I got a CPO 2019 RDX. So far, the experience has been the worst:First, the windshield had a massive crack at the bottom (almost as wide as the windshield). Im happy that they acknowledged and agreed to fix it for me, which is great, but unsure how this crack was overlooked in the CPO process. (the checklist mentioned there were no chips or cracks).Second, I lost power when trying to overtake a vehicle, which put me in a dangerous situation due to a intercooler related recall. This happened twice Dealer ordered parts and says there is no ETA for the intercooler and the windshield.Third, the infotainment has issues with Carplay as my phone wont connect until I restart the car.Lastly, the dealership is highly unresponsive when I try to follow up. They dont respond to my voicemails or when I try to reach them from their website.Overall, I dont feel safe driving this car, but unfortunately, this is the only car I have. The sales experience was good though but after sales not so much.

Their technicians need serious training. Service kept the car twice for total 5-6 days (I think may be more) and still couldn’t fix a small issue and called me both times saying that ‘issue fixed and car ready to go’. No quality check. unbelievably poor experience. Not at all professional. Another Acura service station fixed the issue and returned the car in less than 24 hours.

I was extremely impressed by the sales department at McGrath of Libertyville, especially Juan. Here’s a fact that people in WI don’t realize, vehicles are thousands less in Illinois than WI. The vehicle I bought was well worth the drive and less expensive than what I could buy anywhere in WI.Knowing that I was traveling this distance, Juan had everything totally taken care of for me. He would text me on his day off, letting me know where the car was in the process. His attention to detail and his over the top service makes this dealership a special place.

I bought a new car from this dealer almost three years ago, and have been servicing it there exclusively since. The sales experience was excellent. Whats more important to me is the service department, where this dealership shines. Service happens professionally, on-time, right the first time, courteously and with a smile. My car is my livelihood, and I really appreciate the efforts they go through to keep me rolling.

They didnt have much of a selection when we went. One of the salesmen came out very quickly to help once they saw us outside looking at the vehicles. He was very helpful, answered all the questions and concerns, wasnt pushy to just get a sale and even negotiated with the price. The salesman, Danny E. was very patient with my sister. She had questions and concerns for literally over 5 hours lol + him showing her what the vehicle can do & what all the buttons are for. For her, Danny was much more helpful than the tall white manager that seemed like he was in a rush to get some where and just trying to make a quick sale. The other manager, Hispanic I believe, was very helpful as well. Anyway she was glad to be able to test drive the vehicles and the fact that she was able to buy the plates etc there to avoid the annoying DMV lines. My sister left off the lot with her practically new 2019 SUV Acura all black and was very excited and satisfied. Thank you Danny for your dedication to customers and especially your patience with them.

I recently purchased a pre-owned 2018 Acura RDX here and had a great experience! The sales manager Florian was extremely nice with me, and even after the sale, the dealership honored all that was promised. I also have to say that Gustavo Baca in service is a wonderful person who also was very helpful. Since the vehicle was just traded in, and we bought it late at night, they were not able to prep and certify it. When I brought it back a few days later, I left the car with Gustavo. He assured me everything will be taken care of as far as certifying the vehicle, and addressing some of the items they normally do before putting it on the lot. He even took time for friendly conversation. When I went to pick up the car I had noticed a couple minor things they missed, and Gustavo told me no problem he will personally make sure its done. He sure did! When I went back everything was addressed as promised, and Gustavo even called a couple times afterward to see how I was doing and if everything was satisfactory with my car. I cant say enough about how nice it is to have a follow up like that, and how nice it is when great customer service like this is delivered. I called the dealer and made an appointment to come take a look at a used car. Right when we showed up, we saw other people test driving the car. The manager promised me on the phone that the keys will be at his desk for my arrival.They are dishonest sales men, and our sales guy especially had an attitude and was raising his voice. I lost my temper and left the dealer. I had brought cash for down-payment and everything was ready to go. They missed out on a sale, because they wanted to play their games with me.I dont recommend this dealership. Stay away, run!

