He helped me take a good look into my options, was honest and straightforward about the value of my trade-in and what they had in the lot, and most importantly landed me in exactly the kind of car I wanted (a sweet Jeep Wrangler Unlimited). One of the best dealers I’ve done business with! Seriously, I was car shopping for about a month and this was one of the only dealers that didn’t try any of the annoying car dealer scams or taking advantage of the market to gouge its customers. I had just come from Napaleton Subaru in Palatine where they were trying to charge 4K above sticker and wouldn’t budge. I called Liberty and they gave me a no nonsense deal, I didn’t have to haggle, there was no pressure to buy, and I didn’t have to deal with unnecessary aftermarket dealer accessories, and the sales staff were incredibly nice. Ask for Charles when you get there, one of the nicest salespersons I’ve had the pleasure to buy from.
We have purchased a few vehicles with Liberty Auto City through the years, but never have I ever had an experience like I am currently having with Vanessa Mhango. This is a wild time to try to purchase a new car, and Vanessa has been kind, prepared, and knowledgeable in each step so far. When we began the process we had been into a couple of other dealers and were immediately shown the door, HOWEVER Vanessa greeted us with a smile and treated us as close friends since the second we stepped on the lot. She was patient while working with me to find the best fit for my needs. It was a bonus that she was able to help with both Jeep and Suburu options that I was interested in, and gave me the perfect amount of space while making the decision. Vanessa has been upfront as to what to expect in the coming weeks, and she is the epitome of class. This is the first time I’ve ever ordered a vehicle, and she made the process exciting and easy. My lease with Subaru was up yesterday so I came in to return my car and get a new one. Just like the last time I came here, the process was smooth and quick without feeling rushed. James and Damian were super helpful with getting us the best deal and, despite the shortage, I was able to take home a new car today! Signing the lease with Miguel took no time and was very clear. Before leaving, the person with whom I leased my last Subaru, Rich, came out to speak with us and remembered us from 3 years ago. Everyone here is so personable and they really make buying/leasing a car as fun as it should be :)

We recently bought a 2021 Subaru Crosstrek from Liberty Auto City. Charles P. Was our sales person and he was really great, so was Micheal G. Who walked us thru everything on the car, everyone we dealt with was friendly and helpful. The car arrived a month ahead of when promised. We have not one negative thing to say about Liberty Auto Sales or their staff. They appear to really care that you are happy with them and your purchase and do follow ups. We would not hesitate to recommend them to friends and family.

Worst experience ever. I came in with a friend who brought in his 4 year old subaru with a check engine light. My friend already knew that it was a transmission solenoid issue by using his cheap code reader, but wanted to double check with subaru mechanics as they are supposed to have better testing equipment and knowledge of their vehicles. He was told by the service adviser that he needed a new transmission valve body and harness because one of the solenoids was faulty and it is part of the valve body. We were quoted 2000 dollars and were told that this job can only be done at the dealership because the transmission would need to be reprogrammed. My friend took the car home, ordered the correct solenoid online for 100 dollars and replaced it himself within 2 hours. Obviously the solenoid was available separate from the valve body, the harness was not needed, and no programming was required. Either the service advisor or the mechanic lied or they are on it together, a quest to rip off the customer with expensive and unnecessary repairs. Yet they still have the nerve to charge $150 for diagnostic fee.
I bought a used 2018 Subaru Impreza with an open recall from a dealership in Skokie. I work in Libertyville, so I dropped off the car at this dealership so the recall could be repaired.A couple hours after dropping the car off, the man working on my car called me, claiming that in addition to the recall, my car needed a laundry list of other work done, totaling around $2000. This included brakes, which the man insisted needed to be done since my brake pads were at 2-3mm. I was skeptical since I knew that the car had somewhat recently had work done (including brakes), so I denied service and asked for them to just to the recall.Well, this answer did not suffice. The man insisted that I at least get the brakes done since it was dangerous for me to drive. At this point, I had to continue to refuse service multiple times while he was seemingly trying to guilt me into agreeing into the service. It was very uncomfortable for me.When I picked up my car, the badgering continued. He insisted showing me the model of brake pads and where my car was at, even though I stated that I knew what brake pads looked like and was aware of what he was telling me. Maybe he didnt believe me because I am a woman? A young woman? Not sure. But at this point, I felt he was trying to take advantage of me, and thats the only reason I can come up with.Fast forward to this week, I brought the car to my local trusted mechanic. He told me my car is in great shape, and even asked me where I got it from! When I inquired about the brakes, this mechanic stated that they had 40-50% of their life left and could safely go a bit longer. Completely opposite of what the Subaru Dealership told me.I am not sure if I was treated this way due to my age and gender, but if you are a young woman: beware of them taking advantage of you. If you dont want work done, stick with it. They will push you regardless of what you say.
My husband and I had a fabulous experience working with Ron, our sales consultant. He was easy to talk with and helped us find the exact Forester we were looking for. The show room was welcoming and well-managed (including an adherence to mask protocol). We also appreciated the patient and thorough tech overview Peter provided to help us understand and set up our various options. Everyone we interacted with throughout was pleasant and enthusiastic, making for a great car-buying experience.

