We used to love this place. Swadeshi used to be our go to place during the weekend, however their food quality has dropped. I would not recommend Swadeshi to anyone else.
Excellent food! The best pani puri in Irving can be found here. It would be better if they worked on ambiance as well. Still, if you’re hungry and wanna grab a quick and tasty bite, this place is for you
I have been here multiple times and by far the best Indian food. Special mention to chicken fried rice and Indian pastries. They never disappoint you in South Indian delicacies. But still could get better at some north Indian dishes.
Onion samosa is really good. Chat items go well and evening south side snacks are tasty enough.
Food is good but always Long queues during busy hours.. can be managed better. Parking always a problem and people need to stop making the surroundings dirty.
Picked up Biryani for an early order (530pm), it turned out to be one of the worst biryanis we tried in recent times. I think this establishment is taking demand for granted and faltering fast.I would suggest to avoid at all costs, If there is 0 stard I would give it to this place for the worst $12 chicken biryani of recent times.
Lack of neatness. Disgusting. I dont understand why the people who serves the food there wear gloves. They touch every where with that same gloves and they touch food. They pick and pack the food with the same hands. Especially the appetizers. They touch the nearby areas, they do billing and pick the food with the same hands and packs it. So disgusting 🤮. Whoever visits the restaurant, dont forget to ask them to use the serving spoons instead of their hands. Looks like we need to keep reminding them about that. I hope Management will take it seriously and do something about it.
Swadeshi Plaza is one stop shopping for Indian grocery and food. This store has maintained high level of standards by selecting high quality products. All good but vegetables are limited here. Many time vegetables arent as fresh as in Patel Brothers or India Bazaar.Food is amazing that you can figure out by crowd this restaurant caters every evening.Meat is one big thing that this store is famous for. You always get fresh cut halal and non-GMO meat here.
This is a good place for quick shopping if you dont want to drive a little further at Patel brothers. You will get lots of Indian stuffs and halal meats over there. But the grocery is much expensive as compared to nearby stores and meats are way to expensive.
Frank is awesome, love coming for Pani puri, dahi puri, and chai (Irani /masalal).
Its a good small groceries and casual dining. They have good food choices and reasonable price. Service is good and staff are courteous and friendly. The only BIG problem we observe was cleanliness!! All spoons, forks etc was open. The person who was filling these was not wearing gloves. Sambar and chutney bar was a big concern for me as they have serving spoons but no gloves. All customers are using there bare hands to take these items. I think this is all good if life is normal but considering the pandemic our world is going through... I wouldnt come here or place like this again.
I’m a regular customer to this place from past two years. I have ordered for catering here. When I took the food home, my chickens kebabs smelled bad and we couldn’t eat it. I have also ordered a large medium tray chicken keema pulav and that smelled bad as well. When I tried to contact the manager and tell the same, he was very rude. He acted like I wanted a refund and couldn’t take feedback. This is definitely not expected. I don’t think I’ll be going back to this place anymore.
It has good variety of Indian groceries and cut meats and fish. But the prices are compared to the Indian grocers nearby like Patel Bros or India Bazaar. The smallish restaurant at the back is average and is always crowded. Naans are good and freshly made. Indian snacks are okay. I like their onion pakodi though. Curries are fine.
The ambience could be better. But the food is just amazing. Every item is made with its specific regional expertise.
No organization super buzy parking super buzy inside and they out of everything even chai 🙄
When you are in lunch hour, ordering a veg Thali for a dine-in should have taken less than 10mins for fulfilling. They were prioritizing all the ToGo orders and never cared to get the thali out even after 25mins. We were asked to wait another 10mins when asked, if you knew it would take this long won’t you inform your customers before taking the order. Horrible horrible customer experience.
Never go to this restaurant, I went today no water in restrooms and no drinking water. They dont have minimum respect for customers. If they dont have water have water problem why do they keep the Dine-In... they just need money and dont care about customers. We ordered some started which they ate good Biryani is worst. They just need money and dont have minimum courtesy. Never go here
Good place for deshi grocery, good quality chicken and goat also loved the food over there.
