there for a pick up at 6 and was told “sorry to be the bearer of bad news but we are behind and you have to come back an hour”. The manager came out to my car and said there would be a 15% discount for the inconvenience. I was upset because they didn’t warn me at all and I didn’t plan for the change. But I felt better that they would discount the order. So I waited 2 and a half hours before I come back and they all acted like they had no idea what was going on. It took 40 minutes to get the order and there was not a discount. I called as soon as I got home and the phone just rang for 2 minutes. Then when someone finally answered he told me I had to call back another day and get a future discount. I’m disgusted at the lack it management and customer service.
I have been going to this store for almost 7 years and today is going to be the last time I go!! The produce section has been getting really bad Ive the last few years, but I chalked it up to covid this last year. Today there were NO bananas and no herbs. This isnt the first time something like this has happened. On several occasions they have been out of other various types of produce. I understand that this happens sometimes but when it becomes a regular Welly occurance it becomes an issue. I wont be back at this store until they can solve this issue.
I love their sushi, their deli section, and their international isle!
Star bucks rarely stays open. Everytime I come here their starbucks is never open.
This is for Kroger off Jeff Road. Im telling you this store is Hugh! I truly believe they have Everything you could possibly imagine. Starbucks is located in the store over by the Deli. Talk about convenient this is it. Love the great variety of products Kroger has. I will tell you unless you frequently shop here, it can be overwhelming. For those who need a scooter, they have a good fleet at both entrances. Thats good thinking on Krogers part they Care and do their best to make the store accessable for everyone. Food, it would take too long to list everything. Just know they have an outstanding variety of foods, it covers every diet. Tons of great produce, fresh as you would want. If youre looking for a one stop store Kroger off Jeff Road in Madison is your store. Just tell them Linda Crazy Lady sent you. Enjoy, pack a lunch lol, explore!
Seafood and Meat guy doesnt wash his hands. 2nd time Ive had a conversation with him. I dont trust their food to be clean any more after witnessing the food handlers go from pushing carts to putting on gloves with no hand washing. GROSS
This location is a massive store compared to the other Kroger’s I’ve been to and it still feels brand new so I definitely like shopping here.
Had an issue with a Darden gift card (Red Lobster, Longhorn) purchased in May that I had given to my mother for Mothers Day. It was not activated on the restaurant corporate end so it did not work when she tried to use it. Robert in CS called and got me a refund for the card. He was on hold for a long time but took care of it with a smile.
This place used to be great but especially around last year, its started going downhill. The employees are not helpful, and often rude. They argue with each other and with customers. The food and store is disgusting and unclean. Seen messes just left on the floor, and brought home food from their bakery to find bugs in it. Last time I was there, not sure if a pipe leaked or what but it also smelled like a toilet throughout half the store. Kroger what happened to you?For the record, the other krogers are not like this. Only this location (hwy 72).
Has gone extremely downhill. Never stocked and getting dirty. Stick to Publix.
Pick up for groceries was scheduled at 2. I got to the store and they told me to come back at 5.Received my salad mix and it was red and slimy. Terrible experience.
I absolutely love this location. Even though its a bit of ways from where I live the extra mileage is certainly worth it.
The Kroger on Hwy 72 is a joke. My husband is a disabled combat veteran and cannot wear a mask due to injuries he’s sustained while overseas. Not a single cashier would check him out. The cashier yelled at him in the middle of a crowded store and told him he wasn’t disabled and he was lying. He actually pulled up his disability paperwork to the cashier (after she requested) and the cashier continued to harass him. This is the second time this store has done this. We have shopped at at least 10 different Kroger’s and not a single store or individual has ever had a problem. Other than reporting to the manager and calling corporate I don’t know what else to do. That cashier should be fired for the utter disrespect she showed on multiple occasions.
Avoid using grocery pickup. Twice they said the order was ready. The first time they sent a text while on my way saying it would be ready an hour later. I then received notifications the order was ready. When I got there, I received a call saying the order would not be ready till the next day. No apology. No offer to make it right.Called the manager and got the same excuses about an automated system. This is inexcusable and wasted hours of my time. Customer service and common sense are sorely lacking. Avoid if you value your time. This location clearly does not.
