This was a really cool little restaurant. Interesting menu selection and great bakery items. It was really busy so it took awhile to get our feed. Would definitely return!

Absolutely DIVINE food!! I havent had decent Beignets since leaving my down south home over 2 years ago...Uptowne Cafe made me feel like I was back home!! Food was good and the rest of my experience wasnt. We waited for a long time after we finally figured out you have to order online and figured out how to do that! Was very loud and not a lot of inside seating. I think we were there for an hour and a half total.

We came just before some few minutes before the cafe closes at 4pm. However, the staff have managed to accomodate us for our late lunch. The food is great specially their chicken and waffle and pulled pork chicken sandwich. I highly recommend this place. Kudos to the staff for their customer service and warm welcome. I will surely comeback to this place whenever I visit La Crosse!

If they want to make it they better get more options on their menu. No omelets, no toast, no coffee cream and no hashbrowns. $50.00 for 3 people and 2 of them are still hungry. My biscuits and gravy was very spicy and the potatoes were very plain and greasy. They brought me half and half for my coffee and it was chunky. So then they brought me heavy cream and vanilla syrup. Just not good at all.

I didnt actually eat here! The place appeared to be clean, with a very vacant atmosphere. You have to scan a barcode and then read the menu on your phone when you get there. It didnt seem to have a wide selection of food, and the prices seemed high. We left.

This is real food. Absolutely excellent. My Texas Brisket sweet potato hash was perfectly cooked, balanced and portioned. This is a unique restaurant to the area and feels like beloved places I have discovered across the country. They know what they are good at, and do it very well. The menu is not giant, but it does not need to be because the dishes served are made with quality and thought. Their Americano was bright, hot and bold with the fresh bite I look for, followed by a smooth, smoky finish to the last sip. I have zero complaints. My wifes Bacon Panini was very fresh, the bread tasted homemade and her portion was bigger than expected. The country potatoes were crisp and fluffy with the perfect balance of crunchy and creamy.You can also order with your phone at the table, which makes separate payments easy and you dont have to wait for an employee to take your order.If you are looking for the same ol eggs & toast that you can get at any diner, this might not be what youre looking for, but I highly recommend opening up and trying this place out because this is something special. I will definitely be returning more.

Hands down the best breakfast spot in LaCrosse! The beignets were amazing. The sweet potato hash had so much flavor and was full of fresh veggies. But do yourself a favor and get the chicken and waffles! The best chicken I have had in a long time. I opted for the nashville hot and it was perfect! This will be my go to breakfast spot in LaCrosse from now on.

Great food from people who care about their community. Ive never been a fan of grits -- but it turns out Ive just never had GOOD grits. Its one of many highlights on their menu from the Southern Bowl to the cinnamon rolls. They deserve to be commended for their quick and user-friendly switch to online ordering and curbside pickup during the pandemic. While other restaurants rushed to reopen indoor dining, Uptowne Cafe got creative and developed easy-to-use online ordering for curbside pickup. It couldnt have been an easy decision, but it was a good one for the the safety of their employees and customers-- and they deserve support for that! Plus, when you support them, you get some of the best breakfast food in the region. Win-win!

The skillet was good but watery and greasy, possibly because it was in a to go container and sitting for a bit. The coffee was really bad.Cute space and good service.

Outstanding brunch! On a recent visit, I was able to try the chicken waffle, the berries and cream waffle, and the country potatoes. The chicken was juicy and delicious. The waffles were light and flavorful, and the syrup added just the right amount of sweetness. The country potatoes were crispy and seasoned perfectly. The restaurant was busy and cramped, and the employees did their best to keep up with the hectic atmosphere! I could easily imagine a larger location or a second location in the future for this business.

Food is fabulous and the service even better. The only thing that would improve this business is if it was larger so more people could enjoy it. That said...I enjoy the friendly atmosphere which has a coziness to it. They do honor reservations too. Great place!!

Went there this morning with my Dad.. cause he had been there before an recommended it! I had not been here before today but was quite impressed with everything! The service was great! The food was just the right amount and top notch! I had the bacon, egg and cheese breakfast taco... the only thing I would ask they do different on this dish is to add a little bit of the sausage gravy to the taco!! That is just my opinion on how it could be even better than 5 stars!! Thanks for a great breakfast!

The staff is awesome. When there was a delay they promptly let us know and offered options.I find the food unique. Maybe more southern ( not the same old same old) Yet every dish I tried had something just a little different. Perhaps a spice or an herb used or a twist on the preparation that kept every bite intriguing. Even the descriptions on the menus I found tantalizing.I will have to post again to tell you about the baked goods that are to die for.Excellent! Awesome! Aufgezeichnete!

Really weird cafe. Came in to sit down and do some work with a sandwich and coffee. I was on my way to the bathroom, but I was stopped at the door and asked to wait to be seated, which was weird for the atmosphere. It was probably 2/5 full. I was led to a table in the corner.In the meantime, a bunch of other people walked in and sat down wherever. I would’ve expected to order at the counter then sit down like a normal cafe.Food is good though. Lots of options for every eater.

Both the food and service was wonderful. Variety of options for your boiler plate breakfast choices. Efficient service but they didnt make you feel rushed. 10/10 would recommend. Also they serve breakfast until 2. Its a win win.

FINALLY a place where I can go and have healthy vegetarian options that taste good. I love this place so much! They have great breakfast and the employees seem to love their job. I love that the smoothies don’t have juice concentrates or powders. Just nice healthy smoothies. Not to mention I love the hemp protein powder you can add. The Brussels bowl is going to be one of my new favorite lunches. I feel as if the owner and chefs take so much pride in the food they serve. Everything Ive eaten here has been outstanding. Im so glad the North Side finally has a cool place to get great food and drinks.

