Purchased all of my cars from CarMax and I can honestly say I have always had a pleasent experience here. Recently purchased a car with Sandi. He was very patient and understanding. We selected a few cars to test drive on the first day. He offered to let us do a 24 hour test drive. Although I didnt keep that car when I messaged him the next am stating I found a new car he was very flexible and had the car ready for me to test drive the next day.They do have masks available at the front desk and sanitizing stations throughout the store. Although there were signs requiring masks, the majority of staff was not wearing. It doesnt matter to some people but for those that it does its good to know before making the trip out.

The sales experience was fine. The follow through afterward was not as good. I was told of a 30 day warranty period where CarMax would fix anything I found wrong. I was having battery trouble and had my mechanic look at the battery. He stated it was probably original and near end of life. The charge reading was low. I attempted to call my sales person and each time, his page was never answered and my call got disconnected. I emailed him. He responded that he would reach out to service and get back to me. This was the last I heard from him even with follow up email from me. I never heard from him or service and the 30 day period has now passed.

Offered very good price for my car. Online Appreciation /evaluation saved time . Didnt considered minor car issues like small scratches, tires etc and not reduced price on that. process was quick even with minimum details provided to them. Came out in less than an hour. Thank you CarMax and team assisted in completing the vehicle sale.

My husband & I purchased our used truck last week that was transferred from Indianapolis to Kenosha. It took a week for us to go see it, but it was worth the wait. Steve helped us out through the process with great service. There was a hiccup where we had to redo everything twice & waited for hours, but he took care of it. They paid for us to go out to eat & gave us a giftcard for the inconvenience. There was also a small spot on the windshield I guess from rock damage. Instead of a repair they offered to replace the enter windshield at no cost. We did opt into having the extra warranty, so I cant comment on repair service yet. Overall, the buying process was a decent experience with Carmax & we will be back to buy vehicles from them in the future.

If you want fast top dollar for selling your car. Carmax beat all other dealers by $6,000.00. It was crazy.

The process of buying a new car was very easy and effortless here thanks to Chris and Hannah even though is hot outside Chris took the time and had patience to find the right car that I was looking for in my price range, size, and year. I HIGHLY recommend coming here to buy a car. My sister, niece, and I walked the lot without a sells rep hassling us every five seconds to get us to buy a car like other dealerships do. We are loyal CarMax customers and have purchased several vehicles over the years, but this experience was unique.I called in advance inquire about a specific vehicle, when we pulled up the car was just outside the front doors ready for us to test drive. The dealership understands the difference between hospitality and service and provided both.Social distancing and no contact made the experience different, but they made us feel comfortable at every step.

We came in on 9/23/2021 and had the pleasure of working with Sandi. Sandi was very kind, pleasant, and patient with us even though we brought along our 3 year old and 4 week old children. We had a vehicle transferred but we didn’t end up buying it. Sandi made every attempt to locate a vehicle that fits our needs and wants, and we were able to find something great (we are awaiting the transfer of the vehicle from another location). My experience with Carmax was excellent. No high-pressure salesman, I was able to reserve the car I wanted to look at and it was waiting for me and it was exactly as listed. They reimbursed me for an owners manual because it didn’t come with one and I am buying tires from them at their cost. The best experience I’ve ever had buying a car!

I bought a 2013 BMW x3 less than a year ago. It had 54,000 miles on it. I have had nothing but trouble with it. I brought it in several times for unusual engine noise. They told me it was normal. Turned out to be the timing chain, which broke on the interstate going 70mph. We ended up in a park & ride lot just as the car put itself in neutral. *luckily*. I had to have it towed to Carmax. The extended warranty only covered a used engine. Fine, whatever. They called to say my car was ready. I go to get it and wanted to check it out before I signed any papers. I go to pop the hood and nothing. The cable is broke. Now I have to wait ANOTHER WEEK 😒. There is also body damage that wasnt there before. I doubt theyll fix it. I give 0 stars and would never recommend anyone buy a car from there. I cant stand this place.

My cube was totaled in an accident and I thought that another cube was all I wanted. As Nissan had stopped making them, our Salesman introduced me to a Buick Encore SUV and I instantly fell in love with it! It fit me perfectly and I loved the way it handled. The ride was smooth, on and off the highway. It was a 2016, with only 16,000 miles on it. We went home and prayed about it and bought it the next day. I am thoroughly enjoying my new-to-me car!