Don’t come to this dealership, it would be a big waste of your time. I would give zero stars if I could.We had an MDX that we no longer needed or drove. I went to Kelly Blue Book (KBB) website, and got responses from several “participating” dealers for the vehicle . Since I bought this MDX brand new from Acura of Libertyville (I later learned that it had changed ownership to McGrath), plus the dealership could offer $500-$1,000 more then the KBB number, I made an appointment to see a Jeremy E., sales manager.At McGrath, however, their appraisal was even much lower than KBB’s. I was appalled because currently used cars are in great demand, my MDX’s mileage was considerably lower than average, and albeit subjective, I took very good care of the vehicle. To exacerbate the matters, Jeremy didn’t even have the courtesy to speak with me in person to explain the enormous discrepancy between theirs and KBB’s figures. McGrath’s offer was so ridiculous and insulting that I instantly walked out of the dealership.A few days later, I sold the MDX at another dealership for several thousand dollars more than McGrath’s offer, and that’s a monumental vindication of McGrath’s spoof.

This is by far the most unethical car dealership I have ever worked with. On two separate occasions they gave me a written offer for my trade and a new vehicle and refused to honor it when I got to the dealership. They love to play the bait and switch game. Also, the Sales Rep that greeted us when we got there did not know the difference between an RDX and an MDX. Bogus dealership, go to Bob Rorhman Acura in Palatine instead.

I bought a BMW 328xi from the dealership. The sale price in window was in correct when we got there. The staff was friendly and the dealership was very clean. Getting to test drive the car was very easy and quick as I also called ahead. Why this wasnt a 5 star review may seem like a small reason but is something in customer service at a dealership I would expect even on the lowest level. While doing our transaction we overheard that a different couple had bought a car and when asked if they had filled the tank “its at a quarter tank” and that “ they were fine with that”. After being at the dealership for around 4-5 hours we got to leave in the car with less then a quarter tank. Its a real nickel and dime but it does not make you feel good leaving in a car you just bought to go right to the gas station and fill it up. Overall it was a nice dealership and experience but not a great way to leave and have to find the nearest gas station.

I cant begin to tell you what an awesome experience my wife and I had with McGrath Acura of Libertyville. They got me a loaner while they replaced a defective strut and installed a new battery and picked-up our car last night 01/13/21. The best part of our experience was when I received a call from our point person in the service dept, Lenny, and said that I had forgotten my coat in the backseat of the loaner. We were but 2 minutes from our home in Morton Grove and was about to return to Libertyville when Lenny offered to drop-off my coat on his way home that same night! We were dumbfounded... I mean, who does this going the extra mile for their client in this day and age where its me. me, me first.Well, I got my coat and my wife and I truly appreciate the kindness Lenny had shown us and we are thankful!Thank you, Lenny and God bless you.Mr. and Mrs. Palomar (2 seniors from Morton Grove)

Very nice dealer. Had no problems buying a used car from them. Everything was fast and easy. I recommend Justin F. He was very helpful with buying my car. Other dealers in the area seem to waste so much time that I just didnt have the patience for. Everyone at the dealer had their masks on and had plenty of hand sanitizer available.

Took about 3.5 hrs to get the vehicle I wanted, Im very pleased with the transaction.Edit : turns out Oslyn( finance lied to me about what my preappre-app rate was( she said they worked with Baxter Credit Union often and were able to verify their rates . Upsold me on an extended warranty for $3800..I didnt expect a dealership like theirs to lie directly to my face ( I found out all this when I spoke to my loan officer at BCU ) also, they lost the other key to my vehicle they said they had back in service..Now I have to go get one programmed on my time and gas this weekend (40 minute drive 1 way)Also they didnt provide any paperwork at the end of the sale ( my fault for not demanding it, I had to get home to my son), just a thumb drive that had corrupted files ..Needless to say Ill not recommend and will refinance asap

The short...Drive down the road to the next place.The long...So full disclosure, I did NOT buy my car from here. I did however deal with them at length trying to help out my nanny after they fleeced her and her husband. She is European and speaks English well, but not perfect, and has trouble understanding. Her husband is an elderly stroke victim who confuses easily. The salesmen and finance team were all too happy to rob these two since they offered little defense against the above average dealership shenanigans. As with anywhere there are good and bad people. This is no different. The location manager is a level headed business-minded pleasure to work with. He offered to undo much of the unfair parts of the deal.Ultimately, my problem with this dealership is that they seem to encourage deceitful practices that border predatory. I would especially stay away from the finance department. One gentleman there simply should not be working with the public. He is mean natured and seems to enjoy outsmarting his unsuspecting victims. I have bought many cars and have never had an experience like dealing with this place.Judge for yourself if you feel like wasting the time. Buying a car is tough. Good luck. You wont ever find me or my family in a McGrath.