The food is absolutely amazing. I had the chicken and waffles and nearly cried because it was absolutely perfect. The chicken was juicy and stayed crisp even when exposed to the syrup, the waffle was so light and crisp I can only describe it as eating a cloud. A sweet, buttery, delicious, delicious cloud. The beignets are easily on par with any you can get in the french quarter in New Orleans. Go here. Seriously, pick this restaurant. You wont regret it. The ambiance is relaxed yet upbeat. The music is loud enoigh to hear but quiet enough to easily hold a conversation. Lots of natural sunlight, even in winter. The staff were all incredible, kind, welcoming and attentive without feeling overbearing at any point. And the food is to die for, the beverages are amazing. I genuinely cant wait to go back.

Amazing food with vegan options. Only issue was paying $12 for one slice of rye bread with some hummus, 4 slices of cucumber, and some spinach on it (usually has an egg but they didnt take money off for not ordering that). Smoothies were delicious as were the breakfast potatoes.

The beignets here are delicious. If its your first time trying beignets, definitely dont inhale as you take a bite (even an experienced beignet-eater can occasionally make this mistake if theyre digging in with enthusiasm). Their lemon curd is a great accompaniment and complements the honey as well.Their chai latte was pretty good, although the finish was disorientingly similar to drinking the milk at the end of a bowl of Cinnamon Toast Crunch. Order accordingly.

YES! Eat here! I was looking for breakfast in La Crosse, and have never been here before. There were some nice ladies sitting out front waiting to order (COVID rules), although slightly biased since one of them worked here previously, they all highly recommended going in.I had previously saw this listed on Google with a picture of Beignets. That was enough for me! We tried the overnight oats, French toast, and of course an order of Beignets. Delicious. All of it! Coffee was great too!

Stopped in 9/14 at about 12:15 with one other person. I expected them to be busy at that time, so it would not have been a big deal. There were a couple of spots that looked open in the back, so we assumed it would just be a bit before we could be seated. There was one couple in front of us that already had menus. I do not know if they grabbed them from a table or if they were given to them. We had 2 employees make eye contact more than once, but they never acknowledged us with any type of conversation. Even just an acknowledgement that some one would be along is all we really needed at that point. We waited 5 full minutes, in which time we saw at least 5 different employees come by, go to tables or check someone out. We finally decided to leave. The couple in front of us never did get seated while we were there and we never saw anyone employed there make an attempt to talk to them. We will not go back.

We stopped in for bruch with a large party that included a toddler + baby. The server and staff were extremely helpful and patient with our group. They have great options for brunch and were beyond helpful when it came to picking options for a peanut allergy.

Hands down some of the best bakery items Ive ever had. Their donuts are so good. They also have a full menu and great coffee. My wife also says their cinnamon rolls blow everyone else out of the water.

Love this place. The breakfast tacos, beignets, and biscuits are my favorite items on the menu. This is one of only two restaurants in the region that makes a good salsa. The owner also supports a lot of community betterment efforts, so eating here is supporting the region.

Stopped by for a night in Lacrosse with my wife, on our way to pick up the kids from summer camp in Wisconsin. We ate brunch here and the food and service is top notch. Delicious beignets. We will be eating here again on our next visit.

Best smoothies in town

Delicious and unique! Perfect buttery grits and fluffy waffles. Start off with a plate of beingets and yummy lemon curd!!

Curry dish was not real curry . It was a dish with Curry paste on top. It was good but not Curry as I have ever had . Mac n Cheese was Ok but nothing out of the ordinary. The Waite staff was very helpful and knew what they were doing. We will be giving this place another try in the future.

The Beignets were really good. We got the regular Beignets not the loaded, so I cannot speak to how good those are. The chicken and waffles were also good, but my issue with them is I dont believe I know how to eat them properly. When I would cut them the waffle would get crushed. The BLT was good as well. Complaints were my chair wobbled so much it felt like it would almost fall apart, and the service was not great.

The food is absolutely amazing; delicious and I am blown away by how truly healthy and clean/simple it is. However, I have a big BUT. The last three times I have been there, which have been in the last 3 or 4 months, as well as the first time I went about a year and a half ago, they have messed up at least one order in my party. A big problem is that the wait staff share tables, and Ive noticed most of them are not keen on writing orders down. This clearly causes confusion and frequent mistakes. They do give a discount in this case, but I dont really want a discount in lieu of actually eating my meal with everyone else at the table. This has been a big disappointment for me as I couldnt love the food more, but my experiences have made me not want to go again. There needs to be some changes in training and expectations for the staff, and I say that as someone who used to work in the industry. The staff are friendly but make too many mistakes and I dont want to risk it anymore.

I had the chicken waffles and the beignets. Their waffles are out this world. They are crispy and buttery with soft delicate center. The chicken was juicy and perfectly seasoned with a southern flavor that was not overbearing. The beignets were fluffy and . They were drizzled with syrup and dusted with powdered sugar. The be accompanied by a delicious lemon curd. The service was friendly and the seating was comfortable. I would definitely recommend Uptowne Cafe and Bakery.

Unlike other posts Ive read,our service was fantastic. Food was prepared and served in a timely fashion. It was a great meal, but unfortunately in my opinion way over priced. For my wife and I to eat breakfast it was really close to forty dollars including the tip. That is why I gave it three stars.
