They have different varieties of meat available . I didn’t purchase anything because the meat had blood all over the bag . I don’t like the smell of this place it’s really breath taking . Please find somewhere else to shop that’s decent .

Pricing is so resonable especially doing this pandemic you can get 6 porkchops for 3 dollars and change, pack of flats for under 4 dollars vs paying 10.00 or more at a restaurant alot cheaper fresh meat and vegetables

I first discovered Star Meat in Orlando years ago. I move away then moved back home to Jacksonville and found out one was coming here. Every time I went to shop it was clean. The prices were more than affordable and the employees are very nice. Whatever I ask for that wasn’t in the showcase they would go and bring fresh meat fresh cut. I was feeding people in the Housing Project was able to get Chickens at a great price. Made my work and pocket feel good.

Very clean store. I got chicken wings and Turkey wings at a very reasonable price. Very pretty poultry and produce. I will definitely be returning. The service was good. It felt like a homely family oriented atmosphere. Very nice.

I love my recent visit to Star Meats. The meat was much less then what you pay for at the Supermarkets. As well as the vegetables. Both were fresher then what you get from the big stores. I love the no preservatives in almost nothing in the store. At least items I was interested in.

The store was not crowded. The collard greens bunches was of nice size.

I first experienced star meat in Orlando. However, the meat was cheaper, vegetables were kept adjacent to the meats in another building. Jacksonville opened up totally different, I have had chicken so badly bruised, and had to take back twice. I hate they wrapped some vegetables cause its usually molded the broccoli especially. The staff are always pleasant, and its clean. Orlando store much better.

I was pleased with this meat market until my parents experienced a mishap with their Food for Florida benefits. As I am a patron of this meat market on a regular basis, I suggested that my parents come to Jacksonville from Gainesville, FL to purchase some meat. At checkout, my mothers pin number was invalid and after repeated attempts to change the pin number, she was unsuccessful. This error caused my parents to pay cash for their grocery bill, which is what they do normally. After speaking with the Department of Children and Families, and correcting the error, my mother was advised that the business should refund her cash and conduct a second transaction that would debit the total grocery amount from her EBT card- only if she presented the original receipt, which she had. She spoke with the manager of STAR meats and she was told that the store would be unwilling to accommodate her. Needless to say, I, nor members of my family, whether local or distant, will patronize this store any longer. My parents could have easily left the $294.00 of grocery in the store, but because they did have cash, they decided to purchase the grocery they had chosen. In addition, I thought this was a religion-based business. How is this outcome indicative of a store that makes decisions based on religious morale?

From the outside the place looks like a steak house. But inside it is a treasure trove of meat, vegetables, fruit, and more.The prices are very affordable and the variety of meat is decent. They dont have a large selection of fresh produce but they do have the everyday needs like bell peppers, onions, potatoes, and the like.The store is smallish inside but the variety of meat is excellent. Beef, pork, chicken, smoked porrk bones, smoked turkey legs, necks, and wings. The quality is really good. I personally have purchased quite a variety of meat and produce. They even have Rabbit, Duck, and fish, as well as frozed vegetables for those who want them.They have daily specials on their reader board, and are a Christian owned and operated company.The staff is always friendly and the store is aleays clean. The BEST part is they take SNAP benefits. Shopping at Star Meat Hojse will definitely help you stretch your food dollars further.
