Well this is a conflicted review. Verizon cell service is great but the customer service experience was not great. Sure he wanted to help us out and get us back on Verizon and he tried to push the insurance but the activation fees are total junk fees. Not impressed with how they handle that and very disappointed in the sales guys knowledge of the promotions and how they work make sure you get it all in writing and dont buy the insurance. If the cell service wasnt better than the others where we live, I would not use Verizon. And another thing, the dude forgot to switch over our 2 apple watches. Cant wait to go back and get jerked around for that... Think they will waive those activation fees??? Their screw up and all. We will see how their customer service actually is and if they do the right thing I will let you all know. Not holding my breath though.

Was my third stop today in grossmont area.. Looking for new cell plan. Was turned away at door by two employee.. stating they dont have time for us. Amazingly enough both other stores only had 1 employee working and they made sure to take care of us.. didnt mind a small wait but didnt even get that opportunity here. Its like they didnt want my business it all..

Want the worst experience of your life choose Verizon and choose this under staffed location. Been with Verizon for many years. Their service has really went downhill. Was really over charge on accessories and phone. No paper receipt mailed to me instead. Didn’t realize what I paid until the following day. Sell accessories that are generic. Plugged in and first thing to show was “this accessories not capable with your phone”. Plus wrong size cord sold me. Went in today and sat for an hour with 3 people ahead of me. Never got to exchange my cord that was picked out by my “knowledgeable Verizon rep”. Called Verizon to complain only to sit on hold and get disconnected. So over Verizon. Will be leaving in 24 months!

Spent an hour and a half on the phone to Verizon to return a defective brand new phone. They told me I could go into the store and do it. As they would send me a new one once I did that because there wasnt a phone within a hundred miles. I go into Verizon and they tell me theres a $50 restocking. I said why is there a restocking for a phone thats broken and brand new and cant be reused. And they said that is the policy. I still dont understand why theres a restocking for a phone that theyre not going to restock.Verizon needs to get their act together. Theyve gotten real sloppy.4/8/21 update. Called Verizon today to confirm my return and was told that all the previous info I had gotten was wrong. That I should of been able to get a new phone sent before I returned the defective phone. I will say the new guy was helpful but we still ended up deciding to wait for the return phone to arrive to reduce all the paperwork. But I think the most ironic thing out of it was I come to find out that theyre going to charge me $50 restocking charge also because it is computer driven and that I just have to fight it when I get billed. Also even though my old phone was paid off 3 years ago this was still considered an upgrade and that is where the problem comes in . Thanks for nothing Verizon. I have been a customer for almost 20 years and this is the worst experience Ive ever had. And I did see the reply. We will see ....words are cheap.

Emery is simply the best! I had a horrible experience at the mission Valley location and this was my last try before I decided to drop Verizon because of my horrible experience, Emery was the nicest most helpful and knowledgeable person, he set my worries at ease and explained everything in depth, he was so above and beyond! Because of him I am staying with Verizon, this location always has the best service, not only did Emery make the experience Awesome he made our day! Thank you!

Slow, rude and inefficient. They sell big clunky chargers that last 2 months. Then you get to sit in their store for an other half hour waiting to speak to someone while the employees stand around chatting. I transferred my personal account from Verizon to another provider after 20 plus years. Verizon is highly overrated and I am underwhelmed. I would like to cancel our business account too Say goodbye, Verizon. I see all the complaints and the same response. I am sorry they want to do better and seem unable.

Checked in at 1037 on Tuesday August 3 and was told an hour and 15 minute wait. Ok, I understand. Came back close to that time, and patiently waited. 1 pm comes i asked the store manager Ruben how much longer and hes really rude and overly bullying. I understand no one wants to work, but seriously, Ive been a business account client for 22 years. As a business owner, I value my clients and treat them with respect. Ruben in my view should not be a manager nor in customer service business. Im looking for a better verizon store....not la mesa any longer

An awful experience. The customer service here is way below the average. The lady that worked there not just does not know how to fix problems but will not accept opinion she is wrong. She claimed my phone is not compatible with Verizon. And will not work with Verizon. When I show her my phone it’s working and it’s unlocked she simply said oh how you did it. How funny of you . What make it more funny her manager stood next to us and didn’t even open his mouth to offer help . Don’t even bother yourself to stop by this place. If you really wanna teach a lesson take them out of the business don’t stop here and they will change that attitude. .

