Its 2 older men thats very nasty and rude I was in there shopping tonight since they didnt close until 10pm. It was only 8:15pm the older man came in the isle I was in and told me to hurry up because they was about to close and it was only 8:30pm. Im very upset because I wasnt able to get the items I had in my cart, I probably want ever shop here again which is sad cause Im a frequent customer and never have a problem besides when they are working in the store.

I like family dollar, prices are better than the grocery store.

The only reason I even give it a 2 is because the store is generally well stocked and clean. The employees tend to be very rude and their hours are extremely erratic. Luckily, they arent too far down the street, but it is annoying too drive down there when they are supposed to be open, just to find out that theyre closed for some reason

Have you noticed the other comments on these reviews talking about how nasty they are at this location? There is a guy who works here with white hair who is unbelievably rude. I have been a regular at this store because of the great buys however I have had it. Every time I asked how he is or to have a good day I have never ever had one response. I used to think it was because he was homophobic but after reading other comments I have discovered it is his nature. However my most recent visit involved me in the store all alone other than one other customer. I spend 15 minutes walking up and down every aisle and could not find an employee anywhere I stood at the register for another 5 minutes. After 20 minutes I left. This could have been a kleptomaniacs field day

There are reviews that bias based on their one review. This is my first for this location however, it reflects the many times I have done business at this particular store.I am in agreement with Lisa from a couple months ago. Her review reflects similar experiences to that which Ive had. For instance, I started to open an item that was not food related to inspect the item as it seemed there may have been something wrong with it.The lady behind the counter says, You open it, you bought it. I layed it on the counter and said, you can keep it. The other item I purchased she placed in the bag and flipped it up on the counter. The bag was still attached to the other bags on the bag holder. So rather than remove it and hand it to me she let me fumble with it until it unhooked.She needs coaching or retraining. Dear Family Dollar, if it is in the budget and after assessing whether or not it is possible, please have said FD employee enrolled in a, How To Treat Customers Course. Thank you

Very clean and presentable, shelves well stocked!

This store is nice and clean, and well stocked. However, there has been at least FOUR occasions when I drove there, and there was a hand written sign on the door stating, Temporarily Closed. Each time was during daytime/normal business hours, and it seems they are closing for no reason, other than they dont want people in their store. No other dollar store has done this, and Im not sure if they are even allowed to. Wastes customers time driving there!

This store does not check their expiration dates. I bought a stick of jack links beef jerky, thought it tasted weird, and turns out it expired in November of 2019. I learned my lesson about checking before I buy, but 8 months is a long time to not rotate your products. The store also closes at random times that do not follow their hours of operation. I have pulled up at least 3 times to see a hand-written note that they closed at an earlier time (not due to COVID, this was before the virus).

Everytime I go up their it is closed or something is wrong. If you are closed then when you look up your store it should not say open. Just took a 30 minute walk for nothing.

The staff at this Family Dollar store are helpful and kind. The gentleman that helped me tonight knew exactly where the I asked about were located. I went in there for two items but $70 later.....ha ha.The gentleman engaged me at the register. We are both owned by our cats. He shared some valuable tips in regards to traing my cat to pee in the toilet. He was great. I wish i gathered his name.Good prices and well organized and clean store. My only quibble with Family Dollars in general is the opaque lighting. Despite this livable shortcoming I highly endorse the franchise and this particular loxation on Smithville Ave Dayton. Oh

Every single time you call no one ever picks up...i do mean EVER it makes no sense.

This store needs to close already! Their Hours tonight are till 10 and they are closed at 9! Ridiculous! This happens all the time! Why have store hours if your going to close whenever you feel like it!

It was fine but employee was literally watching shows as we were shopping. Very unprofessional, come to find out this employee was a manager named Nicole. The dead look in the managers eyes was alarming, might want to stop hiring bodies and start hiring somebodys.

Im only giving this place a star because it was the lowest it could go. The store itself was ok. Clean, well stocked. But the service was horrible. There was a guy sitting on a chair away from the register playing on his phone. Ignored us as we walked past him, let us go to the wrong register and then we had to walk all the way around to get in line behind two other groups. When I pointed out how rude it was he just said huh. And then got mad and said he never saw us. Never thanked us. Not a word as we walked away.

