Beautiful restaurant for dinning in! Food was super delicious! The garlic bread was really good. I asked for extra sauce on my pasta and I was charged for it which showed up on the bill but I was never told that when I asked. It should’ve been mentioned. Other than that service was great! You can text your waiter/waitress which was a really neat idea.
My husband & I love Brazilian food so we wanted to check this place out. We walked in & no one greeted us for like 5 mins when an employee was on a laptop right in front of us until my husband went up to her & asked her if we seat ourselves or a host will get us & said we can choose wherever we want. We sat in the back outside which was a cute area. We seated ourselves & still took so a while for someone to come to our table to ask us if we were good when 2/3 employees passed by us serving everyone else. Accidently I got on their catering menu online since the QR Code wasnt working on my phone & when I asked the server, margarita, I had asked her what was the difference between 3 types of meat, she sarcastically said, thats our catering menu for a big group, are you a big group?, when it was just my husband & I & I stated no, i didnt know, i just ran into it online on your website. We were finally able to get to the right menu. We ordered our food & the food was tasty & excellent! No complaints about the food. We had asked margarita for our check, flan, & box to go but she was more entertained helping the other customers out & kept telling us that shell be right back with our stuff like 3 times. She probably had her regulars coming in because it seemed like they known her but it didnt mean we were supposed to get treated differently. Big plus to the chef though for making delicious food!
Is this place authentic Brazilian cuisine? Eh, I probably wouldnt go that far. But let me tell you about this local LA chain: it delivers a powerful punch when it comes to options, flavor, quality and quantity! I have been to all of the various Bossa Nova locations over many years, and rarely am I disappointed. Pictured below is my favorite dish, the chimichurri picanha (steak) with gargonzola mashed potatoes, grilled asparagus and onion straws. Other times, Ive gone with one of their delicious grilled chicken dishes. Their pasta dishes are also quite delicious. I havent even gotten to their sandwiches, salads, bowls and more! While it may or may not be a taste of Brazil, come check out this amazing taste of LA!
My food was delicious. They brought back the Manuelas special. It is a little different but still tasty. The Sangria is different. Its no longer a favorite for me.
Horrible service. $6 parking. Leak that runs along the entire south wall. Surprised they havent been shut down for health code violation.... or poor service.****RESPONSE TO RESPONSELetting you know.. the guy with the blue hair is a detriment to your business, and its not about impressing me. Youre breaking health code in that backroom. To be more detailed, I was ONE of SIX people from THREE separate parties that complained to your manager about the service, and the blue hair guy specifically that night.
I ordered chicken piccata, chicken madeira and a Bossa Burger. I ordered through door dash and when I received my food, the bread for the burger had mold on it. I called Bossa Nova to let them know and a worker named Jessica said let me speak to the manager Martha. After a short hold she came back and said, hey why dont you tell door dash because there is nothing we can do about the situation. This was one of the crumbiest, shadiest things id ever encountered with a restaurant. Not only did they not do anything but door dash only refunded the money for the burger and tax, not even the tip! Both Bossa nova and door dash need to work on their customer service. I will not order from Bossa Nova again and I wont use door dash again to deliver anything for me or my business. Heres a picture of the mold so you can digest what I am talking about
Wonderfully seasoned Brazilian food. Especially liked the yucca flour which added a unique flavor when mixed with the dish. I had the chicken breast with power grains, salsa, yucca flour and charred veggies. Also, the foccacia-like bread with olive oil & balsamic vinegar for dipping was delicious. Portions are so big, we all took home enough to have dinner again at home the next day. Will definitely come back.
One of my favorite Brazilian places to eat. Great for any occasion or no occasion. The bread pudding is amazing. As far as entree....you cant go wrong with anything on the menu. The pizzas, the lasagna, the traditional plates (any of them)... 🔥 🔥!!!DELISH.
Good food. I ordered the fire chicken from the Bossa Nova grill with rice and the veggies. Service was fast and food arrived quickly. The sangria was a little empty taste wide, but the margarita. My friends describe them as splendid.
The food is great and the atmosphere is fun. Servers take the order and drop the check. No check backs, have to hunt them down. But, we still had a fun time. The steak was amazing!!!
