Yikes - where to begin. We chose The Kitchen Shop based on a gorgeous display in their showroom. It was exactly our vision so we decided to go with them after months of researching companies. They required that we pay our balance for new countertops and stove in full (should have been our first warning) which we agreed. When they had their team come out for a final measure, the team told us they do not install this specific type of counter edge we paid for. Apparently it’s a custom job that’s not a simple task. The question I had, as well as my sales associate from the Kitchen Shop was “why do we have this on display if we can’t do it”. Good question... They agreed to hire another guy to do the install for the job then all communication ended on their part. I called every 2 weeks for about 3 months with no new information. It really felt like they had their invoice paid and didn’t care if the job got done or not. Months went by and I finally got a hold of the installer directly, cut the kitchen shop out of the conversation and was able to get the project done. There was no follow up from them to make sure the job was done. I wouldn’t recommend them and won’t be using them for any future projects.

I had a great experience working with the Kitchen Shoppe. Sara was friendly, understanding, and quick to answer all of my questions. I found the products and prices to be very competitive and they offered a one stop shop for my kitchen remodel. I would highly recommend working with them on a kitchen project.

In Sep, 2020, we ordered a recessed medicine wall cabinet from the Kitchen Shop through their designer Sara Whitmire, having provided her a detailed diagram and shop drawing with exact specifications, costing us $641. When it was delivered on November 13, it was 1 1/2 over specifications. We were repeatedly unable to contact Sara, so our contractor re-fabricated the cabinet, costing us $150. On Dec 9, Sara agreed to refund us that amount due to their error, but to date, they have neither paid us or contacted us back. We can not recommend a business like this that clearly has issues with telling the truth or fulfilling its obligation to provide service.

Horrible experience. Paid a designer to come in and measure and order appliances for us. We were clear that we wanted a countertop depth fridge. 6 months later when they were finally being installed, NONE of the new appliances fit in the spaces that they measured them for. We had to go without appliances for 3 WEEKS while we waited for them to return, and cut cabinets and countertop out in order to make the new appliances fit. In the meantime, my husband missed multiple days of work, as they kept canceling at the last minute and rescheduling. 3 weeks later they finally got everything put in (our fridge was still 3 inches past the countertop depth) and still expected us to pay full price for the installation and designer fee which went so horribly wrong.

We had put off remodeling our kitchen for years and were so happy we finally did it. Working with Melissa and The Kitchen Shop was a very positive experience. She provided design suggestions when we needed them, but never pushed or tried to sell us something we might not want. Best of all, we loved working with the contractor and the painter she recommended. They were wonderful and did quality work.

Grant was VERY helpful! There was a mistake on the first order; he took care of it, and after the Covid19 delay(no fault of his), we got our replacement countertop. Everything fit perfectly, and were very happy with it!! Highly recommended people there. Thanks!!

Was all set for the delivery of my three items ready to install. One was not delivered and the other two were wrong. After getting the stuff finally delivered they still would not acknowledge they gave me a cabinet that was incorrect trying to tell me that is what I ordered, and were less than forthcoming acknowledging how far from great the transaction went. I had to call and hound them to get anywhere and they still barely budged and were very accusatory. I was happy to try and use a small business but their customer service need a lot of work!!

Our experience with the Kitchen Shop was a positive from our first visit. Their designer, John Michael, was patient and listened to my wants and needs in a new kitchen. He was a great help in executing the look I wanted. I never felt rushed, or that I was taking too much time in bringing items home to live with for a few days in my environment and light before making a decision. This was a frequent pattern for me.A deciding factor for us in selecting the Kitchen Shop was their in house contractors. We were very impressed with the efficiency of electrician, plumber and the lead installer. It worked like a well tuned operation. They always took care to vacuum and consolidate items that had not yet been I installed. I give them an A+ for organization and efficiency. The quality of the products I chose met my expectations and the staff reordered doors that didnt meet theirs without any prompting from me.For us, our experience with the Kitchen Shop was nothing but positive and professional!

The Design was Great but they Do Not Provide installers with the blueprint or plan when the cabinets are Delivered. I was told that the Installer needs to go to the Lansing office to get this, if they want it. Though I was there and had hired my own installer (who they knew), I was Not provided with the blueprint either. A Panel for my refrigerator was the wrong size, and when I asked what the cabinet company was going to do about their mistake, I was told “We have No Control over the company who makes our cabinets”. So basically their cabinet company can make mistakes, delay the delivery, or whatever they want and the Kitchen Shop doesn’t care because they Already have your money. I’d suggest looking somewhere else for a new kitchen before dealing with the Kitchen Shop. Getting a good design doesn’t help if the manufacturer isn’t held accountable in any way and can hold your kitchen renovation hostage.

