Special thanks to Annette for making my first BMW experience a great one. She made the process of acquiring my somewhat rare, nearly immaculate 535i xDrive M Sport a smooth one. She gave me a great walkthrough of the vehicle and showed me how to use many features, that I didnt even know the vehicle had. I live out of town from the dealer and she worked with my schedule. Great service! Repairs are usually completed in one work day with a complimentary shuttle to work. Staff are knowledgeable and courteous, and seem more interested in customer satisfaction than making a quick buck. Would buy a BMW again!
Exceptional place to purchase a BMW (and other cars)! I just purchased my 3rd BMW and had another wonderful experience. While I live in Indianapolis and have 2 BMW dealerships locally, I have learned to only go up and purchase from BMW of Lafayette! They offer more competitive pricing, exceptional service and quality care. The Sales Representative (Ben M.) is incredibly helpful, accommodating and knowledgeable. He even drove the BMW down for me to test drive for a week, and then drove down to finalize the purchase. I never even had to drive up to Lafayette at all and still received a much better deal than the local BMW dealership (where I mistakenly purchased my 1st BMW). Also, they will drive a loaner car down, pick up my car, take it up for an oil change or any service, and then return it to me. Wow, now that is service! The bottom line: this is the only place to lease or purchase a BMW... or any other line of cars that they sell !!!

I recently purchased my first BMW last week from another used car dealership. I was having some trouble with a tire and just wanted to have BMW-certified technicians look over my new purchase. When I called to schedule my appointment, I spoke with Nolan. He was so kind and enthusiastic to help me. He almost seemed excited to get the chance to look at my new car. I was really impressed with his attitude and helpfulness. When I arrived, Nolan greeted me in the garage and took great care of me. He actively listened to my concerns and explained things to me in great detail. He walked me to the waiting area and came back every so often to check on me and provide updates on the repair. When the service was completed, Nolan walked me to my car. You’ll pay more for service since it’s a dealership, but I’m happy to do so knowing that caring and concerned people work there. I was just really impressed with my experience and kudos to Nolan for being an awesome customer service rep! I’ll be back for all of my scheduled maintenance!
Roger Salazar provided my family outstanding service at BMW of Lafayette. If I could give him 10 stars I would! From our first time meeting him he instantly made us feel like family. He went above and beyond to help my husband and I get exactly what we wanted for our first BMW. He went so far as to bring me a vehicle to test drive to the school I work at, that happens to be 45 min from Lafayette! We were so happy working with Roger for our first BMW purchase that we went with him a second time and purchased a BMW for our daughter! He worked diligently to find a car for her that was in perfect condition and in our price range. Everyone at BMW in Lafayette goes the extra mile to make us feel like family. Roger has become a great friend to us and we will continue to go back to him for future purchases.
Not enough stars for Roger Salazar. Im in Cleveland, and our local dealers couldnt fine a car I was happy with in my budget. Roger had more car than I wanted, and made it work in my budget. Paperwork was effortless, the car delivered to me and my old car exchanged. What could have been complicated was made easy by Rogers patience and professionalism.
Dishonest!!! Website and cars.com stated that they had a new car. It was DRIVEN and USED but a loophole in auto industry THEY CAN CALL A CAR WITH 1500 on it NEW. If these guys can even be honest with ads how can they be trusted! Sad that locals are being misled and taken for a ride.Reply: Transparent??? You dont know the definition. You should be advertising it as a new demo and miles on it instead of new!!! Sad that you are willing to say anything do anyting to sell. The people of Lafayette area should be weary of your business practice!