Good food priced decently. This place is always busy with takeout orders and their chaat place. They have a good selection of Indian snacks and pastries which is a good option for when youre in a rush. The place takes phone orders which is the best way to skip the long waiting lines inside. The Kodi vepudu is my favorite of all the evening meats snacks. A convenient grocery place is attached to the Cafe. The only caviat is the meat which just doesnt taste good (trust me Ive given this place many chances) which is why Ive taken out a star. Id suggest you get your meat elsewhere especially Mutton.
Yesterday I ordered the biryani and biryani rice they declined the order I dont know the reason when I asked to manager a srikanth hes not willing to disclose the reason Im not sure because of Covid they are not disclosing the reason for delivering the food and they canceled my order when I asked the reason for cancellation they did not disclose any reason if it is a covid please be aware of that thank you
I wish I could give Zero stars. Worst customer service and even prices of the food are exorbitant.I had encountered worst food experience. I ordered chicken biryani and saw a roach in it. Id rather sleep hunger than ordering food from them. I recommend that there are better restaurents near by this place. Better skip this place or you will end up eating different kinds of insects. Id try to file a complaint to the food safety to inspect this place.
This place has no organization what’s so ever. Wait time is ridiculous! People don’t care for the well being of others, 90 percent of people walking around and no mask, but the worst part of it is management does nothing but promote more COVID-19!
It used to be best to go place for pulavs. Now they make worst tasteless food. Chef might got changed. Inspite of mentioning that the food needs to be spicy, they made it so bland and tasteless.
Heard a lot about swadeshi and decided to give it a try. Had paneer biryani recently, found it to be extremely spicy. Maybe my taste palette is not used to it, so didnt enjoy to the extent I would have liked. Will make sure to specify the spice level next time :)It was freshly made and taste overall was decent. I felt the pricing is on the higher side compared to other places, based on the quantity that was provided. Will definitely try out other items in the menu next time.
Tasty food and kadak chai
All the foods are great. Chicken biryani is my favorite 😋
Good Indian Food, still one of the best in dfw metroplex. Be prepared for long lines at peak times
Guys if you want to eat North Indian with your favourite butter naans, then do not go there. They will provide frozen Naan just microwaved and served. That also without butter and they will call it as butter naan. Better to buy Deep’s naan yourself from grocery store and bake it at home. They are making people fool and selling a frozen naan in $2, wow in that price you can get yourself from grocery store 4 naan in $2. Really disappointed
Love the chat and kodivepudu..and snacks peanut pakoda is the best
Cashier is very rude at Pani puri stall. If you dont want people to eat with out paying the bill, let them know before itself. I stood up there for sometime before the bill counter with my card for paying the bill and no one responded, so we ordered and having the food .Pani puri Cashier asked for the bill as if we are leaving without paying the bill . I went and paid the bill at the main cash counter. The cashier at Pani puri stall was checking our bill in the backend whether we are paying the bill or not, he stopped us when we are leaving, I told them we paid the bill, he told we missed an item 5$ which was not added to total bill. We paid it. The panipuri cashier was like Gotcha, found you . Why would some one pay the whole bill for 40$ and would try to miss the 5$ ? And some one who is a regular customer. Very disappointed in the behavior of cashier. Me and my friends would rather not visit this store and will prefer an other store. At least treat customers with respect. The cashier should be attentive while listening to the order on what the customer is telling, dont blame it on the customer if its not added to the bill. You lost a regular customer. treat people with respect and you will receive the same.
Fried rice, dosa lovers, pani puri and chat enthusiasts.
Poor management long line only one person working desi owner they want spend money
Pani puri is top notch and a must try for all the desi folks who love pani puri. Pastries, onion pakora were the other items that I tried and found them yummy. Chicken starters(I tried chilli chicken and chicken lollypop) are good, but not great.
Good food.. less place to sit...dont plan to sit and eat... Beranies are good..
Prices of food items at Swadeshi Plaza, Irving TX have increased by $2.00 and now are touching the sky. The Swadeshi Plaza is becoming unjustly rich at the cost of the regular customers. It has become much more difficult for the people of ordinary prudence and common man consumers to buy the necessary food items at this store. Being a very old customer of this restaurant, neither I nor any of my friends and guests will be coming to this store until their prices come down to the reasonable normal price range or as before. The Swadeshi Plaza company has become exorbitantly greedy!. Amardeep Singh Gill, Southlake TX, USA.
