Ok, let’s be real - car repairs, whether under warranty or not are NEVER EVER fun. Car repairs when there are no loaners or rentals available ANYWHERE are a lot LESS fun. Matthew @ Community did his best to make the whole process as painless as possible. I brought my vehicle in on a Tuesday morning and was shuttled to work. A couple hours later I had an update on the repairs - not good...it would need to stay. I picked my car up Thursday. Before I could get out of the parking lot another warning light came on. I dropped it off on Friday and was shuttled to work. I had an update within an hour - it was a simple fix and would be ready by noon. The shuttle arrived to pick me up and I was on my way. Everyone at Honda was so nice. My car was returned to me running like a champ. Y’all we’re all facing some kind of shortage or challenge here or there - please be kind.

Save yourself some time and money and go somewhere else. I asked for final price and once agreed they asked for a $6000 down payment. Definitely was not a good experience. I purchased the Honda at another dealership and saved myself $4600 for the exact same vehicle.

The service was awesome especially from Taylor. I’m a first time car buyer and was having a little anxiety about the whole process. When I first walked in and was greeted by Taylor it was a relief, he wanted me to get in my new dream car . The whole process was super easy and all of the staff were extremely helpful. The particular car I wanted was not on the lot that day but Taylor was able to tell me when it was going to arrive and even contacted me to let me know that he hadn’t forgotten about me.On pickup day my car was perfect. The detailing team definitely knows how to make you feel like royalty stepping in your new vehicle. Nikki at Community Honda is AMAZING, I told her I didnt want to settle on anything I wasnt completely in love with and she held me to that. Ryan with the finance team met all of my requirements and Nikki went above and BEYOND to make sure everything was taken care of and I was taken care of. My first car buying experience was horrific, but Nikki made this one the best experience yet. We laughed, we joked around, and we found the EXACT car I was wanting. Very bad responsibilities. Unrespectful guys. The guy just copied my document, inserted all of my data in his data bank and after wasting my time for several minutes, he came back and said we dont have the car. I scheduled an appointment before arriving and let him know which type of car Im interested. I never recommend this dealer to everyone and never go again to this dealer. U also has an other appointment but due to wasting the time, I missed that one. Completely unsatisfied.

When viewing and inspecting the first car I looked at, I noticed a multitude of brake dust and other raised spots that were not consistent with the paint job. I was NOT told that the car would be cleaned. I had to inform the sales staff of the cars condition. They then stated it would be taken care of and cleaned. So, it appears that they would have let me drive away from the dealership having not informed me of the state of the car. Full disclosure was definitely not on display.After being informed that they cleaned it, I noticed two substantial scratches on the back right, lower side panel above the wheel. I was told that it would be fixed; this amounted to touch up paint being applied. I stated that I was not taking it like that, as it was supposed to be a brand new car. Further, a substantial amount of noticeable spots remained after reportedly being cleaned.As soon as I walked up to the second car, I noticed a gouge/deep scratch. I could definitely see underneath the paint and immediately informed the salesperson. Upon further inspection of the car, I noticed a substantial gouge/scratch on the edge of the hood that went beyond the clear coat and other layers of paint to the metal of the car. There were also two other spots where the metal was visible on the hood that I found and sent pictures of to the salesperson.A day was scheduled for me to drop off the car to be fixed. Once told that my vehicle was ready, I looked it over and was immediately dissatisfied. The bumper scratches appeared to have been minimally attended to or touched as it remained rough/bumpy and a black/dark gray color was still visible beneath the paint. The main gouge on my hood was “touched up.” However, the blemish and unevenness are still noticeable. One spot on my hood appeared to have touch up paint on it, but the gray metal is still noticeable through the touch up. One of the spots appears to have been neglected altogether as the gray is not covered with anything and is just as visible as when I brought in my car.Overall, I purchased a new vehicle that appeared to have damage/defects that should not be present on a new vehicle. When supposedly fixed, it was definitely not in a new state.My main issue is the fact that this is supposed to be a brand new car with no noticeable blemishes in the paint. Honda reportedly conducts their own inspection and should have easily caught these issues as I did with barely a look. I also wonder if any of the staff or sales team at Community Honda Lafayette would have taken my car in that condition when it was labeled as brand new.When initially discussing payments and pricing for the car, I was told that Honda could not give me an estimate as that is a Honda policy to not provide that information. I had to take and accept their word, which did not suffice or hold either. Everything initially stated was not maintained when the written paperwork was presented to me. The note was substantially higher, the truck trade was far less than initially discussed, and my term and interest rate were higher.Based on the above information and overall experience, I would not recommend Community Honda Lafayette to any individual in the market for a new vehicle. It is ultimately a business, and the customer is a means to an end. The surface, jovial nature of the sales team works to a point, but that only goes so far in my book. I feel that they did not prove themselves in following up or addressing any of my concerns. I also feel that they disregarded what I saw as unacceptable for a “BRAND NEW” car. It seems they ultimately wrote me off and suggested with their comments and behavior that I should just be good with it and was likely blowing things out of proportion. That doesn’t work for me especially since the car was supposed to be “NEW.” I have a very bad taste in my mouth and DO NOT want to work with or return to this place of business for anything. I will likely take my car to other Honda dealerships for maintenance and any other issues.

