Not pleased this time. Many large stones and fibers. I had to screen out the rocks. What a pain. Bought there soil 4 years ago and then it was perfect. 5 star. Dont know why this batch was garbage.

Hands down worst experience! The owner insulted me, and was angry that I paid with a card. I did call ahead and asked if that was ok. He kept saying it was a waste of his time. Barely gave me a scoop worth of soil. I paid twice the amount there with very little to show. Rather buy 20 bags of soil at Lowe’s than deal with him again. Probably would get the same amount.

The staff was so helpful!! Our dirt was delivered on time and dropped exactly where we wanted it. Quality of dirt was excellent.

I went there for dirt not customer service. Got my dirt for a good price and the attendant was very helpful.Additional note: we purchased a few scoops of their mushroom compost and whatever we have planted in it has taken off.

Beware the soil is mixed with coffee grounds and beans. We didnt find out until the dogs started eating it and called Hines to find out why. I would have liked to have been told this upfront so that I could have kept it away from the area the dogs are in. Other than that the people at Hines were nice and helpful. UPDATE: after a few days of rain all the rocks in the soil are showing, Ive picked up buckets of rocks.

The owner was very rude, much like the other reviews state. Proceeded to raise his voice cussing at me when I explained that the lady with whom I spoke with in the office stated they were loading soil which is why I had a hired dump truck show up to the site. When I contacted the office regarding the encounter the young lady apologized for his behavior and stated “she can’t control what he does.” Sadly I’ve waited a couple weeks for them to deliver and decided to hire a truck myself which I paid for without any soil. Will definitely go elsewhere as this is one of the worst customer service experiences to date.L & M on the other hand have been wonderful!

The owner was very rude. We waited in line 30 minutes then we were next. The owner said you need to move over to the side we load our trucks first. Very rude. We were backed in under the loader when he did this. Will not be back. No people skills or service.. order from Claiborne better price good service

These guys have great topsoils and mulches at competitive prices. If youre picking up, like I did, its a convenient, short drive from downtown. Highly recommended!

There is no signage or way-finding to tell you where/what you should do when you arrive. There was only one person, working on a front end loader, so I called the number and was told it was going to take awhile. There are plenty of other places with competitive prices that also provide great customer service and obvious signage.

Best soil in Knoxville

Would have been nice to know before I wasted an hour going to the Maryville pike location according to the web site only to discover that it was no longer there, then made the safari out to the end of riverside drive,$40 scoop of the best top soil looks good however..

We got way too many rocks in our top soil. The lady bagged about the coffee in the top soil but did not mention there were more rocks than coffee.... The scoops are smaller than other places and the price was too high for the poor quality and small about you get. Will not go there again.