They put the Boss in Bossa Nova!! Portions are good aozw not too big not too small. Prices were decent. Atmosphere was amazing it was during the afternoon so I dont know if its usually busy because it wasnt at the time. The one thing that did stand out the most besides the amazing food. Was the plants they grow on the back wall. Amazing ♻️
The food is always excellent and the service is really great. I always know that bossa Nova will always be there for us.
I love love love bossa, literally the best pasta ever.. to top it off Ashley & Jessica at the take out desk are absolutely AMAZING…. their customer service is far past superb! I highly recommend this bossanova location whether a family outing, birthday celebration or even a cute late night date! Thanks Ashley and Jessica for always being so kind🙏🏽
I love Brazilian food and had always had a great experience with Bossa Nova on Sunset Blvd. But this location has the worst customer service that I have seen after 9 minutes waiting to place a order over the phone, they said my order it would be ready in 20 minutes I have arrived after this and it’s already 30 minutes that I’m waiting inside the restaurant! Total time to get my food 1 hour!Employees at the register very unprofessional!
Bossa Nova is still my favorite restaurant around L.A. i like anything on their menu. Expecially Lemon Garlic Chicken. Sometimes a long wait.
The food was pretty amazing. The only thing I didnt like was the vegetables was roasted too hard & really salty. I ordered the flank steak, white rice, black beans & roasted veggie. Very yummy. My bf ordered shrimp & chicken pasta with a side of plantains. He loved his food as well. The service was really good. There is valet & self parking. There is a lot of seating but it seemed to get really busy, so just be prepared.
This review goes only for the sea food pasta. What a great pasta . Bossa Nova has definitely figured out what MAKES a good and balanced pasta, ingredients, flavors, portions, proteins are all balanced to perfection. But what really tops off everything is the freshness of the ingredients. I wouldn’t be surprised if all ingredients were organic, but even if not they are definitely premium ingredients or at the very least skillfully crafted to taste like you are eating a superior quality of food. Thanks Bossa Nova for the experience ...keep it up.
I was blown away by the flavors, great service awesome environment will come back
Had a Group of 13 at a Restaurant during the CoronaVirus Pandemic. All Employees had Face covering that i saw. It made me feel comfortable. However, I didnt get ANYTHING for fear of the CoronaVirus. I sat outside and often times stood away from my Group. My friends ate and drank with No Problems tho. All in all, everyone had a Great experience there, ill give them 3 stars 🌟
Its one of the best restaurants in Los Angeles. They have one on Robertson and Sunset Blvd. I often go there more than this place here.
Food was good and the staff were friendly.Ambience was more of a bar than a restaurant. Slightly expensive than we thought.
My hubby attended an event there the other day and I asked him to bring back the chicken lasagna. Baaaaby when I tell you it was absolutely delish. Sorry I didn’t take a pic but I promise you that you will not be disappointed. Just needed more spinach.
Bossa Nova is one of my favorite restaurants. We often are so busy we dont have time to eat. Suddenly its 9 or 10 pm and nothing is open. Luckily, Bossa Nova stays open till at least 1 am every night. The menu is huge and theres something for everyone. Our Brazilian server, Lorena, suggested we try a drink called a Capirinha Cocktail. It was better than the Mojitos I usually order. The food is good and ample. We usually split a meal and feel very satisfied. Even the decaf coffee is good. Give it a try, you wont be sorry!
This is basically Brazilian resturant. The taste is very good and the quality of the food is also good. Ambience is ok. Staff are very polite and co-operative. Best for dine-in. Drinks are also served here. The prices are moderate. In Desserts FLAN is must try. I tried only vegetarian. My friends who came along with me had non-vegetarian and had no compliants.
The food is pretty awesome and the service is one of the best. I strongly recommend giving this place a try when you can.
I always order take out from here. I love how they take your number down so they can remember who you are.. the security is chill and cool... the staff is friendly and they are always working getting the job done.. this location is not overcrowded so everything is smooth and easy
Open late. Huge menu. Friendly staff. Tasty food. Is this place even real? Seems too good to be true.
By far the best brazilian cuisine I’ve had ever! So delicious and mouth watering flavors! Impact tastes, making you want more! I could have this place for breakfast lunch and diner!
