**OIL FIRE HAZARD A WEEK AFTER PURCHASE**I purchased a 2013 Hyundai Sonata from Jay mid-January.Since then Ive had 7 major repairs done. The most dangerous = valve cover leaking oil onto the exhaust manifold which means ENGINE OIL FIRE. Bottles worth of oil has spilled, which could cause a fire. Called Jay & was told this is “completely normal; oil leaks from all the time in cars. Excess just means there was too much oil put in there; once it levels off it’s fine & this has nothing to do with MD inspection). When I questioned him about that cause that’s the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard in my life, he just repeated over and over “well look man I’m not a mechanic.”In a call that I have recorded, I let Jay know the side airbags don’t deploy, the safety belt pretensioner is broken, short block of engine needed replacement, & most importantly there is oil leaking from the ENGINE onto the EXHAUST MANIFOLD. I was told MD doesn’t check any of that(safety belt, airbags, engine, exhaust system)...ACCORDING TO JAY. The “inspection doesn’t check for airbags, the engine, the valve gasket. Nothing is checked apparently. Please avoid this place & dont make the same mistake I did.Also, its been almost 2 months & I still do not have the permanent MD tags I paid for. All the cars on the lot are worthless & this business is completely fraudulent. Dont buy cause of the low prices add 1,000 - 3,000 to the price.

My mom convinced me to drop by and see a car at Potomac Auto after a long and tiring day of car shopping, and I’ll admit I wasn’t in the best mood when I arrived. Well, not only did I find a good car in my (admittedly very frugal) price range, I really appreciated the culture of this dealership. Everything was no-nonsense and the reasoning behind their policies and business practices were clearly explained. Jason, the dealer I worked with, was polite and helpful. My budget was respected here—no one pressured me to look at more expensive cars—and there was a sense of urgency in getting the car ready to get off the lot once I’d decided to buy it. (I especially appreciated this as I was on a quickly narrowing timeline.) They quickly got the car through Maryland state inspection, taking care of everything that needed to be replaced (not much—the car was in pretty good condition). My siblings will need their own cars within the next few years, and I know my mom wants them to check out cars at this dealership. I’d certainly recommend it to anyone looking for used cars on a budget.

No amount of my telling her people sell their car when the repair bill is greater than the car is worth was sticking and I was worried...We started the day at the dealerships, driving new and certified used vehicles. She was definitely not convinced she should spend the extra money for something guaranteed, so I took a new tactic... I figured Id *scare* her with a true used car dealership experience.MOM GOT SCHOOLED! Not only was Potomac Auto very clean and friendly, but they are obviously good at picking cars at auction, too. Minor issues and high mileage, yes. Our test drives felt mechanically sound if a bit rough on the edges. I was keeping her in practical rides with good service histories and then she saw it....A stunning little German ride in blue. Low miles for its age... Priced well, too. She convinced me that was all she wanted - I kept telling her she needed to save at least the purchase price for repairs... she didnt believe me, of course, but agreed anyway.After my last car purchase that took 4 hours, I set aside a morning for us to go buy the car. It took 20 minutes, maybe. Very fast, still very friendly.Jason was our sales guy and he talks with passion about the used car business and finding gems at auction. I felt like I could take him a custom request and hed work with me to find what I wanted out of the auction lists and try to get it.Its been a month now, and she reached out to Jason over an issue and he was extremely responsive and helpful, willing to go an extra mile to make sure she is happy with her purchase.Which she totally is. This place is the worst bought a car here they dont honot or stand by anything they say worst car buying experience ever. Dont waste your money or your time go to a reputable dealer that stands behind the product they are selling. They took my car for 5 days saying they were having it repaired only to be told they couldnt fix it. Then asked to speak to the owner is a mystery person and you can only go through Jay who agreed to fix something wrong with my locks.Which they ended up not fixing because now it is electrical and will costs them more money so they wont cover it. Please be ware these people are super shady I would never recommend them to anyone or ever buy another car from them.

Thanks to Jason & Potomac Autos I now know what NOT to do when buying a car. Less than 2 years later and I’m purchasing a new vehicle after the transmission on a 50k car went out! Most professions believe it was already going out when sold to me! Now I’m here looking for a new car with a loan balance I’m not even halfway into the terms of contract. Will never have my business again, all around sketchy transaction thinking back on it. Took advantage of my desperate need for a car at the time and me being a first time buyer. Save yourself the trouble I’m sure most of the vehicles here are not of quality.

My sister had a terrible experience with Potomac Auto Dealership. While they were selling the 2006 VW car at the asking price of $6,495.00 and after the dealership cost of amounting to $7,500.00, Jason did not tell my sister the truth. He did hide some of the information and eventually the car cost together with the loan and interest went up to $21,000.00. Unfortunately he did not disclose this info to the buyer due to my sisters English problem. She had put down $2,500.00 up front.When she realized that she was falsely misrepresented, she returned the car to Jason but Jason refused to receive the car. Eventually she dropped the car to Potomac and now her credit is in the mess. Jason has not even returned the $2,500.00 back.You have to be careful with the dealership of Potomac like as they can mess your car shopping experience.

I went there few months ago to check a 2016 Toyota Camry which was posted online for a really attractive price, but when I arrived there the car needed a battery and it didnt work till they used a battery jump starter. Then one of the tires was flat so they needed to fill it with air.When the I started the car the engine light was on and when they checked the error code it was something related to the gas tank which could be a small thing and could be also a major one.The guy who works there (I dont remember his name) but he was a Filipino was really helpful, patient and kind.I told him that I would love to buy this car if they had everything fixed before I came even for a higher price but its really disappointing when you go to buy something seeking some peace of mind and you find it stressful to own.Hopefully they change their sales strategies.

The car I was trying to get was only 7,000 they applied for a 19,000$ loan BEWARE, CALL AND VERIFY WITH LOAN COMPANY BEFORE ANY STEPS ARE TAKEN !!!