Worst customer service.I have ordered Chicken Fry for a to-go and they gave it in a small foam container. The container couldn’t hold it and the food literally bumped out into the plastic bag with oil all over and had to trash it. Doesn’t worth it at all.Not buying from them again!
Get Fresh Vegetables and Indian cuisine.
Excellent Irani chai and food. Very good service as well. Definitely recommend.
The good place to get fresh vegetables and fresh food but bit pricy compare to competitors. I don’t see good amount of departmental products and they don’t process transactions less than $5 through card. It’s good place to get fresh meat like chicken, goat and fish.Over all it’s good place to get vegetables or meat.
Love the food here. Excellent quality. Some things are very spicy such as sambar. But over all if you like South Indian food, this is one of the best in this area
Worst place to go for a take out of you are in a hurry! They make you wait for 30 minutes for a simple order of biryani! Just to pack and give why should they take so much time?
Good shop for some basic Indian groceries, meat(deer also sold). And more crowd attracted for hot india breakfast, lunch and snacks. as space is limited sometimes crowded which is not good for pandemic situations.
It was a great disappointment placing order at Swadeshi. We have ordered Paneer and Chicken Dum Biriyani and requested the staff to make our food “spicy”.To our surprise, not only the food we ordered was extremely mild it didn’t even include the actual flavor which makes up the Biriyani. Our food was nothing but a mere flavored rice. When we have reached out to staff over call on the same, they were extremely rude and blamed us for requesting the order to be “spicy”.I would rather sleep out of hunger than ordering at this place ever again. I hope this review of mine helps you understand the place better.
Ok place, Food here is overloaded. multiple options to pick for veg and non veg, but very pricey and not every item is good. pick careful.
Worst grocery store I have ever seen. Vegetables are so pricey and dont look that fresh if you compare with other groceries. For example, cauliflower price is $4.99 whereas cauliflower in all nearby stores is less than 3 dollars. This is true with other vegetables and also with rice and flours. In restaurant, just two weeks ago increased the price of all dishes and combo meal by $2.00 which is outrageous. I have never seen price increase by this much in my 25 years of stay in USA. They have not changed sitting arrangement that they could justify price increase. (This place does not have great sitting arrangement like Sarvana Bhavan). Also the restaurant sometimes make issue and sometimes dont if you ask for extra sauce or little raita. Ask for 50 cents which is so unbelievable. This place is not worth to go. Me and my friends wont go until price is going to be reasonable.
Worst service ever. Waited for 45 mins in line. Ordered shrimp curry. Got shrimp mixed with butter chicken gravy 🤦♂️
Too much attitude with meat department!!! Wont cut the meat the way you want it. Need to employees who would listen to customers needs and wants!!!
Swadeshi is hiking prices like crazy.Every weekend we usually have aloo/poori for breakfast. Since swadeshi is near I usual get it from here. Typically puri/masala in any DFW metroplex restaurant ranges from $5 to $7.Swadeshi had it priced at 5.99.All of a sudden they increased it to $8. I agree that the food here is good. But paying more than 30% for food does not make sense. There are many other good restaurants especially in Irving.
Love bone in dum biryani there its really good.
Best place for chicken.... you get small and medium size chicken pieces or you can get them custom cut as per your choice
Good food service is poor to many people on the counter to fill the order they are confused bought a Wada for came home saw no chutney thats weird I understand they are busy & mistake happen but they should keep profestional staff not some old guy was very disappointed in front of friends last time bought the same thing the chutney was already turn bad please make some changes food is very good like it ignored will turn hot breads
Cheap quick indian lunch menu.. Chat is best in town
I wish there is a 0 star rating, Swadeshi Plaza food court deserves it.Ordered Chicken curry, I was surprised to find ONLY Chicken Skin. Like they are not even trying to hid it or anything. It was mere collection of Chicken skin and a few bones. I have never seen such a disgraceful food place. Please save yourself some, health and money go to a different place.I was never frustrated by any restaurant at this level. Honestly, any cool tempered guy would go nuts.
