I have used these guys for probably 10 years. They are the best. I tell everyone to go there. They will fix your computer and possibly buy it for a good price. They are honest and fast. Also they take the time to explain everything.

I went in for memory sticks. To be honest I didnt even know this store existed until the cashier at Wal-Mart sent me to upgrade my new All in One. I should have gone to Startech first. Crazy deals on everything with honest and succinct descriptors. Ryan was friendly and super helpful recommending and finding exactly what I needed to maximize my RAM quickly. I watched several other staff assist customers with the same effortless courtesy and speed. It felt like I was shopping at a specialty mom and pop tech store owned by friends of the family. Seriously check this place out...this visit made my day.

In fact most of their employees appears to be very knowledgeable. That is great merits for gamers like ourselves.

Jason did a great job in repairing my laptop. I thought the problem was the cooling fan and he could have replaced it and I would never have been aware that the problem wasnt the fan. It was debris in the machine. Im very pleased with the job he did and his honesty.

We’ve visited three times since moving to North FL. EVERY VISIT was BEYOND exceptional (and yes, this includes coming in a few minutes before closing with an emergency (puppy-chewed work laptop’s power cord)). The experience is not unique to a given technician; they’ve created a culture at StarTech of knowledgeable, understanding and caring staff that have never talked over my head. They’ve always worked collaboratively with one another and the environment is very inviting. Separate employees have offered a series of work arounds and guidance rather than push service.In short, one never expects driving by a computer service shop to feel positively. It’s been a few months since I’ve been in and their service has stuck out enough for me to still think about them. I saw another review where someone says they drive two hours to come here; I understand why.

I brought my HP Laptop in to have the top replaced due to broken hinges in March of 2020. I was urged to just purchase a new computer, but since it was fairly new, I insisted that they repair it. I spent over $400 on the repair and when I got it back, the camera wasnt hooked up. I called and they said they would fix it. COVID happened, and I didnt bring it back because I honestly didnt trust them. My USB ports no longer worked to upload my pictures, and my battery no longer held the 9 hour charge like it did before I brought it to them. Ive had to keep it hooked up to the power source for it to continue to work. This morning it shut off while it was hooked up to the power source. Reluctantly, I called them to express all of my concerns, and Brian was very rude and disrespectful and told me that he suggests that I take it somewhere else, because I obviously have some trust issues with them. Absolutely, I do. They worked on my desktop years ago, and it was never the same after it was in their possession. I forgot about it until my husband reminded me after I told him about all of the issues I was having, but it was too late. They didnt hook up my laptops camera, and Tyler said they they would fix it, but Brian, the owner, tells me today that he cant help me. Simply because I called him out on his fraudulent practices. The battery that is with my computer is not the battery that was bought with this laptop. Im so upset that a business operates in this manner. All I asked him to do was to make this right, but he says that he cant help me, and he could tell from the beginning of our conversation that he could not help me. Im highly disappointed and disgusted that he does business this way. They tried to get me to purchase a new computer at the start of this, and I feel they have messed up my computer to try to charge me more money to fix the issues that they caused. The repair was not completed, as the camera says it isnt connected, so they need to do something to make this right, but judging by the other I resolved complaints, I doubt they will. This computer has been ruined because of them. God knows what really occurred here, and they do too. I pray they make this right, because what has happened here is completely wrong on so many levels.

These guys do an excellent job! Their custom built computers are far better and last longer than an off-the-shelf computer in my experience. We have bought 6 computers from them so far and have had very good performance out all of them. They have also helped us with repairs and Im grateful to have such efficient and knowledgeable people to work with. Keep up the good work!

I am impressed by the helpful knowledgeable staff. They gave me a very reliable refurbished computer for a very fair price. There was an issue with the keyboard and they are covering the replacement under warranty. When I raised the issue they looked at it while I waited and ordered the part while I was there. They run their business honorably. I will continue to go to them for my computer needs.

Great place to get all your computer needs

The best measure of the integrity of a service oriented company is determined when something goes wrong. Here is where their reputation is stacked against their competitors. We sent an old and very tired computer in for very slow performance. Within a few hours we we told that the hard drive was worn-out and would need replacement. The job was authorized and done placing the unit back in our possession in just slightly over twenty-four hours. A few days later the machine stopped working altogether and we sent it back. The following morning we were told that the unit was ready, tested and ready for pick-up. There were no additional charges requested. The machine has performed to our complete satisfaction ever since. I didnt ask why the unit stopped working and nor do I care. What I do care about is that they prioritized the issue and got it done, quickly, efficiently and without added expense.

Three employees were helping two customers and I was in there for twenty five minutes and no one even acknowledged the fact that I was in there. If it took all three to help only two other people they could have at least asked me if we could wait. The third employee eventually went in the back and I left, without ever a word being said to me. And yes my computer is still broken.