Terrible I ordered like 5 times and it never came never deliver from this place
Love Murrays cheese counter& organic selection. Huge watermelons today! Only $4.49 for large watermelons!!! Recent visits have only 2 registers open and 6 people in each line. Only one side of self check out is open, and that line is 10 deep. The renovation is too long and the layout of the store does not make any sense.
Open another register and stock your shelves please.
Every employee and every customer I saw was masked, and they had signage about distancing in the check out lines. Ive been using pick-up or delivery a lot lately so it was great to see a store thats still following the covid guidelines!
Clean and never is over crowded! ( I always go at about 8pm maybe thats why) So then I get to shop not feeling so overwhelmed like I do at 8pm at Walmart. Walmart is still my #1 favorite and Kroger is #2 ( grocery stores)
Kroger Watercress is a great grocery store. Kroger PickUp is the best especially for seniors like me & my wife, who need to a avoid being in places due to the pandemic.
Best Kroger I have seen so far
This is by far the WORST grocery pickup service EVER! I have been a customer for over 12 years and can say Im done. My order wasnt ready on time. They call and say that it will be ready the following day at the same time. Okay. Im irritated. Not offered a comp. Ok. They call a few hours later saying its ready. Irritated but ok. My husband picks this order up and it has substitutions that I would have NEVER approved. Wasnt even given the option to accept or decline as usual. The substitution was more expensive than the item I ordered. Im so done with Kroger. Avoid AT ALL costs. Management needs to make this right.
Glad to see things finally getting back to normal.
The young lady at the self-checkout providing great customer service thanks I appreciate it
Always have what I want and what I need.
The produce quality has been disappointing over the last several months. On occasion I have found mold on items such as grapes, strawberries, blueberries, and containers of cherry tomatoes.
I have been very happy with Kroger until my experience yesterday. I went in to grab a few groceries on my way home from work. When I went I went to check out there was only one register with a really long line. I decided to try the self check out. I am not young and didnt come in after work to do someone else’s job. I was told at that time of day they have only one checker. It was only about 6:15 a busy time when people come in after work. I always buy my groceries And gas at Kroger because liked the service. But until you find it worthy to provide customer service I will shop Publix and Walmart. I am sorry but providing service means a lot.
Shopping carts are always broken, shakey, and noisey.
Grocery pickup system is an absolute disaster. Do not waste your time. Constant issues with staff and management with delayed pickup times, missing items, thawed frozen foods, etc. Add to that how customers can’t read the freaking signs about which way to enter the designated parking spots and it’s just a total mess. Whoever is managing this department needs to be released back to the job pool. It speaks very poorly for Kroger.
We typically liked this story in the past, but weren’t impressed by the recent experience my girlfriend had. If someone is buying something personal like a pregnancy test, it is not appropriate for a cashier to loudly announce your purchase and ask you if you’re “excited or not”. My girlfriend was trying to keep that to herself, and the cashier was incredibly insensitive and nosy. This store needs more training on professionalism.
I have traveled through this area for work for years. Of all the Kroger’s everywhere, this one is loaded with some of the absolutely worst nit wits. Several years ago the bakery manager thought it would be a great idea to put the commercial bread sliver out for customers to use to it their own bread. If that isn’t a recipe for injury and hepatitis. Now their self check out machines argue with you through your entire transaction and the one person in charge of the area probably got transferred out of that same bakery department. Most Kroger’s I love but this one is always a terrible experience.
So much to choose from, employees friendly and helpful, always added savings...lets not forget fuel points!!!
