I had to turn my car into byrider for transmission work, which was covered by the warranty, but it took the establishment 2 weeks to get my car back to me. I would only receive updates if I called and asked.I received my car back and it’s making a slight friction sound when the wheels rotate. I am not entirely sure what could have went wrong, but it surely did not make that noise before I gave them the vehicle. I would never ignore a worn brake pad, or something of that nature because rotors/break pads are expensive to replace.I am very, very disappointed. The one star is reflective of the time I had to wait, the additional issues I receive for getting the car back, and poor communication.

So a few months ago I contacted JD Byrider car sales and was looking to get a second vehicle but decided to put that on hold.Well last Thursday I decided to go ahead and go through with my plans I had an appointment set up with Dylan Thursday mid morning.So me and my children go up there to be honest right when I walked through the door the whole vibe was just off.Mind you when speaking with them about a car I was informed I could put down what I was comfortable with and could afford being that Ive got four kiddos and all at the time I was thinking $500-$800 down so I made my choice $600 down.Signed paperwork had to go back and speak with the finance.The guy back there was just a fast talker and a tad bit rude saying oh this is not one of those things where you can get a car then stop paying because I have a second vehicle he also mentioned some car dealerships that people have did that to.Basically seemed as if he was saying I wouldnt want to pay monthly and ON TIME wrongggg!!! I always pay my bills on time.So after that jerk Im asked to go back with the other guy Dylan and he kept going in and out talking to a guy named Ron so here is the catch.He comes back in and says didnt you get your stimulus check yet or taxes?REALLY basically asking for more money indirectly.After that I made a phone call told them Id be back and left with my children.Then they texted and called after all that I called and said NOT INTERESTED.Bad customer service I wouldnt dare spend a dime here.The only reason I looked into them is because I have several friends in Texas that got cars fr JD Byrider.I guess before I moved out of state I should have considered. At least Id been shown southern hospitality at the one in Texas.Definitely going to call corporate offices in the morning.

I had a car with them that I paid off. Unfortunately I was in a car accident a week before my last payment. They were helpful to get me a car. So they took my totaled car as a down payment, a long with a thousand dollars and it was great UNTIL this year. I have been paying my note no issue. Recently fell on hard times so I was some DAYS late. Anyway Kirk harassed me and my family so bad I didn’t even want the headache. Today I went to pay my car payment from Friday and some 30 dollars that was owed from a previous payment. Kirk told them not to accept payment unless I had insurance money too. I was robbing Peter to pay Paul and Paul wouldn’t even accept the payment. So I dropped the car off to them. The people at the Lansing office were great! They helped me when I needed it. Kirk however is so horrible I dropped my car off and I m willing to deal with the consequences. Now I don’t have to be harassed over 30 dollars and I have some sanity.

Shady. I am in no actual need of a car. I simply wanted to improve my credit swiftly so I can buy a car that I really want. So I ask over the phone what the requirements were. They told me to bring my employment offer letter, pay stubs, etc. I brought all of that. I brought my husband with me.I was informed this decision is not based off credit, but rather off of monthly obligations vs income. I have no obligations and income over $7k a month. I was prepared for $1k-$3k down comfortably. My mistake was bringing my husband with me.Everyone spoke directly to my husband, as though he is the one making my financial decisions. He’s basically my emotional support human. Don’t let the fact that I have a husband fool you into thinking I need him to tell me what I can and cannot do.So the salesman talks to me to fill out a credit application. He then briefly talks to me about what vehicles I’d like to consider. Then he sits me in a waiting room. I’m brought back to a man in a “finance” office to go over my options. He tells me he will see what he can do. Dude is rude af indicating that this is a bi-weekly payment and not what I’m used to etc etc. he’s loud and obnoxious and I nodded and smiled because I just wanted away from him.I get sat back into the waiting room. In comes some other man. Mask hanging off his nose. Leads me back into the same cubicle that the original salesman had me in. He tells me I can’t get a vehicle based off of the amount of money I wanted to put down and my income. So $7k a month with 0 obligations, $3k down and a $3500 vehicle to sell isn’t good enough? He says my husband has to be involved. He has to run my husbands credit. This isn’t my husbands vehicle Jeeves. This is my vehicle. Put your mask back on your face by the way while I’m talking to you. So I mull over the thought of including my husband (who has no need for a car, I just bought him a Buick in November from a real dealership) and I ask what the price is on the vehicles I was interested in. This man tells me (you ready for it?!) he tells me he doesn’t know until I get qualified. The vehicle price will change based on what I’m qualified for?! What? What even is that? So I asked him if people actually do this. Like are people actually that desperate to pay what you tell them they have to pay without knowing a price up front, he says yes they do. I said well I think I’m done here.You don’t know what you’re paying until you know what you’re qualified for. No thank you.

