Due to upcoming travel plans, my car needed an oil change, tire rotation, and brake inspection. After a few very disappointing visits to some auto shops, at 1:30pm this afternoon, I decided to go with my friend’s referral to work with G & R Auto Repair in Libertyville, IL. I am very happy and impressed with the owner’s (Carl Grier) honesty and can-help attitude. They did a great job fulfilling my urgent request and did the job properly. Grateful to have a trustworthy mechanic to help with my vehicles. Carl has never let me down and has always given me both good guidance and good car repair. Like others, been coming to Carl for years and have always been pleased. He took some time this morning to run a diagnostic and asked me some questions in his peel back the onion approach as he will first try and diagnose simpler causes and go from there. Lost my serpentine belt. Needed a tow in. The tow truck fellow was great and low cost as well. Three jobs ahead of me. Only about an hour wait, repaired in less than 20 minutes and my diesel truck left their shop and took me home. Wish they were closer.

I went in because many people I know and trust recommended I give this place a try. I had a quote for about $1000 to fix the air conditioning in my Jeep, bu G&R got it working perfectly for around $100. They do great work, are as honest as can be, and only do what you need to get the job done.For guys like me that dont know much about cars, this is the place. Truck broke down on 94, called a bunch of different repair shops. These guys were by far the most helpful! Got me in immediately so I could get back to work. The cost of the repairs were very fair especially considering how accommodating they were.
