The exam was professional and thorough. I got the fancy eye scan instead of the dilation and learned that I have a minor birth defect in one eye. Ive worn glasses for over 20 years and just now learned about it. It took a while for my new glasses to come in but that was expected. All told it was a good experience.

Dr Wallace is a great doctor. One of the nicest eye doctor offices I’ve seen. They have the best equipment for a comfortable and thorough exam. You almost feel like you’re a few years into the future here. You won’t regret coming here for your annual eye exam.

I was told by their insurance person that I said I would never be returning when I had an appointment a year ago. I was also told that I could not be there patient any more because I was going to leave a bad review over a year ago. This was never said but here’s your bad review now🤷🏼‍♀️. August wallace has been a provider for me and my daughter for quite sometime but not anymore…..because I was told I could not make another appointment Worst experience ever!!!! Very…very unprofessional

I used Dr. Wallace for the first time last year. I was so impressed with the friendly staff. However, it has changed drastically. They never answer the phone. They never respond to messages you leave. They were even closed 6 days for Labor Day. I finally on Tuesday, after several failed attempts to talk to a person, drove to the office. I didnt know any of the staff that was there. Then I was helped by Misty. Lets just say she has the personality of a brick wall. Im sad things have changed so much there. I really was so impressed with my visit last year.

I went to Dr. Wallace today and was so impressed. The lady that greeted me was so sweet and kind and made me feel very welcome. Every staff member was awesome. Dr. Wallace took his time and answered all my questions. They truly care that you are seeing the best that you can! I recommend them highly!!

Excessive price markup on all their available products. Can get same quality materials for much less elsewhere. The only good things I can say about this place is the doctor is fantastic at what he does, and the office looks nice. The rest is lack luster.

Nice place but I am a little upset that they made my 4 year old wear a mask when governor abott said kids under 10 do not have to. Also was not very pleased with the way the lady up front handled the situation. She approached and asked if my son had a mask to which I replied “no ma’am” then she said “ well everybody in here has to wear a mask so....”(she left the sentence floating). Then proceeded to tell me that they provide one for an extra 3 dollars and without me even saying ok brings one to me. I had to deny the mask because I don’t have any cash nor did I bring my card. Luckily I was able to find an extra mask in my vehicle. I gave a 5 star because this is a different time we are in but I do think it’s a little messed up and inconvenient to make a rule for all kids to wear mask when that’s not the mandate. Other than that I love this place.

My family have been using August Wallace Eyecare for a long time. My daughter started to seeing them as well. But over the years things have changed drastically and patient care have not been really good. But yet still satisfying. I called the office to ask if I could pick up a trial pair of contacts for my daughter and I was told no because people have been abusing the services. I explained to her that I had not ever called and asked for anything other than what I have paid for. My daughter just need a pair of contacts to get her through to her next examine. The office manager stated that she could not let her have a pair of trial contacts because people have been abusing the services. I paid my money and I cant get 1 pair to get by to her next appointment next month. I feel I would be wasting money if I order a new box and the prescription expire next month. I will be taking my business else where. So not satisfied and I have been a loyal customer....

WARNING CURRENT CONTACT USERS If you go hear for a contact eye exam they will charge you another $100 for a contact fitting. I have worn contacts for years and do not need a fitting or contacts to try. The upfront lady is not helpful and I drove off and left. BE CAREFUL! check before

I also have been seeing Dr Wallace for years but this last time I took my prescription to Walmart and spent a 1/4 of what I had been paying at August Wallace. It was more affordable at the old location I guess we are all paying for the new building. Also after reading other reviews on here I see they dont take kind to criticism. Alway what sounds like an excuse and the patient fault. No accountability. Sad really!

I just went for my first eye appointment to get more contacts a few days ago. I was very pleased. The office is very impressive. I didnt have to fill out a stack of papers like most first visits. The staff and doctor were all knowledgeable, friendly, and very competent. I am very happy with my choice for our new eye doctor.

Dr Wallace is 5 star with me & my family! When going for regular eye appointments, I appreciate the relaxed coffee area & the beautiful, clean environment. The new office is beautiful & very conveniently located, so that is a huge plus also! Dr Wallace is very knowledgeable & prompt for appointments. However, as a patient who has had emergency situations, I have to point out that Dr Wallace exceeded my expectations in every way. Dr Wallace & his family ( another bonus for me, I love family owned businesses) proved to be concerned, genuine & went way beyond the service expected. Longview is very blessed to have Wallace Eye Care!