My car buying experience wasn’t horrible, but it wasn’t anything to rave about either. I’d even say the couple issues I’ve had with the car since the summer were minor. I’m leaving two stars because a mistake was made on their end with my insurance and I was told that would be corrected and a refund would be issued out. That was November 1st. I’ve spoke to someone on a weekly basis in hopes of getting an update. Apparently they only issue refunds out once a month and the next one won’t go out until December. As the customer, firstly I would’ve liked to have been told that right out of the gate, instead of two weeks later. And after 3 weeks it’s still going to be some time before I receive it. The mistake was made on your end, I shouldn’t have to wait for what is most convenient for you. This has been incredibly inconvenient and I’d like to see some better customer service moving forward.UPDATE: Six weeks later and the only contact information I’ve been given is for the same person I’ve been working with from Day One that still can’t give me any reason this has gone unresolved for so long. ThanksIt isn’t doing me any good at all to keep calling that number. Take the time out to address my concerns you allegedly have with something more than an automated response.

Oh where do I begin.... We purchased a vehicle from them after taking it on an overnight test. We found some issues with the car and reported them to the management team. These issues included the cluster display lights going out, the speedometer going way out of whack, and a warble from one of the wheels when we drove. When we went back the next day, we told them that we did want to purchase the vehicle, but these issues needed to be addressed. The cluster display needs a new part [we made this purchase a month ago, and it STILL needs it], but the warble was never even looked at. We requested right on the spot the that service manager [Cody] take a look at it, and we were just pretty much blown off. 2 days later, we found out what was causing the warble... THE TIRE WAS ABOUT TO COME OFF! The wheel hub on the front passenger side had 3 stems SHEERED off and the other 2 lug nuts could be turned by hand. We were 40+ miles away from the location, so we had a mechanic that we trusted replace the hub, ByRider compensated the amount that we paid. Honestly, i would be giving them a higher rating if the story stopped here.... but wait, theres more! I recieved a call from the service manager, CODY, who told me that the part for the cluster came in. Great. I got a rental and coordinated the car going to the JD Byrider service shop for the day. A few hours after, I get a call from Cody, who first tells me that the cluster needed to be programmed because it was showing the car as having 30k miles less. Now as a service manager, I cant fathom how he did NOT know that needed to take place before hand. My wife was later told that he ordered the wrong part in the first place. People lie, fact of life, whatever. He did also work on a code that was being thrown for a misfire in cylinder #2 and said that the car would be ready by 4:30. Their business hours are until 8pm. I went out to their location [20+miles away from where I live] returned my rental vehicle and walked to their location. I arrived at 6:20PM and they were FULLY CLOSED! They KNEW I was on the way to come get my car, yet no one informed me that they were closing. I was stranded out in Lansing for over an hour on the day before Christmas Eve. Oh, and my car was left out in the unsecured parking lot COMPLETELY UNLOCKED. I was mad, I emailed the managers and called them demanding answers but the only communication i got was a phone call the next morning saying that were open on Christmas eve. So I go up and pick up the car and low and behold, 2 days later, more loose lug nuts. I guess someone over there went to tire college and missed lug nut day. Now, I have still yet to have my cluster installed, i have been trying this week to call and get an update on when it was coming in and i have yet to hear back from the service manager, who just happens to never be there.If you have bad credit folks, there are much better options then this.

BEWARE!! This place is a joke! Over priced lemons are all they sell. Don’t be fooled just because you may have bad credit, there are other places that will work with you!!!!! Only gave one star because it wouldn’t let me leave my review without clicking on one! This place is TRASH!!!!!!

Cody the service manager is a pretty good guy and will do what he can for you to try to make things rite with your car if you have any issues with it. He will do the best he can to take care of you even if you dont get the warranty with your car. Ive had a few issues with mine and didnt get the warranty but what problems Ive had with it he has done his best to do the best he could for me and with my car to make it rite. My heater core went out a week ago and made it to were I could afford to have it fixed. Good guy

Me personally I loved how they treated us!! They also took $500 down and let us keep the car.. When we tried to switch the insurance and the company was closed they still let us take the car home for the weekend. I tried going to 2 other places and they wouldnt allow that. So at the same time Im bettering my credit I also got treated good. The agent Sergio Abrigo was wonderful at helping us out, I would definitely recommend coming here especially if your credit is not the best. They try to help as much as they can. Thank you J.D.