I traveled from about 3 hours away to purchase a bmw from defouw. I worked with Annette. the process was very transparent - pricing and any associated fees (which were minimal) were clearly discussed ahead of time. there were no surprises or sales gimmicks when I eventually purchased the vehicle. they were professional, helpful, and swift. they even offered to drive the vehicle to my home for no additional fee - I didnt take them up on it, but probably should have.
I never expected a BMW dealership to lie about their inventory on line.Two days ago, I went on their website and selected 2 reasonably priced BMW cars. I clicked on the link that sent my phone number and email to them. They reply back, asking me to come in, to test drive etc. I reached there today, driving for more than 2 hours from Chicago. On my way down, I called the representative - Craig- who had contacted me. He said come on over, Matt will take care of you.I reached there, a third sales person takes me to test drive. But the cars I had selected are not on the lot. They say one “sold” last night and the other is on the way- being “shipped” from wherever!This is a very common ploy of the mid level dealerships. They advertise a stunning deal on the website, but the car never existed!Never expected BMW to do that
I had a great experience working with Roger Salazar on purchasing a CPO X3. I was recovering from hip surgery and Roger was very accommodating in working with us on the phone until we could travel from Indy to Lafayette. I felt like I received a very fair deal with a low hassle factor, and Roger is extremely knowledgeable about BMW’s.

After my third call to BMW dealerships this one was able to not actually disappoint. They were able to help me find my part and actually give me the part number. They were also the best price from the other dealerships in the area. I would like to thank Carl from parts for giving me my information and treating me like a decent customer. After using that part number to look around I might actually get it from this dealership if they are able to ship it to me or if I have to pick it up.
Our BMW was due for its 3 year brake fluid and engine oil service, a pretty important service inspection. We called the service department, and the manager told us that he was with a client and would call us back, but no call ever came. However this didnt just happen once. The same thing happened two days in a row, after calling multiple times. Some times we got transferred to service, but nobody picked up. Other than the service staff, most of the employees are nice, and very polite.

This is my first time owning a BMW and the experience was very smooth and hassle free. I visited another BMW dealership in a nearby state and felt they did not want to earn my business. Ive been buying cars for 40 years, and my recent purchase of a BMW from BMW of Lafayette was the single most positive car-buying experience I have ever had. The entire transaction was conducted (at my request) by email - the first time I spoke to the salesperson was when he was going over the features of my new car as I was getting ready to drive away! We easily arrived at a mutually acceptable price for my trade in. Jose was professional, transparent, and easy to deal with. The finance manager was cordial and not pushy on add-ons like warranties or tire protection. All in all, I couldnt ask for a better experience, and would highly recommend.
My vehicle was fixed and drove good after serviced. Gentleman I dropped it off was not there when I went to pick it up and the other service advisor was not very helpful he wanted me to wait an hour for the other service advisor come back from lunch

I live and work a considerable distance from the dealership, and he makes it seem like we are just down the street from each other.Carl and Jake in the parts department are awesome to work with when it comes to accessories and any necessary maintenance fluids/parts.I have not needed much in the way of service, but I have had a few questions. Just wanted to say a big thank you to Steven Wetli and BMW of Lafayette. As a business owner myself, I value businesses that give exceptional customer service. My recent experience at the dealership once again proved I was in a business culture that put the customer first.Unfortunately, I had a water pump issue that caused my car to overheat late on a Friday afternoon. I was able to get in touch with the dealership just before closing. I asked about the possibility of having someone look at my car on Saturday morning. Although there wasn’t any appointments available, I was instructed to bring the car in as early as possible in case there was a cancellation. Once there, Steven was very accommodating despite the fact that I didn’t have an appointment. He took time to listen to what was happening to my car and set it up to be looked at first thing on Monday. Since this repair was unexpected and over the weekend, I asked about the possibility of a demo to drive. Understand, that although my 335i is well cared for, it is 8 years old, so I didn’t expect to have this option available. Once again, Steven stepped up to provide me with a demo that allowed me to have transportation over the weekend. He also got me set up to have the shuttle service take me to work on Monday morning. This proved seamless and allowed me to get to work timely and not disrupt my day or my patients day.Again, thank you to Steven and the rest of the team at BMW of Lafayette. It is refreshing to see a business that allows its employees to put the customer first. This “customer first” culture provided exceptional service at every aspect of my experience. Thanks again.
I dont even know where to begin. This Dealership is such a breath of fresh air compared to the rest of what Indiana has to offer. Coming from Bloomington, I will happily drive the extra hour to come here! I normally work with Carl in parts and I just feel so cared for by his parts department. Not often can I say that I look forward to buying OEM BMW parts. And just recently, I had some warranty work done and Steve made it all a breeze. He made sure I was comfortable and kept me in the loop while I waited. It was very 1 on 1. I love the service. I love the small town, laid back feel. This is the BMW dealership Indiana deserves. Other dealers should take note. I will likely never buy a brand new BMW, but if I were to, It would certainly come from DeFouw!