Craig Hubers the man and was no nonsense to deal with! Cant express how refreshing that is to deal with compared to the typical experience. Other than that the service was solid, the rest of the staff was equally easy to work with, and I have nothing even small to complain about. Went in today to buy a car which should’ve been a very simple thing. No bank would finance the deal(not due to my credit) but to the fact the car I was buying was 2 grand over what it was actually worth. Seven inquires later, 3 hours wasted and a bunch of frustration. I wouldn’t waste my time trying to but a used vehicle from here. WAY over priced.

I am adding a shout out to Jim Gray in the Service Dept. Theres an old adage that while the sales team sells the 1st car, its the service team that sells the 2nd. This is 100% true of Jim. On my old car he kept me apprised of service recommendations, what was needed now and what could wait and gave me helpful advice on new models.I purchased a new Jeep from Liberty Auto City in Libertyville largely due to the excellent handling from Mario Gentry and Armi Matienzo. They were patient and non-confrontational and worked with me to get a good deal in a straightforward manner. Armi provided numbers to me upfront on pricing, put me in touch with the right people for questions and kept the communication lines open when things stalled. Mario was very knowledge about technical and commercial issues and handled our negotiations in a professional and pleasant manner. Max Vuotto and Adrian Tellez were also helpful in explaining specs and features and Nicole Dupass in Finance made it easy to complete the final paperwork, explaining the options for add-ons in a balanced way and without high pressure sales tactics.
My husband and I have owned 2 Subaru’s to date. The only reason we were looking to get a different one yesterday was to increase the towing capacity after our recent purchase of a small rv. I buy cars all day every day! I run a car buying service, but RARELY do I leave a review for a dealer. I usually leave that up to my client, but today is different!After a client had a sudden change of heart, and decided to go Subaru - I had to go back to the drawing board, and I had less than 12 hours to make this happen!I called 7 local stores, and was getting the run around on out the door numbers, playing with taxes, etc. Then - I got introduced to James Flores! Overall, a good place to buy a Subaru. I bought my Sub about 6 years ago and was satisfied. In retrospect, Id skip the extended warranty; waste of money. After all these years, Id think that it would still be in effect, but due to my ignorance, I realize it expired some years ago. I only got it because I wasnt certain about the CVT. It turned out to be fine.The service desk has been very polite and thorough. Sometimes they have been responsive to returning calls, but those times have been rare.Just be aware how car dealerships work, where their profits are; understand that and know when/how to say NO to an offer or service.Im still getting offers to trade in my car, now paid off, for a new one. I see this as more humorous than a hassle.
I was extremely happy with my experience at Liberty Auto City. Damian worked very hard finding the exact car I wanted and was a pleasure to work with. Rich, the sales manager, had great communication with me also helping me during the process. I never felt pressure there and will definitely be referring them to my family and friends.

My wife and I needed a larger vehicle for our growing family, and given the current state of everything with the pandemic and chip shortages, the team(Charles Perchak, Peter Golebiak, Rich OCOnnor, and James Flores were a pleasure to work with. They went above and beyond to make sure we were happy and even worked with us on pricing where all other dealers were only offering MSRP for their vehicles. They expedited the process as quickly as possible considering we had our 2 year old with us that was a handful.
I always dread the dealership, but I was very pleasantly surprised by my 5 star experience at Liberty. We got our price before going in, the car was ready and there were no surprises when we signed. Michael was great answering our questions and getting out paperwork taken care of quickly.

Called to confirm the car I want is still available, got there in 24 mins was asked to wait, 15 mins later told it was just sold. They tried to up sell told me there are other cars in the lot. Old bait and switch, dishonest and deceptive practice. Do not do business here unless you want to be taken advantage of.
I ordered a Subaru part from Liberty Auto online and was told it was on back order for up to 30 days. After calling the parts department, I was told my order would remain active. 3 weeks later I found out they cancelled my order without telling me and said I should reorder. Terrible service!!