Worst grocery pick-up experience of my life! They called me and told me it was going to be two hours late. I called and asked to speak to a manager, and after holding and getting transferred to the wrong department, I talked to someone who clearly wasnt a manager. I wasnt happy, but ok. I get there, after having to completely rearrange my schedule, and call in. They say we will be with you in a minute and I wait patiently. Someone walks to my window and asks my name. It still takes 20 minutes for my order to come out. The server hands me a paper, and doesnt explain what it is. I have to get out of my car to ask her what it is, because she acted as if she cant hear me. Then she finally tells me that over half my order has been substituted or was unavailable. She didnt even have the decency to ask if I accepted those substitutions, she just started loading my car. Apparently because I am a black woman I am considered a threat, so now everyone who comes to my car comes out with a partner. Trust me, as an educated black woman, no ignorant employee or mid-level manager is worth my freedom. I ask to speak to a manager, they take 20 more minutes to come out, and are ridiculouslyunapologetic. I do get a refund that was reversed to my card, but I still dont have groceries, and I have to wait 3-5 business days to get my money. I never would imagine saying that Walmart has better service, but I have never had to wait longer than 30 minutes for my order to be ready and I certainly have gotten much better service.
I would go before noon. Even on the day the sale starts i find many items out of stock
We used to love this store. However, the staff is less friendly and much of the meat looked like it was going bad. One of the employees (perhaps mgr) in the meat section was publicly berating another today.
Clean. Not overly busy. Fresh fruit looks good.
I love Kroger! I can find most anything I might need and usually more. The employees are friendly! Which is nice when I cant find what I need. The store is not to far from home and it is great to have a Kroger card and get a discount on food items and gas!
The Kroger associates at the store have always been very friendly and helpful. I do use their Click List shopping program frequently, and love it! Makes it so much easier to get the groceries when I am in a hurry to get other things done. It also helps me to stay on budget by not picking up items I dont really need!
I just want to give a shout out to my favorite grocery store/pharmacy and all of their hard-working employees who are hustling to keep Huntsville and Madison stocked with food and necessary supplies.
This is a great store. It is clean, organized, and has a great savings system. The bakery area and produce department is fresh and yummy. My first interaction with a staff member was pleasant. The next time I went I had a question about the the savings card and the cashier explained it perfectly.
Had unmasked employee standing around the meat counter kept trying to stand by me, then the clean up guy with the floor machine was evidently put out at someones mess near checkout and started slamming things around, so guessing these people are getting stressed out. Not a pleasant experience though, so will probably find somewhere else to shop for a while.
Such a beautiful, clean store with very helpful staff. Valeria went above and beyond to give us great customer service and definitely deserves to be recognized for it! Thank you so much for such outstanding service and going above the call of duty to help us in our situation!! Thanks to Emma too!
I was going to get something from the deli. There was a customer in front of me taste testing everything. I saw several of employees walking around the deli department not offering to assist the other customers in line.
Cindy in the Kroger’s bakery is the most amazing lady. I had a birthday emergency and she not only pulled me through it but it’s one of the most beautiful birthday cakes I’ve been graced with. Thank you so much!!
My son and I initially stopped to get Starbucks, in the Kroger store, but decided to get some produce. I couldnt find my savings card, and a very nice young man helped us. He stayed nearby until we were able to complete the transaction successfully. I dont have a Kroger in my hometown and we were just passing through and decided to stop. Im glad we did!
Clean, well organized store. Very good bakery. Cheese kiosk. Large selection of cooking utensils. Some seaonal items. A really great store.
Kroger used to be my go to store for most of my shopping needs, but since covid and seeing how they handle their store during this epidemic I refuse to go there anymore. They are not encouraging their patrons to practice social distancing, no one way isles and they seem to do all of their stocking after the store opens, making the isles very crowded in a scenario in which we find ourselves. Is it so hard to get most of the stocking done before the store opens? When I go to publix they have one way isles, one door for entrance one for exit, keeping people from passing each other and they seem to manage to stock things before they open leaving isles clear for customers to safely move about. I also see Publix cleaning each basket before customers take them. To me its worth the peace of mind to spend a little bit more money for the caring customer service I get at Publix.
Its a great store to not only to get groceries but other items as well. You can find just about every thing you need. And offer discounts with the Kroger card.
