We rented a bike and drove around Haleakala... Kaupo first then drove thru Hana, Paia etc. It was awesome. We had so much fun.

Best time ever on a scooter. I’m a 55 year old women who loves to explore and just needed some me time. These guy were so great. I started at 10am, hit 4 or 5 beaches, Snorkeled ate swam and had a packed lunch. Got back around 4pm. So worth it.

These people are way cool. Very friendly and helpful and gave us some tips on cool beaches to checkout and places to eat. We have rented elsewhere before but this is the only place we will go from now on.

If you want to do what every other visitor to Maui does, go rent a Jeep and get in the long line of Jeeps traveling around the island. If you want to skip ahead of the traffic, have freedom of movement and have an adventure then head here and grab a motorcycle or large scooter and have the boys set you up with sights to see around the island. Hit every single recommendation they spoke of and some others. A motorcycle allows you to stop quickly or turn around super easily if you pass something and wanna turn back around to see. And you will be able to travel MUCH quicker on a bike than in a car. Period. We did the road to hana in reverse, the ring road to the west, and rode up to the crater. A couple things- bring appropriate clothing. We had some light rain coats and pants. We also brought arai helmets from home. Helmets aren’t mandatory in Hawaii but I’d highly recommend either bringing your own or grabbing one from the shack- roads are twisty many Many MAny MANy MANY blind turns. Weather changes quickly too. The helmets we clutch. Our bike was virtually brand new- I think it had around 500 miles and the dudes that work there were super chill. The bike really made the trip for the wife and I.

Carl was great at helping my girlfriend and I learn to ride the mopeds, we were on the road in no time. I would have made carl the best man at my wedding if i didn’t forget his number!

Renting scooters was a blast! It really is the best way to get around the island. I ride a 600cc bike, so I was a little worried about the capability of a 50cc scooter. While not fast, they are lively, extremely easy to ride, and kept pace with Kihei traffic just fine. You can squeeze 40mph out of them, depending on what you had for lunch, and fueling them, no joke, will be the least expensive part of your trip.Our interactions with Maui Scooter Shack were fast, friendly, efficient and informative. Beshar was very pleasant, and the check in/out process was a breeze.The only thing we regret was not booking them for the entire week.🤙

My wife and I have owned a condo in Maui for several years and recently decided to buy a scooter to get around. I called and spoke to other shops and when I connected with the Maui Scooter Shack they were different and truly cared about what we were looking for. When we went into their store, Carl took great care of us and was extremely helpful in outlining the different choices without pushing one over the other. They are very knowledgeable about scooters. At the end of the day we gave them our business because #1 We trusted in them and felt like they would take care of us if anything would happen and #2 They have a good selection of scooters. We got a great scooter but noticed at night that our headlight bulb had burned out, and we had a small crack in our storage case. I came in the next day and Chris the owner was awesome! No questions he just wanted to immediately help. They follow through on their promises and we cant be happier with our decision to buy from the Maui Scooter Shack. Amazing experience at Maui Scooter Shack. The owner was very friendly and accommodating. He walked us through how to use the moped and I felt very comfortable. We had an amazing time driving through Kihei and Waliea on our scooters. The price was fair.

Unfortunately I cant speak to the quality of the scooters or other rentals due to someone extending the time they rented their scooters BUT I can say that the gentleman working (sorry, I forgot your name) went above and beyond what was necessary to help rectify the situation. He did so by calling around to other rental locations and checking if there were any rentals available. In the end he was able to set my wife and I up with a rental car. We ended up having an awesome day driving the Road to Hana and enjoying some amazing food that he recommended as well. Beyond kind! Thank you!

The guy who work with us was very cool, and the bikes are in pretty good shape. Would be better with some bigger bikes but otherwise I have no complaints. I would definitely recommend this place to anybody who is looking to rent a motorcycle or scooter, especially if youre doing it for multiple days. If/When I ever go back to Maui I will definitely be stopping here again.

Dont hesitate to visit and take out a scooter or motorcycle for a day or two or your whole trip. Ive been doing it with them since they started this business - I now call them my Maui family. Make them yours as they are open arms and treating everyone with care and respect and first class customer service.

