AMAZING SERVICE!!!Took my girlfriend to the mall today just to get out of the house. We stumbled into this store and were greeted as soon as we walked in. She saw so many awesome things that she was curious about. One of the staff came over and convinced her to try a dress on that she liked but didnt think shed look pretty in. She tried on a couple of dresses and every time she looked in the mirror and felt unsure about herself they knew exactly what to say to make her feel beautiful. Shea was amazing and super attentive, helping her pair dresses with petticoats and shoes. I noticed that other guests in the store were also getting the same level of service.It was an amazing experience, and now that they have more apparel for men Im definitely going back for myself.

I have never had a good experience buying corsets in the past. Your shop and staff were amazing. My boyfriend was with me and even though we havent dated long he was pleasantly surprised at the attention the staff shows the customer. They make you feel like a Goddess. As it should be! You staff makes a huge difference in the lives of the people that come visit the shop.

This place is amazing for ALL body types.I am a size 16 jeans, and a larger bust woman and very body concise. EVERY time I have gone in, I have received nothing but positivity and encouragement! The workers there are fantastic and I love all of the different styles there! Expect to spend a lot there, unique and alt fashion tends to be more expensive especially the corsets of course. All around very good! I went prom shopping there and got a black jumpsuit and a wrap around sheer skirt that also doubles as a cape!!!

The clothing is fun and trendy. They surprised me because I also had no idea they sell some funky shoes and cute corsets too! The customer service was on point with passion for what they sell and love for the customers which you could see throughout the store and in every interaction. I highly recommend trying the store out, you may find, a new gem!

Brought my roomate in today to show him all the fun clothes that yall always have and as always had an amazing experience! Megan (Meghan? Should have asked the spelling) helped us the entire time we were in the store which was quite a while and she was amazingly helpful and personable! My friend was a little nervous to be stepping out of his comfort zone style wise but she went above and beyond to make him feel comfortable and came up with so many cute outfits that were perfect for him. If you are curious about a corset, Subculture is the place to go. And, Johanna is the person to see. Shes highly personable, always treats people with respect, and casually professional.The rest of the staff there has always been very kind and fun. The style of the store is eccentric.Any fitting specialist can work with all of the shapes and sizes that come in. I like Johanna because you can really tell she likes people regardless of who she comes across and she really loves what she does.

One of my favorite stores in Jacksonville. They have an amazing selection of alternative style clothing and they have a great plus size selection. The staff is always welcoming, friendly, and knowledgeable. Even if you arent into the alternative scene they have really cool clothing pieces and you will be welcomed all the same. I definitely recommend going.

Unfortunately I had already spent my budget for the day but I definitely know where Ill be going next time I need a corset or some unique accessories!

I was just trying to look for a pirates costume when this small angry young woman started having a bad attitude. She made disrespectful remarks behind my back since she thought I couldnt hear her. Little did she know I was actually hearing everything the whole time but she couldnt see me over the clothes rack anyway because she was like 4 ft tall. When I went to look at something else she continued with her snide comments as if she wanted me to leave. I dont know what her problem was because I was browsing peacefully and going about my business. She got what she wanted. I left the store because theres no way I will ever give these people my money with that classless service. Id rather die of lead poisoning from a chinese Pirates of the Caribbean mask than spend a dime at that terrible store with they way I was treated. All what I wanted was to buy something and instead I just got insulted by the worker there. Ive gotten better customer service from a 7/11 at 2am in Arlington because at least if I get mugged my money goes to someone more worthwhile. Stay far away.

Some of the most genuinely friendly and nice staff. A nice selection of clothing (mainly womens, but they do have stuff for guys). They welcome you in to try any and everything on, even if you arent going to buy anything. I always look forward to visiting the lovely ladies at Subculture.

LOVE the store, the aesthetic of the store, the brands sold. HATE HATE HATE the staff. They are nice enough but geezus DONT FOLLOW ME AROUND THE STORE TO MAKE THE SALE!!! Ive been several times and have left more times than not because I want to browse without being told that everything would look great on me, questioning my comment of already having something as though you cant purchase Alchemy England online, or trying to corral me to something else. Back off! Go stock, watch from afar, talk to each other - do ANYTHING but following people around. Stop the vulture like sales people and youll do better business.

