Eye mart Express is spot on. Our optical technician, David, was excellent. They are not pushy or try to up sell you on every thing. I did not need an eye exam as I had just been to my ophthalmologist 2 weeks earlier and had a script for new glasses. I enjoyed that David went out of his way to show me different frames to look at. He was patient and thorough. Thank you for a pleasant experience.

The staff time and time again at the Grand Rapids location has gone above and beyond to meet our family’s optical needs. We have been impressed and pleased with their repeat business. I’d recommend them to anybody.

They told me they had to order my lenses due to the fact that they were out of them, which okay no problem. They told me 5 business days max to receive them and it has been 2 and a half weeks now and they are still apparently waiting to get them in.

We went over the weekend expecting a busy store and a long wait. We were proved wrong in that the store was busy but the staff ran it very efficiently and were able to multi task between customers. We were greeted promptly and given a no pressure experience. Darren was the gentleman who assisted us and his professionalism and helpfulness was probably the best we have received in the twenty years of glasses and contacts buying between myself and our six kids. My daughter’s glasses were finished and I received a text for pickup in thirty minutes. What I thought would be a necessary errand that would “eat” up our Saturday day—became the easiest and quickest item to check off on our to-do list! I am still astounded how easy it was.

The mike guy told us we might as well buy two glasses because it would “really help with his numbers” that is very unprofessional in my opinion as a customer I really felt pressured and I didn’t like it

Staff is very friendly & helpful. They DO have an in store lab. Basic lenses are done same day. However, if you want anti-glare on your lenses, they are sent out for coating and takes 2 weeks. That is not unusual anywhere. They go out of their way to correct any issues you may have with your glasses. Great deals & prices. Beats paying $300+ for a pair any where else.

Went to the store because they offered 1 hour lenses and I needed new glasses ASAP because mine broke. Clearly that was a mistake. Not only were we clearly not the main focus of the lady helping us (she kept leaving to help others even though there were at least two other associates) but it took until she had quoted us a price and took my measurements and started ringing up the glasses that she told us they didn’t have my lenses in stock and would have to order them.We asked how long since I clearly needed them badly and was given a vague “it could be three days but could also be up to a week, but they want us to quote two weeks”. Because I was in need I went ahead with the order because she kept saying it would most likely be a week. Here we are a week and a half later with no glasses.Called the store Saturday and was on hold for most of the five minute call only for them to tell me they weren’t in yet and they did not have an update; mind you it took two different associates to get that little bit of information.Called again Monday. Was on hold for almost 10 minutes before I hung up and called back only to be told they guy answering was the only one working at the time and he would be with me in a moment. Waited a few more minutes before he took the call and looked into my glasses. First thing he said was that it was strange they weren’t ready yet because it had been 10 days and he wasn’t sure why they weren’t done. He told me he would check with the lab and call me back. Never got that call back.Called again today only for the girl to tell me “your promise day is Friday and it’s a same day service so we’ll text you that day when they come in”. I was kind of put off by her so I asked about getting a refund so I could go elsewhere, and I was told I had to come in and do it. The store is 30-40 mins away from me and we went there in the hopes of the one hour service so it was kind of annoying they couldn’t do anything, but I understood; it just didn’t understand why I had to come in for them to refund my card since many places can do it over the phone.Called the corporate number in hopes of getting more help/insight from them since I’d been getting the run around. The service rep didn’t even ask or seem to care why I wanted to cancel my order just asked if I spoke with the store manager. I told him that none of the associates gave me the option (the girl this morning clearly just wanted me off the phone). So he said “let me try to get him”. After being on hold for about 8 minutes he came back and told me the manager for the store wasn’t in today, he thinks he’ll be in tomorrow (couldn’t even say for sure) and that I needed to call and talk to him before they would look into my case further.At this point I don’t even care about getting the glasses, I’ll order them elsewhere that I feel prioritized (even if it takes another week and a half), I just want to get a refund and be done with this company.