If you are unlucky enough to have to rent a motorcycle from this place, heres is what you can expect:Carl will quote you one price, and bashar will charge you a higher price.Carl will tell you the bennellis will be ready to ride at pickup. Bashar will give you a bike with 12lbs of air in the front tire (bring a shorty tire gauge), a rusty chain with 3 inches of slack, and a throttle that has what seemed like a quarter turn of free play (bring a throttle buddy). And then give you attitude about questioning him.You arrive at twin falls and the check engine light turns on. You text and get no response. Finally, carl tells you to go onto the rest of Hana hwy with the check engine light on because its probably not an issue. Instead I rode directly back to the shop and Carl agreed to credit me a day and provide another bike because hell do anything to make a customer happy. You drop off the second bike and of course bashar doesnt know what youre talking about and wont provide any credit.these chumps know how to put a sour note on what was otherwise a great vacation. Dont let them ruin yours. But if you have to, check the bike over thoroughly before signing any paperwork. And be sure to use a credit card so that you can let the credit card company deal with this disreputable outfit.

Amazing staff, super friendly and helpful! We had the full day rental on the Pit Bull Mopeds. Would definitely recommend the Pit Bull Mopeds over the scooters. Do not give out your credit card info!! I Went in to see if I could rent a scooter and was told I would have to reserve one for another day. I was required to leave my credit card info 💳 for the reservation. That was on 4/20. On 4/21 I got an alert from the credit card company that they had declined an Uber Eats purchase! Well, it wasn’t me who placed that order! Thanks Amex. For knowing me and my spending patterns as your loyal customer.

Took my scooter here to have the odometer/speedometer cable replaced. Which they did replace, however they forgot to place one of the bolts back in the handle bar that keeps the plastic secure. I came back to have them replace the bolt they forgot to screw back in. They replaced the bolt with now a stripped bolt which I wasnt happy about, therefore I complained. They then told me that they were going to have to charge me for the labor of replacing with another non stripped bolt, to which I replied, this wasnt my fault you forgot to put the bollt back in. The bolt was not stripped before. The man then told me he would fix it but to never come back here again.Seriously... Is this how you treat your customer after you make a mistake.

Amazing place to rent mopeds and larger bikes. We rented 4 standard 49cc scooters that were all brand new in mint shape for $45 /24 hours. This included the helmet and lock. Carl is super friendly, knowledgeable and makes sure you are comfortable with how to ride before you set off on your own. We will definitely rent from this company again!

Riding around was the best part of our trip. The guys at this store are all super friendly, very open to chatting about where to go, in fact our best restaurant and best ride were both suggested by the guys here. I hate cars and sitting in traffic thats not a holiday, but a bike you get to truly experince an island, avoid traffic and park anywhere. We had a two seater 250cc moped that we drove round the entire island including a ride to the top of the crater at 10,000 feet to watch the sunset. If it can handle that the bike will handle anything you plan on doing.This is the only place to rent your bike.

Carl and Braden were great guys to work with. They got me a solid bike for the day, but unfortunately I got into a minor complication with my buddy riding the scooter. Lets just say the scooter took a bit of damage in the process. Fortunately my buddy didnt get hurt too bad just some stitches around the belly and maybe nice vacation scar memory. These guys were very straight up and honest with me. Saved me some money from repairs too. Great honest dudes. Would reccomend anyone to see these guys if youre looking for a scooter.

Braden and Carl were both very nice staff members, they were very helpful, gracious with new riders, and boosted the confidence of the new riders as well. Before I rented from them, I had never been on a moped before, but as soon as Braden taught me how to ride, I rode almost 100 miles in the 24 hours that I had rented it for! The ONLY place to rent the best scooters on Maui. They have EVERYTHING! Not to mention, shave ice! Chris & Sara are the absolute best people on the island. We rent scooters from them every year when we come visit. 7 years strong! It is the highlight of our trip. Its SO FUN! Theres a reason theyre the top scooter rental spot on Maui. Its reasonably priced & always well explained. If youre new, theyll make you feel completely comfortable before letting you take off. I love them & the shack! Cant wait to come back.

Friendly staff, great scooters. No problems with our scooter, and we had it nearly 2 weeks.