I would never purchase a car from this dealership. Staff was disruptive to the point we couldnt hear our salesperson because of the laughing and giggling going on. Couldnt get out the front door for the same reason. Our salesperson was cranky and was put out by our questions. Sales Manager was too aggressive and condescending and never came to meet us until it looked like the sale was going to fall through.
Bought a car I wanted for years here, but the break light came on the NEXT DAY. So I took it back and it needed a new caliper, which they quickly fixed.A WEEK after I got my car back the whole engine blew out!!! Its been almost 40 days since I took it in and they told me it would be covered under the warranty.However, now any time I try to talk to someone about it, either Im told I need to talk to someone else, I’ll get a call back (barely), or the person isnt there. I basically get dismissed, and have been for weeks now.Just today I was told it was put on a hold after getting transferred from person to person again, but that they didn’t have any more information and told me I need to talk to yet another person who isnt there.How hard is it to let the customer know what is going on with their car? It would atleast be nice to get ahold of someone who knows whats happening?? I have never had repairs take so long, even jumping through warranty’s hoops.The only reason I didn’t give 1 star is because the kid that sold me the car was super nice, helpful, and patient with me. But other than that, I haven’t even gotten to drive my own car longer than a week since I bought it. I bought it mid March. Its now May.

I had the pleasure of being assisted by Charles Perchak for sales and Miguel Hernandez with finance.I originally called Liberty Auto just to check out and test drive the Crosstrek model. But after working with Charles I came home with a Subaru on my first day of car shopping. The experience was no pressure and the team was very open with working with me on an amicable pricing. Once we got set on the price, I was assisted by Miguel for the financing portion. He was very honest and open with the process and was able to get me a great rate on financing as well as a good deal on the warranty.I highly recommend buying from this dealership, most specifically Charles Perchak. Do not give them your information. I was searching for cars about a month ago and wanted to see about a Subaru from this dealer. I visited their site ONCE. I then get immediate phone calls and emails which is common from car dealerships- no big deal. However, one of the salesmen that talked to me over the phone asked me to contact him back with a time and date that I would be available for an appointment. A few moments later I get a text from him telling me when our appointment is, and hell be expecting me! Needless to say, I did not show up to the appointment that he created for me without my consent. Now, weeks after I already bought a new car from a different dealer, I am STILL getting daily phone calls and emails from them. I know this is not uncommon for car dealerships to do, but they do not quit. I have told them I already bought a car multiple times. But somehow a new person that works for them gets ahold of me. Now I am declining every phone call from libertyville because I know its one of them trying to talk to me. The manager (Brooklynn) just now tried to call me after 8pm, I know it was her because she sent me an email right after I declined her call. I swear it doesnt matter how many of their phone numbers or email addresses I block, they have so many that it doesnt matter. At first this was just a slight annoyance, but now I am so upset with them, I will never consider even visiting them in person or recommending them to anyone else.
Go see Victor! Hes a genius getting you in the car you want and deserve. I cant say enough positive things about my experience with this dealership on a snowy December night!

The staff helped us to find the right car by listening to our really specific needs and using that information to inform their suggestions. Arriving at the right vehicle was a snap thanks to the expert team of Elmer, Craig and Charles, while Celeste was an absolute godsend when figuring out the financials. Also, I commend Liberty Auto City for providing an environment that made me feel comfortable purchasing a car in-person during the time of CV.

WOW! The dealership was easy to deal with...low pressure, knowledgeable, helpful, and David Pacheco knew exactly where to go to show me some possible choices when I told him what I was looking for.Subaru themselves have also under-promised and over-delivered with the Crosstrek, IMO. I was contemplating a pre-owned Toyota Corolla hatch or a Lexus CT200H, both of which also use CVTs to get around 40MPG hwy.Instead...I got AWD with respectable clearance, a sturdy roofrack, 1500lb towing capacity, no expensive hybrid components to sweat, a selection of aftermarket goodies to shop, a Carfax with service records, some boxer-motor character...and still around 40MPG. The pre-owned 2016 2.0L/CVT model with sunroof and foglights that I bought at Liberty has been fantastic for my 52-mile commute so far.Liberty detailed this Crosstrek so well that the engine compartment and undercarriage were clean, while this cars interior looked new...at 60K miles. The exterior is rust-free, and Im going to bedliner a bit of it to prep for the harsh recreational use Im planning...overlanding, and hauling mtn bikes, snowboards, surfboards, dirtbikes, canoes, etc. What a great little versatile car from a dealership that was pleasant to buy from!

The experience of purchasing the Subaru was great. It’s when you need an issue solved that they ignore your calls and won’t call back. It is very disappointing.