Great fresh food selection. The store is always clean and organized. All of the employees are very helpful, they never pass a customer without asking if they need help. This is my favorite place to shop. The only draw back is that I wish that they still doubled the coupons.
Clean and super friendly people that ask if I need any help with anything just to let them know. They are friendly and helpful and not trying to sell you on anything. Everyone is knowledgeable about the store which helps when asking for an item and knowing then and not having to find someone else that knows. Highly recommend!
I go here for coffee, as Krogers selection is vast. The K-cup selection alone is a coffee aisle in some other stores.Wine selection is well-chosen, good stock of local beers, and solid bakery.Make sure you get one of those Kroger discount card things.
I always enjoy going to Kroger. One of the desk clerks Tori was very helpful helping me to find the right produce. I wish Kroger would build a store in Athens.
Wonderful place with many things to choose from. Delicious cakes with great decoraters very clean. Enjoyed their Halloween decorations and candy
Used the Kroger ClickList service. Order was ready at the time prescribed and filled completely and with no substitutions. Produce was perfect. We couldnt be more satisfied, and look forward to using the service in the future.
Biggest Kroger Ive ever been in & great prepared foods as well as sushi bar. They have the best selection of healthy & organic food choices. Reasonable prices with a huge selection! The store is impeccably clean with a great shopping experience.
So clean and modern. Its a pretty big store, so there are lots of options out there. Meat department is really, really nice, too. Never a problem here, just go on in and come right out with a pretty fast checkout.
We shop at this Kroger all of the time. Service is always great. They also have some very good sale items making it a cost effective place to shop if you pay attention. Also I like their app where we get a discount on gas which we take advantage.
Like every other Kroger Ive visited, the staff are unfriendly and unhelpful. On this visit I had picked up items on sale and told the cashier that I didnt want them if they didnt ring up at the published sale price. He mumbled something that included the word yes and blithely rang them up at the wrong price. This is a typical experience at Kroger. On the plus side, their produce is good, prices are good, and their locations are convenient.
Great deli, great overall selection. Perfect for both quick in and out trips, as well as full restock trips. Ability to build points for the kroger gas station is also awesome
A great place to get a big shopping done since they have great variety but you have to have the time to make sure you watch carefully at checkout. I almost always get overcharged for things and sometimes I dont have time to wait in line at Customer Service to correct it. Happens regularly and often its a big overcharge. : (
I love this store! It has a great wine selection and often you can find really good ones on sale. I will miss this store when I move to Pensacola soon
This is definitely the nicest Kroger Ive ever shopped at. Very clean, and the bakery is very good and very affordable. The cookie cakes are only around $10 and they will decorate it however you desire!
The staff is always helpful. There is a large selection here, and prices are competitive. The deli features quality items. The organic milk is a favorite of my family, and the meat selection is good.
Best Kroger in North Alabama. Love the variety of foods that this store offers. The natural selection is bigger than most regular grocery store chains. Great sales and great location.
Its really good, I have to really reach out there to think of a way it could be better as far as my needs go. Its much cleaner and more professional than any Publix. The bulk section is nice. Pragmatically a public online inventory and order placing system would be useful (if accurately and conveniently done) so I wouldnt have to call to see what organic or foreign things they carry when I want to try something new. Being able to place a lot of orders may be a stretch, but making the inventory publicly searchable wouldnt take significant extra labor in the long term.
Overall best selection in town! Drink a Starbucks while you shop, make a salad from the salad bar, visit the olive bar for more yummies, pick up some sushi....and this is all just the beginning! My one and only grocery store and more.
Its your average grocery store. I love that they have added click n pull! They have a decent variety of food, though surprisingly not a huge freezer selection. The starbucks inside is nice too.
Now my preferred Kroger location in the Madison area since the one on Hughes road closed, although the prices have been slightly higher here on some things. They usually have some good deals, and this one has a separate organic/natural food section, which is something that the Wall-Triana location lacks. However, this one is not 24 hours.
The employees are extremely friendly and helpful. I go to this store to pick up things that Wal-Mart doesnt carry or if I just need a few things. The fuel points are nice too!