Unbelievable customer service. My husband and I are in our 80s. We both took advantage of the 2pr $79.96, so were advised they couldnt do all four that day. When I sighed, the manager (Vasan) since he lives near us he would bring them to us the next day, and he DID. Two weeks later, I wasnt satisfied with my vision, so I took them back to the store. Vasan adjusted my frames, but still unable to read comfortably. At that point, he offered to make me an entire new pair, at no charge. and deliver them to me AGAIN, and he did! Thank you, Vasan!These days, great customer service is hard to find, but not at Eye Mart Express on 28th St in Grand Rapids, Mi. I will never go anyplace else for eyewear, and I recommend them to everyone.

Pleasant, quick, painless and inexpensive process. Highly recommend.Short wait while my wife picked her frames. Actually found a couple pair she liked among the bargain bin frames (the $19.95 frames). Once settled on frames, process of submitting my wifes scrip and finalizing payment for cutting/installing the correct lenses into the frames she chose was quick and easy. Left store and received a text indicating the glasses were done within no more than about 20-30 minutes. Drove back, tried on frames, received some minor frame adjustments from the rep and some answers to a few questions and e were on our way. Pleasant, quick, painless and inexpensive process. Highly recommend.

Everyone was very friendly and professional. The eye doctor was very attentive to the change in my contact Rx, suggesting I use it trial lenses before he wrote my actual Rx. As for my glasses, they have multiple styles and brands to choose from. Check them out if you need an exam, you wont be disappointed.

Their ads lie. They only carry plastic lenses in stock. They do not keep polycarbonate lenses in stock. So I couldnt get my glasses the same day. I went on down the street to a competitor who does carry the popular polycarbonate lenses in stock and idid get my glasses the same day.

The optometrist was great. I would never ever purchase glasses here again. The prices were high and they had to remake my glasses twice. The second time they didn’t use the appropriate prescription and you can visually see the the marking for positioning on my lenses. Since I was an Optician the poor quality was very apparent to me. The lenses have repeatedly come out of the frame.

Wonderful staff make this eyeglass experience worth it. They are very knowledgeable and understanding. I found a nice pair and got another pair in mind already. Will definitely be back.

I have been a customer here for a couple of years now. My business will continue to be done with this team at Eyemart express. They are consistently the most economical, they listen to my needs and never over sell, and always take care of things in a timely manner. That is reason enough while I will continue to go there and will encourage others to go there as well. This past weekend they had an instance of going above and beyond that I would like to share.When picking up a new lens for my primary set of glasses, I had my secondary set on. While I was placing my order, the general manager, Ko, was busy running around the store making things happen. When he made his second pass, he stopped, and asked to straighten my glasses for me. This stood out to me. I did not request, ask, or complain about my glasses I was wearing. I know this all seems over the top but this is huge in my book. This gentleman went out of his way, to do something small, very small, but none the less it showed me his value of his customers. Kinda rambled, but hey, they are awesome. Go here.

I got the $40 for 2 pairs of glasses. For how cheap they are, the frames were fashionable and thick plastic(durable, not weak) which I was thrilled about. Not only that, but I was unaware that they had their own laboratory in the back, 30 min lenses production. I had both my glasses ready and wearing in just 2 hours. For being used to 2 to 3 days, I was more than happy. Staff was also very professional and kind, and knowledgeable. I would recommend this place to anyone

I inquired about their deal two pair of glasses starting at $38.71. I needed reading glasses for my son and didn’t want to spend a lot of money. There were limited frames to choose from..mainly neutral colored glasses but it was all I needed. From the time I picked out the glasses to actually have them ready the same day it took only an hour of my time. Patricia was great to work with.

Had a great eye exam and very good customer service. They have 1 hr glasses but I got 2 pair of glasses and they had them both done in less than an hour. Very happy.

The doctor was great. But after I waited for 30 mins for anyone to even ask me if I needed help. I was quoted a price verses Americans best. When I brought that up the lady acted like I was wrong on my quart and tried to talk me up on other stuff not happy will never go back regardless of the in store lad didnt help me any I still had to wIt on my glasses

Eyemart Express is a great place to buy glasses for their speedy service with having a technician right there at all times and theyre open later so you do not have to be a morning person to get out there on time. They were super helpful, friendly, and caring in Grand Rapids on 28th street so I will be back.