I purchased my Toyota RAV4 from Kenosha CarMax in 2016, excellent service for the past 5 years. Toyota and Kenosha CarMax no longer have a relationship. There is a new Kenosha Toyota, tried their service; I will return to Kenosha CarMax for my service needs. Kenosha CarMax operate with integrity, service what is needed, no upselling, left feeling confident. A word to Kenosha Toyota, when you are following the best, do your homework, make sure you are better.

Has so far by far been the worst experience I have had with any car lot first week of getting vehicle i drive out of state for a work assignment, car starts making weird noises, take to the car shop they said my car has no oil unknown reason why, next week once again gone out of state for work assign water starts to flood passenger side of vehicle, take to a repair shop get it fixed, same day check engine light comes on and car starts jerking, auto repair checks for code and say return vehicle back to dealership something wrong with the wiring and water pump, its the 7th of october they cant get my car in until october 18th so i will have no car until they can get me in and im not even sure if the car will be able to be drove to the dealership, and possibly may not be able to get a loaner vehicle while they fix it because i may be over the millage due traveling for work! FRUSTRATED

Ali was awesome, we loved our new car, the process was smooth and we got a fair offer on the used Honda CR-V and our trade in!I love that there is also a 30 day return policy, which gives us plenty of time to test drive the car and not worry about buyers remorse. No sleazy sales tactics. We didnt feel any pressure.

I was told it would take 15 minutes to bring in my offer for my car. It took 90 minutes in waiting and getting the lease buy out done. I brought in my buyout straight from the car manufacture website. I came back to finish which took another 30 minutes and still the paperwork was not done. When I said I was told it would take 15 minutes, I was given my keys and told I could find my car if I wanted to come back. That would be impossible since I had to drive there with another car to come back. I came back a third time, which took 10 minutes. This place is a cattle line. Get less salesman walking around and more people working in the business center. Business people were nice but you could tell they were aggravated for the same reasons I am stating.

Used to drive to Milwaukee for service. Nice to have carmax Toyota here. Dont like the mark up on parts for service, but asked first and didnt push the extra work. Pretty decent value and overall nice staff

I worked with Tim who was very patient with me and it was an easy going experience. At one point added another person to the mix which I was unhappy with, and the person I was given. So I asked Tim from that point on if I could only deal with him directly and it was not an issue from there on in. I love my new/used 2017 Impala LT, with under 50,000 miles. I took it to my garage and they praised what excellent shape it was in. Outside of a duck taped front fender issue on the underside that brought me to my mechanic, and just a few dings in the car, it is a beauty and runs like a charm! My mechanic did an easy fix with the piece of fender plastic and screwed it in properly. Not sure why Carmax couldnt have done the same but no biggy, and no charge to me from my mechanic. I couldnt be happier with my luxury retirement car. Thank you Tim for making this process a breeze and making sure I was getting a good quality car!

I am really amazed at how quick and way it was I mean I took my time search vehicles really got what I wanted, there were some cons of course My budget was expressed however it went over due mostly to warranty that wasnt explained to me until day to pick up vehicle which I needed but wish it was met with my budget in mind. overall the service was very quick i didnt get a test drive but Im in love with it!! the color everything!! she did mostly everything on line and phone it was alot but worth it when we arrived took only less than an hour if that!

Update as of July, 2021I have purchased two vehicles from CarMax-Kenosha. Both vehicles have had no mechanical problems.Salespersons were great, and quickly directed me to the type of vehicle that I was looking for.Both times I was in and out in less than two hours ( if you are ‘looking’, that’ll add time ! ), and that includes financing.Kept first vehicle two years, and returned it to CarMax with a generous trade-in allowance toward the second vehicle. I have had the second vehicle for 7 months with no problems.( Trade-in Note: They WILL check out your trade-in very carefully, so keep it maintained ! ).