I like to go with friends to this restaurant with my warmest recommendations. I go to this restaurant often. I get very good feedback from my friends. The the food there is fantastic and the team is very friendly and cooperative. Whenever we go to this place we enjoy a lovely time. warmly recommended.
We got seated right away, even during the busy lunch hour, and service was courteous, speedy, and attentive. I was disappointed that there were no gluten-free buns as an option for my burger, but it was delicious lettuce-wrapped all the same. The grilled veggies were much more diverse than I expected and quite good.
Nothing to write home about. Picaña steak was not like the ones Ive at at Brazilian BBQ places. Its just steak. Tender and tasty, but not worth $32 imo. Pasta was good but also overpriced. Large portions though.
Very disappointing! The food wasnt special at all. We went there based on the reviews. I wonder how they got this much stars and good reviews. We went there with our toddler and we got penne with butter for her from the kids menu and it was 8$! it was just some boiled pasta with a very small cup of cheese on the side. Our baby girl usually LOVEs pasta but for the first time she didnt even touched it!Not a very pleasant experience for the first time.
Excellent food!! Vegan options. Upscale environment. Excellent service. I had never tried their food before, but, WOW!! The menu is fantastic!! I suggest only one thing to the menu: Vegan Feta, Parmesean and Vegan cheddar for the impossible!! It is a yes for me!!
Great drinks, good food. It was overall a cool experience to learn about Brazilian culture and food. The Yucca and plantains are something special.,, 😋
The food was amazing. A lot of the menu items were new to me. Great ambiance. Great cocktails!
The food and service was great. Good selection of craft beer
Food was amazing service was great my 1st time and would def go back again and get de pasta dishes. I got de burger n sweet potatoe friez which was great as well, avocado toast and shrimp toast appetizerz were on point. De Brazilian beer n Spain beer was smooth no harsh taste and wonderful. Def a must go again.
This place was really good! Coxhina were traditional and yum. The beet salad was fresh and light and delicious! The kifta were also a table hit. They make strawberry Lemonade thats delightful.
My server was great for the first time ever. I did not get his name and I hate that but he had on a red shirt and looked of Asian. Thank you. Sometimes a server can really make you feel like u wish u never came but he was perfect. Thank you for that because I had a long day.
Bossa nova seems to be thriving during the difficult pandemic period by adapting to socially distanced seating and expanding tables out doors. The service is always great with friendly servers and quality food. The food has always been consistent for over 10 years of patronizing this location. An easy dining choice.
❌Very bad meal picking experience, the rude security rushed the pickers outside to line up. My food was already prepared, but I had to stand outside and wait for an hour to pick up my food. I am a customer, this is it The way they treat customers, terrible food pick-up service, it is not recommended to come here
The salmon here always hits and the chicken is delicious too. Always, always get the roasted veggies.
Awesome and fresh food, I liked the vibes the place has, and the cashiers were very welcoming. I will definitely eat here again.
I certainly liked the dishes and customer service, awesome location nearby to my home. The workers are always kind. I highly recommend this place.
Food is always good. I usually get the chicken.
The food is consistently fresh and delightful, staff members hands out awesome service. I love how neat it is and atmosphere. I highly recommend this spot.
So I moved to Hollywood about a year ago and since I discovered Bossa Nova I have been a fan. I bring all my dates here (yes dates), friends, and family and it never disappoints.Location:My favorite location is off Sunset and N. Formosa Ave in Los Angeles/Hollywood, mind you they have other locations as well.Service:I work in customer service and I feel like I know what good service is and I dont always expect amazing service but at least decent service, I understand we all have those days but Bossa Nova never lets you down with anything but the BEST service. From the moment you walk up to the check in to the second you leave you are treated with respect. Service is always too notch and I can truly say I appreciate all the hard work everyone does/gives here.FYI… they do not take reservations so it in first come first served and your full party must be present to be seated, with that being said this place is very popular and can get very busy so make sure you get there early or be patient to wait.Atmosphere:They set the mood for sure. They offer indoor and outdoor seating but my favorite is the back outdoor dinning. The back outdoor dinning has lights, heat lamps, and is very intimate.Food:Everything is Delicious and Im not lying. My favorite go to is the Fresh Mozzarella Bruschetta to start with and then have the SALMÃO GRELHADO or the CHICKENS BOWL. The chicken bowl comes with Chimichurri and the salmon comes with this Homemade Passion Fruit Sauce and these two are to die for. I always pay extra to take a side of sauces home with me. Drinks are always ice cold and refreshing, yes Im talking about adult beverages lolParking:Lots of street meter parking around. If you are thinking about checking this place out I highly recommend it.