Im surprised no one has noticed that this store is always temporarily closed. Ive stopped by there on 3 separate occasions recently because its convenient and they have a sign in the door that says they are temporarily closed. Not to mention other times in the past as well. Ill also agree with most about the customer service in that they lack it!!Temporarily closed again! So frustrating!

Ive never been in a FD that literally everything has the price. Ive always either brought it to them for a check, or not bought the item. This place had prices everywhere which was nice! Parking lot was big. The aisles were close together and the man working was friendly.

Compared to other fds its below average. Aisles are not marked so its pretty much a hunting expedition unless you work there. Store layout doesnt match others and is confusing. Not very well stocked either. Also this chain just raised its prices.

Poor customer service, one lady sat in a chair and one just stood behind the register no effort to assist didnt even move when I asked a question but when my bath and body works lotion set off the alarm she jumped up no problem. Spend money elsewhere would not return!

This is my neighborhood store but for some reason they are always closing early. Its a real inconvenience to have to drive other places when we have a store right down the street but they dont stay open the hours they are suppose to!!!!

I had a large purchase for an event. The staff was very patient and kind. They even helped me out the door with everything!

I just visited the store for the first time, this evening. I politely asked employee how to get to the baby section. She rudely pointed straight ahead. Although I did not touch any products in the store, and was only in the store for five minutes. The same woman followed me out of the store like I was a thief . I walked back in the store to ask the associate if she would like to go through my purse, because she thought I stole something. she admitted that she thought I stole something, because had said to my daughter they do not have what we need here. The service was rude and I will never be back, and I will make sure that anyone I know never shop there as well.

Says they open at 8am which would have great needed creamer for hubby coffee so guess what he didnt get lol creamer

Everything is so clean and organized. this store is by the best out of all the family dollars in the area.

Im surprised, with all the horrible reviews, they have not made changes to this store. All of the negative reviews are spot on also. The manager looks like the most miserable person on Earth. Its almost concerning. The other few employees seem like its a burden to do anything besides stand outside and smoke. They constantly open later and close early as well. Ive actually been there before when the milk man was outside and he was pissed they werent open. Im sure its spring his day down too. And dont even take a 50 Dollar bill in there...omg!

Im giving this review one star not because of the store itself or most of the employees, but because of Nicole, a manager Ive had multiple problems with coming to this store. She has been very unprofessional every time Ive come in while she was there and Ive heard her cursing loudly and talking to the other employees like she wasnt on the job. She has been overall rude and unhelpful when Ive asked where things were in the store. Im not asking for a robot employee, nor am I saying she has to be perfect, but she seems like she doesnt care at all if she loses her job or not. She is not fit to be a manager and either needs to find another job or go back and learn basic customer service. I was kicked out of the store and told to never come back even after apologizing and trying to reason with her about a trivial issue when a ball bounced into another aisle. She straight yelled at me and was very unreasonable considering the situation at hand. She was allowed to kick me out, yes, but she handled it awfully and acted as if I was coming in and harassing customers or coming in just to mess around. I was going to purchase items Im the store as well, I wasnt just loitering, but she kicked us out so I never even got to purchase them. I swear she was ready and willing to call the cops. She seems like she just wants to find something to get mad at. We called the store afterwards and she also hung up on us after trying to understand what happened and tried to calmly reason with her and that was the last try from us to figure out what the hell happened. She does not deserve her job, Im truly not sure how she got it in the first place. Ive been here a fair number of times, Im a consumer and a happy one when I get home with the actual products. The only reason why this review is poor is because of the managment. I had an incident with the manager known as Nicole and I was very honest and polite when she was obviously angry with my actions in the store, which would include bouncing a ball and it accidentally going into another isle. Its not screaming good ethics or customer service when she shouts Stop right now! scolding me like a child, as well as, hanging up the phone when I was trying to resolve the issue. I explained my side of the situation and apologized, however, she did not even come close to communicating with me and has a long way to go in learning about customer service. She might be a great manager, which I hope she is, but she might need to change up her approach on handling situations with genuine customers acting like they are not people and just cashpots that make her work and give the store the money they need to break even and/or make their profit. I wish this interaction was better, this is my reasoning for the awful review and will stay as such unless given reason for change.

