Hunted for windows - I checked big box stores along with several one-stop contractors. In the end, I compared apples to apples with big box stores and surprisingly for both lumber and windows Marling offered competitive prices. Thrilled to shop local rather than chain store. Long live local retailers! Old fashion service competing against mega-lumber stores.

Ive purchased several sets of cabinets from Marling over the last few years and the quality and price are always great but what I appreciate the most is the help they provide with not only ordering to fit the space but design and functionality consulting from their in house experts. You dont usually get to work with a professional designer at the big box stores.

For a family owned company you would think that there customer service would be great. Let me tell you, its nothing but horrible. Their sales staff is great and will give you lots of choices and ideas, but once youve made the purchase and its been put into your house they wash there hands of almost anything. Ive had better customer service at big box stores, which is saying a lot.

We came to Marling in Janesville to order replacement interior doors. We went to Marling because we thought they would be best at matching the woodwork of our old doors. Although there was a problem with getting the stain match....eventually Marling made everything right. Marling treated us with respect and made sure we were satisfied.

I ordered a sink less than a year ago which was April 2017 to be exact & I already have black mold growing in the over flow hole . The other issue is where the kick plate should be it should be the same as the rest of the cabinet which is a dark wood color and its not its lighter color . I could of lived with that but the funky stuff in the over flow hole I that harder to live with. I will never go thur them again.

Had my kitchen messured. First estimate was about 600-700 for counter tops. Second was over 2,000. A waste of time. And they should get their prices straight. Go threw lund. Quick response and way better prices :)

Bought a door 2 years ago no problems, go back to get another door, we want to match the doors. The salesman is no longer in sales. Encountered Jeff J, he writes up 2 quotes the proceeds to order the wrong door. We are told they make the doors themselves. WRONG!! They use a company right in the town that I live! We told Jeff we came in from Milwaukee to purchase from them. Do you think he could have said hey the door is made there, skip coming back here and the gas and pick up there? NO! We go back to Janesville, get the door come home only to find out its the wrong door, he ordered the wrong size door! We call and get no where except to hear him say ah huh, ah huh We had enough and talked to Scott Bower the Manager he talked to JEFF and Jeff calls us back to say that he will order us another door AT COST!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!! We said YOU SCREWED UP JEFF! He would never admit it! We said we can take you to small claims and then he talked to Scott his manager and said they would get us the correct door. We found out that we can pick up the door ourselves right in Milwaukee where they are made, NOT MADE BY MARLINGS!!! I called the owner TOM MARLING who questioned why I was calling him and I explained the whole story and he acted like he didnt believe me. He called back to say that JEFF made a mistake writing 2 quotes, Tom said he was sorry and I said we wasted gas driving to Janesville to get a door that was MADE in Milwaukee! He offered us a gift card for our troubles and I said so what we can come and spend more money at your store?? I dont think so! Bottom line....READ THE QUOTE THAT JEFF WRITES UP...HE MESSES UP AND NEVER SAYS HES SORRY ONLY MAKES EXCUSES! ASK WHERE THE DOOR IS MADE~IF IT SAYS WESTERN ITS MADE IN MILWAUKEE, WI. DONT BE FOOLED BY THEM! OVER 100 YEARS IN THE BUSINESS AND THIS IS HOW THEY ARE TREATING CUSTOMERS!

Really be gone downhill in the past 5 years.
