After days of contemplating and with recommendations from my friends I decided to give it a try of their food. I was recommended by a staff member to try theirPaella accompanied with roti. I guess I made the worst decision the paella was bland, it was watery and tasteless. The freshly made roti was soft and crispy. The only thing tasted well was the green chillies. The cucumber salad was equally made. The place was cramped and the decor was bad too.

We were very happy that we came here. Being from Bangladesh, we wanted to try Bangladeshi food in LAs Little Bangladesh area. This is the first restaurant that opened in this area and theyve been in business for ~ 20 years. The restaurant/dine-in area is separated from its grocery sections. Weve found every item to be delicious but one must try the Beef paya (with parata) and Rohu fry with Rice (add gravy items too). Parata is large enough for 2 people easily. Price was very decent too.Oh, dont forget to treat yourself with Bangladeshi sweets!

They only have the name Aladin but the quality of food does not represent the brand at all. The food taste is below average. I took some takeout and could not eat it as it went bad the same day. The sweets are also not up to the mark. Do yourself a favor and dine somewhere else.

This is place is one of the worst place I have ever been. The food are rotten. I think the LA health dept should investigate their kitchen and shut their place. I gotten sick having their food. Second, their behavior is extremely rude and unprofessional. They take their customers as granted and do whatever they like. Third, and most importantly, I think most of the five star reviews are fake. They create google account and give fake review, so they can fool the customers. I think if you talk about food quality to anyone in person, 70% people will say about their rude behave and rotten food. Dont fall into their scam, choose another healthy place. And finally, if there is any option, I would give them -1000 star as this place is the worst restaurant in whole LA.

Very poor customer service. There is a guy in the counter who does not know how to talk to a customer. Rude behavior. Extremely disappointing.[Based on the response from the management. I could not find any option to reply. I just wanted to add some details. It happened recently.] The management guy was extremely rude when we wanted to make a big order and requested for a small courtesy discount. We were totally surprised, astonished and bewildered to see a management person in the US could behave like this. This was beyond our imagination. I hope they will correct themselves.

First time to try this place. Ordered Mutton Curry ($5.99) + Fried Rice ($2.99) to go. The mutton curry is so good. It’s very oily but if you mix it well to get more of the good stuff in the sauce, it’s tastes so good. The portion is quite generous. I love that some portion of the mutton are the fatty parts. Spice level is mild. Perfect enough to make you want to eat more of their rice. I would get the regular steamed rice next time as the fried rice isn’t really fried rice. They just added a little amount if the orange stuff and some spices on top of the white rice and that’s it. $1 additional charge. All in all, it was a good meal. I would come back to try their biryani and other curry dishes.

I would never have chosen to come here had it not been for word of mouth. Its a typical southern Asian (mainly Bengali) grocery store. Not much to look at, so dont go by the looks. Parking is in the back. We came here when it was pouring so got parking spots but I doubt youd be able to find them on a regular day and it is supremely difficult to get the car out of that lot. Might as well park on the street if you can.Now onto the food. The fish curry was deliciousness personified. We ordered rohu which was cooked really well and had great flavor. I was warned that Bengali food may not live up to my expectations of spicy but this was very well-seasoned and made me happy. We ordered a white rice and a chapati to go with it. The chapati was huge and more like a laccha paratha. Decent when hot, difficult to break when it got colder. We ordered a chicken biryani too, which was just ok. Tasted better the next day when we had it for leftovers. But this place is not the place for biryani. The rasgulla we had for dessert was ok, a little too sweet for us. We had wanted the dessert that had a pink middle but didnt know the right name to get it across to the person.Definitely come here for the fish curry. Big thumbs up for that.

Aladin Sweets & Market Inc. is a Bangladeshi restaurant in downtown LA. We came here a couple of times. Their food is so good, with a few exceptions. I would recommend you to try their Biryani Chicken, Kachchi Biriyani, Tahari, Chicken Roast, Beef Curry, Chicken Puff, Chicken Samosa, Lassi, and Borhani. If you are a fan of Bangladeshi desserts, you can try their Roshgullah, Rasmalai, Laddu, and Doi. The price seems a little bit high. Their overall service is also pretty good. However, the parking to this place is tricky. There is a very narrow space through which you need to go behind the store.

Apart from the sandesh(A traditional bengali sweet) everything sucked big time at this place. They probably throw the meat from their deep freezers into their curries directly. Make sure to bring a board game over to this place so that you can use the mutton pieces as dice for the game. Its tougher than any mf in LA.

This place is easy to overlook, but...don’t. At minimum, waltz into the cramped market section and spend $2 on some sort of ready to go savory pastry. The chicken somosas and puffs are exquisite, as is the fried ground beef balls. The chicken bhoti kabab stole the show with its unbelievable flavor and tenderness and a proper kick of chili and spice. The doi is new for me, a sort of sweet yogurt dessert, but recommended. Whatever you get, make sure to order some fresh made paratha to go with it. Also, you wouldn’t know unless you venture deeper into the store but they have a fairly spacious dining area so you can enjoy a Bengali chai at the end of your meal. Can’t wait to go again.

If there is a broke table please repair it by yourself,no need to hire any body, it is matter of few pins2. Entrance is not welcoming, feels like going to a deshi moodi dukan (grocery shop)..people go for food, so they look for hygiene and proper cleaning.3.when people go for deshi food does not mean they have to see deshi grocery shops style. Our kids need to be happy to go there. If it is nice and clean lot of outsider customer will go and will create better impressions about the country too.All of us like those food, we tried 7/8 different menus.

This grocery store is oldest in the community for south asian food and spice. Never knew that they sell expired items by scratching out the expiry date. Last time I bought around 10 blocks of different kinds of fish. I even didn’t think about checking the expiry date because I never thought they would sell any item without an expiry date. When I came home and surprisingly found that 7 out of those 10 blocks of fish had expiry date wiped out by scratching the date printed on it. I assume that those packets are actually expired. So disappointed after seeing that.

To my surprise they were one of the best places for kabobs. The sauces and the samosas were great too. I would be careful about some of the sauces because they can be spicy and have tiny bones in the meat. I dont remember everything I had but the food was good and inexpensive. The place is a hole in the wall and there is a market in the back. Service was kind of slow, but the food made up for it. It is very authentic.
