We have been using Chad for over 10 years, just a brilliant mechanic who was the only one who could fix our 87 Buick Grand National, the honest mechanic we know.
Thank you Chad for all the information above and beyond the job at hand.
I have used Chad for over 12 years. He initially fixed and rebuilt my Mitsubishi Eclipse engine after 2 previous mechanics failed miserably. Since then he has maintained or worked on 7+ cars between my immediate family and friends. Never a complaint. I know that Chad has given me fair pricing for solid work. He has always steered clear of certain brands of cars as they are not his expertise. A simple call with your needs and he will steer you in the right direction. He is not a large corporate business or franchise. Just a local knowledgeable mechanic using his expertise to make a living.
I took my 1994 van in because the tension pulley broke off the engine block. I asked for a price... he said he couldnt give one but he charges $100 per hour. He said it could take 15 minutes or maybe 3 hours. I said call me when you know how much it is. He calls 30 minutes later to tell me the brakes need work. I told him I dont want him fixing the brakes. He said it was his policy to not let vehicles leave his shop unless they are road worthy. I told him not to fix the brakes. He insisted he fix them. I told him call back with a price. He calls the following morning to tell me the work is done. $455 to fix a brake line and replace a pulley. The tension pulley didnt need to be replaced... only the broken bolt. He charged me for a new assembly $89, labor to install $189, misc parts, brake line, etc. I didnt authorize the new part for the pulley or fixing the brakes but he did the work w/o my approval. When I went in he wanted me to sign something that says I waved the need for a written estimate which I didnt get a copy of. This guys is a scumbag and should be avoided at all cost. Always get a written estimate. Keep in mind Longwood PD will tell you its a civil matter.
All I needed was an oil change. I brought in my own oil and filter, just needed the labor done. The man behind the counter (I assume the owner) grumpily said he would do it. As soon as I told him I have a Honda Civic Si, he quickly says NOPE! I dont work on Hondas! He gives me a poor excuse why, and even though I just needed an oil change, he still refused to do it. The place also looked like a dump like there is no pride in the business. Go down the street to other options, especially if you own a Honda (because Hondas are scary!).
Recently came to this shop to get my bearing fixed after a bad ordeal with Inlign. Honest, straightforward guy. Inlign told me I needed a new axle and they wouldn’t work on my vehicle until I brought the part in to fix it, Chad told me my axle was fine and had my vehicle fixed. 10/10 would recommend this shop.
