Doctor was great but the receptionist/girl that fit my contacts was very rude snippy and impatient every time I was in there.

Not crazy about the doctor, I liked the woman at the front desk, I didn’t understand why I HAD too pay a extra 40 some dollars for a test because I opted no dilation of my eye being it makes me sick. Wasn’t told this when I made the appt. The doctor came in the room never introduced herself too me.. I actually asked her her name... Then when we were discussing 2 week contacts, she advised me that they definitely need too he replaced within the 2 week period.. her smart remark was... They are only 18 dollars a box so there’s no excuse not too follow directions, they are cheap! What professional says this too a potential client? Not too mention it was $248.00 dollars and I got nothing but 1 pair of 2 week contacts AND a tiny box with some solution!! Needless too say because of the doctor I will never go back, it’s a factory 1 in and 1 out!! She was very unprofessional in my opinion....

I paid for an incomplete prescription. They would not measure my pupillary distance. I cannot order glasses without this measurement. The waiting room was a madhouse, and I wasnt seen until an hour past my appointment time. Overall a waste of time as well as the waste of money.

My wife went in for an eye exam, but they didnt have any glasses frames that she liked. They gave her a prescription, but didnt give her her pupillary distance on the prescription. We called to ask about the measurement, and they told her youll have to go somewhere reputable to get that measured. Long story short $150 later my wife still doesnt have glasses, and they pretty much said they arent reputable.

I never write reviews but...the lady at the desk was EXTREMELY RUDE!!! She worked on 7/24 with stitch scrubs. She treated me like I was dumb and acted like she didn’t really want to be there. I have never experienced such poor service in my life. However, the doctor is cool and very nice.

I just left the facility in tears. The staff was incredibly pleasant and I had a great experience until I met the doctor. I explained to him that I struggle to make out things that are far away. When I asked him why something was still blurry, he proceeded to tell me you dont have a degree and you wouldnt understand. I told him I trusted his professional opinion but asked why the letters got clearer but smaller and he again just belittled my intelligence. After maybe THIRD question, he told me he couldnt make me happy; he got up, waked to his desk clerks, told them I was going to see another doctor, and walked into his office. He said nothing else to me. He dismissed me and left. We were in the room for a total of 5 minutes. I asked three questions to help my eyesight, but apparently that was enough for him to walk out and me away. It was the absolute worst experience Ive ever had in a professional setting.

Dr. Stella is amazing. I went in for a routine eye exam last year and found out I had raised interstitial fluid in my brain. He referred me to the appropriate doctors and was constantly following up ensuring he was taking care of and exploring all avenues to find the cause of it. Definitely made what could have been a very scary situaton into a calmer process.

I was told that I would be getting a call the day before my a appointment as to whether or not my insurance was going to cover the visit, I was never called.They shouldnt OFFER to call me, if theyre not going to. Also, a day later, and after many times of asking, I still dont know if its covered.There was a VERY long wait. I made an appointment about a week in advance, and when I arrived I had to stand until I could be seen because there were no chairs open. I also had to sit in the doctors office for about 40 minutes before the doctor came in.I gave the review an extra star because the Doctor was very nice, and very knowledgeable. When she came in it was only a matter of minutes before I was out of there, prescription in hand. It was the GETTING to her that was the issue.

HIGHLY recommended! Short wait, quick in and out, and the doctor and staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

Kept me informed of my appointment via email and Text. Showed up 15 min earily and was being seen within 30 min. Made me feel like I was of value and not just another number. Would recommend their services to anyone that is needing a routine eye examination. Doctor seems very knowledgeable and truly interested in my eye health. He did not treat me as just another body with was interfering in what he wanted to do and was in a hurry to get my appoint over so he could collect his fee. This was very refreshing and appreciated.

I had not gone to an eye apt in several years and this was the first time at this location. The dr was very helpful, kind and thorough. He took time to answer my questions and get me the correct prescription. The nurses were also very helpful and kind.

The Staff and the Doctor were very courteous and friendly. As a walk in customer, although they could not take care of my needs right away, they were able to assist me within a few hours.I would highly recommend them.

I recently visited this eye doctor and had a great experience. The doctor was very patient while doing the which one is better, one? or two? thing. My wait was very, very short, and the staff was very friendly and professional.

The office itself was very friendly and helpful. They also saw me as a walk-in in a very reasonable time. My only knock is it is in a Wal Mart that is extremely busy. Personally, I didnt expect to have such a good visit from a clinic inside a Wal Mart. Maybe if it was inside Target.........

The service itself for my exam was great. I asked kindly for a copy of my prescription including the PD number needed to order glasses, and was refused, and the doctor stood there to argue with me for about 10 minutes before I ended up leaving with an incomplete prescription. I will never go back soley on the fact that they refused to provide me with my legal right to my records because I did not want to order their glasses.

Dr Vaughan was very knowledgeable and took his time. The staff- Jenn, Ashley and 2 other ladies- I apologize for not getting their names- were very helpful and super easy to work with.

I got in on short notice to do a follow up from Urgent care from the day before. He said that I had the wrong drops and he gave me a prescription that helped.

The service was excellent. They are friendly, timely and actually listen. I will definitely return.

The staff was friendly and kind and thats something i look for when Im at the eyedoctor/doctor/dentist etc. nobody wants to go somewhere where the staff is rude. I was in and out witch was great i would definitely recommend this place to others :)

I went to the Jacksonville Walmart highway 17 location for Risk Optometrics and I didnt have the best experience. I have a pair of eye glasses that I purchased in 2015 for this same location that was giving me bad headaches, also I am in the process of going back to my job as a driver after I was in a bad car accident last year, so I was trying to see what was wrong. I visited the location in Jacksonville on Marine Blvd at 11:30 am. When I went into the eye care facility there were no customers in the facility. I also noticed when I got home on their website it says walk-ins welcome. When I got in the office there was a blonde woman and a brunette women. Next, the blonde woman told me that I would have to make an appointment? She then made me an appointment for 1 pm? I basically went outside and sat in my car til 1 pm because I live kinda far away and theres no point in driving all the way home then back. When I came back into the facility there was still no other customers, and I dont even know why I had to wait? Next, they had me do the pre-exam with the brunette woman. I looked into the 2 machines and then the woman seemed a little puzzled at her paperwork. Next, she asked me if I had my current glasses with me and I said yes. Next, she put my glasses into a machine and examined them, but she still seemed a little puzzled. I didnt realize until later on that night that at that point she knew my prescription hadnt changed and I didnt need the eye exam to fix my headache problem, but she wasnt disclosing this information to me. Next they sent me in to see the doctor. After he had me look into some machines first, he then said most peoples prescriptions dont change after age 21. I am age 28, and I dont understand why he couldnt say this before I looked into the machines? Then he explained to me that my headaches were probubaly because my glasses were made wrong. Then they charged me $94 for an eye exam. It wasnt until later on that night that I put the pieces together and realized how they charged me $94 for an eye exam they knew I didnt need, but they also knew that I didnt know this. I also dont like how they made me wait an hour and a half for no reason. Its not right how after all of this my problem was still not fixed, and the information they knew they could of just told me without charging me anything or making me sit through an unnecessary eye exam?? This isnt good customer service, especially for a return customer!!

Dr Glenn is fab as well his staff are helpful...relaxed aptmosphere! Will continue to be a loyal customer! Coordinator Consultant at front was so cheerful! Had left my insurance card and then had it there for me when I came back for my eye appt! Very satisifed!

I had gotten there a little later than I planned on and although quite busy everyone there were polite an helpful, I would recommend Risk Optometric Associates to all my friends. very professional