We hired The Kitchen Shop of Lansing to remodel our 35 year old kitchen. Harry was the designer, and he did a great job of figuring out how best to utilize our limited space, and worked in some wonderful storage features I hadnt thought of. We were happy with his design, happy with the cabinetry, and happy with the installation. The cabinetry order involved a lot of measurements and a lot pieces of crown molding, etc. With so many things that could have gone wrong, it really went very, very smoothly. There was a minor error in one thing that was ordered but that was remedied fairly quickly.The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of five is that our designer was an older gentleman, and doesnt seem to check his email. Perhaps they shouldnt have put his email address on his business card, because I assumed when it shows an email address that it is getting checked.I would recommend The Kitchen Shop!

We ordered our cabinets and they came in two weeks, unfortunately, they came with the wrong faces, and doors. And the wrong bathroom vanity It took 3 weeks to get new doors/drawers. They came in 3 weeks later and 5 were missing/not ordered. Now we’ve waited 5 days even to hear back on when we’re going to get them in. We still don’t have the bathroom vanity. The salesman, Greg, keeps telling me “well I’m not sure how we’re holding you up with your project”. It does not matter, what matters is we’ve have terrible time just getting what we originally ordered. Now two months later the issue is still not resolved and the kitchen shop has no sympathy at all.

I hired the Kitchen Shop to do a remodel of my condo in East Lansing. From the first day shopping to the completion of the job they were professional and did a quality job. Their prices were very competitive with others we shopped. They stayed right on the schedule they promised. I am very happy with their work.

We had a nice experience with this kitchen shop, this year we remodeled our kitchen to more attractive and nice cabinets that you wont keep your eyes away from. Mark Voss was the professional designer who put his 24 year- skill to come out with wonderful sketch that made it the heart of the house, with the aid of his crew had finished the work. My wife didnt like the waste-basket cabinet, they changed it to meet my wifes wish without any cost. The crew was very professional,organized and left my house clean. I recommend them to any homeowners who would like to remodel or update their kitchen.

Terrible experience. Shoddy work that I had to repair. Our newly installed island had to be painted by me after the caulk they used to cover the nail holes didnt match. I was left to wire the electric up on my own. They asked me if there was power and I replied there was. Evidently that is their code for you will need to run the electric. The installed countertops had to be repaired because the install was done poorly. I was asked to pay before the work was completed because the countertops were a warranty issue and not an install issue according to them. I had to run the plumbing for the gas range because they would have to hire a plumber to run it. None of these things were told to us. I have never redone a kitchen so I went to the alleged experts. When I directed all my concerns they were very sympathetic but the service stopped at the sympathy.

Although the end product is something we can live with and like the road getting there was nothing but a nightmare. I was recommended to the kitchen shop by a relative and everything up to the install seemed like a good experience, when the countertops were to be installed the cut out for the sink was wrong (opposite of what my wife wanted) the installers who were sub contracted by the KS had the wrong sink for the cut out too and couldnt get one till Monday I was told. Well it ended up being Tuesday a sink was installed I was unhappy about the situation and they agreed to have a plumber come out and install the sink drains and disposal, which was going to take another two days we had been without a sink for four days at this point I said it needs to be hooked up now so the next day they did get it hooked up the plumber couldnt figure out my disposal so they paid for a new one so I will give them credit for that and the guy was really nice.When it came time to discuss compensation for being without a sink for five days and settling for the wrong set up my wife was given the sub contractors number and had to deal with a very rude guy who wanted to offer us nothing basically, we did finally get something close to what we were thinking but I dont think it should of been up to us to contact their contractor (which also contracts with home depot I was told by the installers so I probably should of just gone there in the first place and saved some money)All in all the countertops do look good but the overall experience and customer service left a bad taste in my mouth and based on my experience I would look elsewhere next time

Incompetent company. Same pattern. Our first indication should have been when the kitchen shop did not return our calls on layout. We went to the Marshall Store. They promised delivery which ended up coming a week later. Then they messed up the order and did not order a cabinet. They were sure to cash our check. They re-ordered the cabinet and then promised a delivery again which needed to happen and they once again failed. This time it was even more critical they meet the deadline and they were absolutely no help. Called their Corp Office and got the same thing. They over promise and under deliver. The sales people do not know the first thing of customer service. Wont happen to us again. There is a pattern here

We ordered a kitchen through Kami at the Kitchen Shop from Waypoint. Kami was great to deal with and really helped us in areas that the big box stores had not. I was installing the kitchen myself and they printed 11x17 plans for me and offered up lots of helpful suggestions. Three of my 20+ pieces came in damaged and as soon as I supplied pictures of the damage new units were ordered and delivered within a week. My wife and I have been extremely happy with the level of service we received before, during and after this process from The Kitchen Shop here in Lansing. When you are doing a project like this yourself exceptional service (when you find it) goes a long long way!!! Very Happy!

My fiancé and I are building a home and were referred to Greg Schwab in Lansing for our kitchen. Working with him has been an absolute pleasure. The kitchen has easily been one of the most detailed and time consuming projects thus far, and Gregs expertise has helped greatly. He worked to stay within our budget, hes made adjusting and making changes a breeze, hes easy to communicate with and stays in touch, and he even reccomended a company for countertops his store didnt have. He has gone above and beyond for us and for that we are thankful!
