Store always has a vast variety of items to choose from. Their 🍓🍑s are always surprisingly fresh and cheap cheap cheap!. Dare I say, sorry other places ( I wont say names, just sayin...) better than the other places. Staff has the store clean, organized and on point. Crew that works there are a colorful set of people who are modeling proper Covid-19 procedures. Very personable,but yet exercise safety first for us which is much appreciated

Just a poor experierce. Sad really. Was present with my attendant that day. Cashier rang up order incorrectly, refused discount that was visibly posted, correct tag etc. Told mgr to void the order and she re-rang it. Then proceeded to call me a liar when I had repeated the request, which my attendant witnessed. No disabled person ( or anyone for that matter!) should EVER be subjected to such treatment. Hopefully I was just there on a bad day (????????????????) 😂

So... tonight I didnt feel like making a big dinner, do to cleaning my home and getting rid of xmas items. I was thinking I can just make some chili dogs for my family.(something fast, filling and simple) I had sent my dad to go grab me so buns from Dollar General it the only store that is close to my home. I had severed my 8 year old and father food. Than I sat down to eat and I took one bite of my chili dog and the bread tasted old and hard. I went to look at the bun bag and I was shock to see they are best used by 12/12/16... we are now in January. I am to freakin MAD!!! I can not believe this crap. I tried to call Dollar General and nothing.... I cant believe this!

This store has a little bit of everything and its bigger than it looks. The prices are lower on a lot of items, so theyre competitive anyway. The location is a drawback and the selection is less than major stores. The store is clean and well stocked. They do sell beer, but not sure about liquor.

Its been great having a shopping spot on this side of town that has reasonable prices and a selection of items. The variety isnt vast but 8 times out of 10 they have what I need. Also, through this covid time, their hours of operation has been close to normal. They have stayed open the longest out of any store in Lompoc (minus 7-11). My three complaints are these: The lines to check out can be long and slow. This is especially true at night and over the weekend. If there is an issue with your order this can cause the clerks to get uptight. Secondly, Dollar General itself has an application and a website that provides both manufacturer and exclusive digital in store coupons. I use the coupons on every visit and more times than not their cash register program does not activate certain coupons or doesnt recognize them at all. Most clerks will deduct the amount of the coupon after I show them the coupon and also the product bought. Others throw their arms up and say there is nothing they can do . Despite Dollar General offering the coupon I dont have the benefit of using it. The couponing issue is primarily the reason why I gave 4 versus 5 stars. Most times I only buy items I have coupons for so, this is not only frustrating it makes my order more expensive. To takes items off an order is a slow process so this too can also create an uptight clerk. Lastly, their shelves are not stocked nightly. Some items come in regularly, like milk and eggs. But it seems most items are not ordered until there is none. I cant quite figure it out. Also, other items, especially laundry care, seems to fly off the shelf in one day and sits mostly empty for the next week. Good luck getting Tide and Gain pods and any brand of scent boosters. I know the prices are low and there are always coupons to make them lower but, why they dont make a much larger order is beyond me. Common sense tells me that if the shelf goes empty in a day or two then chances are a larger order may last a bit longer. In any case, laundry care still requires most everyone to purchase the items to care for their dirty laundry so Im pretty sure that the store is not going to lose money if they ordered a larger quantity. I have had a few issues about understocked or items not being replenished. I have not made an effort to understand the stores stocking policies. Instead, Ive learned that just because theyve had a certain brand for a year it may suddenly disappear without anyone knowing why. I sum it up to one of those quirks found in a discounted store. In the name of low prices comes some quirks that I have to accept. Although I have some complaints, Im way more grateful having this shopping option in my neighborhood. The positives of having Dollar General far outweigh any negatives. In addition to providing a decent variety of groceries it also provides seasonal items, household items, clothing, baby items, hygiene, and health related items. This store has some amazing clearance sales and great bargains. Because it is a chain store it has its pricing and discounts predetermined. This has made it possible for a handful of dedicated fans and penny pinchers to have channels on youtube and Facebook that show the average shopper how to take advantage of saving the most money.But, what I found best about this particular Dollar General is the overall character. This to me, most of the time, is much more important than stressing about coupons and shelf stocking. Employees are what make up that character.Upbeat and friendly clerks are more often what I get. Some clerks will go above and beyond to help you out. The clerks here didnt go to a university to earn a B A in Grocery Clerking and may not be the most professional in a robotic and cookie cutter way. Instead, they are a reflection of the neighborhood it serves. Theres an eclectic team whom tries hard to do a decent job. I respect this. This store has become part of the neighborhood rather than coming in and price gouging of those less fortunate. Some things can be improved. Im patient.

Love this place! Best prices on fresh fruit, always find items weekly that you normally dont find just anywhere. Great prices and staff almost interact with each other like a family which makes a job not a job in my opinion.

I Love this place and I know some will disagree but I love getting $200 worth of groceries for $85 here and they have some good brands along with dollar brands. Its right across the street from my pops house so Im here on the regular. The only negative I guess is sometimes they dont have enough checkers to check you out, but recently it hasnt been to bad seems as though they have hired more help. Check it out

Close to home and has most of what I need to get by. Service has seriously deteriorated. Today (Sunday) lots of empty shelves. Carts litter the entrance outside. I used to love this place but it seems theres no price in ownership here. We sat in a line of 6 while the express lane sat empty. I asked of its only express.. She replied rudely, its supposed to be. The line we sat in had an obvious new employee who needed more training before being left alone on a register. All while people stacked up behind me.

Absolutely love this Dollar General mainly bc of one of the employees. Im ashamed to say I dont remember her name but she is super nice!! Dollar General always has great prices it seems as though I get a cart full of food and groceries there and its way cheaper than any other place I shop at the only thing is sometimes the lines are long because they dont have as many cashiers checking people out but they have been working on that I notice. Still worth the wait because of the good prices!

Store is OK. floor staff very friendly as is the manage. I dont know if he is still there but one of the, usually, evening checkers is quite interesting in this day & age. He is discriminatory, dismissive, arrogant and down right surley. Its due to that one person I refuse to shop Dollar General unless absolutely necessary.it only takes on bad actor to ruin the experience...this guy has it in spades.

Dollar general is a nice middle ground between a convience store a big outlet like Walmart. Theyve got good prices and have descent selection of groceries and household items.

The convenience of having a store nearby like that is nice. However, the almost always long check-out lines and wait along with the limited selection, which is not always fully stocked, stymies this from being at least a 4-star store, which I believe it has the potential to be.

They only have one or two items, usually their brand and one name brand with the name brand being some of the smallest versions of it so that you feel like they are ripping you off. There is always a set of kids that steal and the associates dont care when you tell them.

Priced are incredible, staff is friendly and the store is clean. The only thing you gotta worry about are the customers; some can be real bungholes. LMAO I guess some folks dont like to save money. 🤔

Many items and fruit especially, was more expensive then Albertsons! Their stock was super dusty so I had to go wash my hands. Their restroom was DISGUSTING to say the least. How are employees even allowed to go back on the floor and handle produce and such. You can almost catch a disease just from the door! The odor was horrid, no AC, it was a horrible experience!