Dont know where to start. We literally just stopped by to ask pricing. The guys there were great. They gave each of us a quick lesson and our family of 5 (three teenage sons) was off. We cruised around the south side of the island. We kept the scooters over night which allowed us to have a cool sunset experience. We woke up in the morning and had one final cruise. Such a fun experience. Returning the scooters was easy. Customer service was excellent!!! Honestly, in all our visits to the island this experience tops the charts.

Carl at Maui Scooter Shack was absolutely wonderful during our purchase of a scooter. He explained about the scooter, the rules of the road and helped us make the right decision. No issues, fun way to see the island! Five of us decided to rent scooters near New Years 2011, and reservations were scarce. Bruddah Eds was able to fill our reservations by 11 am, not bad! The scooters were clean, and very new, most had only 300-500 miles on then when we got them. No mechanical issues, the staff was helpful and friendly. We will definitely give them a call next time we are in Maui!

Rented a 50cc moped as I had no motorcycle license. Still gets 30 MPH and is great for beach hopping! Reasonable price as well. Very helpful guy working the desk.

Me and my sister rented scooters from Maui scooter shack for the day and had the best time! Alan was the gentleman who was working at the time and was extremely helpful (as it was my first time riding) I was able to get the hang of it very quickly with the help of his cool, calm and professional instructions. From there we had them all day and had no problems what so ever! Id recommend this place to anyone, next time were back here Ill defiantly be taking them out again! Lots of fun, thank you!

Moped died on the road and after a phone call they were there in 10 minutes to swap it out. Not sure what was wrong because their scooters look pretty sleek and new but I wasnt even mad. Nice guys

These guys are so great. I rented my first scooter from them over 5 years ago. They took the time to make sure I felt safe and comfortable riding before they sent me off. Loved it so much, I ended up buying a scooter instead of a car. They helped me find the perfect one for me and their reasonable repair prices helped me keep it in tip top share. We rented 3 scooters. They were pretty new seeming and drove really well! It was a lot of fun! Alan and Chris were awesome and helped us with everything we needed.

I would Not recommend this company. I also was rented a scooter on November 17TH 2018 that also broke down. The back tire seized up while I was moving at full speed. About 40 mph. Luckily I was able to control it and not crash. He also billed me full price. FOR YOUR SAFETY, DO NOT RENT FROM THIS PLACE.

Im giving you one star, because you rented me a broken machine that I was barely able to get back to your shop. And your policy is to charge full price even though the scooter was broken and ruined our day. I would caution anyone thinking of renting from you that there are better places with higher ethics.BTW - Nobody called, no messages were left, and no refund was made, contrary to your understanding. Not too late though - the bill was $104.

They were so great at getting us comfortable on the scooters before sending us out. And they told us right where to go.... out to the lava fields! Perfect!! Best vacation idea ever.

Absolutely horrible experience!! Rented scooters from here our last stay in Kihei. We had gone there at the end of the day, and could see that the guy that was working wanted to leave. He never introduced himself to us, nor did he even greet us. my girlfriend had never ridden one before. He gave her a quick over tutorial and let her go, when we left she was not comfortable with the scooter and he had just taken off. We took the scooter from the shack and got back to the condo, literally 3 miles, and she burnt the whole back of her leg on the scooter, so we returned them early at 10am. Asked for a bit of a discount considering we never even rode them. Another young guy was working and told us thats to bad, its your fault. We dont work like that, You guys can leave. I would never recommend this place for anyone to rent anything from.

My wife and I reserved two 250cc scooters for 9:30 in the morning. Upon arrival, we were informed that the previous renter had not yet returned the second scooter as scheduled at 8:30 that morning. The staff called the previous renter, but was not able to get in contact with them, so my wife and I decided to get breakfast at the little coffee shop next door while we waited. When we ordered breakfast, we were told that Chris at the Maui Scooter Shack had already covered out breakfast costs. Needless to say, we were both impressed with the customer service.We finished breakfast, but the previous renter had not yet returned. Chris offered to rent us a motorcycle from another scooter shop, but we decided to ride around Kihei for an hour or so two-up on the one scooter that they had. We had a great time riding around Kihei exploring the resorts, and when we returned, the second scooter had been returned! We loaded up our gear and set off for the road to Hana. We had a great time and both scooters ran flawlessly.Since we ended up getting our scooters a little later than planned (through no fault of Maui Scooter Shack), they extended our rental time for free by quite a few hours. Through the whole experience, Chris, Bashar, and Badar took excellent care of us. From buying us breakfast, to extending our rental time for free, to calling a friend on the north shore for a weather report, they exemplified good customer service. We will definitely be renting from them again on our next visit to Maui.