But these guys bent the rules in the most delightful ways to help me make a great decision. I got a good value on my trade and landed the most incredible car Ive ever driven. **EDIT**After several weeks of working with Tyler Ive got to say that I am happy. Tyler contacted me directly shortly after I posted the review below and has been responsive, returning text messages, phone calls, and contacting me to give updates on things being worked. He has actually helped solve my problems and make my situation right. The stars aligned in a bad way for me but Tyler has made every effort to make the situation better. It is clear that Community Honda takes ownership and responsibility of their business. Thanks again Tyler.____________________________Horrible experience from all aspects. We traveled from Baton Rouge (1.5 hours away) and the Odyssey we were looking at has a broken seat lever, car is not detailed, and AC has some issues. Community Honda agreed to fix these items but we would need to return to collect the vehicle. We agreed to purchase vehicle but its now 1pm and we have been discussing since 10:30am so we wanted to go eat lunch before progressing with all the sales paperwork. We were told that we needed to put a deposit down to go get lunch. This is ridiculous.We asked if rubber floor mats could be included as we would need to travel back from Baton Rouge (~3 hours for a two way trip). We were told that they could be purchased for $1395, which we declined, then were offered for $695. Im not interested in getting screwed on price so again decline. My $250 aftermarket mats are working just fine. When we pickup the car after 2 days of waiting on the repairs to be completed and the van only has a quarter tank of gas meaning we needed to fill-up before even reaching Baton Rouge.We bought the extended warranty and had a transmission fault after owning the vehicle for 2 weeks and both the service department at the Prairieville Honda dealership and us cannot get ahold of anyone to speak with to have the repairs approved. This is with us and the dealership calling the warranty company 2 times per day for 1 week.Ive reached out to the team at Community Honda to obtain the contact details for the general manager and owner to discuss our issues but cannot get a response.I would highly recommend you look to purchase a vehicle elsewhere based on my experience with Community Honda. Nothing about this transaction has been smooth or acceptable and frankly it is embarrassing.

Who would do such thing?They charged me for tire rotation along for oil change and inspection. Told me everything looks great. Few days later they asked me to change all four tires. Which I eventually did in a different place for a cheaper option. Basically I rotated old tires, paid and replaced with new tires.

Without an appointment the wait is long BUT the customer service makes up for the long wait.This was my first time visit and was extremely impressed with the front desk as they kept me up to date and tried to help me. I had my 91 year old mother with me and had an emergency that brought me in. Do not recommend: constantly trying to upsell, sleazy, wanted a car that was not in stock, agreed to a final TTL total and the interest rate but when I came back to get the car they changed my rates after we signed off on it, tried to upsell me again for another hour or so the day I came back to buy the car, tried to get me to agree to an additional $150 a month after I told them I was over budget, now I will end up paying $3000 more than I originally agreed/wanted to, the entire process was painfull....BUYERS REMORSE

Worse experience ever they let 15,000 dollars walk out the door. Was trying to buy car with debit card but they didnt want to absorb the cost of the card transaction fees. Wouldnt negotiate price and had attitude about that. Which I accepted their price and was going to over pay. Really sad part is I am a business owner and was considering buying multiple cars from this place.