Had a great experience this time, July 2021 on a Saturday (pre-Covid I wasn’t super impressed with sales people, felt they were trying too hard to sell me a car, in the guise of being helpful). Sales person, Harry, was really great – NOT pushy, gave us the space we wanted but also made sure we knew where to find him for questions/test drive/etc. He was very friendly/down to earth, didn’t feel like we were being sold a car (we weren’t just another notch in his sale goal belt). He was knowledgeable, and when we had question he couldn’t answer, he didn’t lie or dance around it, just found the answer for us (another HUGE plus in my book!). He went out of his way to get us good info, make sure everything was accurate and that we were comfortable with what was going on. We actually ended up buying a totally different car than we started with and he rolled with it  was not upset at all the work put into the other vehicle so again, Harry gets an A+ for patience with indecisive/weird customers like us!! So positive and helpful, walked through financial stuffs great! Also, the 3 day payoff deal was great – got financed through CarMax quick and easy (this part depends on your credit too though) and ended up getting WAY better rate through my credit union ecu and the ‘payoff’ process was stupid easy. All in all love my new car and very happy with the process.

I had to wait 11 days to get my car. It was less then 100 miles away and (according to the email alerts I received) it arrived in my area in 2 days. It took my local carmax 9 days to detail my car before they would let me see it, and when I got there it was still not clean.In addition, the receptionist was less then welcoming, and there were multiple people who made appointments waiting in excess of 30 minutes for a salesman. I had my salesmans personal cell number, and called him after about 15 minutes. This shortened my wait, but didnt do anything for the other upset customers.On a plus side, my new car was worth the wait.

The place was clean, new and attractive, plus the person helping us was awesome. The process was painless and we left with a check for our old, small Toyota. Im pretty sure we got a fairly low price since CarMax sells their cars at an auction to dealers, but were happy to be rid of the car without having to go to the hassle of trying to sell the car ourselves.

I had a great experience. Tyler Maki was the salesman I worked with. He was very pleasant, explained everything thoroughly and accompanied me through each department I had to be in. Even when signing my paperwork, the lady I met with was pleasant as well. I felt very comfortable during the entire process and it didnt take hours like I usually experienced when purchasing a vehicle.

My experiences - this is my second - with CarMax have been great. The information on their vehicles is extensive. Their customer service is professional and friendly. The facility is spotless and they cover every base. These guys are rocking the car business with attention to details: my details, not theirs. Husband and I were in the market for a used Honda CRV. First we went to Honda of Kenosha and that was..well, I will have to write a review on the Kenosha Honda. Needless to say, we went to CarMax to see what they had to offer. Well, that day we drove home in a Used CRV. All the trimmings for Cheaper than that other horrible dealership listed KH. Thanks CarMax. You made buying a car hassle free and a much more enjoyable experience. Will return when we need our 3rd car.

The most disorganized, chaotic business Ive ever seen. No surprise how they lose cars in that mess. With so many better choices in the area, I dont understand how they stay in business. How????

My wife and I went there yesterday around 2:30pm at the business center front desk to avail an appraisal. There was a lady name Shary (in her mid 50’s I think)We were in front of the line and when we told her we were here for appraisal, she asked us to step on the side and told us she’ll call for someone (we did not see her calling anyone) but she let the two white couples behind us to step in front, by passing us. After 10 mins, Shary asked us what we were here for.. She just let the white couple behind us service first.She also said that the wait for checking the car is 1 1/2 hour so we left the building, but I called back (from the parking lot at the same business center, and the guy told me that waiting is just 45 mins. My wife was so mad and we just traded in the car next door @Subaru.If there is a supervisor reading this review. I would like to chat w/ you and give you more info from me.

Professional, honest and expedited from start to finish. Went from inspection to check in hand within a few hours. A truly refreshing sales experience, which is a rarity in the auto industry!

Had seamless social distancing with our purchase. Tyler helped us determine if the car we came to see had options on it that were safety items and towing capability we required. What he could not answer from the information available, he had an expert tech person come and talk to us, and show us in the computer information for our VIN what the vehicle had from the factory. When cleaned up and ready for us to drive off, my spouse noticed some tiny, subtle paint spatter on the door and front fender. Tyler said he would put in a work order for this. One week later after returning and waiting less than a half hour, our shiny, new to us car was ready for me to drive away. A dealership experience, that was not a dealership experience. Even if you have to make a long drive to get there, you will not regret your effort.

Great place. Good atmosphere. The salesmen are honest, and they don’t hassle you to buy a car. If you’re searching for a used car, this place is a great place to shop even if you have bad credit.

Would not recommend! Payed way to much for my car then when there was an actual problem with it they played it off like nothing was wrong even when I had two mechanics tell me what the problem is and what needs to be fixed. Now I have to outsource to get my car actually fixed.When I tried to talk to the tech about it he just told me that he had been doing this 20 years and knows what he is talking about. Then continued to try and tell me something completely different was wrong.Not happy and will not be bringing my car to them for any further fixings. I should have bought my car at a different dealer.