Ive been looking for a new Forester with super challenging color, trim, packages and options combination for over a month now.I ended up not purchasing from Liberty Auto City (LAC) due to this challenge. I ended up needing to go out-of-state to find the sweet car.However, James flores and Adriana Oseguera of LAC were delightful, hard working, always ready and quick to answer all my questions. I shopped pretty hard and was originally set on a Forester for my wife and basically went to a local dealer ready to purchase, but my wife said to me, l want to drive the Forester and Outback one more time to be sure. So off we went and after 5 minutes in the new 2020 Outback, she was in love and I had to switch gears on short notice. Long story short, the original dealer was willing to work with me but only to an extent, so I went shopping. I found a superior deal from Libertys Sales Manager Mary, whom I dealt with directly. (always a good idea to go straight to a decision maker). We made the deal actually right over the phone, gave a security deposit and showed up the next day for delivery with the exact car and color the Mrs. wanted. Craig, who handled the final sale and paperwork was professional, friendly and caring. It was the end of the month and they were busy, but the measure of good service is when the stress is up but the cream is still rising to the top. The only downside was Steve in Finance, who seemed like he would like to be anywhere but in this job and acted like it. Not terrible, but definitely off. The showroom was spotless and the help with all the gadgets by their expert in this was great, with a followup scheduled to fill in the blanks. All in all, I would recommend Liberty to a friend or family member.
Very old-school sleazy business practices. taking advantage of language differences. charge more than cost of car, and no I do not mean dealer fees and financing and processing fees. . slick dirty salesman know what they are doing and do it well, but cheat you out of money is what they do. Its 2021 global pandemic this business practice not fly anymore. thats not your money, no matter what lemgth u jave gone to make it true in your mind deep down u know its wrong. that was my money. they trick people I trusted them
Sent car info & ordered the part. Got the part & it wasnt the right one. Tried to return it to get the right part & they wouldnt refund or exchange it. $100 lost.
Came here for a second key for my current vehicle. We’re extremely helpful and kind after visiting few other stores. As I was waiting for service Paul and Mario made sure everything was being taken care of and somehow they gave me a deal I couldn’t refuse and bought a brand new vehicle. Professional, knowledgeable and NO PACKAGES OR FEES OR NONSENSE HERE. Thank you guys

These guys are amazing. I have an older Subaru and had a problem with an intermittent noise that I couldn’t reproduce when I brought it in. They went above and beyond to diagnose and repair my car when it would have been easy to say they couldn’t find it. Excellent customer service and repair work. I some have experience with sales here, but the body shop & service department are great. Justin in particular is a real asset. Ive found him to be trustworthy & does everything he can to be helpful; not because he has to, but because its his nature.

I was very impressed with Victor’s service in selling me a new Jeep Renegade. I highly recommend visiting Liberty Auto and asking for him if you are in the market for a Chrysler or Jeep.
The room where we completed the paperwork was the only enclosed room and was a small room. The person who completed the paperwork would not wear his mask properly. He had a thin cloth mask over his mouth, but not his nose and he did not practice social distancing. The mask is to protect customers from a very contagious disease that has a high fatality rate. His caviler approach to keeping us safe did not reflect well on the business.This was in contrast to the rest of the staff we worked with.The usual waiting let me talk to my manager games that happen in a dealership happened here. Overall good.

I had an absolutely wonderful buying experience here. I went in knowing I wanted an Ascent and was positive I would be leaving in a new car. I worked with Charles and he was by far the best salesman I have worked with. He was very outgoing and made small talk the whole time we were there. He even paid attention to my baby and gave him a stuffed Subaru to take home! I researched Ascents for days and traveled from Kenosha to Liberty to get the car. The buying experience here compared to Subaru in Kenosha was drastically different in a good way!
Worst service of my life. Parts department is awful, they do not stand behind their service. Sold me a non working part two times. After that they acted like I was trying to return a used part. Ive also heard that the techs their sabotaging customers cars just to get other techs fired. A real circus dont spend your money here.
My wife bought her car here and they have always taken great care of her.

This is our second Subaru purchase from Liberty Subaru. On 2 Feb we purchased a 19 Legacy from Charles. Started the transaction on 1 Feb which made the purchase on 2 Feb easier. The purchase experience at Liberty was great. The purchase was no nonsense without stress. Charles is a great salesman. He listened to me and answered my questions. The delivery process with Peter was also very good. Overall very happy! Also thanks to Elmer for receiving a discount on a accessory we purchased for our new Legacy.

My wife bought her Legacy from Charles and now her mom just bought a crosstrek from Charles. Very helpful! The only reason I didnt give 5 stars is b/c of waiting time and they lost the initial check we signed, but they replaced it by giving us the cost it would take to cancel the check and write another one. Highly recommended for anyone that is in search of service and a Subaru.
Went in for a recall & oil change. When I called to set up the appointment I was told it would take 3 hours. It took less then two. Also like that they have outdoor seating available.
I purchased my Crosstrek today and had a great experience. Ron in sales and Tim in finance (as well at the rest of the staff) were great! They answered all my questions and explained every step of the process. I would not hesitate to recommend Liberty Subaru!