Rebecca is the best employee at this establishment!! She was super helpful and had amazing composure and was attentive to my EVERY need as well as staying alert and prompt to her own responsibilities. She made my experience here the BEST Ive ever had at a Kroger! She could run the store with her beautiful personality and extreme helpfulness! If there were 100 employees just like her,i know this store would be famous!!!! Thank you SOOOOOOOOOOO much Rebecca for everything! You were amazing! Stay sweet!
We shop at Kroger often. Good selection of items. Good digital and mail out coupons.
The best Krogers in Huntsville. Big, clean, great selection, decent produce. The deli is fantastic. Very friendly staff.
Always a great experience
My favorite grocery store. Large selection of healthier organic foods, non GMO and fresh produce at reasonable prices. I would give them 5 stars if they would add more locally sourced organic produce.
Great visit! Kroger had all my hard to find items, like arrowroot and Palm shortening, tahini. Wish I lived closer, but well worth the drive.
They have the friendliest and most helpful employers in any store ive been in their meat and seafood dept. Is always a great dept. to visit jake was a very helpful employee and help me with my shopping!
Normally my cashier is great. She is a veteran and helpful. Military families support other military families. The cashier tonight did not know her sales and asked me for a coupon to receive a sale. The coupon she said I needed was on the app but, smug Whitney doesn’t know how it works or know her sales. The coupon wasn’t needed. On to another store and not coming back.
This is a really nice grocery store. They have a good selection, good prices, and friendly staff. You can also accumulate points from shopping here to get a discount on their gas.
This store is amazing. I have shopped Publix in the past but Kroger is a whole different level. The deli section is amazing with the selection of unique items you will not be able to find in other grocery stores.
This Kroger is my favorite and by far the cleanest. Staff is usually very helpful and well mannered. However dont go to the 15 items or less line with exactly more than 15. A rude cashier will call you out on it halfway through the transaction. She will ask you if you have 15 items knowing by the looks of the cart that you dont. She will then point to the sign like that is supposed to matter now considering the transaction is half way through. She will then redirect the people from her line and send them to the 15 items or less line if they have less than 15. They say the 15 line slows it down if you have more than 15 items however things would go mich faster if she would cash out HER line and keep her fat nose out of the other lines. Also if she wasnt redirecting everyone as if she is a traffic director things would run faster.
Nice place has a little of everything friendly staff and very helpful as well will deff start shopping there more often.
Day before Thanksgiving... And they had every register open and running! We love this place and will keep coming back.
Great service
Excellent selection of produce, meats, seafood, etc. Always feels clean. Open late, favorite grocery store in Huntsville/Madison! We moved further away and now come back to it again because the stores near us now just arent as good, especially in selection and quality.
Excellent staff! Easy to navigate, and Clicklist takes the stress out of grocery shopping!
Very busy. Sent to customer service after a long line to check out. I picked up an item which was shelved in the wrong spot. Rather than just calling someone up to exchange it for correct bottle or just refund it off my receipt, I had to go stand in another long line at customer service. Then they had to call to okay my getting the difference in the higher price of the wrongly shelved item. Just check the items you put in your cart carefully.
Kroger deli cannot get the price in their computer for boars Head blackened turkey corrected. It has been listed at $10.49 4 over 2 years on the tag and it always has to be corrected and their computer because it rings up at 12 99. It is not store specific, it relates to all the ones in north Alabama. Other than that the Krogers in Madison is nice.
Always clean, well stocked, great prices and employees.
This is the best Kroger I have ever sholped at. Emoyees are extremely friendly and helpful. If you cant find something they will take the time to help you find it. Prices are very reasonable and shelves are well stocked.
Whatcha your meat expiration date if you use click list. We have been using it for over a year now and the past few months, any chicken we buy with click list, has an expire date of a day maybe to days. Thinking of not using this service anymore as it appears they are trying to get ride of soon to expire meat here lately.
U will get lost looking at all the selections. Nice n clean area to shop. Good grocery store