I go here with my family every other year and spend 3 weeks. We have visited Maui Scooter Shop every time to rent scooters and have had nothing but GREAT SERVICE! The entire staff is accommodating and always in the ALOHA mood. If you plan on visiting Maui this is the only place to go.

Just recently purchased a Pit Bull Moped and my transaction process was an awesome experience. First thing I did was I called Maui Scooter Shack and asked a bunch of questions of how the process works since I lived on Oahu. The workers were extremely knowledgeable, respectful, and professional and they pretty much walked me through step by step to make sure that I get my Moped safely. If you plan on purchasing one, the person that I would recommend is ALLEN He was the one that helped me out throughout the entire process, to include taking pictures and videos of tutorials and kept me updated daily to ensure that I wasnt skeptical about my purchase. But overall, awesome A++ experience, If you are looking for a moped to purchase with a smooth sailing experience, Maui Scooter Shack is the place to go, ALLEN is the best point of contact to get the job done.

Not a big fan of this. Renting the mopeds were fun. The people are easy going until something goes wrong. My friends key broke off when he was unlocking his compartment, but he didnt use any extra force. We were not please with the way the employees acted when we negotiated what had to be done. When renting mopeds think of all possibilities that max occur

During my vacation to Maui, my wife and I decided to rent some small 49cc motorcycles and we stopped at this location. My wife never rode a motorcycle before so the gentlemen gave her a quick lesson. She was unable to ride the motorcycle and we were offered a refund after 30 minutes of trying. We were so please that he took the time and understood that my was wouldnt be able to safely take the motorcycle out on the road. I rented a 250cc scooter for a day and had a blast. The return process was quick and painless. Thank you again for such great customer service.

Just ok. There was a guy that was really nice, did not explain all the info though. Wanted us to sign paperwork without showing the scooters. Also, we went out of boundaries and they do not tell you what a charge is or at all. So they double charged us. Pretty crazy when they dont explain anything, other than you can stay on kehi road. Disappointing. Id rent somewhere else next time. Plus, the mirrors didnt not stay put so when you drove they moved all over. Really unsafe! They should fix those and if you rent you wont even know those dont work until you drive it. Again, unsafe! We rented 7 bikes, and one didnt even have the same speed as the other 6, so one was always lagging.However, our kids really enjoyed the bikes, just make sure you check on the safety, and the rules to all of it, and what fees are. A company should not he able to charge you without talking to you first.Check out other places. The guy was in such a hurry to get us out, in my opinion, which is why maybe he didnt cover all the fees and rules and do a proper explanation. These guys said they take these bikes apart and check them, I guess they forget to tighten the mirrors.

Rented a couple scooters one day during our trip to Maui. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable of the area. The scooters were in good working order and we were given a tutorial before using them. It was a lot of fun to cruise around the Kihei/Wailea/Makena area on these.

These guys were completely nice when we got there but when we got back they freaked out over the littlest things, they lied and told us they said things they didnt like we got charged 50$ just for leaving theyre boundary and they never told us they had one. We were threatened and yelled at and charged three hundred dollars for a tiny little buff mark that came completely off and i saw it a few days later and they never even replaced the moped parts! Never would i rent from here again or recommend it to anyone.

Had a lot of fun, moped ran well enough. Bashar provided excellent customer service and gave a good lesson before my first time riding.

Brand new scooters and boy it can scoot. I got mine up to 45 on a slight down hill, they drive smoothly at slow speeds too, I taught my daughter how to ride and she found confidence in herself to now try to drive a car! She recently brcame of driving age! She and I could not stop smiling the whole time. We rented on and off for two weeks each time a clean new bike! We use them each time we come to maui! Also They handle any issues professionally and that I dont need to get into great detail, to Carl, thank you! bro! mahalo!
