This company sent the wrong glove box for my truck so I gave them the exact measurements so they could get the correct one. About a month later I received the same wrong box again. So I returned both boxes and never got any reply to my emails and never was credited for the box or shipping on the second box. I spent nearly $40 for nothing and still havent been contacted by them .. its been several months now..I will never do business with this company again..

An excellent selection of Old Chevy truck parts. The guys on the parts desk are super friendly and know their stuff. Many own old trucks and are restoring them themselves. Mostly new parts, but ask them about used parts. I did yesterday and saved about $800 one one item (seat springs for 1940 one-Ton).There are occasional discounts and I even got the discount after it expired because I had trouble with their website. Prices overall are good. I think that their website is very good, though they dont. They are upgrading it right now.The shipping department is fast and efficient. Also they manufacture some of the parts that they sell.LOTS OF KNOWLEDGE. Just ask them. Highly recommended.

Initially during the restoration of my 1946 chevy pickup I shopped around extensively for the large amount of parts I needed. Soon it became clear that Jim Carter Truck Parts was the best choice and further shopping around was not worthwhile. The quality of the parts received was always high, delivery exceptional and while not always the lowest price, with the assured quality always the best choice. Through a 5 plus year build I took advantage of nearly every holiday sale at Jim Carter Truck Parts. Wow! 40 years. I can only account for 23 of those years. In 1997 I purchased my 1946 GMC pickup, model EC 101. It had no rear fenders and needed to have its original bed restored. The previous owner steered me to Jim Carter. The truck was soon complete, now wearing 4 of Jim’s excellent fiberglass fenders. Although I’ve had the occasion to buy and sell several good used and NOS fenders, I could never bring myself to remove Jim’s fenders.My truck became an early featured truck on Jim’s website; and I had the good fortune to meet Jim in person at several of the Carlisle (PA) events. Jim is, and has been, a tremendous asset to anyone who owns an old Chevy or GMC truck; and I hope he remains in that capacity for many years. Thanks Jim!

I have been doing business with Jim Carter Truck Parts for about fifteen years. I began with them shortly after bringing a 1936 Chevrolet Fire Truck home to restore. I got excellent information about parts I needed, and on two instances traveled to Missouri to pick up parts in person. While there was able to search through the basement warehouse to locate used parts not then cataloged. All in all excellent service, great prices and quality parts!

Back in the 1980s, my wifes uncle - Orison Tucker - bought a 1947 Chevy 3600. Since he lived only a few blocks away on Kingshighway, he was always stopping by to get parts. After Orison died in 1994, I inherited his 47. The first time I stopped by to get parts, I gave everyone a shock because I looked similar to Orison (and was even wearing his hat!).Now I am in the process of rebuilding the truck, and updating a few things. I wish I still had my first auto.. Well, Im one of the few who was able to keep it. I restored a 1957 GMC pickup (salvaged from my grandfathers farm) when I was in high school forty years ago. Im a long time, multi truck customer. I first bought from them as a result of them being at a swap meet in Springfield, MO in 1982 ( 1951 5 window Chevy), later in 1990 I bought from them for my 1950 3/4 ton stake bed. In 2005 they were my go to on my 1941 1/2 ton. Now theyve continued their wonderful service on my 1946 Chevy 1/2 ton. Wouldnt and havent done business with anyone else.

I doubt that this will get published, but since you asked ..I ordered a set of MEB 349 sway bar bushings from Jim Carter. The ID of the bushings received were way to small for my 52 GMC. I had other GMC owners measure their sway bars and found that mine was the same diameter. The hole through the bushing was about 0.600 while the bar diameter is 0.8125.I called Jim Carter to discuss the problem and was asked to send them one of the old, worn out, sway bar bushings. I sent it and verified it was received. I called two more times and left messages, but never heard back. This was in October of 2019.Last thing Ive bought from Jim Carter.

The website is a mess for ordering product.I havent ordered anything online in a couple years from them, but the changes theyve made are terrible. Very difficult to find things, and when I got to the last page of the ordering process and was about to press process order link I received an email confirming my order - before I pressed process order ?!?!?I ordered a single part that was difficult to find elsewhere, but ended up giving up trying to find my laundry list of things there and went to a competitor - which I hate doing, Ive done other old chevys and ordered a lot of stuff from Carters, but things have changed.