Staff were exemplary! The prescription was very strong and we were still able to pick up the same day. We got a great back to school rate, so we have a backup pair which is stellar! I like to order off Zenni, but being able to pick up same day is amazing!Update: My daughter left her glasses behind accidentally on a fieldtrip. When I went to get them, the lenses were badly scratched. Went to Eyemart to see what could be done to get them fixed. They took care of the issue expediently and without charge. I cannot say enough about this establishment. I highly recommend them and would give 10 stars if I could!

I needed a quick pair of glasses which will probably be temporary because my eyes are still changing from a recent eye surgery. I walked in Eyemart at noon and they were able to get me an exam and glasses by 530 that day. Got a great exam from Dr. McMurray who understood my situation. Everyone Who helped me was good at their job and motivated. The glasses were hard to get used to at first (a month without glasses) but Patricia was able to get both pair working just right. My first experience with same-day glasses was great!

Got a deal on two frames, went to pick them up and only received one pair. They scratched the frames and lenses on the other pair. Was able to pick up the second pair a few days later. They gave me the scratched pair for free because they wouldnt be able to use the lenses or frames anymore. A year and a half later, all three pairs are broken. I am not hard on my glasses, as Ive had a single pair last me over two years. The last pair that broke only lasted about 6 weeks. They may have affordable glasses here, but youre further ahead going to a different store and paying more money upfront to save money in the long run.

All contact lens perscriptions require a one one week follow up appointment according to the doctor. The office staff, while respectful and committed to quality service, did not know this requirement. Not all vision centers have thus policy. Other eye care services have shorter term. or as needed follow up appointments for new and sessoned contact lens patients. This saves time when scheduling an eye exam and driving to the appoint only to learn you have to go some place else for your contact lens prescription. Fortunately I was able to be serviced at another vision center in the area, so the drive across town was not completely wasted.

Very helpful when choosing glasses however waited 2 weeks and finally went in to see if my glasses were in on my promised by date at 10:30am and was told sorry its still going to be about another hour . Seriously? I ordered glasses from Zenni and got them faster than I received these and paid ALOT less money.

I didnt have an appointment. I walked in at 5pm and $270 later I had a new eye script, a pair of nice well fitting glasses with anti-glare and a pair of prescription sunglasses. (I paid cash)

Ive had such a great experience at Eyemart Express in Kentwood! I walked in first thing on Saturday morning needing to have task glasses for my new job before Monday. I didnt bring my prescription as I thought they would have it on file from my exam, except I didnt have my exam with Eyemart Express (!duh!). The staff called the office where I had my prior exam to get my current prescription. They worked with me to determine the best prescription for the task I needed the glasses for inside my budget. When the tech examined my paper prescription, he discovered a potential error in the original written script. I was then scheduled to see the optometrist (same day) who examined my eyes at no cost to me to determine the right powers/distances/etc. for the lenses to meet my specific needs. They were able to use an old pair of my glasses with the newly created script and got them made in 35 minutes! Super friendly, informative and thorough! Thanks to all who worked with me on 7/16/16!

While I am pleased with the quality of my eye exam, my glasses and the general friendliness of the staff - I ordered a pair of sunglasses and they told me they were ready, I went to pick them up & was informed they’d have to remake them due to a large scratch on my lense. If this happened once, I would understand- however, it happened 4 times. I drove to and from the office 4 times with no glasses and finally got them with no mistakes the 5th time I went in for pickup. I’m not sure what happened in this situation but the lack of communication was incredibly frustrating and felt very unprofessional. The front of house staff was very friendly and helpful in this situation and I appreciate their hard work and attention, but something needs to be done to work on the communication / quality check before a text goes out- even if I was told that the glasses wouldn’t be ready due to a machine being broken or something it would have been better than driving to and from this location 4 times empty-handed after receiving texts that they were ready / even calling to confirm they had no scratches and coming in only to find out that they did. They were worth the wait in the end and like I said, the quality is great and I’m happy with the product itself, I just feel this could have been a smoother process!