Found a 2019 Lincoln MKT through Carmax located in Kansas. I paid the $100 to have it shipped to Kenosha Wisconsin to verify the vehicle was same as advertised. Car was perfect! Did the test drive along with all the paperwork within the hour. Much better working with Carmax than a regular dealership. Price was listed over $3000 less than other dealers. No Haggle on price was nice. Kenosha Staff very friendly and prompt. Finance Department was awesome!!

I had the worst experience in my life at CARMAX in Kenosha. I submitted my car online for appraisal. I got the offer and scheduled it for 5pm on Thursday. I got there, and I was told it will take 30 min. So my wife meets me there at 5:30pm. Its 5:45...6:00...I ask and they tell me 10-15 more minutes. We call the babysitter and tell her were running late, well be there by 7. So, 6:15... I ask, she says 10-15 more minutes again. I ask at 6:30, 10-15 more. 6:45, 10-15...7:00, 10-15...7:15, 10-15...7:30, 10-15...They do this to us 8 times! Meanwhile, were $300 deep already to the babysitter. Girl at the business office absolutely couldnt care less. Manager even less. We gave up at 8:15pm and left without concluding it. Drove 45 min today to Schaumburg carmax, in and out in 15 minutes, EFFORTLESS. I have bought so many cars and sold just as many to CarMax in Kenosha. Ill never step my foot in there in my life. Ill tell everyone I know, friends, family and coworkers never to go there. Their attitude of not caring one bit was what finally did it. Absolutely the worst customer service Ive ever seen.

I just purchased a 2014 Ford Taurus from the Kenosha store, and might I say I had THE best experience buying a car. Literally saw it 2 days on the website. Filled out the pre-approval. Then got a real approval with a great APR rate. Over the phone Matt was very professional and very knowledgeable. So I drove 5 hours from Michigan to Wisconsin and it was well worth it. Met Matt and the rest is history. The car was better than advertised. Never thought I would buy a car and it only take 30 minutes. This store will be getting me, my friends, and families business from now on. Thank you Matt. You are the best!!!!!

Spoke with several sales people before going about all the paperwork that was needed for the transfer, drove a hour and a half to the location, test drove the car I wanted, sat for another hour just to be told I needed a notorized document to complete the transaction (Keep in mind my appointment was for 8pm on a Saturday). Needless to say I left disappointed and dissatisfied. There were several options to make the completion of the transaction, for instance their 24 hour test drive policy- which would allow me to take the vehicle home, leave my trade there, and bring the notorized document back the next day. But it seemed to me all they were worried about was closong up shop for the day. You can do better Kenosha CarMax.

I purchased my first car through CarMax, and I couldnt be happier. I had a lot of anxiety about purchasing my first car, but the entire process was extremely straight-forward and stress-free. They also took a lot of considerate precautions in regards to the COVID-19 pandemic.I found the vehicle on the app, and I was linked up with a representative named Rick very quickly and easily. He emphasized multiple times that my needs were more important than him making a sale, so he acted as a trustworthy resource that just wanted me to get the car that made the most sense for me and my budget. He told me that their salespeople are paid based how many units they sell (a flat rate per car) and NOT based on how expensive the car is, so theyre not trying to up-sell the entire time.When I arrived to look at the car, they were able to appraise my old vehicle (an offer that lasted for 7 days), give me a test drive, show me all my financial options, switch over my license plates, and just about everything else except switch over my insurance. It was like a one-stop shop. Everything (even the cost of new license plates) was factored into my total cost, so I only paid my down-payment that day. My representative Rick gave me a call 6 days after my purchase to make sure I was still very happy with my car.I was very impressed with the ease of the process. I will be recommending CarMax to all my friends in the future.

Theyll make you an offer on your car if you want to sell. You may or may not like the offer, but at least youll have a minimum offer. Lots of drunks there too.

I couldnt have been happier with my experience at Carmax. I sold them my 2015 Nissan Altima SE and they offered a fair price. They were very honest and professional throughout the entire process. I plan to purchase my next vehicle through Carmax because of this great experience. Its not often you come across honest professionals when it comes to this business. I am very happy that I came to them when I was looking to sell my current vehicle and buy a new one.