I went for my first & probably last exam last week. Staff was attentive, until check out. I was told it was a $50 copay. I told Misty i thought it should be less. She stated you have Blue Cross. I told her I do for medical. Vision is Dearborn. She ignored me. I verified my benefits the next day at work. Copay should be $10. I went on my lunch hour on Friday to find their office closed.

We have been going here for a while. Dr. Wallace is good and sent us to a specialist when we needed to. He explained things well and gave us options. Also, he staff are more than accomadating. Once, I called from out of town, and they offered to email me our prescriptions. This was great!

I was a patient and optical customer of August Wallace for years. I referred people to his practice and planned on my entire family using this practice. While I understand that this is a business, there are practices that arent patient/customer centered. Last year, I went to get an eye exam and fitted for contacts. The doctor recommended a different type of contacts. I didnt question him because I trusted his recommendation. At check out the contact fitting totaled around $80. They sent me home with the trial pair and I thought they were fine so I ordered more. Unfortunately, those contacts tore relentlessly after 2 weeks of me wearing them. Ive been wearing contacts for 15 years and never saw anything like it. I called and they instructed me to come in and return the trial pair and they would order a different prescription. I did as instructed and I was told everything would be taken care of. Apparently, it was never ordered. I called several times and no one responded and the last person I spoke with didnt provide any information. I left work to resolve the issue in person. After a while, they basically said someone dropped the ball and refunded me and the insurance because I would be getting contacts elsewhere. It took several months for the refund to clear and even after months of waiting, the refund caused issues at a different optical place. Well I never understood why it was such a problem until I became more familiar with my insurance provisions a few months ago. As it turns out, my contact fitting is only $25 should I get fitted for an insurance approved contact prescription. Please know your insurance policy and empower yourself to make choices that are best for you. Do not solely rely on others to educate you on what you should be billed for or what optical products to wear. I paid $80 for the fitting, then $15 for the balance of contacts the insurance didnt pay for and then I was charged at a different optical place as well. Friendly is one thing but patient-centered is another. In the grand scheme of things, $80 isnt a lot of money and I paid it because I trusted the doctor and staff. But the principle of intentionally not disclosing various billing options because it makes more business sense is just unacceptable to me. In my opinion, charging me the extra $55 for business reasons wasnt worth it because I will not return or refer again.

The office staff had very knowledge of what was going on. Dr. Wallace didnt care I had returned my second time because I still couldnt see out of the contacts he gave me. They were way stronger then I needed and he wouldnt listen or acted like he could care less. Ended up going to East Texas Eye Care Associates where they listened to me and got me SEEING AGAIN!!!.

Dr. Wallace was great, but I will never go back again. I paid to get an eye exam, and then the staff refused to give me my daughters PD that they measured and told me to pay another facility $20 to get it done. I have used Dr. Wallace as well as my daughter, and we will never go there based on their staff and refusal to give me information I paid for.

I had such a fantastic experience getting my contacts and glasses from August Wallace Eyecare Associates. I had not gotten an eye exam in several years and was having trouble with my old prescription from another doctor. After my eye exam, I learned that in one eye I was wearing the wrong prescription. That small change made such a big difference! Dr. Wallace encouraged me to go from Rigid Gas Permeable lenses to soft contacts and his staff very patiently taught me how to put them in and take them out of my eyes. I purchased cute new glasses and they even gave me information on a rebate for my Acuvue contact lenses. The prices were very reasonable and the quality of the product was outstanding. The staff is friendly, helpful, and go the extra mile. I would recommend them without hesitation.

Today I became very disappointed with Wallace Eyecare. I ordered a pair of glasses in July and they are poor quality so went in today to see about what can be done. They exchanged the frames out with a pair from their display case and said it counts towards the one time manufacturer return. In the process of changing the lenses, the tech cracked/chipped my lenses. When discussing the warranty plan I purchased she said I only get two year protection on the lenses and not any warranty on the frames which big reason of buying them was the 2 year warranty on frames and lenses. Im very disappointed in the customer service I received today and replacing my frames with a pair from the displaying and it counting toward my warranty claim from the manufacturer. I will no longer use Wallace Eyecare once I get my new lenses in. I will go back to using one of the online stores who provide 100% customer satisfaction! Very disappointed.

Last year they told me i had to take the pair of trial contacts that they gave me out and throw them away if i didnt pay even tho my insurance covers it so we argued for a while we had to tell them how to bill my insurance and once they realised I was right theydidnt even apologize. Then this year over the phone they argued that my insurance wouldnt pay for an appointment for 3 more months finally i asked them just to try it and so they told me it would be free then after my appointment they said it was $10 now its changed to $70 somehow