Ive been going there for many years, their customer service was excellent. Now, I was very dissapointed at their overall services. I went last week to upgrade my phone, nobody approached me or ask me anything. Today, the wait was short, but nothing to get excited about. I could have spent a good amount of money, but they didnt offer anything. So, good luck and I hope they do better with the next customer. Ive been with Verizon 14 years.

The manager Samantha Eigner might as well be a robot without a brain to think for herself. We went in to help our 83 year old mother who they clearly took advantage of and she was only condescending and rude. As a business owner if this person represented my company I would fire her. Being a leader in management should mean being willing to help people and actually using your brain. Not acting like a monotone bump on a log. I wouldn’t go back into this store again and will also file a complaint for elder abuse. Beware of this store.

I dont like giving bad reviews, but after my most recent experience with Verizons customer service, I feel the need to express my dissatisfaction with this location.I wanted to upgrade my phone and decided to do some research first. On my initial visit, I was helped relatively quickly and had my questions answered, though the associate did press a hard sell at one point. I get it, thats your job.When I actually went to purchase the phone, it was on a Saturday and extremely busy. I knew I was in for a wait, and when I was finally paired with an associate (different than the first), I was rushed through the sale, got no explanation of what deals or bundles Verizon was offering, and quickly shown the door as soon as I had paid for my purchases. My new phone was not activated correctly and I had to return again that evening near closing time to sort it out. The manager very graciously helped me resolve the issue.I returned on Monday with some questions and concerns, was well as to get a receipt for my purchases, as one was not initially provided and I was afraid I might have been misinformed about my purchases or overcharged for something. On this trip I waited a little over an hour before I discovered I had been skipped in line. I finally got what I needed after three trips, and it should have been accomplished in one.The customer service here is spotty at best, the manager being the most helpful and customer-oriented of all the employees I encountered at this store. A frustrating experience overall.

Sales guy told me one price and I got my bill 30 days later and it was completely different. Had to wait online (forever) to get them to adjust it to what we agreed upon. What happened to customer service at this store or Verizon in general? Back in the good old days, they used to actually service the phones they sold, offer free phones every two years and have classes for us less than techno savvy folks, like me. Now all we get is a snooty salesperson (emphasis on salesperson and snooty) trying to make a sale as quick as possible, to move on to the next customer. Ive been a Verizon customer for over 20 years and have seen a definite decline in customer service. In fact, it sucks. I may have to move on to a different, more service friendy Cellular company, if one exists.

I have been coming here for years and the staff had always been very knowledgeable, friendly and professional. Ive had my occasional complaints about Verizon in general, but what phone company is perfect: lets b real. I wonder if all these negative reviews are related to Verizon overall as opposed to the actual service received at this location by staff. Overall I would definitely recommend this location: the staff is great but particularly Jessika and Jessica are my go to people. Thank you for all your help, courtesy and professionalism.

Wait times are pretty atrocious if you dont have a spare hour or more to use here. Considering they receive plenty of clients daily, you would think they would assign more staff members to the floor or hire more staff for the floor.Otherwise from the long waits, service is alright. Just reserve more than an hour and a half in your schedule if its a busy time of day.Experience: Been a member of a Verizon family for 10+ years, and used this location before multiple times.

They provide good service but it seems as if no matter what time of day I go, there is always a huge wait. I would suggest making an appointment and even showing up 10 minutes early for your appointment to check in because any closer to your appointment time, you will still have to wait. I went there to get the Google phone and I was in the store for about an hour and a half.

