Well youll definitely find just about any of your adult and children sporting equipment and clothing. They do sell the highest quality equipment, but keep in mind that kind of quality definitely comes at a price ... A REAL high price $$$. Id shop around for the best prices you can find before landing yourself here.

They are only doing apps and sushi due to limited staff and that was OK but the pepper in my firecracker app was RAW and cold. Then our baked sushi was cold. No bueno.

Almost half of my items were marked differently from what rang up. There were several items that were off between $2 and $5 more an item. I caught just over $25 in over charges on a receipt of only $86. Isnt there law about this? If I hadnt of been watching I would have been overcharged. Buyer beware!

Great hours. Biking accessories section was limited. Was looking for locks and on bike storage bags.

Nice store but when I tried to find what I was looking for it took three associates to help me find it. One just pointed and said its over that way, one said we dont carry that anymore, and finally a very nice young man showed me right to it.

Always a well kept store. I have never had a bad experience. I dont like the way they currently have their checkout lines. But thats just nitpicking. Prices on some things are the only thing keeping them at 4 stars.

Was over charged for 2 items that were very clearly marked on sale today. Cashier called shoe department and then informed me I was in error and that shoes weren’t for sale. Before she could call for price check on second item I volunteered to run back and photograph signs because I felt very confident I had looked closely at signs. The entire price tag sign had suspiciously been removed from the shoes after the cashier called. I’m guessing because it was marked on sale like I thought and they were going to change it. The second item I was able to photograph the sign with sale price that was advertised. Cashier did end up honoring both sale prices without hassle when I told her I thought it was suspicious that the shoes all of the sudden had no price sign up after it was checked on. Every other pair of shoes still had a price sign up. I’ve shopped at Academy for years but after today’s experience I don’t think I’ll return. I’m giving 2 stars just because the cashier was professional and it wasn’t her fault someone else acted dishonestly by removing the sign.

Only reason Im giving in 0 stars is because I ordered a CRKT Minimalist and a Buck 252 that was around $60. And I just got an email saying were sorry we cancel an item because we didnt have it stocked i said okay atleast it just one. NOPE they canceled BOTH of my knife purchases. I spent hours on their website picking these two knives. Both of them said available for pickup today. Which is Tuesday, July 6Th. This is the 3rd times this has happened just in a few months. I will no longer EVER come into academy again nor shop online. Of you guys dont have it in stock its easy. Simply mark it on the website as NOT IN STOCK.Im just really upset because I wasted a lot of time picking those out and was looking forward to adding those to my collection. Goodbye.

Very clean and friendly, it was even closing time and i squeezed in the out door when someone was coming out and they didnt say anything, just helped me ! 😁 I bought a sain so I could catch minnows, to catch bass down below the Disney Dam in okl.

Everybody seems to find awesome deals on the clearance rack there...everybody but me. I do like their own brand of workout clothes. Very reasonably priced and fashionable. They have a great selection of kayaks and tubes for summer fun.

It was fairly busy around 1pm. Looking for a couple specific items which was found. Overall even though the store itself was clean it looked empty. Maybe sparse is a better word. Stimulus checks must of hit days eairler which may explain some thinning areas of merchandise.

They have nice and helpful staff that will check on you if you need help or need something.

Went into the store about 4 o’clock on a Tuesday afternoon had a specific pistol that I wanted to buy there was multiple sales associates all around the store the one I happen to pick at the gun counter was talking to another employee and I literally stood there for minutes wasn’t even acknowledged when I finally said something about them being busy they said ahhh we can help you and of course I left the store looks like I need to take a trip to Cabela’s

I went there today to look at the bows and crossbows and I had ask the only old guy that was back there a question and he told me he was on the phone but would get back with me. I walked away to look around in the hunting and fishing area and two other people showed up. He asked them if they needed any help and they told him they were just killing time. I dont understand!!!! You mean to tell me that you cant help me and in 5min I walk around and you try to help someone else but you refuse to help me? That doesnt make any sense. Everytime I go into this store theres either no one to be found or theres just one guy talking on the phone. You guys need to find more people to work in the hunting area. I dont appreciate disrespect. I asked for help and the dude wouldnt help me. Get better people that arent so damn lazy.

Went for a firearm related purchase.Dude behind the counter was very kind and knowledgeable. Super patient as the background check took a hot minute too.Prices are good, but limited ammo available. Cant fault them as its down to corona and shipping restrictions. Probably more suited for sporting rifles, but you can definitely grab a handgun from a small selection of popular manufacturers including Taurus, S&W and Glock.

I am glad there is an Academy store in Joplin as I have a love and hate relationship with Dunham Sports! On this recent trip I stopped in to find a 6 gallon bucket. My family and I go through popcorn extremely fast, so I got an idea to buy a 50lb bag from Sams club. A 50lb sack of popcorn does not look great in the pantry, so I needed a container to put it in. I figure a typical 5lb bucket would be too small and headed to Academy to find this bucket! To my surprise they carried them, and were on clearance for just under $5! I got home, cleaned the bucket out and then poured close to 50lbs of popcorn in the bucket. There was a little bit left over that i was able to fit in a Zip Lock bag. Academy carries it all, the one gripe I have is trying to find kids shoes. It might be my bad luck, but every time I find a pair of shoes my kids like, they dont carry the size. Academy, thanks for rebuilding after the Tornado as it is great to have options for sporting goods in Joplin, MO! Firearms sales are final despite being told incorrect and misleading information by the sales staff, and being in all the original packaging - stickers, box, tags & all. I understand the policy but if a company refuses to hold itself accountable for lying to customers, Ill no longer patronize them. Id prefer to pay few dollars extra to a local company with common sense and customer service. FYI, the Savage Axis butt stock spacer is not removable.

Its full of hooks, offering on the web a couple of long sleeved shirts, but they dont say that is only a couple of them and XXL just brown.

They had what I wanted a XL easy chair for outside. It opens easy & the seat height is at the right spot because I have long legs. Very comfortable to sit in. Drink holder works great. Employees are very helpful.

I was there a couple weeks ago. I bought a boat. The person filled out my paperwork. She signed the title. Well actually. She signed the Example title. So when went to get my boat registration i was told i had to go back. Ive never titled a. Boat before. When i get back to Academy the manager is disgusted acting. She fills in the front of title and doesnt sign the back as required by law! She laughed at me to another employee on my way out. So im back at DMV. (20 miles away). They ask whats going on with them? They show me where they need to sign. I go back to Academy! [20. Miles]. I get there and explain their mistake and the manager woman tried blaming it on DMV and never apologized to me at all. The Director then took over. A tree has more personality. But who. Cares right? He said we dont usually fill these out at all!! Thats illegal!! But not my job. But he didnt even want to sign it in the places i was told by DMV . I wouldve have to go back again if i listened to genius. I think im owed qn apology at the minimum. A 1/4 tank of gas too.