Two years ago, I walked into the dealership knowing exactly what I wanted. Seriously, all they had to do was sell me the car. I got there first thing in the morning, test drove the RDX I was looking at, and confirmed that was what I wanted. With A+ credit and 10k down, this ended up being hands down the longest, most awful finance experience of my life. It’s not that it was hard or that there were any snags, but I was there from the time they opened until the time they closed. Here recently, I have since sold my RDX. As a result, I needed to cancel my Gap Coverage. I am five days short of one month of trying to contact their finance manager, and none of my messages were ever returned. It’s amazing what asking for a General Manager can do. While on the phone finally with the finance manager, he proceeded to tell me Gap coverage can’t be backdated, it’s only going to be about $100 and probably isn’t really worth it after the cancellation fee, etc. I told him he was wrong and I knew he was wrong and he said he would talk to the GM and get back to me the next day. Well, today is that next day and I heard nothing back. So, I called Ethos Group who carries their Gap Coverage AGAIN and cancelled my coverage, even though this is the job of the dealership. They were completely professional, kind, and understanding and apologized for McGrath’s shortcomings endlessly. I should be receiving a check back in the amount of $363.10 after the cancellation fee is deducted, and that’s a far cry from the less than $100 their finance manager told me I would be getting... and he is the numbers guy!!! Now I just have to wait for McGrath to cut me my check after Ethos Group sends the money back to them, which should be another 4-6 weeks. I don’t think I will hold my breath.

Julie Jones was the best (sales woman). Great follow-up and response time. Always willing to help show me the ends and outs of my new vehicle. Fiance dept was easy to work with and not overally pushy with extra market sales. Took 3 weeks to close the deal even with me coming in with my own financing. But, I was able to drive my new vehicle home regardless of the hang-ups with my bank. Would highly recommend. Great vehicles and great price.

This was a 50k mistake I made and would advice you to avoid making!Everyone are very nice when you buy the car but will not return your calls when there is an issue! The finance manager, who did my paperwork, was terminated but that doesn’t change the fact that his dishonesty and his lies cost me thousands of dollars!!!

I noticed a BEAUTIFUL ACURA MDX at this dealership for an excellent price.I contacted the dealership and was forwarded to a salesman. I corresponded with this salesman for about a week with inquiries about the vehicle.Since we live almost 300+ miles away I wanted to get as much information as possible before deciding to drive there to purchase.The sales guy and finance guys were very very pushy about financing they them, although I informed them all on several occasions that I stay had financing.I asked many questions about the vehicle and one of my main concerns was that the carfax has absolutely no maintenance service history on it which was surprising but since it was a leased vehicle We assumed that the maintenance was up to date plus it has be Certified thru this dealership so I was kind of comfortable.I had been asked several times about financing so I decided to fill out the online application thinking maybe they could get me a better deal. Immediately after filling out the application I received a call from my CU and was informed that I had received the interest rate I wanted so I immediately call the dealership and tell them not to run a credit check because I was going to use my credit union at which time they told me that was fine.My husband and I make the decision to take the ride up to purchase the vehicle. We picked up the check from the CU and hit the highway.We make it to the dealership and are immediately given to a different sales guy.This man, I believe his name was Ernest, was extremely helpful and very knowledgeable about the vehicle. He walks us to the vehicle for a visual inspection and test drive. While he is explaining the features of the vehicle my husband is doing his walk around and checking the vehicle out.So off we go for the test drive. The first thing I noticed is how sluggish the engine was. I had drive a couple of other MDX’s previous to this and they had a lot of pick up but this one was really sluggish, I really had to press the excellarator to get it to move. Once we got back to the dealership my husband and I sat privately and when I’ve the issues with the car.First of the vehicle had a huge dent in the metal frame work above the fire in the drivers side, there were minor scratches on the passenger door and rear of vehicle, the hood is the vehicle was off as if the vehicle has some how had the body twisted, the sun roof was out of alignment also and there was a lot of rust on the underbody of the car.After my husband began to point all of these issues out to me I was disgusted. There is no way all of these things were wrong with this vehicle and no one in the dealership was aware of it. To allow someone to drive the distance we drive without informing them of the issues with the vehicle was and is very unprofessional. We decided against the purchase and will be turning the check back in tomorrow to the CU. Once the salesman and finance people (not Ernest) realize we were purchasing that vehicle they immediately began trying to pick us into a much more expensive car. It was disgusting and the rust sales tactics I’ve ever seen.The one thing I hate about buying a vehicle at a dealership is the unsavory tactics used to make a purchase but to have someone drive this distance without disclosing the true condition of a vehicle goes beyond sleezeball it’s just plain gutter tactics.And to top it all off the day before we arrived the dealership made the decision on these own to run my credit although I had personally spoken with Chris and informed him not to and who agreed not to.This is a very shady dealership.I’ve seen other vehicles at the other dealerships own by the same folks but I’m afraid to contact them because they may all be just as shady.