Also, every time I have come here, there has been a significant wait.Luckily, most phone transactions can be taken care of online. I only come here when I must.UPDATE: Came in to ask if they had any prepaid phones available. I was told that I needed and appointment and would have to wait an hour for them to answer that question. Purchased a new iPhone X, traded in my new one. The person doing it all added the Total Protection Plan without asking or telling me. Rushed me out like I didn’t just spend $1000 in the store. Also wasn’t able to help with me Verizon up rewards device credit. Just told me to call customer service later. All my other questions were answered by: “ support will also help you with that when you call”.His card reader was having problems staying connected to his handheld device, so when I went to pay, he literally watched me put in my PIN number. Hopefully he doesn’t have access to my card number because I don’t trust him not to steal my information at this point. How can you trust an agent when he’s slipping in additional features you didn’t ask for....Also there was only 1 other person in there and I still had to wait for 5-10 minutes to be helped by the same guy that checked me in. Like he wanted to take a break before... not like he was doing anything but talking to the female employee at the front until I walked in. Management must not have the right training or be absent from this store... beware.

IncompetentI was trying to port over one of many of my number to Verizon. I did the paperwork online and was told by Customer service that I can go in any store to grab a sim. Unfortunately, I choose your store. I was greeted right away at the door. I explain why I was there and she happily cut me off 3/4 of my explanations and told me to have a seat. Another kid came up and I explain my situation to him. He left me and got on the phone with Corp. I figured he got all the info and I would be surprise if he do t have my DNA taking that long. He came back and started to ask me personal information. I felt he was running my credit again so I asked wait why you need my SSN again. Sure enough the kid was doing just that. I am totally disgusted that I had explained or tried to to two different individuals and none gave a flying duck. So yes, incompetent is an understatement. So I went home and called support to cancel the entire thing. F-it is what the kids say. I see why kids say that now. Feels nice.

Fast service, clean. Walked out with a new phone, activated, in 10 minutes. I think you need to have done your research and know exactly what you want before you go in; you may be able to buy the same phone for cheaper online and its a bit tough to browse/look things up in the store as people wanting to sell you things are hovering and its awkward. Employees also have to really push accessories and insurance (which are much cheaper from a third party) which is understandable but annoying.

This location only wants to sell phones, accessories and contracts. I needed help with my phone. They put my name on the list for help. I waited for quite a while (but didnt time it). It looked like there were several employees just standing around and doing nothing. They were chatting with each other.Finally I got a young woman who answered some of my questions (although she said she wasnt supposed to) about AOL and some apps. I asked about a training program and was told there wasnt any.A friend told me that they get much better service from Verizons Santee location, so Ill try there. I knew the La Mesa location had a bad reputation, but I thought I could get more help than I received. Lesson learned.

I am surprised to see some of the negative reviews for this store because my experience there was nothing less than not notch. Its true that there is only so much that they are allowed to do, but three employees and the store manager, Stan, went over and above what anyone should expect when dealing with complicated electronics and service plans. For almost 20 years, Ive kept trying to leave Verizon due to some of this tech titans business practices. At times, I have been so angered that Ive actually shopped other carriers. What has kept me with Verizon, however, is its support (tech, customer, and sales) personnel. They just dont get any better. A couple of years ago and because I didnt know any better, I went to a non-corporate (franchisee) Verizon store and got royally shafted. I bought equipment and signed something that I thought was a warranty agreement, but it turned out I had signed myself into a 2-year plan for a tablet and line I never used, but paid an extra $60/month for for over 2 years. Over those years, Verizons (corporate) phone support folks spent hours with me giving me breaks and deals to compensate for a Verizon franchisees actions. I finally made it through that period as a result of the people Verizon hires and trains. Recently, after over an hour on the phone and at the direction of a top-tier Verizon tech support, manager I went to the CORPORATE Verizon store at Grossmont Center in La Mesa, CA. It was a very busy Saturday afternoon, but I had no more than a three minute wait before someone came to help me. I spoke to two different store employees (escalated complexity) before the store manager, Stan, stepped in and helped solve my problem. Its a complicated thing to explain, but Stan and three of his employees spent an unbelievable amount of time with me. Never did I get the impression that they were too busy or didnt care or didnt know what they were doing (they really, really did). The high energy of the Grossmont Center store coupled with the extremely knowledgeable employees there who clearly CARED may have kept me with Verizon when I was ready to leave. Go to a Verizon corporate-owned store if you have a choice and, if you are near La Mesas Grossmont Center, go to that Verizon store. Whatever your needs, they will try their competent best to help you.

