Great spot for metal supplies and any construction materials. When I need to fabricate material for an architecture or art job they work out a good deal and get the job done fast. Owners have been working there for more than 30 years and know what you need.

Customer service is lacking. Whenever I call to get a quote on some materials it seems like Im bothering the person on the phone. Truly a disservice is being done to this amazing business I really hope the owner sees this message and does something about the horrible customer service.

Busy place and can be a little chaotic if youre looking for smaller pieces of scrap but the guys that work there are helpful. Definitely try not to forget your calipers or tape measure like I did but some guy named Oscar help me out. Unfortunately I couldnt find any quarter inch steel plate bigger than like 18-in square or any steel l bracket 3x3 big enough for what I needed but they clearly have lots of metal

If you plan to buy online ! Don’t! After I placed my order I received an email where they asked me to explain how I got the prices on my cart ! They canceled my order because the prices from their website are wrong . In 2 sentences they asked me 3 times how I got those price . Who ever is doing their website is failing ! And his not take any responsibility for his mistakes. Not returning to them because they accused me of doing something to get online prices in their own system. And cancel the order because of their mistake. For what I know they don’t care about new clients or new small businesses. And any business not honoring online orders should stick to yard sale . Yes ! By law they aren’t obligated to honor orders due price mistakes but Moral your client is your success! This company does not appreciate their clients . I do recommend looking to do your business with other business then bobcometals

Bobco is a perfectly acceptable outdoor steel yard. They have a lot of decorative gate and fence stuff and roofing and decking and things like that. Basic steel fabrication stuff, nothing exotic. I guess they do have some stainless steel. obviously everything has a little bit of rust on it but thats just the nature of an outdoor steel yard. at least it doesnt rain a lot in Los Angeles. Obviously if I needed something exceptionally clean or some kind of fancy aluminum or a particular alloy I might try IMS first but for 80% of what Ill ever need Bobco is the answer.

No customer assistance and only the counter help speaks any English. The place is an absolute mess. Im doing a welding project for my home and this is the second time Ive been in there since about a decade. It was disorganized then, so I figured I would return to see if anything had improved. It got worse. I was in search of flat ornamental steel to finish my gate project. The minute I stepped in there, it was rather dark and dingy and in disarray. They didnt have enough of what I needed in stock. Only one piece. I waited in the sales line for counter help and I got the classic run around. The counter sales referred me to another guy that was weighing scrap metal and all he could do was point and grunt. After that I walked right out and I wont be back.

This is the first time shopping at BOBCO for square tubing and diamond plate steel, and  I must say that the service was great. The prices,  even better. One of the managers, Alan,  really helped me and made sure I was taken care of. Compared to M&K and IMS, BOBCO’s price doesn’t even compare they are so good. Two days ago I bought plates from this place, price is very good and employees are nice. I would definitely recommend this place to my family and friends.

This company might have good prices and/or provide the products that people need. But I never got that far. The worker had a very aggressive and impatient tone as I tried to get a quote for sheet metal. I tried to clarify myself, but he just got more rude asking me what I meant. Dont want to use them at all. Dont even care what product theyre selling. Customer service is still important today.

I went to the store on Monday April 24, and had a very bad experience. The owner was abusing his power and blamed me for something that happened that I had no part in. The whole time I spoke with him courteously, but he wouldnt come off his high horse. I reminded him that he should be more respectful of his customers, I hope the message gets through because what I experienced wasnt right.

Bobco had exactly what I was looking for. I was sceptical to go based on the reviews, but my experience there was great. I went straight to the store and was treated with great customer service. definitely going back.

I have given this place chance after chance because it is less than a half mile from my shop. I have no idea how they are still in business. So so so unorganized. The metal that I get always has dents and dings to the point where I am having to search for usable pieces. I build and sell products made of steel. It should not have dents in it already. Every single time is just unacceptable by far.

UPDATE: Bobco made this right. When they got my materials in stock, they shipped it to me free! Thank you so very much!!Do not shop here! I ordered something that was out of stock. They took my payment and told me it would be in stock in a month. When I asked for a refund, they said their account was hacked and I should go through my bank. They did not refund my money OR help at all. No wonder this company has 2 stars!!

I’ve been purchasing metal from many stell suppliers in Southern CA for over 15 years. I began purchasing from BOBCO in 2010 and They were the only company that always had exactly what I was looking for without a minimum order quantity. On top of their great inventory, I have yet found any other company that has unmatachabke prices without lowering the quality of materials. I definitely reccomend BOBCO for anyone purchasing any type metal, without having to worry about premium prices and bad customer service. Their delivery service is also great, especially for hardware.

Perfect place if you look for a specific use piece of metal

Went to the store on Thursday January 25th to pick up a sheet that they said they had in stock the week prior. Called 3 times with no response to my voicemails.While I understand the market for aluminum fluctuates, they weren’t willing to stick to the quote that they gave me the prior week when I called the day of to pick up the metal. After I arrived, I tried to negotiate again, to no avail.I paid the extra $100 difference from the quote, only to find out the material hadn’t been in stock for over a month. Leaving me with the unfortunate option to pay another $100 to a larger sheet (once again, with no negotiation.)If I had a better supplier I would have gone to them, but the major LA metal supplier we went to messed up our delivery order. I probably won’t be coming back to using this as a source again.

Shop here if you have to.. pretty bad customer service. Every time I buy steel here they screw up order.. M&K or IMS are better choices..

You have to know what you need, which will make for an easy visit. Bring wipes or gloves.

Rude people answer the phone with deep accents and barley speak English. They tell me I dont know how to speak. When I get down there to buy angle iron the metal was bent already and not at the angle it should be. There prices and service isnt better than M&K metals on south western

Very bad customer service. The order was incomplete and they promised to call next business day - no any calls . When I call next day, the sale representative told me that they are very busy and I need to call later - it was 8:00 a.m. I did not get my complete order, nor they provide me with any refund.