My husband used to work on computers. We have had the pleasure of doing business with StarTech since around 2009/2010. My husband helps others when they are looking for computers or laptops. We and those he has helped have had good service, the staff there will tell you to not purchase something if they think itvreally isnt what you are looking for or wanting. Theyll do their best to check their inventory and if you wait a day or more theyll let you know if they can or cant. One time a family was going to buy a laptop, they were told elsewhere their laptop was dead, nothing to be done. They asked to look at the laptop. Fixed it for very little and saved the family money. If I could go less than one star, I would. I want to support local businesses, but they make it so hard. They sell reused products at inflated prices that end up being more expensive than the respective new item. They dont even try to help out, I get ripped off everytime I go to the store, which is rarely ever due to the crazy prices. It just happens to be the only tech dedicated store in town. This place is like a scam, making its money by praying on people who know little to nothing about technology. For example, I needed an OUTDATED cable for a reason. They charged 15 dollars for an OLD and USED cable that is easily 5 dollars anywhere else. Save yourself the money and the headache. Shop Online

They went above and beyond expectations. Tyler took on the challenges setting up programs in an unusual setup that I requested, gave me regular updates and was considerate in regards to the time necessary to complete the job.

Disappointed, what a waste of money! Purchased a new Star Tech custom built computer for the office. After 3 return trips and multiple parts replacements, I was forced to take it to another computer repair company. After an overhaul the computer works great!

Im in the final year of a Computer Science degree in digital and multimedia. This review is a followup to a previous review. After multi visits to get my computer repaired, I gave up on there ability to repair computers, it never was right. It would continually bluescreen reporting a hardware error. The only good technician that knew what he was doing with my computer was Tyler but getting him to work on it was virtually impossible. It seemed like my computer was farmed to only trainees. Finally, after tolerating the situation till the semester ended, I was able to take it to Totally Covered where in one day it was repaired and no problems since. And yes, I always ask questions when its my money being spent.

Beware. If you are older or ignorant of computers they will have no mercy. They sell junk that will break on you. I bought a desktop and laptop and neither had the correct mainboard drivers among other issues.They sold me a SCSI card that was unusable on modern hard drives.Never again!

I would have rated this review better, but we went a purchased a DVD Writer for $50.00 to connect it to a laptop so we could have a way to read our medical disc... Well we had a chrome book so the DVD writer would not work with this machine, so we just went and purchased a new computer with a DVD Writer installed. I called the store so we could return the purchased $50.00 DVD Writer and they told me NO! That they have a NO RETURN POLICY What in the world. So basically I am stuck with this DVD Writer that I have no need for, and can not return it to the store, even though I have my receipt! I will not recommend this store to anyone. Sorry as a business you do not treat your customers this way!!!

When I first began deal with StarTech, they were nice. As long as you were spending your money and not complaining they were fine. When you question anything, that is when their evil sides come out. My son and his care giver turned in a computer to get an estimate. The tower ended up being lost. Despite the fact someone called and gave the care give an estimate, the owner claims they do not have his computer and offered for me to purchase another one for about $100. I told them it was unacceptable and Brian told me unless I knew the exact specs of the computer they would not replace it. Brian began yelling at me and told me to not come to his store again.

We have had to bring our desk top computer in for them to fix, going on now 4 times. After paying nearly $1000.00 you would think they would get it right. We don’t live in Lake City so there’s gas expenses on top of the cost of (getting it fixed). If it’s not truely fixed this last time, I know a lot of people and an article will be put in the paper!

For the past 5 days I have been dealing with a dead / hinging machine - one which i rely on to stream consistently each day. It was narrowed down to the RAM, PSU (power-supply unit), and/or Motherboard (in order from least to most expensive). Because of poor maintenance, bad surge-protection, and a few literal bugs in the system, several contacts on the Motherboard were fried. Throughout the diagnostics, StarTechs professionalism was in balance with their inventory (for users who need to be back up and running reliably at (really) fair pricing) was in balance with their commitment to produce a good and fair outcome, but above all they are endearing and friendly and this is why by name I have to thank Justin, Patrick, and Tyler (Billy gets a shout-out too, as he wasnt involved with my particular case but was still personable and helped the moment i asked for a screwdriver).The outcome: one dead mobo, 1/3 dead RAM sticks, and a dead PSU,and a morning (2-hour period) at the shop had me back to 100% (and my wallet breathed a sigh of relief). Any gamer, streamer, or self-contracted worker who needs consistent and reliable hardware to match must understand why such local shops as this one are indispensable. I went there with a friend to price their macs. I did some prior research at other stores and their prices for brand spanking new models and also searched Craigslist for used models. I have to say I was impressed with their used models in stock along with their prices. Steven the technician that assisted us was very knowledgeable about the macs and was very helpful. The macbook my friend purchased needed additional ram installed for the purpose he plans on using it for(movie scoring) and Steven had the installation done in no time. I deff. plan on returning to purchase some things Ill be needing in the near future. While we were there I also got a chance to speak with the owner who seemed very helpful as well. He wanted to make sure we were satisfied with our purchase and seemed like a very down to earth type of guy. Overall the experience with this business was excellent and had us leaving with smiles on our faces.

When it comes to work Bryant is one of the best managers I have ever had. I have worked for many employers in my life and everything that I have done for Startech has paid off. People should not judge Startech based on price. You get good service, quickly, and they take care of so many people in Lake City, Live Oak, and Jacksonville. When you go some where for service, you want it to be busy, that means that they do good work and are the best. Thanks Bryant for your advise, training, and management.