One thing for sure I will never come back to this store for anything. I was told by technical services that I needed a sim card and that the fastest way to get it was to go to my nearest store. After a short wait I was helped or the lack of it by an individual whose name started with an E. I was greeted by a stare with no how are you doing or any caring statement. I told him about the need for a sim card and again I get the stare. I asked if he was going to install it and instead of getting the usual stare I get a grunt. Seconds later hes done and believe it or not he starts doing other unrelated work, so I ask is that it and I get a ya. I have been with Verizon for almost 20 years and have had nothing but great service with the phone reps. I learned my lesson to now just wait for everthing to be mailed !!!

Rude staff. I tried to buy a phone. Since I was just coming from the gym, I did not have my ID. I asked if since buying a phone online is proof enough of identity, if I could log in so they could see it was me, and I would be paying with a card with the same name as what is on the account. In the most condescending tone, the representative, Jessica, slowly explained to me what a password is and why people are allowed to log in to make purchases. I dont think she understood me, but that is not an excuse to treat someone like they have brain damage, especially when explaining what a password is to a Cyber Security Engineer.

If I could give negative stars I would. I drove over from Arizona to this store because my Grandma needs a new phone and she lives near here. We arrived with only 1 other person in front of us. There were employees hanging out and joking, no one bothered to help us and instead instructed us to just sit and wait. After a 45 minute wait, we were finally helped by an incompetent man named David Sason. He was unknowledgable, unhelpful and wouldnt let us access the account even though I have done it multiple times prior. He was pushy, impatient, rude and acted like we were idiots throughout the entire process. We walked in knowing exactly what phone we were going to buy and I had my card ready to purchase the new Phone (full retail price) but after dealing with him, I will not be buying from this location, ever. Nor will I let my grandma be swindled by those people. I truly hope that poor excuse for a man is fired. And I will never step foot in the door again. Verizon is a wonderful service but dont let this location waste your time.

Gave out loyalty card phone number if there was a dispute in the Billing .I Called the AT & T number for the Loyalty department and was told their is not a Loyalty Department..Instead it was the Collection Department .What a series of phone calls and conversations..when you end service with AT& T. I walked in and someone named KANIELA greeted me at the door. His name tag indicated that he was the manager I told him that I had gotten a new phone and I needed help activating my sim card and  transferring the information because a help representative on the phone told me that I could do that with a walk in. His response was sorry we dont do that in store he wouldnt even answer additional questions. So I called my brother, the account holder because he knows more about these things. I wanted to double check that they do these things in store. Then I kindly asked him to speak with my brother on the phone, he very rudely told my brother that they dont do these things in store and handed the phone back and my brother was not finished talking to him. Kaniela did not respect me nor respected my time driving to the store. He stepped away from our conversation to check in other people and he left me with my talking brother on the phone. So I left without being helped in anyway. I love Verizon but I am so disappointed about how unhelpful the manager was. Very disappointing!!