We had a great experience buying a used car at McGrath Acura - a pristine (for its age) white Mercedes ML 350 that was to be a gift to our daughter. Julie Jones was the Sales Rep and she was OUTSTANDING throughout what was a pretty fast moving process. We found the car through Google Marketplace and did the majority of our communication through that platform. Julie was hyper responsive to our numerous questions. We live 5 hrs south, so we couldnt come see the car in person until we were quite certain we would purchase. Again, we had lots of questions, Julie patiently answered them all. She even took quite a few additional pictures of things we could not see in the original online photos. When things got tricky at the end due to our remote location, Julie (& the dealership) were willing to work with me to find a solution to hold the car until I could get up there to finish all of the paperwork. Thanks Julie - you really helped us pull off the ultimate b-day present for our daughter!

I never thought I would be writing a five star review for a car dealership or salesmen.I had spent months researching and test driving vehicles, so once I started shopping, I knew exactly what I wanted. I had pre-approval from my credit union as well.After dealing with dealerships that rely on strong arm tactics and manipulation-what a surprise to walk into McGrath. The whole staff was friendly, professional, courteous and low keyed.My salesperson-Chris Fricano went above and beyond. He listened when I said I was there to see one specific car and after a few preliminary questions, he had it pulled up front to show me the features and test drive it. He never tried to over sell the car, he didnt blast the radio or chatter on during the test drive-I could actually listen to how the car sounded and focus on how it handled. He answered all my questions. If he didnt know an answer, he went and found out.When we got down to closing the deal, my credit union hit a snag as the local branch closes early on Fridays during the summer and they got the loan all set but didnt get the check processed. I resigned myself to starting again on Monday. But no....Chris went to his supervisor. DJ gave me a call and explained he had spoken to the person handling my loan at the credit union and knew the loan was good-so I could pick up the car. I told them it would take me a bit as I would need to get an Uber or see if a friend could drop me off...nope- Chris came and picked me up!!!!!The paperwork took less time than I have ever had to deal with buying a vehicle. Chase, in the finance department, made sure I understood what I was signing. They did my registration, put plates on the car and there I was on Friday evening driving home in my new car.McGrath and the entire Libertyville staff I dealt with were a breath of fresh air in car buying. Thank you for being professional, friendly, low key and most of all for listening and not attempting to manipulate me.

It was so easy to deal with the team via email. They hage me an out the door price right away and helped me with everything I asked about.Out of at least 15 dealerships I contacted this was one of the few that actually gave me an outright out the door price on the car WITHOUT adding fraudulent dealer fees! These FAKE fees are called different things like dealer fee, power pack, inspection fee, and other things and all it does is raise the actual price of the car by those fees. The other dealerships post a price of $15000 but with those fees the car actually costs 1700 BUT Schumburg Honda does not do this, they are 100% transparent and give you out the door price at the beginning.

He was so kind and professional and walked us through the whole process. Traveled 2.5 hours and bought a used vehicle on a Saturday near the end of day. Vehicle fuel was empty, they told me the person with fuel card was gone for the day and they would send $50 gift card. After 4 phone calls leaving voice messages because they ware not available and one phone conversation with the General Manager who assured me they would send gift card, I still have not received card. They were very good during the purchase process but apparently once they have your money they dont care! BEWARE, do not trust that they will follow through after the sale!

