Love love love this bookstore! The new location offers room after room of various genres of clean and well organized books, with something to please all ages. There is also a great selection of gifts for book lovers and a fabulous kids area. If you love books this is a great place to go in the Lafayette area. This is my favorite used book store. I buy all of my books (new and used) here, because the shop owners are such lovely people and because its better to support local businesses than big box stores and huge online stores. Every time I have visited the store, I have had a lovely conversation with at least one of the employees about the books Im thinking about getting next. Theyve recommended some really great reads! I highly recommend visiting

Im so excited to finally visit! I found this bookstore on Tiktok, and was deeply impressed. The selection was AMAZING. They have a frequent shopper program with is amazing because I will be back. I found so many books this time, Im sure I will find even more in the future.

Its bigger than it looks. Parking lot out back and well stocked shelves with a broad selection. Its worth a stop. If you are looking for table top RPGs you wont find much but there is plenty of everything else, not just romance novels.

Despite having lived in the greater Lafayette area for mostly continuously from the age of five to 18, as well as a number of years as an adult, I’ve never even heard of this store, much to my regret and chagrin (although I did live virtually all those years just west of the westernmost edge of West Lafayette, so that probably explains it). I only happened upon it by chance as I was walking to the BMV (side note: avoid the west side BMV unless you want to wait in line outside in the sun for what seems like a eternity) but thanks to providence or mashallah of whatever your personal beliefs, I decided to make a quick stop in just to check it out (but I mean, who am I kidding, there’s no such thing as a quick stop in a bookstore at least in my case). I’ve been to much bigger used book stores but the quality of the selection (which is obviously a matter of personal taste but anyway) completely blew me away. In the speculative fiction section in particular, my preferred genre, practically every book I saw I would put on my short list for favorite book I’ve ever read. Like all the best books by truly genius authors. Of course that meant that I had already read a lot of that section, but that’s probably for the best since I still haven’t finished unpacking my books from not even my most recent move, but the move before that. I did pick up a few of nonfiction books, a couple on how to landscape your yard to attract the most birds (theoretically a gift but the kind that you give fully intending to borrow indefinitely) and one on the subject of Lagom (Swedish for moderation, or “not too little, not too much”, a key component of the Swedish outlook on life and also theoretical gift of the above variety). I literally had to force myself to leave before I emptied my bank account, although that would have taken quite a bit of work given the amazing prices (especially in light of the like-new quality of many of the books). It is a bit cramped, which is practically a requirement for a bookstore but not great for social distancing, but word is they’re moving locations (no idea where to) so keep that in mind and keep an eye out for it once it completes its third flight. I can’t recommend this place strongly enough. Just go there.

I swear this this is actually the TARDIS converted into a bookstore or some other magical nonsense, because it does not look like it should fit so many rooms full of well priced books from the outside. The owner is super friendly and passionate too. Love it here!

We love this shop - whether browsing for something new to read, picking up a great and unique treasure, or having a specific book ordered - wed be lost without Second Flight Books and so appreciate having a physical store to roam and speak with other book lovers. I love shopping online at second flight books and each time, I’ve had the best experience. They have an amazing selection with very affordable pricing. The orders are packaged with care with handwritten thank you notes. I would definitely recommend as they also ship all over the US.

Mask mandate in place. Didnt even get to go inside. Visit was last month after mask mandates were lifted. Looked like a really neat place to go to though.

Second flight is my favorite place to go for used books. The system the owner uses is great and she can always locate items for me in a flash. To me this is important when looking for a used book.

Have ordered books online twice from this store and it has been an awesome experience both times! They used sustainable packaging and it came super quick. Definitely felt happier about ordering from here than I did Amazon and the price was actually better.

Please I begging you go to this book store if you want books. They have all kinds of book at better prices the Barnes n noble. My wife is a huge book worm and she gets excited to go to this place every time. You can get a decent stack of books of you favorite authors and you will not be disappointed. The staff there are amazing and friendly. I follow their tiktok. The only other thing I have to say is the kid section is great my daughter founds books that she loves. First time visiting Second Flight Books. Went on independent bookstore day to join in their celebration. Brought the kids to do the drawing contest and they had a blast. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We will absolutely be visiting again!

They were supposed to call me about obtaining workbooks for my son on reading comprehension. I didn’t receive a phone call or email on it. It seemed like they were not very interested in helping me when I inquired about it. But they said they would help find the material.

Popped in after I saw them on social media, and I was blown away! They are super cute and it is full of not just books, but also games, puzzles, mugs, bookmarks, journals, you name it! They offer local authors and vendors and I will def be going back!

I love going to bookstores and I have been to many all over the state and this is probably the best bookstore in Indiana. It is definitely the best in the area. It is also one of the best Ive been to on my many trips around the US, especially for its size. They have the perfect mix of new, bargain new, and used books. Anything worth reading now, theyve got it. They also have a great selection of non-book items, like stationary, journals, totes, puzzles, some plushies, and stickers.The old location on Market Square was great but the Scott Street location is even better.If you like to read, you have to go here.Need help choosing what to read next? They are very helpful in finding books. The staff is friendly. The stock of used books is about as extensive as you can expect in town, and they have a very good selection of new books. They will be moving to a larger location in a month or so (as of 8/2020), so selection might be a little limited until October, but they are still able to do special orders. The new location will also allow more special events.

Such an amazing store! I was expecting a small used bookstore, but the store was double the size we expected. I do wish the children’s section was a little larger, but quality over quantity is definitely what this store was going for. We bought three like new board books for around $10! Its a great little bookstore. I only wish it were closer. Its on the North End and I live on the south side. They take used books for credit towards your purchase. Not many book stores do that any more.

I love this bookstore! It has an excellent selection of new and used books, bookish art from local artists, and bookish goods from places like Out of Print! The owners and clerks are friendly and knowledgeable. The events are great! They are well-attended, but never too crowded for the space and usually introduce you to great local authors and other small business owners. I highly recommend making this a stop on your trip through Lafayette on a visit or a regular haunt if you live close by!

Second Flight Books is everything I could ever want in a bookstore, I went in with high hopes and I was not disappointed. They have a great used book selection in every genre you could want and they also have new releases. I bought three book that have been on my TBR, I got a great deal and I was able to support a local small business. Would recommend to anyone looking for a great used book store with amazing selection and very helpful staff.

Went with a large group of students. Despite having mixed up the days the staff was overly helpful and patient. They were also very knowledgable and were able to make recommendations. Each student left with at least 1 book, many left with 4-5. They all were on a budget but loved that they could actually shop and get many of the books they wanted since the books are so inexpensive. Enjoyed our visit but did not browse the adult sections so Im biased by the students impressions.

They have a lot of books to choose from. There are so many that its hard to pick. The prices are very reasonable. They also have many $1 books. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

I visited this shop while on a road trip, and was quite impressed with the selection, and with the friendly and helpful staff. The store doesnt look that large, but it is, as they say, bigger on the inside. If youre in the area, set aside a bit of time for a visit and a good long browse.