DO NOT Sign up for Verizon. First the company is built to gauge you out of every single penny you have. The staff and management is train to Sell you like a car sales man. You need a case that cost 2-5 dollars online? That will be $35, Need a car charger? thats another 20$. Do you need to support a company who has agreed to turn over your DATA, VOICE and TEXT to the N.S.A because you might be a suspected terrorist? No. Let me tell you by Selling Verizon to customers. YOU ARE GETTING Shafted,Screwed. Want a nice Android phone? Great buy one.... Only to find out they will ad Bloatware and laggy garbage to it. Wait so that does not matter right? what about Security patches to make sure no one get malware on your phone right? Verizon will wait for MONTHS and MONTHS just to patch updates and you might get lucky to ever get full OS updates. Why does that matter again? TO KEEP YOUR PHONE SECURE and not OBSOLETE so they can sell you a new one. Just trust me STAY AWAY.

Depends which Verizon store you go to the one in El Cajon on Magnolia its not the one to go to trust me go to the one in Santee at the trolley Center people working there much more knowledgeable and much better to help you and whatever you need I have a Verizon phone and Im not opposed to Verizon per say its just you have to pick and choose which store to go to

This was posted by a friend after I posted mine.......This store and the manager ROB is the most rude, crude, and petty person I have ever tried to reason with...it all about what they can get now. We waited to cancel our service after our contract would expire, and we called to cancel exactly when we were supposed to according to the contract, and they still charged us a $350 cancellation fee, that we will never pay and NEVER EVER GO BACK TO, OR RECOMMEND VERIZON. We have never been more happy than with our Virgin Mobile service.

I have been a Verizon customer for more than 10 years. This weekend the last day of the month we do in to upgrade my husbands phone. He decided on the pixel2. The sales person was friendly at first but after I had made a comment about being out in about he turned it against me. I asked where the phone cases were and he directed me. Asking me what I have today and showed him my apple battery case. He said u did t buy it here I said yes I did he then asked another employee if they sold it. The other associate said I don’t think so. I again said yes I for sure did buy it at that store he then said well you have been out running around soo... I told him are you serious I bought my case here. He then said well I have only been here for 5 months. I then asked myself and him why are you arguing with me about this. What happened to a customer is right? I have worked in retail for 11 years. I would never have argued with a customer as he did. We should have walked out. Instead he continued to try to upsell us and add more products telling us he can discount pretty much anything so he can make his number. So my husband gets his phone and surprise surprise the sales person is on to the next customer and my husbands phone isbt set up. That would have been nice to know tht verizon doesn’t set up phone. They want u to do it at the convenience of your own home. I’m sorry why are there stores open if I can just upgrade or buy online?? This has been the worst experience yet with Verizon and especially this location. Train your people to be customer service oriented!!!

Im so frustrated with verizon and the person at this store who helped us.First of all the guy who helped: I went in with a few questions which he answered and he helped enable one new service that I needed. Then 12 hours later I get a confirmation of a second service that he turned on that I have no wish for or need for and he never even mentioned (verizon cloud) And now I have to go through the hassle of getting that removed from my account.Secondly my family has been loyal verizon customers since the 90s in a lot of ways its the best provider, great coverage and due to how long we have been customers weve locked in some pretty good plans to cut down how over priced they are. But they dont seem to want to keep their loyal customers very badly offering no incentives to stay with them like they used to. Ive realized that it will be much more cost effective to switch between providers every two years otherwise you are going to pay a LOT more for new phones. I miss the old days of a phone upgrade every two years. TTFN Verizon. See you in two years when you will be excited for my business again.

If you want a contract with Verizon, I recommend you do not choose this store, if you do not want to be ripped off or did you lie to sell a service. I had four years with att and never had problems, but I had the misfortune to go to this shop and hire two lines Mr. Alivong (Manager) he lied me to sell services, besides having equipment problems, has a poorly trained staff who can neither activate a line, if you choose an iPhone I wish you luck.They promise no charge for activation line, when arrive the bill you have a surprise.Will lie to your face to make a better sale