The service department do not care about your Money! My bmw was under 4 years service warranty and asked for performing the maintenance service that covered by the warranty. However, they didn’t care during the covered time, and later resulted in an extra cost to me.
My service experience was truly exceptional. I am from Chicago but was south of Lafayette on business. I had a problem late in the day and the Service Advisor Bobby Dugan was incredible! He stayed late. He called me every now and then to make sure the car was still able to be driven (I was running on a run flat tire that was flat). He made sure I had a car to return to Chicago with after the car rental place (who will go unnamed) threw him a curve and backed out of staying late after they had committed to do so. He responded by finding another solution within a very short time period and didnt even bother me while I was driving with this situation. He just took the initiative to find a new solution. All in all the service was exceptional and Bobby was exceptional. Highly recommend this dealership.
Amazingly, horrible customer service after the sale. Please, take a good florescent light with you to check your paint. Beware of the potholes that surround this place; Its a minefield that eats nice, new cars.There are simply better options no matter where you live.

My wife and I recently had a great experience working with Ben Mullikan to buy a preowned BMW X3 and I would emphatically recommend dealing with Defouw BMW and Ben for a down-to-earth, low pressure, and overall very positive car buying experience.My wife was in a car accident that resulted in the total loss of her previous car, so we were on the hunt for a worthwhile replacement for a few weeks. We had some pretty lousy experiences with other dealers and were generally pretty sour about the whole thing by the time we made the (roughly one hour) trip to test drive the car we ultimately bought.The experience was great from the beginning: Ben greeted us when we drove up and started to show us all the features of the car. He was super knowledgeable about all the features, demonstrated several of the coolest tech and safety functions, and then we went for a test drive. Ben was, by far, the most professional salesperson we dealt with over the course of our search.The dealership itself did an excellent job with the car and the transaction as well. The car was immaculate when we arrived to look at it - freshly washed and detailed, etc. It honestly looked almost brand new.The transaction was very smooth as well - I was in and out of the finance office with Dan in about half an hour. No high pressure nonsense, no guilt trips about warranties... it was a pleasant surprise and couldnt have gone more smoothly.Overall Defouw BMW gets five stars and I will definitely call Ben next time Im in the market for a car.
I worked with Ben at DeFouw BMW and he was very easy to work with and helped me get the car I wanted. Even though there are other dealers closer to my house it was worth the trip Lafayette to get my new car!
I did not even want to give them a one star. This is the most dishonest business I have come across. I paid to get my oil changed. After the oil change, my car indicated that the oil needed to be changed. When I went to them, they said that they forgot to reset it on the system. It turns out they had never changed the oil and had charged us. When my husband changed the oil in the next round, he was shocked to see the color of the oil. These people think they can trick people by telling them they did a service and there is no way for people to know the service is done until and unless they check it themselves or have someone else check it. BEWARE!! Please do not take their word for any service they do and have it checked again! This is not the first time either. Last time, they charged us $100 just to change the front brake light bulb and then told me they did not change it because my husband told them not to. When I checked with my husband, he said had had paid them $100 and asked them to change. They are the biggest crooks I have come across and I will take my car to Indianapolis or even Chicago but will never EVER go there again!