Theyre very genuinely kind. Stock changes frequently, too, and much of it is imported or locally sourced, so it cant be found anywhere else. Fun store!! Staff is always willing to assist you with your shopping adventure. Staff will also push you into buying ANYTHING, wether it Looks good or if it fits!! They refuse to comprehend the word NO. They just give you a perplexed look and still try to push the sale. At the checkout they are so quick to blurt our the total cost, snatch your payment then quickly explain their super strict return policy. They know they are way too pushy & the markup on their corsets is ridiculous!!!

A specialty store with strange in mind. I love taking my wife to this little (its really not) boutique and spending some time letting her try on some outfits. The selection always changes so the styles never stagnate and the staff are always friendly and ready to help.It can get a little busy sometimes, so set aside a few extra minutes if you have a planned day ahead, but I promise its worth it!

Shopping as a plus sized woman can often times be stressful and intimidating. I didnt feel either of those things shopping here. Ive been into Subculture many times to browse and have always been greeted by nice workers, but I never purchased from the store until yesterday.I went in looking for a dress for my college graduation and I was so well taken care of that I can confidently say it was the best shopping experience Ive ever had. I was helped by Simone who was friendly and excited about why I was shopping. She brought dresses to me that she thought Id like and she was right about every single one. She helped me with sizing and never made me feel uncomfortable if something didnt fit. I bought a dress that I absolutely adore and some shoes I love to go with it thanks to her.Thank you so much to Simone for all her help in making a day I was kind of dreading be so wonderful and easy for me! Im really looking forward to dressing up for my graduation now.

Stumbled into this place in the Avenues Mall while my roomie (a guy) was trying to put together a pirate outfit for an upcoming convention. He wanted to look like Will Turner & the clerk who attended us spent every bit of his extensive knowledge of the stores stock to help us build a costume that rivals Jack Sparrow himself. And awesome place!

My wife and I have bought dresses and belts before at Subculture and we just love this store. This afternoon we went to purchase some new outfits for our vintage pin-up style photoshoot we have coming up. Johanna and the rest of the gals were so fun, kind, and accommodating every step of the way. They helped us shop, carried items back to the changing room for us, fit us into nee corsets and gave us tips for easy tightening and loosening, and helped us determine which outfits looked the best and assisted in accessorizing. The prices are a bit on the steep side, but the clothing is all just lovely and well-made plus the experience they give you is practically second to none. We were there until closing and left an item behind by mistake and Johanna was kind enough to call me before we left the mall and allowed us to come back and get it right before they shut the gates for the night. She didn’t have to do that and it was so sweet and appreciated!

I LOVE THIS STORE!!!!! The staff is absolutely top notch. They encourage dress up, and if you dont know what you want, they are excellent at picking things out for you. The selection is great! I love Vintage style and steampunk personally and they have both. I live over an hour away and it is worth the drive. Something I also love about their website is they use plus size women to model their plus size clothes. That is a big deal to me. I dont want to see a dress on a size 2 woman if I am buying a size 14. Seriously cant say enough great things about them. Go, Dress Up, Have Fun!

Amazing little goth-a-billy shop with all sizes.(fair warning larger ladies a 16/18 is a 2/3x) Was able to find things I know I can wear and be one of a kind. The staff is a bit over friendly, you can put on a burlap sack and they will tell you, your beautiful, buy it also a bit expensive but like a said you wont find these styles just anywhere.

I went in last night last minute to do some shopping with my friend. We walked into Subculture and I was amazed by all the gorgeous corsets, dresses and skirts... Looks like I found my store! Everything in the store was very well made, gorgeous and seemed to be very durable! Jess, the SA that approached us, was very friendly and knowledgeable about the sizing and fit of corsets. I chose the one I liked and she got me the exact fit... It looked amazing! Will definitely be back to get corsets and dresses from here!