Truly great customer service! Drove from Houston to get the vehicle and when we got there the vehicle was ready. Never take your honda here for service.Had car towed in for a diagnostic on transmission. They said transmission had internal damage. Had car towed back home and paid by phone. When I saw receipt, there were nothing written down, except for cost of service, of which there was no description of diagnostic performed on transmission.Left message with Chasity, who said Chase would give me call to explain work performed. Never heard from either.WORST customer service.

EDIT: The Service Manager called to discuss what happened and how things could have worked out better. It was very obvious from speaking with him that he appreciate and respects his clients, and that hes trying to run a reputable business and not just make some cash or anything. I am very appreciative of his call. There may be an opportunity in the future for me to give Community Honda of Lafayette a second chance.I will NEVER bring my business here again, and I have already begun to tell all I know, especially other Honda owners, to do similar.Mon 21st: I dropped my Fit off on Mon 21st, being told it would only take a few hours for them to repair the recall issue. They called me and said theyd need to keep it overnight because they were busy. It should be ready by Wed 23rd. I had doctors appointments all day Tue and Wed that I had to arrange rides for, but I did it anyway. I was told since it was a safety issue, they could not release the car back into my possession. I was reluctant, but apparently had no choice. Had they told me this ahead of time, I would not have scheduled my appointment the day before doctors appointments. But as I was told on the phone when scheduling it would only be a few hours, I did.Wed 23rd: I was told they ordered the incorrect part (part for an automatic, despite the Team Leader and I discussing for several minutes how it was a standard and we prefer driving them). They said the new part would be in on Fri 25th. I told them I would be out of town (riding with others) and would be able to get it Mon 28th; they said fine.Mon 28th: They told me they broke something else while working in there. So now they had to order another replacement part, which would arrive Tue 22nd.Tue 22nd: The truck did not arrive. (THIS, I understand, was not their fault.) They hoped it would be in Wed 23rd. I told them I was going out of town *and needed my car for this trip*. They said theyd have something for me to borrow, if nothing else.Wed 23rd: My car was finally ready! I requested a courtesy trip check for my troubles, specifically mentioning oil and tires. They said that would not be a problem. My tires still looked low when I got my car, so I checked them anyway, just in case — one was 23.8 and another 28.6, when they all should have been 32-35 PSI. Obviously, this facility does not even know how to check the air in tires competently.

I was on a trip from San Antonio to New Orleans to drop off some furniture for my son who is in the Coast Guard when the alternator in my 2013 Honda Pilot gave up the ghost on I-10 heading east about 70 miles short of Lafayette. Drove on battery alone (no AC and no way to lower the windows in 85-degree weather) but thank God I was able to limp to Community Honda. I arrived 15 minutes after the service section closed for the day but lucky for me, their Assistant Service Manager, Megan Fuselier, had not left yet and was an answer to my prayers by checking availability of parts and making sure they were able to get my Pilot repaired the first thing in the morning. I could not have been happier with how I was treated by the dealership staff and especially Ms. Fuselier. Thank you all for turning what was looking like a dreadful situation into something that ended up being not too bad. Also, a big thanks for the recommendation to try Pop’s Po’boys when I asked where to go eat! This was the first time I stopped in Lafayette and can say I left with a great impression of your dealership and your city!

I shouldnt have to work to purchase a car but apparently that is what they want here. Called yesterday to get purchase paperwork sent to me as I am about 10 hours away. Then I was going to wire the money for this car. Never received the paperwork nor a follow up so I guess this means they dont want to sell cars. Oh well will shop elsewhere.