This is a very busy place. Unless you want to dine in, never come here and place an order for togo. It takes forever. Better is to call them and place an order. There is an option to place online pickup via uber eats. But the price in uber eats app is 1.5$ more on each menu item than instore. So I recommend placing a pickup order by calling them. Appetizers and snacks are tasty over here but im not a big fan of main course items. This is just my opinion as per my taste. But you might like it.
Food-This is a positive thing at this place. The taste of the food is nice. This place maintains the quality. One of my friends who is extremely picky likes this place. We too like this place for the taste.Service- This needs improvement. In these times of Pandemic, it is important that pick up orders are given to customer as soon as possible( once the order is ready) to avoid gatherings at the place. Taking additional orders from pick up customers and delaying the other pick up orders because of this ad hoc ordering is not a good way especially during these times. Please try to have the pick up rules similar to other big retailers which will only enhance the perception of this place.Overall- recommend this place for food taste if not for service standards
Ordered Ulavacharu Biryani it tastes just like normal biryani. When asked they said they will mix biryani masala in ulavacharu but still... the ulavacharu taste is like very little to non existent.
Food variety is greatIrani chai is yumStuffed chilli bajji was yummySamosa chat was okVada pav was just bun and Patti no chutney nothingWait time is so long even on weekdaysEdit :Very rude customer service, especially the girls working there !
I bought food last week it’s too spicy than expected and waiting in phone line is 1 hr and in person waiting in queue is 30 min.
Horrible food. Very very spicy biryani that we had stomach ache all the day. Ordered the same food many times but the quality has changed recently and keep on increasing the spice levels. Only recommend this restaurant if you want to risk your health.
By far the best food in dallas and one of my fav indian go to places. My favorites here - all Chaat items, biryani and indo chinese are good too, pulavs are good. Never tried curries. Savory snacks and pickles are so amazing! Some of the pastries are pretty good.
Best place for all kinds of Indian food. Perfect.
Ambience can be much better! But good food! I would recommend for Togo only!
It’s good but not well maintained neatToo crowded placeI don’t see any good maintenance between veg and nonveg stuff
Good plaza for purchase grocery items.
Food is too too spicy. Not suitable for children and for people who dont prefer spicy food. Even if we request for less spicy food they dont serve.
Food is really good and just loved the ambience. Service is quite satisfactory and I recommend everyone to visit this place.
Panner curry is watery, Garlic Naan hard to chew, not worth the money.
They have increased the price around 20% for each item.
This is an amazing place with authentic flavors of Telugu food. Must try masala mirchi bhajji and punugulu!! You will also find Hyderabadi style panipuri.Updated Review (6/21/2019)Ordered Paneer Butter Masala for pickup and got “Paneer LIQUID masala”😂 - paneer floating in diluted butter masala.I wish google allowed videos to attach in the review.
6/23/2021 It was not busy at all. But Customer service was horrible.. started from chatt stall to the main counter for food.. We used to stop by a lot but not sure what changed, Plus too many good options near by... :)
They increased prices significantly since last one month..
Best place to go for evening snacks.
Good quality and taste.
Decent options in the store. Food was ok.
If you love spicy Indian flavor then stop by to grab your meal.
Typical Indian groery store but has 2 advanatages: The restaurant has quite a bit of options for delicious street food. Second they have a butcher so you can find different cuts of chicken, goat, lamp, deer meat etc. Grocery items are bit pricer than some other stores.
Nice store to get fresh raw chicken from
Good for quick indian grocery
Restaurant food is good and fresh and mostly consistent. Gol guppas are a must have. Store is well stocked too. A good one stop shop for indian groceries and food
Food is great but long queues, chat corner had a separate pos and very helpful.
I recently found at Swadeshi Plaza new people at the counters and the staff looks like changed ..customer service is not like before There were pleasant helpful guys before. Not interested in coming anymore.customer service and maintenance have dropped down. Prices have increased a lot on Food and Groceries. Better opt for other groceries stores and restaurants rather than Swadeshi Plaza in Irving.