Worst. Verizon. Store. Ever. I want to start off by saying that Ive done many Google reviews. Generally, I give 4 or 5 stars. Ive only given a one-star review one other time and that was to an attorney. Ive been a Verizon customer since 1999. I remain a customer because I usually get good service. This store in La Mesa is the closest Verizon store to the home I moved into 9 months ago. 3 times Ive gone there just to try & get a small problem taken care of. Each time, I get the same attitude from the employees, apathy & then patronizing sarcasm. The other times Ive just let it go, but not today. About an hour ago I went into this store to try to get a charger exchanged that I had purchased 32 days ago. The charger was for a Samsung phone I used to have that recently failed. 6 days ago, I purchased a new Motorola phone from the Verizon store in Chula Vista but the charging portal is different on a Motorola than a Samsung. Evidently there is a 30 day policy on exchanges of charging equipment. I know that Ive had to exchange other equipment that I bought after the 30-day window and never had a problem. The manager that I dealt with, Frank Kuhlmey had a smart-alec, sarcastic attidude from the start. It was clear from his demeanor that he was he was looking for a reason to say No & thats what he said. it didnt matter to him that the charger I was trying to exchange was still in the box as new or that it was totally worthless to me now. Mr. Kuhlmeys business card lists Solutions Manager as his title. Thats an inaccurate description from my experience. In my case he was Director of Excuses & Patronizing Remarks. I ended up driving 30 miles out of my way to the Verizon store in Chula Vista & my problem was professionally and politely solved. Its too bad Verizon La Mesa cant seem to staff its store with competent employees.

I would like to give a big thank you to MJ Nugent a solutions specialist at the Grossmont Lemesa store. When no one else would help me, MJ didnt disappoint. Ive been with Verizon for a few years and my luck hasnt been so good. Just recently my phone charger wasnt working. It kindof fell off my night stand and dangled and the phone wouldnt charge. I went to the Mission Valley store where I had purchased the phone less than a year ago with James Ward. He had a lot of patience but I really didnt need a new phone at that point either. There was an update made on the phone and suddenly it wouldnt stop ringing. So of course I had to get another phone...I really think its a set up bc that phone was only a year old as well. Getting back to how helpful MJ was...I went to Grossmont to go to the only macys around and I walked in with the new google phone MV insisted I needed that my phone and charger were broken. LIE. MJ plugged my old phone in and it worked. He also was checking out the google phone MV insisted needed and it wasnt loading or working properly. I have a moto android and I really was so frustrated and I didnt want a new phone. Well, he couldnt get the new one to work and try to return it but for some reason he was unable to. He wrote in notes the phone was dead on arrival. So, the next day I went back to MV where they said nothing was wrong with the new phone. I returned it and all the accessories as well. They told me there would be a restocking fee of $35 but it looks like they went ahead and credited it. Anyway, Verizons new policy of not helping the customer with their phone is the worst customer service action they could have taken. They say once they sell it, it the person who now owns it responsibility to get it working. At first when I walked into the le Mesa store the girl pointed to the tech app to show me where I could get assistance. I walked back in bc the screen was moving all over the place and I said can you please show me how to fix that and she touched it and fixed it. Look it, I didnt need the phone to begin with, Im done going to the Verizon store where their commission is more important than the customer needs so I just wanted to say Im thankful for people like MJ who will still go out of their way to help the customer even if it might risk there own job policies.THANK YOU MJ FOR YOUR EXECELLENT CUSTOMER SERIVCE. PLEASE DONT CHANGE!!

DO NOT GO HERE. I just went in to trouble shoot my phone. The display went blank. The lady in there did a factory reset WITHOUT TELLING ME! Adios baby pictures, documents and all my apps. At least I could have texted from my computer or took calls on my blue tooth but nothing! I use my phone for business and she totally screwed me.

I wish I was able to say something positive, but the workers here are beyond rude, they didnt let me finish talking, they not only disrespected me, but also my mother. My mother and I were both constantly being spoken to as if neither one of us could comprehend English. The worst part of it all was that my problem never got fixed.
