Global provides excellent wholesale stringed instruments to luthiers like myself. If you upgrade the set up, new bridge strings. etc; the cellos really are quite outstanding. Easy to play, open, dynamic response and complex tone.

The owner is EXTREMELY rude. My nephew was visiting from out of town and his G - String on his violin was acting strange he could not tune it properly. I called to see if I could schedule an appointment to have someone look at it since he is 11 and I know nothing about violins. This man answered I asked him if it would be possible for him to look at and assist in tuning and then he began scolding me for not being ale to do it myself and how I should learn quickly. I will never go here, just from one phone call.

You can be assured Jianwen only sells the best because he is a fine professional musician himself and can actually try out the instruments he sells. Also the cases and accessories I have bought have been very high quality. Jianwen is always ready with good & helpful advice. Quality + service = The BEST!

Jianwen Tong, the owner of Global Violins, is not in this business for anything other than money. He may be a cello player for the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra but that does not make him a good person. He does not care about musicians, he only wants their money. Do not trust this man and do not give him your money. You can barely call this place a violin shop. Every other shop in town will treat you better and with more respect. Also, he has nobody there that is qualified to repair your instrument. This is not someone you want to do business with!

This is a very different type violin store. You must make an appointment to visit. This, to me, was beneficial because my time is important to me. The owner, Jianwen, a cellist, with the Indianapolis Symphony, is very direct and knowledgeable. He has instruments that I have not found anywhere else in the state. I absolutely love my new violin. It was more than I intended to spend, but I am a believer in a better instrument makes playing easier and faster to learn. I am 55 years old and a beginner, but am so glad I ended my search here.