Very happening place. Great food. Lots of choices and they are open late.
Very good food and drinks and there are a variety of different meals there! Totally recommend it!
Always a great atmosphere. Always great food
Really good later nite cuisine till 2am
I had bad experience with their food . It was my first experience with brazilian food and it will be the last.the chicken had no seasoning at all.just rip off, also burger dry . I guess they do not use any seassons
It was my first time dining at Bossa Nova, place was clean food was good, cozy spot for a date, service was OK though they did forget to bring me a glass of wine, but other then that I was satisfied
Would Absolutely Recommend!!! Definitely 5 stars. We came here with our Brazillian friend and he recommended the Caipirinha and they had 4 different flavors that used fresh muddled fruit. We shared the Linguica Frita w/ Yucca, Cheese Bread and the Steak meal. The Yucca tasted very similar to french fries so I would recommend trying the fried yucca. The power grains were tasty too! There are so many things on the menu but I feel like the prize is in the steaks, sausages and Brazilian protein! This place looks like it could get busy so I would recommend calling ahead and making a reservation.Great place that has free parking after dark (I forget what time exactly), otherwise its metered or the valet charges you $6 or something.Cant wait to come here again, seriously.
Great vibes, food was good and cool people!
We had a vegetable dish and a chicken wrap with sweet potatoe fries. The food was on time for pickup and it tasted great.
Excellent cuisine! Ill be back for more
I highly recommend the hot and sour soup its just too good! Almost everything on the menu is good! I cant complain. Parking is a bit of a hassle if you come weekend nights but its worth it! The aroma and the food and even severs are great! Highly recommend it. Only downside is again their parking sometimes but its LA!
Went to Bossa Nova on a Saturday eveningWas greeted nicely but when we sat at the table it have food crumbs on it it was not cleanAnd the manager Matthew proceeded to yell At my nephew about the table being clean, then he saw it wasnt- Instead of being more courteousHe continue to have an attitude. When we inquired about who the manager was young women said he was the manager and he could do whatever he wanted- Okay got it. And since he was acting manager who do you complain to when a manager is terrible!!!? It just shows although the menu is limited at that location it was still a nice meal- just overshadowed by rudeness!!
My favorite restaurant in all California. The best one. God bless your business.
One of my favorite restaurants! Great food, patio seating is pleasant, and service is good, if a bit slow.
Delicious and great staff. Always a pleasure going.
Always a great place to eat!
Wasnt the best out of the ones Ive to. The food was okay but the service was great.
I tried their salmon pizza and it was fantastic. Highly recommend it
I called to order at 12am. I’m told I can’t order over the phone but I can order in person and they close at 1am. I drive 25 minutes and arrive exactly at 12:30am to order. They proceed to tell me I can’t make an order in person this late. Your late night customer service is absolutely terrible... forget your food. This is how you treat a customer who calls in advance to ask the proper questions and drove 25 minutes in the middle of the night for nothing??? Thanks for nothing!
I love Bossa Nova however I find there meal selections to be unhealthy and carb heavy. Why would you create 3 carb heavy sides and charge extra for green leafy veggies? This is not supportive for those overweight or (pre)diebetic. Please do better for the sake of our people and give healthier alternatives in your meals !
Love this place. Best Chinese food around. Healthier and delicious. Love the Shelby chicken and the green beans are to die for. All the food is great these are just my favorites. Staff is awesome and accommodating. You cant go wrong here!!
Bossa Nova is more than fulfilling the service was awesome hot great season perfectly I really enjoyed my outdoor experience
Pro tip:All Owner Response to all reviews are BOT replies!!!I mean...seriously. cant make this stuff up.
Delicious, consistent and lovely music!!
Love this place its absolutely good food. The white sangria is to die for.
Happy to be back at Bossa Nova! Anything on the menu is done to perfection and the portions are generous.
