Great little diner. Wait staff was super and the food was delicious. Not to mention we had fun.
Clean restrooms. Clean restaurant. Cooks wear an almost completely white outfit (not dingy? White) with a little black to match decor. First thing I noticed when I walked in was an employee eating. That gave me great comfort seeing that she was enjoying her meal and not afraid to eat here. Food was beyond excellent. Service was just as great as the food. Didnt skimp on quantity. 4 bacon instead of 2, hash browns too an entire plate themselves etc...
Ive driven past this place a million times, but decided to stop this week. It is now in breakfast rotation for me in the area. Old school feel....really old school diner feel, but straight up good breakfast and genuinely friendly servers. Everything looked good besides. We were there late enough to see some lunches go by...friend chicken and meat loaf looked awesome. But healthy portions of food, and nice fresh tasting breakfast. Easy to park, reasonable I guess in price...but clean and quick. And they got it right. Ill be back here.
In town for a weekend event, looking for a good breakfast, and boy did we find it! I had the Texan scramble, my spouse had an omelet, one son had the chicken fried steak, and the other had cinnamon pancakes. All dishes were delicious and the service was great! We admired a few other dishes we noticed being served to other tables. I get the feeling you cant go wrong here! Highly recommended.
Delicious food and huge portions!! The staff was friendly and I would def recommend stopping in for a nice quick meal. We only had breakfast but it was all so yummy!!
The food and service was excellent. Everything my family (of 4) ordered was prepared perfect. We had breakfast, and it was better than your average Waffle House or IHOP. Our waitress kept my coffee full and served us well. Atmosphere was great and is set in the 50s style diner. Eggs were cooked perfect and my pancakes were still hot even at the end of my meal. It was served hot, fresh, and just as we ordered! Thank you for a great family breakfast experience Irving Diner!
Looked up brunch restaurants near me while visiting from out of town this place came up and they did not disappoint. The reviews did not lie, the food and service was excellent our server was Rachel! I’ll definitely come back anytime I’m in the area looking for breakfast or brunch, you should too!
Local Diner really stays true to its name. They treat you like family. You run into your friends. Its a great place to go when you want to feel loved! The food is so yummy. Comfort food is a good way to describe it. The best part ( if you love pancakes ) is the pancakes! They are big and fluffy, super yummy!! They have good service, great food, and low prices! Quality over all wins at Local Diner.
Felt like I was walking into the 1960s, super fun diner decor! Ordered the sliced turkey melt which was delicious - loved their sourdough bread. My partner ordered the stack pancakes but wasn’t impressed - should’ve ordered the nutty pecan ones. Portions are large so I recommend sharing. The service was excellent and waitress was super friendly. Prices are normal for the area - $16 per person.
So good. SOOO GOOD that we had to come back the next day. Great tasting food. Great service. I would give it a 6th star if I could.
Had breakfast, pancakes as big as the plate,definitely worth every penny, very 50/60s style restaurant with old fashioned paintings of movie stars on the walls

Great casual dining spot. Clean and spacious, with a counter and both seating. The food and service was really good. This is no greasy spoon. Diner classics. Breakfast served all day. Shakes and dessert as well. For lunch I had a half grilled ham and cheese sandwich with a side salad, and it was delicious. Daily specials. Fried cod on Fridays. Make it your local diner!
Nice place for breakfast or brunch. The food is served piping hot. Everything the people in our party tried had a wonderful mix of flavors. The portions are ample for all but the really big eaters.The best item IMHO, is the homemade salsa. FRESH ingredients, spicy but not overbearing. The servers are friendly and attentive.
It was a WONDERFUL experience. The food was very GOOD but our WAITRESS was AMAZING her name is Okia. She was so FRIENDLY and understands all about the menu. She made the experience of going there so GREAT. We will go back just to see her! And again the food was very GOOD. My two Sisters and I had breakfast there this morning and we all voted to go back again very SOON!

Cute restaurant, great music, good food and Okia was an amazing waitress. Relaxing place to go between soccer games, not too crowded and divided room, so not loud. Omelets, pancakes & breakfast tacos were tasty! We will be back!

I worked here as a host for a couple months. It was a fun job but some of the staff was very unprofessional and I ended having to quit. The food here is amazing but a little pricey. The diner is small but it’s very well designed. Honestly, if you have the money to eat here I say go for it. The owners may be unprofessional but the staff up front are absolutely amazing people who are great at their jobs.
Staff is extremely friendly so I give that area a higher rating. Once you’re seated they don’t really check on you a whole lot. Good depending what you like. I went Low on the food rating due to the corned beef hash is the exact stuff that comes out of a can. I’m confident it probably a can of hormel that you can buy for $2.50 on the high end. They charge almost $8 for it. Just rather disappointing. Ordered a “Belgium” waffle as well and it was very bland. Which is difficult for a batter. Orange juice tasted like metal at the bottom of the glass. Maybe too as well but I drink OJ fast. Overall great diner experience mediocre food.

Wow, the biscuit is the #1 ever eaten for size, texture and flavor, it was the size of a softball and oh so pillowy. Great melt in your mouth flavor. The sausage gravy was just as good, big chunks of sausage and the gravy on point. No extra flavors needed. Food was delicious. Highly recommended.
Ordered the Smothered Burrito for breakfast: two large tortillas filled with tasty eggs/potatoes smothered in Chili with cheese (so they are actually ENCHILADAS!). All very tasty.Iced Tea is a little weak for me but I do love the “Sonic” ice in it.Staff are friendly and attentive. Food is made fresh so you can wait a bit.

