Always love stopping in when in Lexington. Their hot pimento cheese is my favorite. I wish it was sold closer to Southern Pines. Picked up a CH coffee mug, some jams and country ham too. Love seeing the old fashioned candy. Reminds me of my Grandparents. Always so nice and good experience.

Cool hometown type of place and super nice folks. Fresh produce, cut to order steaks and good meat selection, homemade canned goods both usual and unique, pimento cheese and lots of other spreads. Will definitely stop by again anytime we drive through the area.

Conrad and Hinkle pimento cheese is not homemade. It is no different than the pimento cheese we purchased at the A&P forty years ago. They do not grind their cheese. It is shredded and tastes so cheaply made. Couldnt eat my sandwich. Avoid if possible and dont waste your money.

I just bought three t-bone steaks yesterday evening from this meat market. Tonight I took them out of the packaging for the first time and not only do they look old and they smell very off. They have a fishy smell to them as well. This is my first time buying from their meat market. Its past 8oclock so I probably wont hear anything from anyone until tomorrow morning ill post and update on how things go but so far Im pretty disappointed. There is no fat in them, the meat is falling apart and they stink. This was suppose to be an anniversary dinner.Update!! So im glad that we decided to do a review about our experience because we would probably have never walked back into Conrad and Hinkle Food mart. The actual owner personally reaching out to us about our recent experience with the meat department, (litterally the next day) and Lee made sure to address our concerns with the upmost integrity and most amazing customer service we have ever received! Its been our experience that small businesses usually dont care if you leave 100% satisfied because their income comes from local loyal customers who have a personal relationship with the owner (usually). Not the case at Conrad and Hinkle, this business truly cares about every single customer that walks through their door, I know because my husband and I have maybe walked in her twice in two years, so they wouldnt even recognize that we live in the area.We appreciated this experience so much that we will definitely be back! Its not every day that you are able to feel your business is TRULY valued by business owners, however this mart shows true Lexington pride and it definitely reflects in how they do business. They are always so nice. Their food is locally sourced and priced great. Their meats are fresher and taste better than Butcher Block. Plus they dont charge you to use a credit card!

An old fashioned store.

I immediately fell in love with the old town feel of the place! But what really blew my mind was the amount of products available that I havent seen since I was a small child! Also, their home grown vegetables, fruits and meats are (and I have to say it) beautiful! Their colors, size, and aromas make you want to pick some up for later enjoyment! Prices are not far from those of bigger stores, but their selection is way more varied with quality products no longer available anywhere else! I loved my first trip to their store and plan to continue doing my business with Conrad & Hinkle Food Market! Happy Centennial birthday, and may you be around for a hundred more years!

It was founded in 1919 and is as popular as ever 100 years later with locals and tourist alike. When visiting uptown Lexington and browsing through the many shops along its streets, be sure to take a few minutes to stop in Conrad & Hinkles and take home some of their famous homemade pimento cheese!

This was our second visit to this old historic supermarket. We loved it so much we made sure we visited again on our vacation. They have the most amazing pimento cheese Ive ever eaten. Also a big variety of meats in their old fashion Meat Market and lots of other fun and good things to eat.

Old fashioned grocery store. They have been in business at this location, since before I was born. Their homemade pimento cheese is a favorite of locals, which was the reason I was there. I also picked up some fresh produce because the quality is good and the pricing was better than other larger grocery stores.

Pimento Cheese and potato salad! Its the only kind Ill eat. Ill only eat chicken salad from here and one other place. They have Neeses bacon which I cant find anywhere else. Youll find a lot of things here that you wont find anywhere else. Very nostalgic.

Saw the store on PBS, so we took a ride. Its about 90 min from Raleigh. The show talked about the homemade chicken salad and pimento cheese spread so we got some. It was ok, but thats all. I didnt really think it was worth the 90 minutes it took to get there.

Best pimento cheese ever for years since I was little. They make it there. Best fresh apples variety bananas. Lots of dryed pintoes, white beans, fresh squash,cabbage, potatoes. What else could you want? Not open on Sunday. In Lexington,NC on Main St. On Dont miss the Candy Factory on Main Street not opened on Sunday either. You with not be sorry.

Our up town home town grocery store where you can get the best home made pimento cheese they also have a butcher shop fresh local vegetables when permitted. I think they even deliver.

Took my 2 grandsons in so they could see what a grocery store used to look like when I was growing up up.They were amazed at the things that they had never seen or eaten before and made me promise to bring them back again do they could try some more foods that were new to them.

Ive been getting my meat and produce here for about 4 years. I love their soups and salads! They carry a lot of locally made products like bread, jelly/jam, and raw honey. Their pimento cheese is the best! The owner and staff are always helpful and friendly in the 4 years that Ive been shopping there I dont think Ive ever carried my groceries out myself which is a great help since Ive got young kids. We love conrad and hinkle!