Not a good experience at all. Drove 3 hours to McGarth to buy a used car. They said they’d have it ready for me. Got there and test drove it, said I’d buy it, then they took the keys and let someone else test drive it AFTER me then almost let them buy the car while I was sitting there waiting. The manager kept telling me he would sell me the car, but they HAD to let the other party test drive it first. After 3 hours of hassle I still decided to buy the car. Literally in the drive home the ac compressor goes out so bad and so fast that it must have been “quick fixed” before the sale. Tire pressure sensor goes on on the way home too. Was reset just prior to me purchasing so the light wouldn’t be on. Still on the way home the wheel house liner rips free due to not having clips put in it and gets stuck above tire and melts. Definitely the hackiest place I’ve EVER purchased a car at. 2/10, would never recommend. There’s no way they inspected the vehicle before hand for the sale.

Excellent service. Bought a used car and they treated us like we were buying a brand new $70k car. Special thanks to Tony, Ernie, Juan and Joe. Great team. I didnt even take the car to another mechanic to test. I felt a sense of trust and loyalty to customer satisfaction. Of course when you get that you have to reciprocate. Thats how trust works. They took care of every issue I had on the spot. I had problems with other dealers so this was just a pleasure. I have never actually had a good time buying a used car. I cannot express how happy my wife and I are with our purchase and I do not mean just the car. The overall experience is what makes it a great deal.

I am really excited to share my views once more about this place . 🤗 Me and my girlfriend went to look at a BMW and we were Greeted at the front door by a wonderful employee by the name of Alex Sanchez. I believe He had just started I knew position at that job but I can tell that McGrath was very professional for training him and he is phenomenal for learning the McGrath way. I never believe in dealerships because the theory is that they always try to talk you into just getting a car Even a Watch you don’t need but that wasn’t the case with this specific dealership. Alex gave me and my girl a wonderful presentation and we didn’t walk out without that car. He then directed us over to a loan officer that found me a great package . It doesn’t matter where in Illinois you reside if you ever need to purchase a car take the trip to McGrath Libertyville first its worth the trip. Five star service thanks Alex and McGrath

The other 1-star reviews here make sense. We showed up with a check already written to purchase a car. The terrible experience with the sales team (Matt, in particular) literally made us walk away. Matt was incredibly rude, inconsiderate and just down right disrespectful. I haven’t felt so un-valued as a customer in my entire life. Will never be coming back to this establishment and will actively be encouraging everyone I know to do the same.

McGrath Acura of Libertyville was an excellent experience! I went there three times to test drive the vehicle (with different people) and was able to bring it to a mechanic so he can inspect the vehicle. Juan helped me the first day and the last when i actually bought the vehicle. He was amazing and very knowledgeable! He even helped me learn a good amount about the vehicle before i drove off. Despite the car pulling heavy to the right originally, the staff went above and beyond by not only fixing it but with brand new rims and tires. The staff across the board were phenomenal. Bought a car from McGrath Acura in Libertyville from a sales guy by the name of Sean Brady. The car was missing a part that Sean was promising to provide me after the sale and told me that the part was bought and shipped to my house. We bought the car on February 22, I called him on March 4 and he asked for a pic of the car and that part needed and he said again that he bought the part and shipped to my house. It’s April 27 and never got the part yet. Customer service from Sean is 1/10 and the only thing that was important too him was the sale and nothing else. Now when we call him he ignore the call even thought Sean is the manager of the dealership. we can the dealership and the secretary telling us that Sean will call back but he never does. DONT BUY FROM SEAN BRADY

Initially I had no intentions of purchasing a car. My son and I were just trying to waste time while our car was being serviced. We walked the lot for a bit and Shane Lyon came out to introduce himself. I told him from the start that I was only looking because my car was being serviced. He never made me feel pressured just made himself available if I wanted anything.When we did decide to test drive a car he made sure that the car was safe to drive; actually spent 10 minutes assuring the tire pressure was safe.At no time did I feel pressured to buy a car. Shane made both my son and I feel at home. Drove 5.5 hrs to buy a preowned vehicle. Deal went smooth, nice friendly staff, quick and easy purchase. Not long after leaving the lot, a fluke combined with bad timing put us in a sticky situation by no fault of the dealership. One call to them and they accommodated us with a tow back to the lot, and fixed the issue before wishing us safe travels back home.
