Incredibly professional and friendly. Prices were reasonable and service was completed in a timely way. They explained the cost of the work needed beforehand so there were no surprise charges. Brake pad service is provided for life also which is great news for people who plan to have vehicles long term. Would recommend this business to anyone needing brake service.

Absolutely fantastic business . Not from Lansing so wasn’t aware of good businesses in the area. I called twice to get a estimate on brake pads and rotors. they had the fairest rate in town. Not only did they have a fair price, they were able to get me in as soon as I brought my car in. The staff I interacted with were very friendly and knowledgeable. They got my car finished in a quick time frame. I highly recommend them for repair in the Lansing area.

My moms boyfriend tried to repair my brakes with no luck after I had bought all the parts. I called several places to be told we don’t use customers parts mind you they were still in box from o’reilys part store with receipts. I called and Owner quoted me $170 for labor. Very happy with the outcome. I will continue to come here for all my repairs.

This place is great! I was told elsewhere that my whole exhaust system would have to be replaced if I wanted it to be quiet. Bob called after looking at it for free and told me I only needed a new flex pipe for less than $200. He was right! Call them up to see if the service you need is one they offer, I definitely recommend them.

Lacks communication. In 5 days time I didnt receive a call about the car until they were almost done with it. After paying an obscene amount my car was still not fixed. They didnt even take the time to make sure my steering wheel was properly aligned.

This place is great! I went to Midas to have them fix a noisy exhaust system, knowing that a pipe needed to be cut off and welded. Midas quoted me $800 and said the whole exhaust system needed to be replaced. Then, I took the car to Discount Muffler and brakes, where within 1 hour they called and said it needed a simple pipe replaced and welded, only $100 out the door, and finished an hour later. These people are honest and only do what is necessary and makes sense! Great experience

Bob is absolutely the best! I went to him because my father-in-law had taken his cars to him for repairs over the years before he passed away a couple of years ago. When Bob found out I was related to Gary, he said that he thought about him all the time and really enjoyed him as a customer! He even remembered his cars and all the details about them! I was so touched by this. He repaired my car and charged an honest price. He didn’t try to push anything that wasn’t necessary. I would definitely take my car back to him for anything! There aren’t too many businesses like this anymore, so you should definitely consider his shop for any future repairs!

I came to get a quote on a muffler repair and was greeted by two friendly gentlemen at the front desk who were happy to help. They got me a quote and offered a very affordable price and got the job done right away. Very good experience and I’ll definitely return if I have other car issues!

My wife and I have been coming to Discount Muffler for many years. We like the fact that we can get our car checked for problems once a year for free. Bob the owner and Dee, the head mechanic, are both very knowledgeable, as are all the mechanics Bob hires. They will let you know if there is anything unsafe that needs to be fixed right away. Plus they will also tell you if something can wait and about when it will need to be addressed. I have a 2000 Toyota Sienna van with over 200,000 miles on it. Now that the brakes are fixed, which I was told about, Bob and Dee both advised me not to put much more money into the van, as it will probably run fine for about 2 years yet. They said if something big breaks at this point, its time to get another vehicle. How many shops could you get that kind of upfront honest advice from. Not too many that I know of. When Im waiting for my car, I highly recommend to new customers, just coming in, that this is a good honest, trustworthy place for them to bring their car. I dont know how long theyve been in business, but weve been coming a very long time. Their prices are fair and very reasonable.

They stole my catalytic converter and did not tell me . I found out the next time I had to fix it .. Then I called and asked about it theydenied it told me that it is not legal and they would not have done that

Had work done here a few months ago and forgot to post: I am extremely satisfied with their work and efforts on my brakes with a reasonable price. It was truly amazing to sit in the waiting area and see how well EACH and EVERY person was treated by the staff. It was really great to see --- they do great work AND are a true example of the Golden Rule.

I called around Lansing for brake and rotor service on my Mercedes. And was told by many that they dont service import cars, they quoted me a larger dollar amount that it should be or they wouldnt give me a quote over the phone, telling me they would have to look at it first. My last call went to Discount and Bob quoted me a very responsible price and told me I could bring it in the next morning. I dropped it off and 9:00 am and it was done by 11:00 am.I am so pleased with the timely service AND the reasonable price. 👍🏼

Called a day ahead to confirm they could help me with my front brakes, 2013 Chevy Cruze. Gave me a quote over the phone that matched precisely to what I was charged, got there before 10:30 am, already busy but got me in quickly. Ray confirmed my calipers were still in good shape and executed the job in less than 2 hours. Will be back, seem like honest guys, but they are BUSY so plan on that.

My exhaust was very loud and I thought it to be a very expensive repair. Guys here fixed it for $160. Owner seems like a really great guy and hes got A LOT of experience. These guys know what theyre doing. I highly recommend it for your exhaust and brake needs.

I no longer live in Lansing, but I still drive here from out of town to have my muffler work done because they have always treated me well, and charged fairly. They have always been friendly, up front, and let me know my costs before any work is done. If they arent busy, and they probably will be, they will get the job done ASAP. Sure, its not the cleanest place and the guys arent wearing fresh white overalls without stains, but that means they are willing to get in there and do what I dont want to! Cant recommend these guys enough.

Great service. Nice people. You want pay for a fancy building and costly overhead but youll recieve a professional job at more than reasonable rates done in a timely matter. This is my go to shop for all things exhaust related.

I usually dont write reviews but this place was just that good to me. They were very honest with me about what needed to be fixed on my car and the price was great. I went in at almost closing time while they were busy just knowing that they would probably tell me to come back another day but by my surprise they got me right in and I was back on the road within an hour. I went to a different spot to get an estimate a week ago and they told me that I had so much wrong with my car. The owner at Discount Mufflers took me around and showed me everything I listed and let me see for myself that I didnt need ANY of those fixed. Saved me a bunch of money I dont have :)

They got me right in, only suggested what I needed, and I was out in about 15 minutes. Very reasonable price and great service.

They fixed transmission leak or so they said. Found out they stripped 2 of the bolts and had to pay them 300 then the owner told me to take it to Lansing transmission. 165 later and they fixed there problem. Owner would not refund but 60 dollars. Plus they completely greased up the inside of the vehicle which is unacceotable

I dont recommend bringing your car hear. They put the wrong part on our car and they tried to not fix their mess up. They also told us we had a year warranty on the labor they did but 7 months later when what they just fixed was bad again they are saying there is no year warranty for the labor because we brought the parts in. This is not what they told us before the fixed it.

The guys showed me what was wrong with the muffler pipe, quickly fixed it, and I got a very reasonable price. Nice job!