Thanks to everyone at this location! Got 2 pairs of driving glasses within 1/2 hour after my prescription was faxd in. I chose the cheap frames and the bill was $39 bucks. No kidding. . . they are wonderful glasses and great people (Darren, Patricia, Bob). My husband got 2 pair of progressives and 1 pair for computer, upgraded frames -- all for less than he was quoted for one pair of progressives at the Big Opthamology company. The visual focus is spot-on since Darren really knows what hes doing. Bob even showed us his lab since we were so impressed that hed done my first pair in literally 8 minutes.

I have worn glasses for 40 years and have never had a more frustrating vision exam than I had with Dr McMurry. He herded me through like cattle, not taking time to learn my history, current vision needs or experiences. He rarely looked me in the eye, listened to me, or explained things to me. The vision machine had apparently not been cleaned from the previous person because he did half the exam with one eye being blurry until he cleaned the lens with a cloth. I asked him to explain a discrepancy to me and his reply was “ you’ll just have to accept the process”. He suggested I have surgery to get an eye lift. Overall, he did not care about me as a person or my vision needs. I would not recommend ANYONE get an eye exam here. They allow 10 minutes total for an initial exam! That’s not sufficient, and combined with his poor customer relationship skills it made for an awful experience.The office manager was willing to take the time to listen to my concerns and answer questions, thankfully.

After going to Eyeglass World and waiting an hour for someone to help me, I gave up and went down the road to find this gem! Friendly, unbelievably fast, and great price! I will never go anywhere else for my glasses!!

Made an appointment on Tuesday Feb 19th for Wed Feb 20th. Got there in the morning and they had no record of the appointment. Got treated rudely about it. Finally squeezed us in. Ordered 2 pairs of glasses. They said they would be ready in 10 days due to the high prescriptio. 45 mins later I recieved a text that they were ready. Went in the next morning to get them, and both pairs were very wrong. Turns out they switched the measurements and put them in the wrong glasses. They say come back tomorrow it will be fixed. Went in the NEXT morning (3rd time) STILL WRONG. The staff was nice in trying to remedy the situation, but failed. Asked for a refund and said they couldnt do it. Told us the manager would call us in the morning. Just called to talk to the manager, and wouldnt you know it.... hes not there. Try again later they said! I just want to he done with them! My mom had the same problem 2 years ago. She gave me the I told you so Eyemart is a sham!

Customer service was ok, but the disappointing thing is there in store lab to get your glasses was not available. Would have like to know that first hand and not at the end when i am ready to purchase the glasses. Waiting 2 weeks for glasses is a bit much when your service advertise, We know your time is valuable thats why we have an in store lab! What a joke!

I was transitioning from using hard lenses to Lasik and needed glasses for 3 months. I hadnt worn glasses in 14 years. Eyemart Express was amazing! They were willing to work with me as my eyes changed. They even let me come back after my Lasik surgery to get my check-ups to make sure my eyes were healing as they were supposed to and sending my results to my Lasik surgeon in Toronto, ON. Make sure you call before scheduling an appointment. Not everything is included in the special pricing. Eye exams are $49.95 on top of frames and lenses. Many types of lenses are not included in the price as well as duel vision. They will try to up sell frames and lenses as well.

My fathers veiwing was on a Friday night, with the funeral being Saturday am. They were booked solid all day Friday. They got me in, between the scheduled appointments, to get an eye exam and glasses within three hours. They are great and I will recommend them to anyone looking for caring, quality customer service. Very sad 😭 still waiting for my glasses day 2 express? Hahaha sad I really liked a certain frame and it was 29.99 so to get that frame would have cost me twice as much as the lame 19.99 frame had to get to get the 2 for 126.00 stupid stupid draw ya know in and suck the money right outta ya!!!!