Awesome little diner in the Las Colinas area. Definitely a better choice than the big chain breakfast spots in the area. The servers are nice and during the COVID crisis they have been on point with online ordering and pick up. They are fashionable and still excellent food and service. They are open for dine in as well. The pancakes are huge and the french toast made to perfection. I had both on different occasions. I had ordered the fresh berries with my french toast, but it only came with sliced strawberries..which was still delicious. I had turkey sausage as well. Love the orange juice. And they make some of the best grits I have had in the Dallas area.Glad to support a local business instead of a major nation/international chain. And please tip even if you getting to go order.Wish ordering online was better, but calling in works very well.

Repeat customer at this establishment. Newer ownership than I remember from previous visits. It used to be Local Diner; now its Irving Diner. Fun, 50s style luncheonette atmosphere & great variety breakfast & lunch menu. Very nice staff who are great at making dietary accommodations (i.e. sugar free syrup, etc). Need to stock Splenda packets; not just sugar & Sweet n Low!

Pancakes were good and huge, but thats about all this place has going for it. Im not sure why is only has one dollar sign because it was pretty expensive for what you get. The breakfasts were pretty small for the hefty price tag and there was nothing special about them. Service was sub-par.
For home cooked meals that really taste like it came from your own kitchen I highly recommend Irving diner. They have the greatest onion rings in the world!

I am giving it 4 at of 5 stars because my standards are such that 5 of 5 is seldomly achieved. This is a great dinner that takes you to a time when life had less distractions and people were social. They held safety in place enforcing a face covering when traveling in the restaurant. I really enjoyed my classic Reuben and my wife enjoyed her philly cheese steak. The diner was clean and I loved all the neon lights. We were very glad to have had the opportunity to eat here and were pleased with the service and food and the ambience was very nice.
The ambiance is great,, like an old fashioned diner with a counter and all! The food was good but a little pricey. The drinks are not on the menu but be careful they charge $2.69 for them.

Run. Stay away. First time and last time. Too pricy for what you get. Coffee is weak. We ordered nova lox on bagel … saved myself from food poisoning. The lox was bad, had a bad odor to it. Took a pass. Also ordered a veggie cheese skillet … too greasy … bland. We couldn’t finish it. Ordered a half order of French toast and eggs with bacon. Meh … is all.Go to toast and jam across the street. Wish we had. Get more value for your money there not here.Oh and one of the servers was coughing up a storm …while handling food.Run. Stay. Away.
Cozy little restaurant with a lot of black n white photos of Hollywood Stars like Elvis Presley, James Dean n Marilyn Monroe to name a few. It was a cold morning, but the restaurant was warm. Jodie was our waitress n she provided excellent service. The food was ok.
I enjoyed my meal and the ambience. It had a quaint old timey feel to it and was quite clean. The staff were friendly and I look forward to my next meal here.

We just happened to stop in today and we now have a new favorite place to eat. Everything we ordered was amazing! I had the vegetarian haven pan with tortillas and salsa, by far the best breakfast skillet I’ve had in years. My husband had French toast and it was cooked perfectly. The hash browns, bacon and biscuit and gravy were all delicious too. The service was exceptional! Eric was so helpful and went above and beyond to make sure our meal was perfect. The retro vibe is fun and everything was very clean. I can’t wait to go back and try the other vegetarian options!

Absolutely love this cute and fun spot. Stepping in sends you back in time to the 1940s, 50s, and 60s. The walls are covered with photos of James Dean, Marilyn Monroe, the rat pack, Joan Crawford, and Elvis just to name a few. The amazing staff showed me to a table and the smaller pancake special caught my eye. However, the menu is filled with traditional, southwest, and southern entrees such as omelettes, grits, wraps, oatmeal, french toast, and scrambles. The waitress recommended that I add their cinnamon to the pancakes and I am so glad that I did. Literally my pancake tasted like a cinnamon roll minus the icing. Just yummy! The scrambled eggs and turkey sausage were good too.I love that they offer healthier options like turkey sausage and egg whites. Only feedback I have is for the pancake to be a little more moist and to turn up the heat as it was a little cold. Otherwise I will be back!!
My favorite place to have corn beef and hash. Also they make potato taters for me from scratch. There strawberries n waffles are also amazing!!! They just started food delivery to hotels near dfw airport. Am staying at red roof inn and they delivered the food in under 20 min

Used to come here all the time and then it changed ownership and its really not the same... the mac and cheese now reminds me of cicis pizza noodles with Velveeta poured on top. The food overall isnt as good as it was before and the atmosphere isnt friendly anymore. We came in and our waitress the entire time was complaining to the cook in the back about how people needed to stop trying to come in before they closed and how the other waitress called in or something... it made us feel like a burden and it made us not want to come back.

Slow service and was a chore just to get a piece of toast. First they brought us bread for my kids. Not toasted at all. After I asked for actual toast they brought one of them out burnt as if the cook got mad about having to actually toast the bread. Our server was nice and helpful however it took a good ten minutes to get our toast back in a diner with only 5 tables with people at them. So I give two stars for service it would have been one star if the food didn’t actually taste good. ThanksRevision I go up to 3 stars for how helpful management was