This is the worst bmw dealer I ever deal with. Staffs are unhelpful, lack of basic knowledge. Mistakenly reset my brake pads and fluid service interval without any service performed. Stay away, another dealer may take you 1 hour drive, but definitely worth your drive.

We have purchased, leased, and traded vehicles from Matt Martin and Ben Mulllikin at DeFouw over the last 10+ years. They have helped us find cars for our children, for a parent, for our business, along with a few family vehicles. This makes little sense in the abstract because DeFouw is not the closest BMW dealership to us (they are in Lafayette, we are in Indianapolis), and because we have never been particularly brand loyal and certainly not dealership loyal. We have grown to count on DeFouw and they have never broken that trust. In the world of car buying, which can seem both hyper-technical and just generally confusing, it is hard to tell one dealer from the next. Everyone will match prices these days. Thank the Lord. But what matters at the end of the day is having good people like Martin and Mulllikin in your corner and a dealership that will take care of any problem you have with no hassles, professionalism, and genuine concern when the going gets tough (for as long as you have the car). It matters that the sales people tell you the truth and demonstrate it. Thats been my experience with the people at DeFouw. It is the only reason we keep coming back -- much to my own surprise -- every time. A special note about Matt Martin: he is now the sales manager at DeFouw and he does a 5 star job in that position. Im told hes been there in one capacity or another for 20+ years. I can speak to 10 of them. He knows BMWs, knows what hes doing, and is the consummate professional.

Best buying experience ever. I had the pleasure of working with Cesni Ennis at DeFouw BMW. I was interested in a vehicle that they had got in but had a part that had been recalled. She was honest and let me know that they were still waiting on the part that had been recalled. She said she was not sure how soon the car would be ready. But, promised to contact me once it was available. She did just that! If it wasnt for her amazing customer service throughout the entire process, I am not sure what I would be driving. Cesni made sure to show me all the features of the car and customization options. Not only was she positive and upbeat she truly made me feel comfortable with my purchase. She also made me aware of their ability to service the vehicle in the future. I live about 50 miles from the dealership but due to their amazing customer service I think it might be worth the drive. The financing process was quick and easy as well. Regardless of what make of car I purchase next, I will without a doubt contact Cesni Ennis at Defouw BMW first.

Purchesed my first car 2013 BMW 328Xi. Worked with Ben Mullikin and had an outstanding experience.

This place is horrendous. I went to go get my 2009 BMW 328i fixed as it was having some issues, when I would accelerate between 30mph to 40mph the whole car would start to shake. I took my car to Defouw BMW a total of two times and ended up with the same result: my car not being fixed. The first time I took it in, they had my car for around 5 days and they charged me 700 dollars to fix the problem. The day I picked it up, there were new scratches to the back end of my car and the break light was stuck on my dash. As I was driving home from Defouws, I noticed that the shaking did not stop at all. So I called them again and went back 1 week later to figure out what went wrong. I went on a test drive with one of the workers and when we were done, he talked to Steve (the guy who has been in charge of my car the first time) and talked about the transmission having a problem. They told me that they did not know what was wrong with my car and that they just know that there is a problem with the front of the car (not even telling me that it was the transmission). I asked them why they charged me 700 dollars to fix my car the first time and they just said that they made a mistake in what the problem was. I couldnt get my 700 dollars back or even an apology. I left my car for around 2 weeks in order for them to fix my car, but all they did was call me and tell me that they didnt know what the problem is and that it has to do with the transmission somehow. They used up all my gas, put more warning sign lights on my dashboard (I still do not know what they mean), drove 90+ miles on my car, charged me 100 dollars, took my car for 2 weeks AND STILL DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM, in fact: THEY MADE IT WORSE. My car now shakes every time I accelerate (this started the moment I picked it up from Defouw). This place is terrible, I will never come back. I told them my concerns with all this and STEVE was rude and did not do anything, not even an apology. NEVER COME TO THIS PLACE UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE CHEATED!!!