The customer service is lacking. Younger girl there acts like we are bothering her to have to run the register. One time two employees yelling at each other across the store with customers in the store. Today was the worst. Man was running register at around noon. About 6 people in line. An older women left without her packages.The man yelled in a ride voice that she forgot her packages. Then he rolled his eyes at her as she continued to be nice and returned for packages. Then when it was my turn I paid with my credit card using the chip payment. I pushed the button for no money pack with my finger. He told me I had to use the pen but he used a term for it that I had never heard. When I said what? He said it again in a rude tone. The workers are not friendly most of the time that I am in there

I had to rate 1 star to be able to right this review beware of the rude staff especially GERALD! I was with my daughter came in to purchase a few items as I went to check out GERALD was my cashier he rang my items up for a total of $11.13 I handed him a 50 dollar bill he asked me if I had anything smaller I proceeded to tell him no I am sorry and apologized this is after he had rang my items up with no visible sigh saying the store couldnt accept any large bills so I asked for a manger he told me she was on a break so I said I would wait at this point GERALD became very frustrated he said FINE ILL GIVE YOU WHAT I HAVE He then gave me a roll of quarters for 10 dollars and cash I kindly and very nicely said I will not accept 10 dollars in quarters he had already cashed me out and had my receipt when I told him this so he took my receipt put all the money back in the register and went to get a manger I asked for the receipt or my 50 dollar bill because I had yet to take my items He told me NO VERY LOUD AND RUDE finally the manger comes in with him she was outside smoking I was trying to explain that I didnt take any cash or my items and just wanted this handled she tried to tell me he gave me my change after buying my items then she asked him and he said no he didnt so I could of been out 50 dollars because of someone elses mistake I work very hard for my money I work 2 jobs! I just told her to give me my money back and return the items because she was telling me I had to take what he gave me which I know for a fact she could of handled the cash situation but she was just being rude as she is rescanning my items to give me a refund I asked for a corporate number and wanted there names to file a complaint GERALD decided to get very very loud and ripped his name tag off his shirt while I was trying to pull up my note pad app to take down the information I said Ill just take a picture since he had his badge so close to me in no way was I trying to take a picture of him his face or anything he got violent and reached for my phone and screamed no pictures so I kindly and still nicely said OK I apolig6i wasnt taking a picture of you just your badge but here I will delete it I even showed him my phone while I was deleting it so he could see I didnt take a picture and that it was removed from my phone all while my 11 year old daughter was standing there the manger finally gets my receipts to sign for my refund asked for my signature and address so I signed my name I will day I do have a doctors signature because I sigh a lot of papers she then yelled no absolutely not now I have to see your ID said OK thats fine I filled out rest of receipt and even printed my name next to my signature and she said my ID address wasnt the same address I put on receipt I told her it was because I moved at this point she finally gave me my 50 dollar bill back with no return receipt and told me I couldnt have a copy I am calling corporate complaints will be made and this was ALL ON CAMERA SO THEY CANT SAY IT DIDNT HAPPEN! PLEASE DRIVE UP THE STREET TO DOLLAR GENERAL TRUST ME YOU WILL THANK ME! !

On numerous occasions especially sunday and monday mornings store doesnt open on time. Usually a sign on door with some excuse computers down or this time a lighting issue. This has happened at least 4 or 5 times that i have seen in just a few months. Customer service is also poor. Not a friendly enviroment at all.

This place is awful, the first time i go there they have nothing. So im walking around trying to find paper towels or something and som old guy (works there) starts following me, so i ask him if hes alright, he says do you need help finding something which i replied no (because im a big boy who can find paper towels) so i tell him i can just keep on looking so he says hell be looking with me. A couple minutes pass of him following me and i turn around and say im gonna go so he says il escort you so he follows me to my car and takes a picture of my license plate. I didnt do anything but i guess just because of my age he thinks im gonna steal something and ruins my experience. Also i did not find what i was looking for. Do not go here its too much of a hassle for no selection at waaay too high of a price

Walked in 5 mins before closing. All I needed was toilet paper and toothpaste. The lady with long black hair would not stop talking about how annoying it is when customers come in late and how she hates when they grab more than one thing. When I said o could hear her and that customers spend money there she went off on me. Would never suggest anyone waste money there. So many other dollar stores around. Dont waste your time on rude employees. Not worth it.
